Craft 3: Arrival Part 3

We are Taiso… Beacon Academy

Alborz:(smiles) Greeting, Artoria, Weiss. How are you all?

Alborz is a 5ft 1in man with light brown skin with amber eyes and black hair. He's dressed in a simple all white shirt with a red hoodless jacket with braided ornament on the outline of the jacket, black long pants and brown boots with black sols. Around his waist is a belt holding two holsters on both sides, holstering a pair of guns.

Artoria: Good, nice to see you here Alborz.

Weiss: Alborz Ali. Next in line of the Alborz Heavy Industries.

Black Ribbon: Schnee and Alborz both companies infamous for it's controversial labor forces and questionable business practices.

Weiss pauses. "Wha, but- the- The nerve." Weiss sputters, Alborz sighs and shrugs. "You say that, but I'm sure some pencil had the same story and you certainly didn't care about it." Alborz said back at Black Ribbon which catches off her guard. Sheesh, that's a thinker. "As… Colorful with your phrasing as ever." Artoria squeeks out, I look at Artoria in disbelief before looking at Alborz.

Taiso:(sweatdrop) "Colorful?" that's just depressing.

Alborz:(Crosses arms) Our whole world is depressing if you think about it.

Taiso: Sheesh man, no need to have a stick up your ass dude.

Alborz:(looks at Taiso) And just who do you think you are exactly?

Taiso: Uhh… A. Blacksmith?

Alborz raises an eyebrow looking at me and my backpack. "Wait, you just arrived? Where were you with the first group?" Alborz asks me, Artoria looks at me. "I was going to ask the same thing too." Artoria said looking at me. "Why weren't you here with the first ship?" Artoria asks me. "Uhh~..." I silently said.

Flashback…

I look around in a crowded city center. I turn to someone. "Excuse me. Which way to the Docks?" I ask, the man gives me an absolutely confused look as he points towards the right. "You're going in the complete opposite way." The man said, I look in the direction of where he is pointing to see that I'm on the complete other side.

Taiso:... Oh…(smiles) Thanks… OH SHIT!(runs off)

Present…

Taiso: I... got the wrong time.(looks away) I ended up missing the ship… Thus I called for another.

Alborz:(raises eyebrow) You got the wrong time?... Fuh… Okay.(walks away)

Weiss:(follows Alborz) Wha-Hey! Where are you going?

"Anywhere but here!" Alborz shouts back, Artoria with a concerned face takes out a pamphlet and notes then hands them to me. "Here, a map of the area. You had better get going… I'll make sure that those two don't cause too much." Artoria said walking off after the two. "I promise I'll make it up to you!" Red Hood said, I turn towards Black Ribbon. "Hey could I get-" I stop myself as I see Black Ribbon walk towards the ships… I turn to Red Hood to see her slumped to the ground and a blond haired man putting out his hand. "Hey… Names Jeanne." He introduces himself. "Rwby." Red Hood responds…

Taiso:(turns away and looks at map) O-Okay… Guess I'll just figure it out myself… How bad could it be?

30 minutes later…

Taiso:(looking around)... Okay. It's official… I'm lost.

I look around finding myself in some kind of large forest garden greenhouse. Wow, this is amazing tho, so many different plants from all over Remnant. Walking through the Garden I find a large Sakura tree with a small pond around the tree, sitting at the edge of the pond under the shade of the tree with her blade in its sheath sitting before her. Ah! A person! I can ask them where I am! I quietly walk over to the person.

The girl is 5ft 9in in height with blue eyes, black hair, her body is in prime shape with her chest being flat. Dressed a modified blue kimono with gold floral patterns. The Kimono is modified to still be traditional but with maximum mobility, as well as some pouches for items. She wears a belt that holds said pouches.

Taiso: Umm… Excuse me?

Girl:(opens eyes)... Yes? Do you need something?

Taiso:(scratches back of head) I'm sorry to bother you, but I can't seem to find my way.

Girl:(looks at Taiso) You're lost huh?... Where are you trying to go?

"Thank you, I'm trying to get to the armory." I said, the girl gives me the same look as the man back at the dock city. Oh no… "It's on the other side of the campus." The Girl said, I looked back down at my map Artoria gave me. "Really? I thought I was going the right way this time!" I said, looking back at the map. The Girl sighs standing up walking over to me. "Maybe you shouldn't hold the map upside down?" The Girl points out I look at the map then flip it. "Oooh~! That's why all the worlds were backwards!" I exclaimed, knocking the back of my head. Man I feel dumb.

Girl:(sweatdrop) How… How do you not realise that when looking at the map?

Taiso: Well I mean, I thought Vale had some kind of backwards wording.

Girl: Bu-But, every major kingdom uses the same common language.

Taiso:(shrugs) Well, my village used a different language so I've just known other languages.

"What?" The Girl asks me, very confused. "いや、たっだわたちたちのうちにべっつのゆうことばがつかているのから。" I said the Girl asks again. Right, different language. "Sorry, I just said that my village used an older language in comparison to the kingdoms." I explained, she gave me a clear look of frustration before letting out a sigh from her lips. "Okay, sure. Whatever." The girl said, shrugging and turning away. "You can find your way now can't you?" The girl asks.

