Yes, I know. I was supposed to put the chapter "An ordinary human being among supernatural beings" instead of this one. The problem is that I was having trouble making the chapter, so I thought I would write the chapter from another story. Surprisingly, I made this chapter in just one day(6 hours to be more specific). I guess it must have been because I had been wanting to write a chapter for this story for some time.
I will try to release the chapter "An ordinary human being among supernatural beings" or some other of my stories that I was inspired by this weekend.
The whole situation with Ukraine and Russia seems to have stabilized somewhat...may this war end soon.
Chapter 3 - Reencounter
In an unknown location in a castle in the dining room, three people were seen around a table. A silver-haired woman was sitting at one end of the table with a plate of food, while a man with black hair and red eyes was sitting at the other end with the same plate of food.
A blond haired man was seen standing.
"Raizel-sama, how is the food?" The silver-haired woman in maid's clothes asked.
"Delicious as always, Grayfia," the black-haired, red-eyed man replied with a smile.
"You flatter me, Raizel-sama."
"Sorry to interrupt, but could I ask where my portion of food is...?" The blond-haired man commented with his eyes closed in irritation.
"Unfortunately I only had enough to make one serving for me and Raizel-sama," the woman replied.
"Don't tell lies!" The blond-haired man shouted. "You clearly did this on purpose, it's not even three days since I stocked the ingredients!" He pointed an accusatory finger at her.
"Oh, then I'm afraid you put it somewhere and didn't warn me, because I only found enough ingredients for two dishes," she spoke up.
The blond-haired man looked at the woman with great irritation while she only showed a small smile. To him it was obvious that she did this on purpose. Now he still didn't know why. What had he done to irritate the woman in such a way?
"You can have my plate, Frankenstein," his master's voice brought him back.
"What!" Grayfia exclaimed.
"No, you don't have to do that, master, I'm not that hungry," Frankenstein quickly refused.
"Yes, like he said, don't mind him," Grayfia quickly agreed.
Frankenstein cast a deadly glare at her, to which she returned the same way, casting a deadly glare at him.
"What did I say before about you two fighting?" Raizel interjected.
The two quickly stopped as they answered together, "fighting is not good."
"Exactly," he nodded in satisfaction. "You can have my portion, Frankenstein."
"But..." Frankenstein was about to reject again, when Grayfia quickly realized something and flashed a smile.
"He's right, Frankenstein. Friends fighting is not a good thing," she replied with a smile, causing him to be suspicious. "Raizel-sama himself is offering his dish, the least you should do is accept his kindness."
Okay, now that was suspicious. What was this evil woman planning?
"And since he is doing that," she stood up and started walking towards her master while carrying her chair and her plate in different hands. "It is my duty to share my plate with him," she finished as she sat down next to him.
Frankenstein finally realized what she was doing.
"Are you sure about this, Grayfia? I don't want to-" His master couldn't finish when she interrupted him.
"No problem, Raizel-sama. I'm not that hungry. You can have Raizel-sama's plate, Frankenstein." She finished with a victorious smile.
This damned woman...
Frankenstein had no choice but to eat his master's portion while he and Grayfia shared a plate.
Grayfia had the audacity to look at him from time to time, flashing him a smile as Frankenstein ate his master's portion alone.
Grayfia had won this battle.
"Hey, do you have a girlfriend!?"
"Are you some kind of model?"
"What did you do before you came here?"
"You're not a pervert, right?"
Questions like this were asked by the girls to Issei who was sitting in his chair in the classroom. He was in complete silence.
The heiresses along with Akeno and Tsubaki were just looking at this cautiously. They couldn't feel any kind of energy coming from Issei. That was strange, after all every living creature always emitted some kind of aura, even humans. There were some that were very weak, but it was still possible to feel it. This was the first time they had come across someone who did not emit any kind of energy.
Tsubaki is a young woman with glasses, with long straight black hair that extends to her knees with bangs and heterochromic eyes, with a violet left eye and a brown right eye. She also wears semi-rimmed blue glasses with square lenses.
