Chapter Two
The Light's Chosen
Foot-steps could be heard across the hall, running at a swift pace, the shadow on the wall revealing a some-what small in stature, young man, around the age of seventeen, running toward his grand-father's large Library, granted he could have 'flown' but he didn't want the other candidates that were picked along with him, to see him, because He was the one chosen, though it was kind of obvious, and it was bound to be him, for he was Descended directly from the Original Dragoon of Light, Heba Arcania, though the Arcania family had all but died out a thousand years ago, Heba was reborn... now once again he wielded his power, the control over his element, and once again the Dragoon of Light walked the earth.
Finally coming to a stop the young man panted and straightened up, when the clouds moved away from the sun, its light revealed the young man, golden blond bangs graced a gentle yet strong face, with gorgeous slightly narrowed Amethyst eyes, and soft pink lips, the rest of his hair was ebony black, much like Prince Atem's but unlike the Prince's hair, the young man's hair was tipped in a reddish-violet and was very soft to to the touch, many wondered how his hair spiked up with it being as soft as it was.
"Yugi! there you are" the young man turned at the sound of his name and he smiled, as his long time friend Rebecca Hawkins ran up beside him, she too had been a candidate for the Light stone but ultimately...
"you were chosen.." she stated, looking down at the white stone around Yugi's neck, she wasn't jealous of her friend, and somewhere in the back of her mind she knew.. that Yugi would be the one to wield the power, after all everyone knew the legend, and everyone..deep down knew that Yugi Hikari Mutou, the first of his name, and the Direct Descendant, possible reincarnation, of Heba Arcania, would be the one to wield the power of the White Dragon.
Yugi nodded "chose me at sunrise..." Yugi's voice was as gentle as his looks, but there was a sense of strength behind the gentleness, Rebecca nodded "so where are you headed?" she asked, and Yugi straightened a bit, before he relaxed,
"I was heading toward the library because I wanted to see something, right after the stone accepted me I received a vision.. one that, I'm sure will come to pass" Rebecca looked concerned, though she knew her friend was special, she didn't think he would also receive visions like Heba had back then.
"what was it of?" she asked wearily as the two of them entered the library together, they were both of the studious nature, though Rebecca also took time to have fun and just be a kid, since she was six years younger than Yugi, and many people thought it was odd that they became friends, though many thought it was weird that Yugi's grandfather, Lord Solomon Mutou, and her grandfather, Lord Arthur Hawkins, were also very good friends, and had been for fifty years or more.
"It was of a battle, one that had not only myself but six other individuals in it, I couldn't see who they were but I did see that they were wielding the other six elements of the dragoons", Yugi sighed as he looked to her, " I'm not quite sure what it means, but I know that there are others out there, and they might be needing me soon"
Rebecca nodded, her blonde pigtails bobbing, she looked at how her friend was dressed, in a white robe with matching white boots, and silver jewelry, he wore a small crown on his head, which signified his high rank, he wasn't a prince or anything, but the Mutou family were among the richest nobles in their town, probably the richest if she thought about it, and she also spotted that he was wearing a white leather choker under the robe, she rolled her eyes, knowing that Yugi had a small 'obsession' with leather, and how it hugged his form, though he was small, he was swift, and quite deadly with a blade, she even seen him wield a scythe once.
The two went deep into the library, before they spotted their respective grandfathers both leaning over a table and looking at what appeared to be a large book, Rebecca ran up and hugged her grandfather, earning a chuckle from the elder, before they both looked up, old Solomon's eyes widened as he saw the gem on his grandson's neck, before he grinned
"the new dragoon I presume?", he asked, which earned him a nod from Yugi, the elder smiled " I'm proud of you, Yugi, I had a feeling that Seraphim would choose you over all the other candidates"
Yugi tilted his head, looking at his grandfather, but he shrugged and looked at the book, before he sat down, Solomon looked concerned as he noticed his grandson seemed overly concerned about something
"what is it my boy?", he asked
Yugi looked to him, "I had a vision, when I received the spirit... I already told Becca, but the vision may be important"
Solomon sat down, "what was the vision?"
