Chapter 31: Saving the day

Spider-Man is not having a great day. This day just keeps getting better and better. First, Electro escapes from Rykers, and the one who sent him free is Cletus Kasady; that is his first problem. His second problem is that after chasing him around the block, it landed them back in the same quarantine section of S.H.I.E.L.D. After a brief scuffle landed him to fight more symbiote-infected civilians to chase him once again.

Luckily for him, Teresa used her developing powers to ease the burden from him in her semi-transformed state, helping subdue the symbiote-infected civilians who were absorbed into her form. She felt the goo cover her more by drinking the symbiotes from these infected people.

A third problem, Electro is not the only supervillain to escape Rykers. Many of his rogues have fled, including Mach X, Kraven, Mysterio, Scorpion, Chameleon, and even Fisk henchmen The Hippo, Panda-Mania Trapstr, The Beetle, and a new villainess by the name of Shriek. Today was not his day, for when his scuffle with Electro was done, Spider-Man marches up to Black Widow after she shot him with a demanding voice, "What the heck are you doing?! You didn't have to shoot him!"

"You answer my questions, wallcrawler!" The redhead shot back

"I don't answer to no one! Especially those who think I did something wrong!"

"Max! Max! Are you okay?!"

Spider-Man turns to see another redhead being held back by SHIELD authorities; he turns his attention to Black Widow when she nudges him roughly, "I have news footage of you throwing off civilians off the rooftop."

He is about to retort when his duality sense starts to tingle. He turns around, hearing the same voice again, "Let me go! That's my brother!" He couldn't pinpoint why his duality sense was triggering.

"I said let go!"

When he saw it, the goo that manifested itself on her, "NO! STOP HER!"

It is too late to do so as she jumps on Electro's lifeless body, and the goo transfers from the redhead girl to him. Spider-Man acts quickly, web pulling the young woman from the once unconscious Electro too his arms. Checking for a pulse, he finds that she is fine, but the crackling of the electric current from Electro and his spider-sense told him to move.

The power surge from the now symbiote-infected Electro began to destroy several buildings, lampposts, and cars. Spidey swallowed dryly; Electro was doing the same thing when he had the Nexus device on him; this time, however, the power was coming from the symbiote.

"Oh, boy…"

"LOOK OUT!" Teresa screams

With the surge of power, Electro electric field partially desolates the small area of collapsing buildings. It pushes many people to the ground, as exploding parked cars are denoted, blinding white light shines. It is truly a war zone; bodies litter the floor of semi-conscious personnel or civilians, bricks all over.

Meanwhile, Spider-Man held on to the petite redhead shielding her from the blast as Black Widow lay next to him. Groggily the older redhead gets up, clutching her head and shaking it from the cobwebs in her head.

Her ears rang, her eyes were blurry, and she looked this way to find everything looking like trees running about. When her vision begins to clear, she spots Spider-Man lying next to her with the more petite redhead in his arms, holding on very protectively. She notes that he is regaining consciousness.

With some effort, she gets up to a sitting position clutching her side; she knows there are some broken bones. She felt something hit her in the stomach area; huffing, she finally said, "You are under arrest."

Meanwhile, back at the warehouse

Cindy, Felicia, Ororo, and Angelica watch as Corey superspeed up and down the Salmon Ladder, hearing rapid clanks. Their heads bob up and down as they follow the trail of his rapid body heck. Even Logan found this a little more entertaining than sitting behind a computer monitor. Corey mentioned that he didn't have time to finish the warehouse, but he completed a small gym when he was done with his interview with Cindy.

"Um…how often does he do this?" Cindy asks

"Just recently…" Ororo says

"He's doing this because he's bored." Felicia stated

CLANK, CLANK, CLANK, CLANK, CLANK, CLANK, CLANK, CLANK, CLANK, CLANK, CLANK, CLANK, CLANK, CLANK, CLANK, CLANK, CLANK, CLANK, CLANK, CLANK, CLANK, CLANK, CLANK, CLANK, CLANK, CLANK, CLANK, CLANK, CLANK, CLANK.

Corey drops to the floor with a minor thud, expertly twirling the bar in his hand, a trick he picked up from his late mentor Diana. He comments, "I don't see what so hard about that."

Ororo snorted amusingly, "Well…not everyone has your speed and strength, Corey."

"True."

"Pass it over here, Starboy." Logan grunts. Corey tosses the bar to Logan, and the feral mutant catches it with ease beginning his workout session.

Felicia notes that he hasn't broken a sweat; it intrigues her. She wonders what powers this man possesses besides the super speed, ability to put out fires, and strength. She clicks her tongue, "Corey, right?"