Initially, Sona thought Issei was deaf or something, but seeing how he introduced himself, she dismissed that. He also seemed to understand the female students who were asking him questions, but he was still silent. Maybe he was shy? That was the only thing she could think of at the moment. She quickly adjusted her glasses and spoke in a commanding voice.
"Girls, don't bother the new guy. Don't you see that you are making him uncomfortable?"
The girls quickly turned to her and then to the transfer student.
"Sona is right, how about giving him some space?" Rias spoke with a gentle smile.
"R- right, sorry for the inconvenience," the girls quickly bowed their heads in apology to the transfer student.
He just turned to them and gave a small smile with a nod. Naturally, this action brought different reactions.
"Kyaaaaaaaaaaa!"
"His smile is very nice!"
"He sure must be some kind of model."
The boys were different.
"Tch, shitty pretty boy," one boy whispered.
"What do they see in him? I'm better looking..."
Said boy turned toward Rias and Sona's direction. He gave another smile with a nod of his head. They blinked a little at that, but returned the smile. He is probably thanking them for their action earlier, they thought.
The rest of the class was quiet, but during it, some people noticed something. Issei was not carrying any backpack or notebook, but he seemed to be listening to the teacher attentively. Nobody questioned this in class, after all it would be impolite. Could he also have forgotten his materials because it was the first day of class?
Sona left him to talk to the director, and shortly after it was announced that a transfer student would be in their class. She didn't receive any advance notice about this either. Normally, when there is a transfer student, the Student Council president would take care of it, but since she didn't know about it there was only one answer to this.
He was transferred at short notice.
She began to wonder about this. Maybe he knew the school director? Or had the director forgotten to tell her? She made a mental note to ask him about this later.
The class remained silent until the end of the class. Issei had not said a word since she had introduced herself. As everyone was getting ready to leave, Rias, Sona, Akeno and Tsubaki approached Issei.
"Excuse me, Hyoudou-kun," Sona began making him turn toward her. "There are a few things that need to be taken care of, since I haven't received any news of a transfer student, and I'm usually the one who takes care of that. Could you accompany us to the Student Council Room to discuss some things?"
Issei pondered that question. Frankenstein had told him not to tell about who the two of them were. Apparently, in the Devils' eyes, Frankenstein was just a normal human who knew nothing about the concept of the Supernatural. Well, they were right in a certain part, but if there was one thing Frankenstein was not, it would be to be a normal human. That concept did not apply to someone like him.
He also needed to get in touch with Grayfia as soon as possible. Because of him, she had been through a lot of tricky situations. He would probably get beaten up as soon as she saw him, for the fact that he had kept her waiting for so long.
He also didn't know much about the new technologies in the world. They had evolved a lot in the last 900 years, so he didn't know how he would act if he saw something normal to them, but it would be something totally new to him. However, Frankenstein just said not to reveal that it was the two of them. If the worst case scenario happened, he could just say he knew about Supernatural without revealing his true identity, and he hoped they would accept that.
He nodded his head in agreement.
They looked at each other for a short time. It seemed that they needed to get used to this, since it was probably something they would see frequently.
The five people began to walk. When they reached the corridors, several female students commented on the four most popular girls hanging out with the transfer student. They also heard the male students throwing curses at him, but there were two who stood out in this.
"What the fuck! Those fucking pretty boys! Kiba wasn't enough!? Now there's another cursing plague that's come to take our girls away!" Said a boy with glasses.
"These sons of bitches are multiplying! I hope those bastards die!" Exclaimed another boy who was standing next to the one with glasses. He was bald.
"Please just ignore this," Sona said with a sigh. "Those two are known as Kuoh's perverted duo. They usually spy on the girls in the Kendo Club and end up catching them. They give me a lot of trouble."
"I find it remarkable that they have the courage to show their desires so openly like that," Rias commented.
"You say that because you are a nudist," Sona commented dryly.
