Unknown Skies part 29

Elsa and Sam both charged through the hallways of the castle towards the kitchens, which Anna had somehow set on fire. Both were wide eyed and terrified for their younger sister.

Both could smell smoke as they approached the kitchens and they could hear the sound of Anna screeching in fright as she, what Elsa and Sam were guessing, tried to put out the fire.

"What has she done this time?" Elsa thought aloud.

Sam looked at her quizzically,

"You mean Anna has done this before?" He asked.

All Elsa did was give Sam a look saying "You have NO idea!"

Once the two finally got to the kitchen doors, Elsa and Sam flung the doors open and immediately got blasted in the face with a wall of thick smoke!

"ANNA!" Elsa and Sam both yelled out.

"ELSA, SAM!" Anna called back, poking her face out of the smoke.

"What in Blazes happened here?!" Sam exclaimed.

"There's no time. I need help putting out the fire!" Anna replied.

Both Sam and Elsa leapt into action, Elsa racing to open the kitchen windows whilst Sam and Anna attacked the fire. Sam began swatting at the fire with a towel before he realised the futility of that act.

"THAT'S IT. IM HITTING THE SPRINKLERS!" Sam yelled as he dashed towards the wall in order to search for a valve to activate said sprinklers.

That was until Elsa's voice cut through the smoke,

"Sam, What are sprinklers?"

"Bugger" was all Sam could think at that exact moment. He had to think of an explanation quickly. Fire sprinklers didn't exist back in the 19th century, which is where Sam had guessed Arendelle was time wise when he had first seen Frozen.

"Sprinklers douse the room in water. They are meant to activate whenever there is a fire and put it out"

"You mean like this?" Elsa asked and in an instant, the entire kitchen was filled with a harsh snowstorm which very quickly put out the fire.

"Yep" Sam replied, spitting out a mouthful of snow when Elsa had stopped the storm and magicked away the snow. "That's exactly how a sprinkler system works. And why didn't you just do that in the first place?"

Elsa had a guilty look on her face as she replied with,

"You know I don't like using my magic all the time. I don't want either myself or anyone else to become too dependant on them"

Sam was about to reply, when Anna opened up an oven door and exclaimed,

"Oh no! They're ruined! Why can't I get these right?"

"Eh?" Sam and Elsa both said at the exact same time.

The two moved over to where Anna was standing, looking at what looked to be a charred black... Something.

"Anna... What are those?" Elsa asked with a mixture of curiosity and concern.

"Dan told me they were Sam's favourite food, Quesadillas, I think he called them. I thought I would make them as a surprise for Sam, considering how hard he has been working recently" Anna replied.

"Anna, Thank You. You didn't need to" Sam said to his sister in a tone that one would use when receiving the best birthday present ever.

"But I burnt them..." Anna replied to Sam.

"Ever heard of burnt ends?" Sam said back as he took out a knife and fork and began cutting a piece of the... What had been a quesadilla off from the rest and raising it to his mouth!

Elsa and Anna both made a face.

"Not to insult your Cooking Anna, but are you really going to eat that Sam?" Elsa exclaimed in disgust.

Sam didn't reply, he just put the piece of Quesadilla into his mouth and ate it!

Both Anna and Elsa looked like they wanted to throw up, Anna knew that Sam didn't want to upset her over her cooking disaster but this was going too far, any moment Anna and Elsa both expected Sam to eject the contents of his stomach over the floor.

Somehow he didn't, and instead of puking, Sam smiled and said to Anna,

"that's actually pretty nice. Although you will want to ease up on the chargrilling though."

Anna and Elsa's eyes both widened at Sam's statement, mainly at the fact that Sam was actually enjoying the burnt Quesadilla. And they didn't know why Sam liked the strange treat so much.

"You actually like it?" Anna asked in astonishment.

"Yeah I do. I love Quesadillas. How do you think they turn out when I try to cook them? That's why Just Eat was such a great app back in Leeds" Sam replied.

Elsa and Anna's curiosity was now peaked, so the two carefully picked out a piece of Quesadilla and gently took a bite. After biting through the hard crust, the taste of the filling flooded their mouths and let me tell you, if you asked either Anna or Elsa about that moment, they would say that Quesadilla was one of the finest meals that they ever had.

"Oh my! No wonder you like these things so much" Elsa exclaimed in delight.

Sam smiled at that and he turned around to grab three bottles of his favourite Fizzy Pop that he had stashed in one of the Cold Storage rooms. He gave one bottle to Anna and one to Elsa.

"Trust me, they'll go down wonderfully with the Quesadillas." He told them.

At that, the three opened up their bottles of pop (Irn Bru),

and Elsa said,

"To new adventures as a family"

"Cheers" Anna and Sam replied, clinking their bottles together.

As the Siblings ate their burned Quesadillas, drank their bottles of Irn Bru and decided how they were going to explain the damage to the Castle Repair staff, little did they know that somewhere far across the ocean, a force most certainly not friendly was gathering its strength and was awaiting the opportune moment to strike!