"Yes, Ms. Hardy, what can I help you with."

The blonde woman is silent for just a moment trying to formulate a conversation with him. She thinks briefly before saying, "I'm surprised to know that you know my name when you called me out in your little crystal palace."

"Yeah, now that you mentioned it, how did you know our names?" Cindy ask

Corey looks toward Ororo; she shrugs and places her hands up. He got the message, 'You're on your own.' He looks at the blonde- and raven-haired women, "Welp, I don't know how much you want to believe me. Cindy already knows because I told her after the interview and some of the X-Men. I know you guys because I have read a comic book about you a lot."

"Comic books?" Felicia asked with skepticism in her voice, "You must be joking."

"No, it's true." Corey replies, "Where I was originally from, there are adventures of how we dub it the 'Marvel' universe. I was interested in the life of Spider-Man wanting to use his powers for good instead of wanting to use it for his own selfish gain." He pauses, letting this statement sink, "You, Ms. Hardy…."

"Felicia…"

"I beg your pardon…."

"Ms. Hardy is too formal; please call me by my first name Felicia." She responds, "I don't believe your statement that you read comics book about us."

"Very well, Felicia, I know who you are, Black Cat, daughter of the famous cat burglar 'The Cat' Walter Hardy." Felicia's breath hitched, and her eyes widened, "I see that I have your attention now. I don't appreciate the fact, Felicia, that you chose the life of a thrill-seeker over that of Peter. Between you and Cindy, I can see you with Peter with either of you."

Cindy growls at this, "He's mine and mine alone."

"Cool your jets, Cindy. I'm just making an observation; no need to get your hair in a knot."

Felicia swallows, "S-so what else do you know?"

"Well, let me see, there's the Fantastic Four, the X-Men, the Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, Thanos the mad titan and his black order, I can go on and on, but I'm not going to." He says with a shrug, "I can be here for days on end naming every faction and individual that I know of but rest assured, I come from a dimension that makes you guys fictional, and I've read some of your stories."

"Yeah? If you know so much about us, then tell me…." Cindy curiously goes up to the taller man, "Do you know who Iam?"

"Well, you are Cindy Moon, also known as Silk and the avatar of a powerful spider-totem called The Bride. You have a unique ability to cause people to be bitten at random throughout the multiverse. Your parents are Nari and Albert Moon Sr., while your brother is Albert Jr. I will say no more."

Cindy is stunned, silent. After a tense moment of silence, she squeaks, "Y-you know about the totem business?"

"I do. I also know why you are attracted to Peter…." This got Felicia's attention, "The reason is that you two got bitten by the same spider, which makes you share the spider-sense. You both could sense each other and communicate telepathically if you got to that point."

Everyone is silent now, minus Logan grunting hopping from one bar of the Salmon Ladder to the other, not paying attention to the conversation. Cindy licks her lips, "Do y-you know what happened to my parents or my brother?"

Scratching the back of his head, he looks at her pleading eyes, "Your relatives, I don't know what happened to them as I didn't get far in your series to know effectively. You and your mother didn't get along that well; your father is a bit lenient with you; however, your brother is unknown."

Cindy's heart sank. With no way to verify if her relatives are dead, she will have to do something about it after this symbiote fiasco. Peter promised to help find her missing family; it didn't hit her until she had this sudden realization, "Oh no! With this alien invasion, my relatives could be out there…they could be infected!"

When Corey stops her, she is about to take off, "Let go of me! I need to find them!"

"Cindy, listen to reason! Do you even know where to start looking?" She immediately stopped struggling, worry etched on her face. Corey continues, "Do you know where they are? You are running a fool's errand if you think you will go through 8,000,000 people in the city just to find them. Finding them will take days, weeks, months, or years."

She closes her eyes, gritting her teeth. She gives an annoyed, "Harumph…." Her brows furrowed, "I can't just sit here and do nothing."

"You can and you will." Corey responds, "With all this going on. I'm surprised the Inheritors haven't made a move on you or the Spider-Verse since you are out of your bunker."

Just then, Gam-Vil comes in, "Sir, I have urgent news."

"What is it, Gam-Vil?"

"It appears that Spider-Man has been arrested…."

"WHAT!" The three girls shouted at the top of their lungs. Ororo gasped, and Logan snarled; Corey remained impassive.

"By whom?" The emerald man asks

"By S.H.I.E.L.D."

Now Logan snarled furiously, "That is not good. SHIELD is one of the most secure places to escape; no one can get out without Fury's say-so."