"I'm not a nudist!" Rias shouted, only to quickly shut her mouth. She looked to the side and saw all the students looking at them. Rias blushed a little as she turned around and whispered.
"I'm not a nudist. What's wrong with sleeping naked? I can't sleep any other way."
"I wonder..."
"P-please don't talk about such things so openly like that..." Tsubaki whispered, speaking for the first time in a long time. She had her face lowered, but it was possible to see that she was blushing a little.
"Fufufu, you're quite shy, aren't you. Our little friend here doesn't seem to be shaken by it," Akeno commented.
The girls quickly turned to Issei. They saw that he was walking normally, but if they looked closer, they would see a small pink tinge on his cheeks, but it disappeared quickly.
After walking for a short time, they finally arrived at the Student Council Room. Sona opened the door, revealing that there was no one there but them. They entered quickly, and Issei began to look at the things around him with curiosity.
There was a desk of the same type that Frankenstein had in his office. There were two medium-sized couches. He also noticed that in one space there was one of those "screens" that he had noticed in some places on the street while walking. The difference was that this one was much smaller than the ones on top of some 'castles'. On the Sona table, he noticed that there was a board game along with another machine.
"Is it just us?" Akeno asked.
"Yeah, the others went to take care of some things," Sona replied.
Rias and Akeno noticed the way she talked about it and looked at Issei. He seemed to be looking everywhere in the room.
'Is he looking for something strange?' were the thoughts of both of them. Tsubaki and Sona were also thinking along similar lines of this.
They didn't know that he was looking just out of curiosity. There were some things he was seeing for the first time, such as what appeared to be a machine with some black liquid inside it.
Sona sat down in his chair. "Akeno, could you prepare something for us?"
"Sure, Kaichou. Hyoudou-kun, would you like some tea?" Akeno asked.
Upon hearing the name tea, Issei quickly turned his head toward Akeno and nodded a few times. He doubted that his tea was any better than Frankenstein's, but he had been wanting to have some for a while. And with this 'class' thing he didn't have time for it.
"Looks like someone quite likes tea, huh, fufu."
Akeno quickly left to prepare tea for everyone. After about 13 minutes, she returned and gave everyone a cup of tea. They looked at Issei with raised eyebrows. The reason was that he had his little finger raised as he brought the cup close to his mouth. He took a sip of the tea.
"It's good," he commented with a smile after he moved the cup away from his mouth. It wasn't as good as Frankenstein's, but it was still good.
"Ara, thank you..." Akeno commented with her cheeks a little red. She was confused how to act.
He had spoken after a long time. His voice was soft and calm. It was a very good thing to hear.
"You're not one to talk much, are you?" Rias commented as he looked at her without answering. "You should talk more often, your voice is very beautiful." She added sincerely.
"I agree with her," Tsubaki said.
He just blushed a little at that. They were able to see this time, and Akeno let out a 'fufufu', while the others smiled a little.
"Okay, first of all," Sona began as he caught everyone's attention. "I saw that you didn't bring your school supplies with you. Were you able to understand the lessons perfectly?" She asked.
She could move on to the other questions later. As Student Council President, it was her job to keep the students in line. And since he hadn't brought his school supplies, she needed to know if he was understanding the class. He was the quiet type, and usually these guys were smart.
A while passed and he remained silent.
"You... can you please answer my question?" Sona asked again.
"The history subject was interesting, I didn't see any problems with it," he commented casually, "however, that thing called math... I didn't understand it at all."
The others blinked at that, 'that thing called math'? What exactly did he mean by that? Did he just not understand the subject matter? It seemed to be more than that.
"I see...is it about your school supplies?"
"I will arrange everything to bring tomorrow," he replied as he took another sip of his tea in that... elegant way?
Frankenstein had warned him about his school supplies before he left for class. Apparently he needed books for each subject and a notebook for copying the material. He would have to pester Frankenstein a bit in order to understand these things more easily. After all, he had to learn about the last 900 years.
