Approaching Kaya's mansion, Emily notices that every room is dark, except for one room on the second storey next to the old oak tree, indicating that someone is a late sleeper,

Not taking any chances, she avoids it completely and moves to the other side of the mansion while trying to find an opened window, a door that's not closed properly, or anything that will let her in,

After a minute or two, she finally finds what she seeks, a window that is slightly ajar, barely noticeable, anyone would have miss it, but thanks to her years of thievery, she notices it without much troubles,

But the first thing that prevents her from entering the mansion, is the tall metal gate that surrounds it, which proves to be nothing more than a slight inconvenience when she easily climbs over it like a cat,

Sneaking to the window, with a slight push she opens it, and enters a dark room,

Taking a moment to let her eyes adjust to the dark, she turns around, quietly closes the window and begins looking for a transponder snail,

The most notable things that she notices are, a small ornate table with three large white fancy couches around it, and a large painting of a smiling blonde gentleman with a mustache, kneeling next to a red-haired woman wearing a simple yet fancy dress, both hugging a blonde skinny little girl, who is too shy to let her face be seen,

"they look happy." She mutters,

Suddenly, she hears the sound of plates crashing onto the floor, snapping her attention away from the painting,

Quickly and quietly she dashes behind one of the white couches,

Then she hears someone trying to open the door forcefully but fails, then they tries to break the door down,

Slowly it gets weaker, and weaker, and weaker, and then nothing,

Peering from behind the couch, she stares at the door

"what the hell?" She mutters, "did they leave?"

Slowly, she sneaks up to the door, grabs hold of the handle, gives it a twist, and carefully pulls the door open,

As soon as it is open, something falls through,

Without thinking, her hands shoot out, stopping whatever it is from hitting the ground,

"what the hell?" She mutters to herself as she tries to identify whatever it is she just caught,

Obscured by the dark, she could barely make out its shape,

Squinting her eyes, she tries her best to identify it, her best guess of what it could be is a man with an afro,

"run" he utters,

Taken completely surprise, all that she responds with are sputters and stutters,

Out of nowhere, a hand then reaches up and grabs her by the wrist,

Reflexively, she freaks out and tries to wrench her wrist free, but the grip did not loosen,

"khaladore, he went mad, he's killing everyone, please get miss Kaya and run" he pleads, but that plea falls on deaf ears,

Using all of her might, she finally wrenches her wrist free, and throws herself backward, away from the man on the ground,

But before she can comprehend what is going on, she notices a man is standing in between the doorway, right in front of her, he does not move, instead, he just stands there, as still as a statue, watching her,

"ahem" He softly says, chilling her to the bones, "What are you doing here in my fine establishment?"

Immediately she turns tail and runs straight for the window,

Then something suddenly appears in a blur right beside her, and slaps her with such force that it sends her crashing into the wall,

Wasting no time to feel pain, she jumps back up and tries to run to the window again, but she freezes up instantly the moment she feels something sharp is pressing against her throat,

"Now now, let's not leave so fast, surely you are here to steal something?" He speaks, his voice calm and oozing with arrogance,

Her mind is screaming at her now, to beg him to let her go, to strike up a bargain with him, to do anything and get somewhere safe, but frozen with fear, she does nothing,

Kneeling in the dark, she can feel his eyes on her,

"I believe I know who you are, you were with that rabble of pirate filth that I escorted out this morning."

At the mere suggestion that she's a pirate, disgust and resentment fill her mind, overpowering her fear completely,

"I am no damn pirate!" She snaps back in anger,

This earns her a knee to the face, slamming her head against the wall, while she is trying to stem the blood from her broken nose and not to scream out in pain, but slashes to the stomach and to her legs make her scream out in pain as she drops to the floor like a sack of bricks,

"You are what I say you are."

With both her hands, she tries to desperately drag herself away, hoping that somehow she will get away from this crazed man,

In her attempt, she manages to get past the doorway, and into the dark hallway,

"Do you honestly think you can escape me? Look at you, you're crawling on the floor like some sort of animal."

Ignoring him, she continues to drag herself to safety, but she winces in pain when he suddenly appears beside her in a blur and stomps on her right hand,

"Pathetic." He says with a chuckle,

But in his delight, he did not notice that another man has risen and is standing behind him,

Tackling the lunatic from behind, knocking both to the ground, the two begins to fight,

Taking the opportunity, she pulls herself up with pained breath and protests from her legs,

With one hand on the wall for support, she begins to make her way through the dark hallway as fast as she can,

As she walks, she tries to come up with any possible way to get out alive, escaping through windows is not possible since she can't see any, combat is obviously out of the question, but then she recalls that someone is awake in the mansion on the second floor,

At the thought of this, her steps quicken, but she did not watch where she was going, and so she slips on some sort of liquid,

Falling on the floor with a wet splat, she pulls herself up with a grimace and more protests from her aching legs, but she ignores the pain and pushes forth,

After what feels like an eternity, she finally sees the stairs, as she goes near it, she spots two guards lying on the steps of the stairs with a flintlock pistol nearby,

Rushing to help them, she notices that both of them are dead, their wounds seem like it was caused by some sort of claws,

Not wasting any more time on this, she picks up the flintlock pistol and ascends the stairs,

On the top of the stairs, she spots light emitting through the cracks of two large doors, meaning that whoever can help her is behind those doors,

Barrelling through the doors, a shriek pierces her ears but she pays it no attention and hastily closes the doors behind her and immediately looks for anything to block them with,

Luckily there's a bookshelf right next to the doors, biting on the flintlock pistol to hold it, she grabs the bookshelf with both hands and begins to pull,

But it does not budge,

She tries again, and it still will not budge, no matter how hard she pulls it,

Desperate, she tries again, this time with every little bit of strength she can muster,

With a mighty roar, the bookshelf falls with a loud boom as it hits the floor,

Safe, for now, she takes a breath of relief, relents to her injuries, and collapses on the floor.