"We have to help him!" Angelica cried

"Where is this S.H.I.E.L.D located?!" Felicia snarled fury is written all over her face

"Why would they arrest him?" Cindy stamped her foot

They were spit-firing questions after questions until Ororo managed to calm them down with Logan going up to Corey.

"Well, I didn't see this coming."

"Expect the unexpected. Now that bug boy got himself with hot waters with S.H.I.E.L.D. What are you going to do now?"

Corey looks at him, "Call the professor and let him know. I'm going to pay S.H.I.E.L.D a little visit."

Logan eyes him suspiciously, "Kid, what are you planning? You go messing with S.H.I.E.L.D you be on their radar. And you don't know where to start looking for them either, so how are you going to do it?"

Just the facts with J. Jonah Jameson

Jameson: "At last! After a decade of that wall-crawling menace swinging around the city, authorities finally took the wall-crawler into custody! Justice will prevail for that lunatic for throwing the people off the buildings! Let the record show that I will personally unmask this vigilante known as Spider-Man when his trial commences and have exposed him for the criminal that he truly is. Please be careful. The city is a mess, and an infection runs rampant."

Arctic Circle, the Fortress of Solitude

When Corey arrives too the Fortress, he is greeted by Xavier. Along with him is Shadow Cat, Cyclops, Marvel Girl, Nightcrawler, and Rogue; after being given a clean state by Mr. McCoy, Iceman, Storm, and Beast are in his main computer room. Logan decided to remain behind in case more symbiotes chose to pop up.

A few words are exchanged with each other, with the professor explaining his concerns about his student-facing SHIELD, "Corey, while I admit this, the situation is becoming more dangerous. Do you really want to put a target on your back? SHIELD is not an organization to be trifled with. I don't need to remind you that a direct confrontation is not something I teach at my school."

"Welp, I might as well put one on my back. I did hack into every data possible here on the Earth, both national and international; I have every single one of their data banks, including a conspiracy against this great country I call America."

Everyone is floored by this revelation, "Are you serious?" Cyclops asks

"Very, I won't go into details, so that is something I will keep to myself. I'm not asking you guys to come with me on this mission. I can take the heat, but you can't expect me to sit by to do nothing when we don't know half the trouble that is going on in New York City. Spider-Man is key to all this mishap, and we need him."

"Like, what can you do? It's not like you can fly to wherever he is, can you?" Kitty leans forward; Corey looks at her with a blank face which turns to a smirk, "I was kidding; you can fly!"

"Hover, actually. I fear heights that must be overcome first." He looks over to the striped mutant, "Though Rouge did float for a few feet when she absorbed some of my power."

Everyone eyes the untouchable mutant, "What? Wha is everyone lookin' at may lahk that?"

"Is because of you fancy girl."

She rolled her eyes while chuckling, "Stop it, Corey, gist, stop."

Nightcrawler brings the focus back to this insane plan, "So vhat is your plan if you going to rescue Spider-Man?"

Corey sighs, looking at the yellow eyes of the blue-tailed mutant, "I have no idea what I am going to do. To be honest, I didn't think that far ahead."

They faltered a bit, groaning at his expensive. Corey tilted his head a little bit as Scott hung his arm around Corey's shoulders, "Look, when you are with the X-Men, you're never alone, Core, but you can't go up against an organization that pretty much helped; create the Avengers."

"Sure, I can. I am invulnerable." He has a toothy grin on him

Scott couldn't help a smile, "Cut the jokes, man."

"Ah, Scott, if we take life too seriously, we are nothing more than prickly cactuses."

"Regarding your flight training, we have the Black Bird here just if you need it." Charles chimed in, "Now what will you do, young man?"

"Well, I need to speak with Mary Jane, and then I'll figure out what to do."

"Very well, allow me to follow you for a brief moment." Xavier leaves the room

Corey looks at Scott; he shrugs. The emerald eye man leaves with Ororo following behind. When they are at a safe distance, Charles clears his throat, "*Ahem*" Corey pauses in his step to look at the man in the wheelchair, "Corey, I want to bring something to your attention, earlier today, Magento has been asking about you."

The young man's face got serious, "What for?"

"For possible recruitment." Ororo says, "You are a gifted individual; he'll stop at nothing to get his hands on you."

"I like to see him try."

"Take extreme precaution. Erik is not a man who takes failure or potential mutants lightly if they refuse his offer. He will use everything in his arsenal to try to convince you otherwise."

He looks at Ororo, flashes of his doomed world race in his mind. He shakes his head, stilling his thoughts for a moment by closing his eyes, "I will be on guard."