"Okay, then we can move on to the next questions," she began as she used her computer. "You said your name is Hyoudou Issei, right?" He agreed. "I couldn't find any record of any Hyoudou in Kuoh City."
All the girls looked at Issei with appraising eyes.
Issei assessed the situation, pondering what would be the best way to get out of this situation.
"I am from very far away. I have no parents," he commented softly.
"Oh, I'm sorry about that," Rias quickly said as she sent a glance to her friend.
"Forgive me for that, I didn't know, but that still doesn't answer my question. Forgive me if I'm being pushy, but I have to know. Don't you have someone to take care of you?" Sona asked.
"Two people," he replied. "My maid who is currently away taking care of some matters and Frank."
"If the time comes when you need to comment on me, just say Frank."
He remembered what Frankenstein had told him earlier.
"The director?" Sona asked with a raised eyebrow.
Issei just shook his head in agreement.
"So you live with him?" He agreed again. "Right, I apologize for any rudeness."
'He seems to be known to the director, which explains his transfer," Sona thought. Besides, she is still curious about the fact that he doesn't emanate any kind of energy. Could it be...
There was only one race that refrained from possessing any kind of energy. 'But that's impossible.' She thought. They were known for their red eyes, and the boy in front of her possessed golden brown eyes. And it was impossible for them to be able to hide their eyes with any kind of magic.
Rias seemed to have come to a similar conclusion to her.
Well, they were right about this certain race being unable to hide their eyes. But the person in front of them was not normal.
The girls had already finished their tea, leaving only Issei to drink hers. They all looked at each other and nodded. Sona turned to Issei and asked.
"Tell me, Hyoudou-kun," she began attracting his attention. "Do you believe in the supernatural?"
It was a risky move, but the worst he could do was laugh in their faces or call them crazy or something. And she also had a feeling about him. She didn't know what it was, but she was confident that he was no mere human. She didn't know where all the confidence she had about that came from, but she didn't care, and kept looking at him along with all the other girls, waiting for his answer patiently.
Issei took the last sip of his tea with his little finger raised. As soon as he finished, he took a cloth from his pocket, confused devils, and then he wiped it gently over his mouth, and as soon as he was done he put the cloth away again. He looked at the girls, pondering his question. Frankenstein just said that he shouldn't reveal his true identity to them.
But he didn't say anything about Issei lying about not knowing about the supernatural. If he denied it, it would only look more suspicious in their eyes, after all he knew that they could not sense his energy.
He put the cup beside a small table next to the sofa. He looked at them again, and said.
"I know you're all devils."
This caused a different variety of reactions.
Rias, Akeno, and Tsubaki looked quite surprised, while Sona's eyes were narrowed at him.
"That means that the director...-"
"Franken-, Frank is just a normal human," Issei added, interrupting Sona.
He almost said Frankenstein. He didn't know why Frankenstein told Issei not to mention his full name, but there must have been some good reason.
"I see..." Sona muttered as he looked at the four girls. Rias seemed to be a little excited, and Sona knew why, but she had to remove another doubt. She looked at Issei with serious eyes as she emanated some of her demonic aura.
"I have to ask, what are you, and what are you planning in our territory?"
...
...
Frankenstein was in his office tidying up paperwork, when he quickly felt a surge of demonic energy. He narrowed his eyes at this, but quickly returned to his work.
...
...
Issei just looked at her without saying anything.
Sona blinked, along with the other girls. She upped her energy a little to show how serious she was, and also to try to intimidate Issei a little, to make him answer her questions as sincerely as possible. She didn't expect him to be totally fine.
"Well..." he began, "I'm afraid I can't say what I am exactly, but I'm no threat. The reason I'm here... I just wanted to try to be a student."
"Huh?" Tsubaki's confused voice could be heard.
The others seemed to be similar to her, confused.
He said he wasn't a threat, and they seemed to believe him a little. But the fact that he did not answer what it is, was certainly something to think about. Just the fact that he said that, meant that he wasn't exactly a human. Sona would normally push this a bit, but she thought about it some more and decided to go against it. They had just met, so she might have her answer eventually.
