Monika's pov

"Mmh."

I woke up on the floor in some plain grayish hallway, it seems that i'm somewhere new but I don't count it as good. I slowly lift myself up and look around seeing doors further down the hall, With windows by the side, it seems to be dark.

"Where am I now?"

I get up and look back and forth down the hall, it stretch out long by both sides. Right now i don't like my situation, apparently I need to find something or someone, if I don't keep moving forward then I won't be heading back to my world. I find that ironic that I want to go back, to my own prison, but is better than being attack by these monsters.

I look down feeling something around my waist and I remember about my weapon, i pull the gun out of the holster and i remember about that horrid baby monster. I shot it at least 4 times so if i remember correctly then i have four more shots left and i'm defenseless.

I checked just in case and i'm right, three in the mag and one in the chamber. I holster it and look down the hall in front of me, right now i don't know exactly where i'm at but i should check for clues.

I walk down the hall and look out the window first and realize i'm high up, i saw a few buildings and the street, i must be in a skyscraper or something. At this point i ponder why i been send here, but most importantly why is this happening, i hope i get answers eventually.

I look back down the hall and saw another hallway cutting in the middle with lights flickering as i moved towards it. I looked down the hall and found a trail of blood leading to a puddle of blood in the hall, iwas shocked to see this but now i know that this building is not safe.

Out of curiosity i went forward and look at the blood on the floor, at this point i know what to do, i need to get out of here but that might not be easy. I went around the blood and look both ways for a staircase to lead me down.

I went right first and quickly walk down the hall until i heard a loud animalistic roar throughout the halls, i certainly hope it doesn't know where i'm at.

"Oh boy..."

Yuri's pov

I woke up due to a loud roar, it sounded far but not that far from me. I sit up and realize i was in some room with a table, cabinets and shelves with books and paper.

I notice my bag around my shoulder and my gun right next to me, i grab it and attempt to get up only to feel a minor pain in my left knee.

"Urgh."

It wasn't painful but it was bareable as i grab hold of the table right next to me to help myself up. Once i got up i felt something i grab, i looked at it and notice it was a magazine with bullets fully loaded with a signature that said "Glock."

I just remember that i used up the entire clip from before and now is empty, i look at my glock and reloaded by putting in the next magazine and pull the slide back as it chamber a round.

Right now i realize that i'm in a new place, apparently i woke up here without any recalling of how i got here.

"Again with this...?"

I sighed with concerned, why am i here, what is going on, i just don't understand this. I was distraught knowing that it seems that i'm here for some odd reason, like it's some sort of game. But at the time being i'm here and i'm not alone, there's something here and is not human. I must carry on for now as i left the room and was in some office space.

"Oh no, not again."

An office building, i feel like i never left that building i was in before, but this room looks different. It has tables with many computers and other office needs and each table have some sort of personality.

I walk around the tables since i'm not going to spend my time here as i left through the door and was in a hallway. I went right and notice a elevator as i try it, but nothing happened, no lights or indicator that the elevator is moving.

"Maybe the elevators are out?"

I sigh again and moved on down the opposite way of the hall as i was getting close to the left corner i heard a door open right around the corner, and a gurgling noise.

I stop immediately and back away and turn and saw the closest door right next to me on my left. I quickly went in as i heard a growl in the hall, i hope it didn't see me as i was in another office room with many deskes, i hid underneath one and waited with my gun out.

The door open behind me as i waited as i heard is loud steps that sounded like piercing sounds. It was going around the tables as i lean out just a bit to see it going beside: It was a large creature that looked humanoid on all fours. Is skin looked white pale but i didn't see is face, thankfully.

I crawl out and quietly reach for the door which was 5 feet away from me, as i reach for the doorknob i heard a crack like snap further across the room. I look back and saw the monster crouching but he wasn't facing me from the front, but from the back, he twisted his entire neck to see me.

"Oh my-"

It let out a loud roar that made my heart skip a beat as i quickly open the door and ran down the hallway and turned the left corner to reach the stairwell while it follow after me.

I was in the stairwell and I wanted to go down but the stairway was broken three stories down.

"Oh fuck."

I quickly ran upstairs as the monster was hot on my tail as i pull my gun out and fire with one hand at it as i hit is chest twice. It let out a loud yelp as i climb the stairs up as it start climbing the walls and follow aftwr me.

I was getting close to the next floor but it grab the ledge and reach is sharp hands for me but i backed away and aimed and fire at is face once which made him lose grip which gave me the chance to run for it.

I managed to enter the next floor before it could regain itself as i ran and hide at the nearest room around the corner. This floor was dark as i turn on my flashlight for a brief moment to look around and hide underneath a table right next to me. I turned iff my flashlight as it went quiet, which was a good thing since i couldn't control my breathing.