Yugi sighed, "it was of a battle, one that had not only myself but six other dragoons in it, the other elements were present, I couldn't see who the wielders were, but I knew that I would be joining them, and soon..." he trailed off
both Solomon and Arthur sighed "we knew that eventually you would have to travel to Domino, and train with the other six dragoons, as the magic school there has the other six as students, we're not for sure who they are, but we know that the Prince of Domino, Prince Atemu... is the current Dragoon of Darkness, your complete opposite"
Yugi looked shocked "wait isn't he?" he asked and Solomon nodded
"yes, the Reincarnation of Pharaoh Atemu, the first Dragoon of Darkness, like you, Atemu is descended directly from Atemu, and is named after him, you are as well, being that Heba, in Japanese translates to 'Yugi' " the elder grinned at that, causing Yugi to blush.
Yugi moved around and looked down at what the elders were looking at, his head tilted in a cute manner, before he hummed softly, he wondered when his grandfather would send him off to Domino City, but then again, he wasn't so sure if he should go, after all their small village was only protected by Seraphim's spirit and since Yugi was her Dragoon... she would leave and go with him, leaving the village unprotected, and this worried the young man greatly.
Solomon noticed the worry that was evident in his grandson's eyes, he tilted his head and then he smiled softly, before he reached out and gave his only grandson a gentle squeeze to his shoulder, this caused the younger Mutou to look to his grandfather and then nod in a slight manner, silently thanking his elder for offering quiet but gentle reassurance that everything would be okay.
"we'll soon prepare for you to travel to Domino, for now however you need to train your armor and see if you can get to at least 3rd level" Solomon stated
Yugi nodded and looked down at the crystal around his neck, "would it be better for me to go all the way? because, and I'm just assuming this, but what if Prince Atemu is fully powered and maxed out by the time I get there?"
Solomon tapped his chin, and then scratched his beard, "that would be logical, okay then, going by your assumption, I suggest you train to full power, including summoning Seraphim, from what I heard Prince Atemu is quite the talented young man, in both magic and strength so he may be well ahead of you, and that means you need to work hard to get on his level"
Yugi made a soft groan and nodded, "I know I can do it, question is; will Seraphim be willing?"
It took roughly five months for Yugi to fully master his armors, powers and summoning Seraphim, the great white dragon seemed to glow with Ethereal beauty, her electric blue eyes seemed to spark with pure lightning, even though there was an Elemental Dragon Lord of Thunder, Seraphim was considered the Queen of them all, her mate of course was the Elemental guardian of Darkness, and Yugi was wondering if Atemu had accomplished the same feat as he did, granted he was sure that the Prince had indeed, according to his grandfather's watchers within Domino City.
the young Light lord sighed as he transformed into his armor, his wings glowing in brilliant rainbow colors as he looked to his grandfather, Solomon smiled to him and nodded, while a large floating cargo disk appeared, Yugi rolled his eyes, knowing his grandfather made sure he was well prepared for the journey to Domino, the disk contained the normal things one carries when traveling but also carried a hover bike just in case Yugi got tired of flying, which the young man totally doubted wouldn't happen, after all, he enjoyed flying through the skies on his own wings, though he also enjoyed riding Seraphim, as she allowed him to ride her unlike most of the Elemental Lords, who would balk at being ridden by humans.
Solomon walked forward, "be careful going to Domino, Yugi, and stay along the road, Rafael has said that there are bandits in the brushes"
Yugi smiled and nodded before he rolled his eyes lightly, "don't worry, grandpa, I plan to fly most of the time, but I will watch myself"
the two then hugged and Yugi stepped back, waving to Rebecca, the young Light Lord spread his wings and jumped skyward, turning he saluted the other students of the small academy that was in his small home town, before he turned back and flew off, heading toward his own adventure.