"Did you really come here just for that?" She asked again to confirm.
"Yes," he stated. "Also...I would like to thank you," they blinked.
"Thank you?" Akeno asked confused. The other three were also confused about this.
"Yes, thank you for protecting the humans of this city... I haven't been able to do that for a long time," he commented softly.
From that moment on, the heads of all of them analyzing his words.
Sona quickly pondered the way he said it. 'The humans of this city.' From the way he said it, then it was safe to say that he was not a human. But if that was the case, what could he be? Also, the way he spoke 'from this city,' could it mean that this was not the first time he had been here?
"What do you mean you haven't been able to do that for a long time?" Tsubaki asked the first question.
"...Oh, it's nothing," he answered evasively.
Sona was about to insist when Rias decided to speak up.
"Hey, how do you feel about being part of my peerage?" She asked excitedly.
Sona gave a scolding look to her friend, who just ignored it and kept looking at Issei, waiting for her answer.
"...Peerage?" He tilted his head.
"Oh, you don't know what it is?" Rias asked for confirmation.
He shook his head.
Rias quickly thought of how to explain it simply, she quickly spotted the chessboard on Sona's desk. She quickly picked it up while saying, "Lend me some," not expecting Sona's response.
"Do you know Chess?" She asked as Sona handed her the pieces with an annoyed face.
Issei wasn't sure he knew that 'Chess'. He knows the board game, but has it been given a new name over the years?
Noticing his lack of response, she decided to give him a basic explanation.
"Nowadays there are several board games," Rias began, removing any doubts he had. "Chess is a board game, competitive in nature, played between two participants. Each is represented by pieces of opposite colors, usually black and white are used. The objective of the game is to conquer the "king" of your opponent."
Seeing that he was paying attention, she continued.
"Both players receive the same pieces. One [King], one [Queen], two [Rooks], two [Bishops], two [Knights], and finally the eight [Pawns]. It's a pretty famous board game in the underworld." She said.
Issei thought about it. A board game famous in the underworld? Well, it was to be expected, after all, most of the games you have in the Underworld, Heaven or Grigori were made by humans.
"To explain what I intend, you need to tell a bit of the history of supernatural beings," she began attracting his attention. "A long time ago, there was a 3-sided war, Between Devils, Fallen Angels and God with his angel followers. The three parties had great armies and fought for eternity. As a result, all three parties lost their troops and the war ends after hundreds of years with no winner."
Issei narrowed his eyes as she spoke this. As much as he didn't participate much in that war, he still didn't like to remember it. Sona noticed his glance at that, but Rias didn't seem to notice since she was immersed in the explanation, and so she continued.
"Devils were no exception. Great Noble Devils who commanded about 20 or 30 troops lost most of their subordinates during the war. They lost so many that they were unable to assemble new armies. Most of the pureblood Devils died in the war. After the war many problems arose for the Devils, Fallen Angels and God. While the Fallen Angels and God lost a good part of their troops, we are in no position to let our guard down, otherwise we would have serious problems."
Although she was correct in most of the information, there were still a few things that were incorrect. Perhaps the information was lost over time? Or did the leaders simply spread false information?
"Just as the angels created their system for reincarnating people with playing cards, the devils decided to use a system of forming small groups of soldiers. And from there the [Evil Parts] came into being."
Issei's eyes turned to her. For some reason, the atmosphere in the room became a bit stifling for all the devils.
"System to reincarnate people? Humans?" He asked, although it sounded more like an order by his tone.
Akeno, Sona, Tsubaki and Rias were sweating for some reason. Sona had a feeling that something bad would happen if she didn't say something fast.
"Yes, Noble Devils have decided to use the rules of a Human game, 'Chess' for their Devil soldiers. However, we do not reincarnate any person against their will. We ask the person if they want to join our peerage, if they refuse, we simply erase their memory on the matter." Sona explained.
The feeling they had been feeling went away, allowing them to breathe more easily.