Why may i be chase by a monster again?

Monika's pov

I saw a staircase coming into view but then i heard gunshots which made me jumped: "Ah!" I wasn't expecting their will be someone here beside me, but i did heard that roar again so that person must be in trouble.

I heard noises further below me as i went and open the door and heard loud footsteps echoing in the stairwell. I was going to see who's down there until i heard something else down there as well.

I stop then heard a loud gunshot and a loud yelp that wasn't human, i stood there quietly as a door shut. I backed away and heard piercing noises coming up as i turned around and went back in the hall and quickly went around the corner and waited, hopefully it doesn't know how to open doors.

Creaking*

Oh great, it does. I went to the nearest door to my right and realize i was in a dark room, it doesn't have anything in here beside square pillars.

"Shit."

I ran and hide behind one and heard the door open, i waited while trying to not breathe heavily. I heard rush footsteps as i couldn't see where he was, but he was close to me.

It breathe heavily as it moved around slowly, i lean out to my left and saw it nearly in front of my face as i dart back as it walk pass me. I was surprise it didn't see me as i quietly walk around the pillar and head for the door and left the room.

I would be relieved but it was still looking for me as i left the floor and walk downstairs to head to the next floor which was the eight floor.

I keep moving until i reach the floor where that person entered as i went in and this floor was dark. I pull out my flashlight from my belt and turned it on and look around in the hallways as i went to one room that has a door slightly open.

Inside was the breakroom and nothing else, i did notice a magazine on top of a table near the door by the left side. I went to it and picked it up, it was a 1911 magazine as i put it in my mag holder and i was about to continue until i heard a door open which i duck down and turned off my flashlight.

It stalk the hallways as it was right outside the door but it kept moving, i stood there until i couldn't hear it. This wasn't going to be easy since i need to bypass this monster, the stairwell right next to me is broken so i need to find another way out.

I left the room and quietly went down the hallway as i was reaching the end until i heard the loud footsteps around the corner. It was right in front of me again as i backed away as it continue to move forward slowly, i reach for my gun if anything happens as it was coming close.

At this point i don't know my plan on how to get out of here but suddenly the light above us flicker on just slightly as it showed me and the monster that is 5 feet away from me. It was a large monster with white eyes and a large head as it stands on is hind legs standing at 7 feet tall as the lights flicker off and it roars loudly.

"Shit!"

I pull my gun and fire twice as the muzzle flash lighten up the hall briefly which really upset the monster as it roars loud again. I heard a slam on the ground and wind hitting me, it nearly slash me as i backed away and ran back down the hall and realize i was running in the dark.

I nearly ran straight into a wall but my hands stop that from happening i went right down the hall and slam against the wall, i heard it behind me with a low roar. I quickly turned on my flashlight and check the nearest door but it didn't open.

"Oh come on!"

The monster was after me as it attempt to slash me with it large claws which hit my right shoulder but it wasn't deep but it did hurt.

I yelped as i backed away and ran backwards and attempted to out run it, it wasn't too fast thankfully but it was large. I quickly ran around the corner and ran down the hall and i realize to turn off my flashlight, it knows where i'm at if i'm in the light so i turned it off.

It roars again as i turned the corner and quietly went to the next staircase down the hall, the only thing is that the light was on in the stairwell so the monster saw my silhouette as i ran down the hall as fast as i could as i made it to the staircase.

I ran down the stairs and the monster was already in the stairwell coming after me down the ledge. I stop and aim and fire at him once which he yells in pain, i fire once more and i used up my ammo.

It was in pain but it didn't stop moving as i reloaded by having the magazine slide right out and put another one in and pull the slide back as it chamber another round. The monster hangs from the rails and i fire again which have it lose is grip and i fire one more time as it fell down the stairwell.

I didn't stop and ran down to the next floor and entered through the door and was back in the hallway, but this only has one hall and multiple doors.

I quickly ran to the nearest door and went in and inside was a ruined office space and a person standing in the middle of the room, holding a gun.

"Wha-!"

She turns her attention to me and nearly pointed at me which i nearly did the same, i couldn't believe who it was.

"W-what? Yuri!?"

I was breathing deeply as yuri was shocked to see me as well as she lower her gun.

"Monika?"

We were quiet between each other until yuri spoke.

"W-what are you doing here?"

"What am i doing here? I could be asking you the same thing."

Yuri went quiet again, also like she's embrassess of her answer.

"Right, i-i'm sorry monika, i just don't know what's going on."

"Yuri, you don't need to apologize, i'm a little confused as well."

While looking at yuri i notice that she has some scabs on her left face and even a scars.

"Yuri, are you okay? You have a scar on your face."

"Huh?"

Yuri was surprise to hear this and quickly look away, probably out of shame.