Taiso:(nods) Yup!... Actually, one last question… Where am I?

Girl:(sweatdrop) Sigh~ Garden, look at the Legend, number 5.

Taiso:(looks) Let's see… Ah! Thanks! Now I got it, thank you… What is your name? Wait, I should introduce myself first.(puts out hand) I am Taiso Umehara, nice to meet you.

Shizuka:(looks at Taiso) Shizuka Sakura… Nice meeting you, Umehara.

Taiso:(nods) You too thanks!(waves) Bye!

Turn and walk away, but before I leave the room I glance back at Shizuka's blade. Ooh, that looks impressive. Shizuka glances back at me. Buuut, I get the feeling if I headed back to ask her, she'd cut my head off. I simply wave and leave the room. This time feeling a bit more confident in where I'm supposed to go.

Near the Armory…

I walk down the hallway, I look back down at the map and at the signs. I'm definitely near… I turn a corner and down a hall. I look up from my map as I see a man with a shield and spear in a silent prayer… That shield… I walk over to look at the shield. This shield is… I lean in to take a closer look. The shield- "Find something interesting with my shield?" The man said looking up.

Taiso:(Steps back) Whoa, sorry. Didn't want to bother, but that shield of yours is quite impressive.

Man:(looks at shield) I see…(holsters weapon) Would you like to see it?(holds up shield)

Taiso: Oh, thank you. I'll be careful.(takes shield) This is… Oh~ the armor plates can shift and expand, more surface area can cover more area, that's brilliant, hmm?(looks at the inside of the shield) Oooh~, dust canisters… Oh, do the gaps in the shield also allow for the shield to be used in offence? Wait, considering the edges of the shield can fold away… A way to maneuver the shield if… Thrown, I see! So the inside allows for the shield to maneuver around the battlefield. I wonder what other functions it has!

Man:(chuckles) Well, I'm surprised you glammed so much from so little. I assume you're a Hunter in training perhaps?

Taiso:(shakes head) No, I am a new blacksmith coming to join here. Oh, here's your shield back.(hands shield) I'm trying to find the Armory

Man: Oh, then you're going in the wrong direction. But you are close.(points down the hall) Continue down that hall and it's the door straight ahead.

Taiso:(turns around) Really?... Man. I really have to figure out my terrible sense of direction… Thanks, I assume you're a Hunter in Training?

The man takes his shield back and holsters it on his back. "That I am." The man said, he put out his hand to me. "Leonidas Waller." Leo introduces.

Leonidas is a 6ft 2in tall man with short brown hair and amber eyes. His body is primed and muscular in every way. He's dressed in a red shirt, with a leather jacket, brown pants with black running shoes. A shield holder is strapped to the back with magnets to hold the shield and a second weapon. Around the waist is a series of pouches to hold ammo, supplies, etc.

I take his hand and shake it. "Taiso Umehara, it's nice to meet you Leonidis, may I call you Leo?" I ask him, he shrugs. "That's okay… Hmm, while it's nice meeting you, I must go. Orientation will start soon." Leo said, I backed up to give him some room.

Taiso: Right, sorry. I won't be in your way. Thanks for the directions, I hope to see you around!

Leo:(nods) Since you are a Blacksmith, we are sure to meet again. Till next time Umehara.

With that Leo leaves heading back towards the front of the campus. Is he heading towards orientation?... Well, whatever. At least I finally got here. I turned around and walked over to the Armory, entering the armory, I saw a store front with weapons, parts, ammo, armor, and everything a Hunter would need. Further in the back of the room is a counter and beyond that is the forge. Standing behind the counter is a large Fanus man. A Bull Fanus. Maybe the master here? Well… One way to find out. I approach the counter, the man looks up at me.

Man: If you're- Oh, wait a minute. You're the one who's late huh?

Taiso:(bows) My apologies for being late! I am Taiso Umehara, ready to help out!

Paul: Why were you even...(waves hand) Forget it, good that you're here. The name is Paul Bullson. I'm the head of the Armory Staff here. Considering where you came from the Hephaestus Foundries, consider me you're Forge Master.

Taiso:(nods) Yes, Master.

Paul:(puts up hand) I know I just said you should consider me the Master, but please don't call me that. I prefer Boss, it creeps people out less.(waves) Don't ask why. But still, because you're late, you'll help take inventory off all the new students' weapons and equipment. You'll get your introduction to the Forge after, understood?

Taiso:(smiles) Yes ma-I mean Boss!

Paul smiles and nods at my response. "Good. Now get ready, Orientation should be ending soon." Paul said, gesturing for me to come behind the counter. I pass a door inside, then put my stuff down, then sit down in front of a computer with a password to access the computer. Paul hands me a small book and pats me on the shoulder. I open it and give the book a quick skim… Okay. I access the computer and bring up what I need. Okay, I'm ready. I got this! Just then a massive mob of people walk into the armory… I look around to see I'm the only one on duty…

Taiso: Fuck.