They quickly looked at Issei with only one thought in their minds.
'What the hell was that?'
"Yes, I treat my peerage like my own family," Rias added, after he was able to recover. "Sona is the same." Sona agreed with his head.
He was silent for a while, causing tension between them, and after a few seconds, he finally spoke again.
"You treat the members as your own family, but that doesn't mean that every devil is the same, does it?"
"It is as you say," Sona began, looking directly into his eyes. "There are devils who treat their 'servants' like slaves."
She had no reason to lie about that.
"But like I said before, I treat my servants like my family!" Rias commented quickly. "What do you think? You could get wealth or fame or whatever you want."
At that moment, Rias looked like a girl desperate for him to agree to join her peerage. Of course, all three of the others knew why, unlike Issei who wasn't aware of anything.
"...I'm sorry," he commented making her hopeful eyes vanish. "I can't be one of your servants."
"M-but-"
Just as she was about to speak, a knock on the door was heard making everyone turn to her.
"Excuse me, Madam Student Council President?" A familiar voice commented.
"Director?" Sona asked.
"Yes, it's me. Is Issei there with you?"
"Yes, he's here, one moment," Sona replied, and seconds later she spoke. "You may come in."
As spoken, the man entered the room. He was a blond-haired man in a suit. He was known as Frank, the school director.
"What are you doing here, director?" Rias asked. As much as she was curious, she was also a little angry that he had shown up just now.
"Well, I came to pick up Issei to show him the house we're staying in. Since I couldn't find him anywhere, I assumed he was here, and the students commenting about the four beauties walking with a prince to the Student Council Room just made me sure, hahaha." He commented with a chuckle... satisfied?
"Ara, is he really going to stay with you, Director?" Akeno asked.
"Yes, you see, since he has no parents, I'm the one who will take care of him."
"It's a good thing you'll be taking care of him," Tsubaki commented.
Frankenstein just gave her a smile before answering. "Thank you, although we don't know who his parents are, that was the reason why the paperwork on his identity will take a while, I assume that's why you called him here, right?" He asked Sona.
Sona adjusted her glasses as she replied, "Yes, you are right. Thank you for your time, Hyoudou-kun."
Issei just nodded and stood up to leave with Frankenstein.
"Oh, before I forget, Director," Sona began catching his attention, causing him to turn to her. "Even though he told me he was going to prepare the materials tomorrow, you shouldn't have sent him to class without at least a notebook to copy things in."
Frankenstein quickly widened his eyes as he shifted his gaze to his master.
How was this possible?
How the hell did he allow this to happen?
How the hell did he forget his master's school materials!?
"I'm sorry, master, I completely forgot my school supplies," Frankenstein whispered to his master as they walked through the halls of the school.
At this time there was hardly anyone in the hallways.
"No need to apologize, Frankenstein."
As they walked, Issei suddenly stopped.
Frankenstein realizing this also stopped as he looked around confused.
"Master?"
His master, however, was looking in a specific direction. Following his gaze, he noticed that Issei was looking at a brown haired girl who was wearing glasses. If he was not mistaken, that was...
"Tell me, Frankenstein, did Ddraig have any descendants?"
Frankenstein squeezed his eyes shut.
"That crazy dragon? Not that I know of, why?"
"It's nothing, probably just imagination."
He returned to walking.
Frankenstein narrowed his eyes as he looked at the girl his master was looking at before resuming walking with his master.
"By the way," Frankenstein began, "I sent Grayfia a text message via cell phone, since she wasn't answering her cell phone call. The log showed that she viewed the message a few minutes ago."
"Oh, that's good." The voice came out a little louder than usual. "Are we still going to meet her today?"
"Probably, she said she'd be here in town in a few hours."
Other than that she also made something very clear that Frankenstein didn't mention to his master. In the message it was clearly written [If you are kidding me about this, prepare to have all your favorite goals destroyed]. Just remembering that message Frankenstein had a frown on his face. Nobody would touch his collection.