"Oh, about that. I uhh, been to some places and i been attacked by those monsters. That's why i have scars on my face"

I was shocked to hear this, yuri's been through the same thing as me?

"Wait, you been to places too?"

She looks at me.

"Yeah. Have you?"

I nod my head.

"Yeah."

Yuri's eyes open slightly, she's surprised as me, but how come she can feel emotions as well. I thought they were all programmed A.I with no sentience.

"Huh..."

My questioned look gave it away.

"Monika, are you okay?"

"Hm? Yeah, i'm fine."

Then yuri looks more surprised.

Monika, what happened to your shoulder?"

"Huh?"

I look at my right shoulder and notice her concerned look.

"Oh, right. That monster slash my right shoulder, but i'm alright."

"Are you sure? Some of the blood is sliding down your arm."

I looked again and said.

"I'm fine really, it doesn't hurt that bad, i don't think it was cut deep enough."

Yuri didn't seem too convinced but slowly lighten up just a bit.

"Okay."

This all doesn't make sense, how come yuri is sentient, she wasn't like this back in our game, why now? I need to push this somehow, but yuri spoke first.

"Monika, we need to get out of here."

"Huh? Yeah, right. But i don't think that monster is dead though."

"Dead?"

"It fell down the stairwell, but i think is still alive."

"How you know that?"

"Uh, just a hunch."

Yuri wasn't sure at first but she seems to brush it off.

"Okay, well we can talk more once we're out of here."

"R-right..."

Yuri then went towards me only to walk pass me, i just remember something.

"Wait, yuri!"

She looks at me.

"What?"

"I, need to tell you something, i don't know if you'll believe me but it has something to do with all of this."

"wha- Really?"

I nod my head gently while looking away.

"I had an odd vision of something, or someone. It said that i need to keep moving on, i will find an answer to all of this if we keep moving forward."

"Really? What kind of answer?"

"That's what i'm trying to find out."

We were quiet until we heard loud noises from below us.

"Oh no, i think is back."

I said as yuri looks worried as well.

"We need to find another way out."

She went pass me again and point at the door right behind me.

"Let's go this way."

Since when yuri's in charge?

"O-okay."

I follow after her as we went through the door and was in the hall with a counter not far from us.

We moved on down the hall passing many doors until we noticed that this hall was ransacked with broken doors, scratches on the walls and even walls being broken down.

"What happened here?"

Yuri asked which i answered.

"I think the monster was in here"

Then we heard a door open as we quickly went off, but I took action of the situation: "Yuri, hide!"

I whisper as she didn't denied this and hide at the right side while I went left and hide underneath a table. We heard steps not too far and grunts that were close, we waited for it to keep moving as I heard something fell, it sounded right across me.

"What?"

I got out from the table and peak around the corner and saw a mug rolling on the ground where yuri was, which caught the monster attention.

"Oh boy."

I thought as I need to subtract the monster before he spots yuri as i looked around and saw a piece of the wall on the ground. I picked it up and toss it across the room away from us.

I went and hide underneath the desk which i accidentally bump into it and drop a mug on the ground which rolled away, that was really unfortunate and not a good time which caught the monster attention.

I held my breathe as i pull out my gun from my bag, in case it spots me, i can hear is footsteps and breathing until another noise caught its attention.

It quickly ran after it as i took this as an opportunity to get out of here as i quickly moved quietly and saw monika doing the same thing. She signal me to follow her as we quickly went off and went around the cubicals and was reaching a door.

We exit the room as monika close the door quietly as we kept moving, without even catching our breaths. We head down a hallway surrounded by doors as we were wondering where the stairs is.

"Monika where are we going?"

She looks around almost frantically and jusrt look down a short hall In-between the hallway we're in and points at the door.

"This way."

I follow while briefly looking back to see if it's following us.

We enter through the door and into another large office space, there's cubicals on each side and the room was quite bright with almost a comforting state.

Monika seem concerned as she look around for something, probably the exit. She looked at a door near the far left side and turns halfway towards me.

"Come on, let's go this way."

We were about to run until we heard loud steps from behind us, it was really close as monika whisper panickingly.

"Get down!"

We hide inside a cubical together as the door swing open as we heard growling that was similar to an animal. The monster was a few feet away, at least it doesn't know where we at.

"Hey, yuri. That monster can't see us if we're in the dark."

She whisper to me as I crawl out the cubical a little and saw a light switch near the wall on my left as I got up and went up to it and switch it off, but I heard a snap which means he knows where i'm at.

"Oh no."

I switch it off as it yells loudly and violently I fell while yelling as well. The monster was right next to me as it turns to my attention and suddenly two gunshots were heard as the monster flinch in pain while wailing as well.

"Get off of her!"