Solomon watched his grandson take off, watching the his light trail until it was gone, before he sighed and looked down at the gem on his neck
"please watch over him, Lady Seraphim, guide him and his fellows in this oncoming storm"
Meanwhile as Yugi traveled toward Domino, Yami stood and panted, having just fully summoned his Elemental Dragon, the beast was massive, and solid black with red markings flashing through his out-stretched wings, Yami gazed up at the Shadow Lord, who slowly lowered his massive head, Osiris of the Shadow Talon seemed to almost smirk as he raised his fore-talon and touched the tip of it to Yami's head, as the shadows danced around him
::Now, you are ready:: came Osiris' deep voice within Yami's mind, the Prince shuddered and nodded, watching as Osiris turned and looked out toward the ocean, his scales glowing brightly amidst the shadows that surrounded him and his chosen.
::she comes, my young friend, within a week, my lady of Light shall be here, along with your destined partner, he is just as powerful as you are::
Yami looked shocked, and stared up at the dragon, his crimson eyes wide as he realized what Osiris was saying, that the Dragoon of Light... would soon arrive and train with his fellows, Yami wondered what the wielder looked like, he turned to look at his father, seeing Aknamkanun look concerned, as Osiris seemed to tower over Yami, which meant that Yami would become the most powerful of the dragoons, though Atemu had been strong in the past, the Legends had stated that Heba, the Light Dragoon was as equally strong, if not stronger than Atemu, which worried the king of Domino.
Osiris turned his massive head and looked to the King ::you best not think of harming the Light lord, King Aknamkanun, because I will tell you now, he would demolish you, despite being a gentle soul::
Yami looked up at his dragon, "wait, what do you mean by that?" he asked, curiosity was in his eyes as well as concern, mainly for his father and what the elder man was planning
::I mean that he will defend himself, and others if he is attacked in anyway, he is no pushover and I am merely cautioning your father, the gears of destiny are already in motion, and he can not change their course no matter what he tries::
"that sounds ominous", Yami commented, as he placed the sword in his left hand into his right, he could use either hand, being ambidextrous, but it seemed the shadow sword fit much better in his right, he tilted his head and glanced to Osiris
"was Atemu ambidextrous like me?" he asked the dragon
::no, he was right handed, though he could have chosen to use either hand, he preferred his right::
Yami nodded, and spun the sword before slashing it creating a wave of black fire... his eyes widened as Osiris made a rumbling laugh
:: did I forget to mention that little trick? Atemu was gifted with magic, and could combine the elements without having to use the other dragoon spirits, that wave of fire... could do a lot of damage in a short amount of time, and I personally trained him to master that, just as I will train you::
"could any of the other dragoons combine the elements?" Aknamkanun asked as he watched the black fire burn out, leaving a black mark on the ground where it had stopped after Atemu had shot it from his sword
::they could have, but only Atemu and Heba truly mastered Elemental Combination, Heba's was a mix of Light and Darkness, he was proud of it, while Atemu had two combo attacks, the Shadow Fire and Shadow Lightning::
Yami nodded and soon started practicing, though only the shadow fire technique as he was unsure about the shadow lightning, he had asked Osiris about it, and the great black dragon had suggested to wait until the Thunder dragon lord was summoned and capable of teaching, Aknamkanun watched his son train and he looked concerned, he wasn't sure if he would truly allow the light lord to come near his son, as he feared that if the two met and got to know each other than history would repeat itself, and once again his family would be cursed... and he did not want that, period.
the Pharaoh soon left the training grounds, summoning his general and council, to let them know what Osiris had said, and to prepare for the arrive of the Dragoon of Light and to possibly stop the boy, if it was a boy anyway, from getting to know Atemu, and destroying the Sennen family, like Heba Arcania did so long ago.