They left for the place where Frankenstein lived.
xXx
Once they arrived where Issei was going to live with Frankenstein, he soon realized that the house was quite large. Not as big as his castle, but much bigger than the other residences nearby. All the way to the house where he was going to stay, Frankenstein had to explain to Issei about various things they saw along the way.
The advance of technology was too great. He doubted that he would be able to learn about everything in just a few weeks as he had originally planned.
Frankenstein quickly made his way to the door and brought his face close to some kind of strange machine.
Authorized access.
"What was that?" Issei asked.
"Facial recognition," he replied. "We will add yours soon, master."
Issei merely nodded. They quickly entered the house.
"What is the term used for these large houses?"
"The correct term would be Mansion, master."
"I see..."
Issei began to look around the house. No matter where he looked, there were machines that he had never seen before. They were in what appeared to be the living room. A large glass table was in the center of the room, and surrounding it were several white armchairs with gold details.
"I see that your taste in decoration remains the same."
"It's hard to change my taste in decoration," he replied with a smile.
"Could you prepare me some tea?"
"Of course, master. Wait a minute," Frankenstein left for a moment to prepare the tea.
It didn't take long for him to return with the tea for his master. Issei quickly noticed the different cup. It was one of his favorites. He should take greater care.
"Ah, yes, I forgot to ask. What did you talk to the heiresses about?" Frankenstein asked as he passed the cup to his master.
"Well," he took the cup and replied. "They doubted me, so I let them know that I knew about the supernatural, but I didn't say anything too much. Issei took a sip of his tea.
"Hmm, so they know you are not normal."
"Yes, but I think Sona was suspicious about me being a vampire or not."
"Well, that's to be expected. Normal vampires cannot hide their red eyes, but you are not just a normal vampire," Frankenstein commented.
Actually, Sona was too smart to take this on quickly, but it seems she lacked more confidence in her instincts.
"Frankenstein, was the truth about the war that happened thousands of years ago lost, or did the higher-ups tell lies? Some of the information Sirzechs' sister talked about was uncertain."
"Well, I really don't know much about that. But if I had to bet, I'd say the culprits are those damned old men on the devil's council." Frankenstein replied with a hint of irritation.
He really didn't like the leaders of the Devil's Council very much. He himself wondered why the tomato head didn't disband them while it was still possible. Because of his hesitation, those damned old men had gotten a greater decision-making power than those of the four Maous.
"I see... Sirzechs' sister has asked me to join her peerage," he commented casually.
"What!" Frankenstein exclaimed. "That damned brat, how dare she!? Am I supposed to take care of her? Maybe make a threat to the tomato head?"
"Frankenstein, stop it," Issei sighed.
"M-but master, she dared to turn you into a servant, even if it was impossible, that action is still unforgivable."
"Calm down. I think there is a good reason for this, she seemed to be desperate for some reason. Could you possibly know why?"
Frankenstein, although still irritated, thought about his master's question. An answer appeared in his head.
"Well, because of the War, several pureblood devils died. I think those old shits must be arranging marriages between pureblood devils so that they don't go into extinction."
"Arranged marriage?" Issei frowned. "Sirzechs would not allow that."
Although Issei didn't talk to him much, he highly doubted that her brother would be in favor and allow it.
"It's not so simple," Frankenstein commented. "Those old guys on the devil's council have gained a lot of decision making power as the years have gone by. Even someone like the tomato head, who is one of the four Maous can't just call off the engagement by will."
Frankenstein noticed that his master was quieter than usual, but he knew that his master was not liking this one bit.
"Besides," he continued, "if she really is that desperate, her engagement partner must be a despicable person, and I can only think of the youngest male child in that flaming bird family."
"Who-" Issei couldn't finish when a white magic circle appeared in the middle of the room.
It didn't take long for a beautiful woman with silver hair to appear from it.
"Oh, it looks like she has arrived-" Frankenstein couldn't finish speaking when the woman grabbed his shirt with both hands with considerable force.