The monster turns it attention to her as i crawl as quickly as I can to the furthest cubical as I got up and notice monika on the floor and backing away from the monster as I know what to do. I fired at him a few times, aiming at it's head as it flinch is head back and cover it, monika quickly got away but she said this.

"Shoot the lights!"

She shot the first light and I shot the last light as it was now dark, i couldn't see as we stood still. I could hear the monster well, it was looking for us, searching as I took the risk and move forward quietly and slowly, hoping monika will follow since she's in the middle of the room.

We were slowly getting close to the door as I could hear the monster was right next to me by my left, but it can't see me but monika was going for the door, the monster isn't far behind.

I have to subtract the monster somehow as I reach around a cubical to find something to subtract him with as I touch the table. I then touch something round as I grab it and toss it far across the room behind us as it shattered like glass, must be a snow globe.

The monster heard it and quickly ran towards the noise as monika went to the door while I quickly but quietly as I can head to her as she open the door and whisper: "Quickly let's-"

She open the door and the light from the hall shines in which caught the monster attention as it turns is body towards us.

"Shit!"

Monika hissed as we didn't waste time and ran down the hall as monika took lead.

"Come on!"

I look back and heard the door swing open and crash against the wall and the monster was chasing us.

"Oh boy, oh shit!"

"An elevator!"

Monika yelled excitingly as she hit the button as I turned and aim as the monster was getting really close as we aimed and fired everywhere, I aimed at is legs and body while monika aimed at is body and head.

We heard a ding as monika shouted: "Get in!"

I quickly turned and ran in as monika rapidly push the close button and a number as the monster was bleeding but was still moving just a little slow.

It roars in pain and anger as the doors closed but it reach is hand towards us and intersect the doors from closing but this door didn't open but remain close.

Monika yelled in fear as it was trying to move is hands to us even tried to slash us with is claws but it kept hitting the wall. I pulled out my knife and with both hands I stab its arm and kept stabbing it as blood pour out and start hitting my face as I slice it as well. The monster roared in pain as it pull out as the doors closed as I pushed the 1st button as the elevator start moving.

I breath in and out, trying to shake off the adrenaline from inside as I looked at monika who was quite shocked to see me like this. This made me felt awful, I might as well be that monster at this moment as I looked away, my hair shielding my horrible bloody face.

"I'm sorry, you have to witness that..."

"Yuri, i-is okay. You were trying to protect me and yourself. You have all the right to do that."

I look at her but I didn't turned my head to her, I don't know about this.

"Monika, why is this happening? Why are we being hunted by monsters?"

She was quiet, clearly contemplating her answer.

"I don't know yuri, that's what I would like to know."

"Will we ever get out of this? Is the others are all right?"

"I don't know, I don't know if they're in this mess as well. I, just hope they're alright."

"Me too."

I looked down, staring at monika pink shoes and notice that her stocking is cut up a little.

"Are you okay?"

"Hm? Yeah, i'm fine. You?"

I nod my head slowly.

"I'm okay."

The elevator stops as the door open, monika exit first as I follow afterwards. We were in a hall with poorly lit lights, as monika took lead.

"This way."

"Do you know where you're going?"

"Not really but the exit shouldn't be that far."

"Right."

We continue for a bit as we went through a door and was in the waiting room where the receptionish desk was at, that means the exit where right there.

"We made it!"

Monika said happily, i was too relief but it was short live as monika looked at me, but i wasn't so happy.

"What's wrong?"

"Monika, if we leave then we'll end up going to somewhere else. How are we even getting ourselves back home if we don't know where we're at?"

Monika was stun at my words, almost hurt but was sadden by it, i know i shouldn't be like this but this happen two times by now.

"Yuri, if you remember what i said, we will be getting out of this, if I get to go to many different places to find out the truth then i would. I don't want you to go through that too."

"But, what is it you're looking for?"

"I'm not sure but is something important, and i need to find out."

I wasn't sure if i would be spared.

"But, i might be going with you again."

"There's only one way to find out."

Monika turns around and straight to the doors as i follow afterwards. The doors side open as we were outside, it was dark and foggy all of a sudden, we were high up when we were in there.

We look around as we moved until monika was starting to tip around.

"Oh, no. Again... Bye yuri."

She collapse as i came to her aid but i was too slow to catch her: "monika-!"

But when she fell, she look like she disappeared in the fog: "Monika?"

I search around for her as i heard footsteps and heavy breathing, i got up and turned to the sound and saw a black silhouette of a tall person standing right beside a lamp post that shines a orange hue. I was stun in fear, he was standing there as i notice that he was wearing what seems to be a plague mask on.

"What the...? Who-?"

Suddenly he charge right at me with a long weapon that looked like a scythe and slice me, but before i could even reacted my vision went dark, and that was the last i remember.