"Where...where is he!?" She asked quickly. "Were you kidding me!?"
"Calm down, crazy woman!" Frankenstein said quickly. "Are you blind by any chance!?"
Calming down a bit, she quickly turned toward where a young man with brown hair and brown eyes was sitting with a cup.
The young man quickly stood up, and it didn't take long for a red aura to appear over him, and seconds later, his brown hair was replaced by a strong black while his eyes changed from brown to a blood-red. In his left ear an earring with a cross-shaped chain appeared. The cross was silver with some red details at each end, looking like jewelry.
The woman was paralyzed.
You could see tears forming in her eyes.
It was him.
He was finally back.
He...
"Hello, Grayfia-" The man couldn't finish answering when a fist struck his face with abnormal speed, throwing him a few feet onto a second glass table, which was smaller than the main one. The sound of breaking glass was heard.
He had no time to process when the woman within seconds was on top of him and started punching his head, breaking the floor and some things near him.
"Hey! What the hell are you doing-" Frankenstein was stopped by a raised hand from his master.
The warning was clear, don't meddle.
"You idiot!" The woman shouted as she punched his face with even greater force, sinking him a little to the floor of the mansion.
"You know how hard I looked for you, huh!" The woman with tears on her face continued to scream as she punched his face.
"19 Times!" The sound of the ground cracking more and more was heard. "I have traveled all over the world 19 times!" Her voice was completely unlike anything she had ever used. The tears falling from her eyes were like small waterfalls.
"19 times staying in a country for 6 months to a year, trying to find some clue about you!" Another punch.
Suddenly the punches became slower and weaker.
"937 years searching for you non-stop..."
His voice began to grow weaker as his punches stopped.
"Do you even know how worried I was!?"
Frankenstein who was just listening to everything made a sad expression.
"No..." she raised her fist again. "Don't you dare disappear without me again, you idiot!" A punch stronger than any other was thrown at him.
The sound of something breaking was heard. Frankenstein froze as he looked at the item.
"Please..." her voice was weak as she kept crying. "Please... don't disappear again..." she sank her head into his chest as she kept crying.
A hand was placed on her head. She raised her eyes and saw her master giving her a sad smile. Although her punches were not able to hurt them, she slowly began to regret what she had done. Just as she was about to apologize, her master spoke up.
"I'm sorry," he said. "I'm not someone worthy of you calling me master. But, if you give me another chance, I guarantee that something like this will never happen again." He put his other hand over his eyes, wiping away his tears that kept falling.
He worried Frankenstein and Grayfia.
He would not let something like that happen again.
So.
"Although it's too late to say it, I'm back, Grayfia..." he commented expecting to get another punch. When nothing came, he looked at her, who was now finally stopping crying.
She flashed a smile as she sank into his chest again.
"Welcome back, Raizel-sama."
"Sorry to interrupt your beautiful reunion..." they heard Frankenstein's voice.
Quickly looking in his direction, they realized that he was not happy at all. The dark aura that covered his body was living proof of that. When they looked away, they finally realized the reason why he was so angry.
A few meters away was his favorite mug... completely broken.
Even Issei was careful not to break anything in his collection.
This was bad.
However, his favorite mug was not the only thing broken.
All around the mansion, carvings, plates, bottles, lamps and vases that looked very expensive were all broken.
"I-" Grayfia was about to apologize when Frankenstein's voice interrupted her, in a tone very different from anything he had ever used as he looked directly at Grayfia.
"You're the one who's going to clean up all this mess, you slut."
Well, what did you think of this chapter?
Finally the reunion of Issei and Grayfia. Well, about her hitting him, I think that would be reasonable, even though she has total loyalty to him, he was basically gone for over 900 years, and she still doesn't fully know why that is, so this anger is normal, I think.
In the beginning you saw a 'little fight' between Grayfia and Frankenstein.
The beginning of this story will be more slice of life and humor. The battles will eventually start to appear more frequently as the story progresses.
This coming week is exam week, so I probably won't post anything.