The two older mutants watch his retreating back; the telepath looks at his first student, "Are you sure you don't need help, Ororo? Given what you told me, Corey is suffering from PTSD. I do have a Ph.D. degree in psychology. I do not know the extent of this, but I am willing to help a student in need."

"I am fine, Charles; I will do this my way." The white-haired woman reassures him, "I will get Corey to open to me. I think I may have the know-how. Surprisingly, Logan has given me an opinion. I think I may take his advice."

"Logan giving advice. Well, that is surprising." Charles smirks

Corey walks to Mary Jane. The other three girls decide to stay behind to ensure Peter returns safely. Cindy asks Corey to inform Mary Jane, since she was his ex-fiancée, about the situation despite Felicia's protest.

The blonde is outvoted when the red-head mutant tells her that if it were her detained by S.H.I.E.L.D, Peter would have said something to them eventually, and he would have come up with a plan to rescue her.

Reluctantly, she agreed.

When MJ is informed of this, she is furious with what is happening. She begins to rant about how unfair this situation was, and she couldn't believe that the government authorities did that to Peter. Corey notices she is worried about him than usual and that her feelings run deeper than she is hinting at, but he isn't too sure.

So, after that was done, MJ agreed to head back to New York City to assess the situation with her own eyes. Gayle is out of the medic wing, but she asked if she could stay given her run-in with the symbiote; Corey agreed.

(Insert Man of Steel Flight)

Now in front of the entrance to his Fortress, it hisses open with his cape blowing softly. He looks upon the land as his snow neighbors ignore him since he is far away. The arctic tundra is a vast, dry, rocky place noted for its lack of trees. In fact, the word "tundra" comes from the Finnish word tunturi, meaning 'treeless plain. 'One crucial characteristic of the tundra is the permafrost below the topsoil; the ground is permanently frozen year-round.

Perhaps no other wildlife symbolizes the frozen tundra regions of the Earth, as do polar bears. They camouflage from prey on the snow and ice to adapt to this harsh environment's white appearance. Their thick layers of fat and fur help insulation against the cold as a small surface area to volume ratio minimize heat loss. As he leaves from the entrance of the Fortress, Ororo comes with him, and he looks at her.

"Yes?"

"Aren't you cold?"

"I'm immune to extreme temperatures, both hot and cold." Despite her ability to manipulate the weather, she still hated the cold; she preferred the warmer weather. Snow and the cold made everything look so barren. She walks with her pupil side by side as he hums.

Corey remains silent for the most part, his thoughts racing in his mind, thinking about how he will fly. He attempted flight when Clark was helping him control his strength. The best he could do was a power leap over very tall buildings in a single bound.

The words of Clark echo in his mind as he looks at the tundra; he remembers the conversation that he had a month after they found him. He remembers the conversation he had with him one night as the snow crunches underneath his feet, "What's going to be so different about me, Clark? I'm human just as my fellow man."

"I'll tell you what my biological father told me..."

Storm looks at her pupil, wondering what is going through his head; his eyes look down as he walks the snow-covered path. His face is serious, much more than expected. The wind, somewhat gusting rapidly, allows her hair to be blown to the side in the breeze. She, too, had much to think about where she wanted to take this relationship. Of course, they had to take things slow, but she felt that she wasn't ready to do so, at least not yet.

"Earth's sun is much brighter and younger than Krypton. Your newly transformed cells have drunken in its radiation, strengthening your muscles, skin, and senses..."

Throwing herself into a relationship wasn't exactly on her top to-do list, but if a relationship must form, let it be one of comradery, and it blossoms, it blossoms. She looks towards Corey, his eyes still looking down at the snowy ground, his mouth with a frown. She places her hand on his shoulder, "Corey?"

"Hm?" The young man looks at her, gesturing with his eyes.

"What are you thinking about?" She asks

Corey doesn't answer her as he looks towards the sky; he remembers what Clark told him, "Earth gravity is weaker, yet its atmosphere is much more nourishing. You grow stronger with each passing year than your fellow man…."

Corey acted as if he didn't hear her. The white-haired mutant is miffed, her eyes narrowing, "Corey, I asked a simple question. Why do you not answer me?"

"The only way to know how strong you will become…."

The young man lifts his heel a few inches off the ground in a motion that doesn't escape the attention of the weather manipulator. She sees he masks up, unsure of what he will do now. She saw his body tense up…she saw him crouch a little bending his knees just slightly.

"Is to test your limits."

Before she knew it, Corey does a power jump away from her causing her to fall back into the snow thanks to his sonic boom taking off. Quickly, she gets up, seeing a streak of air following him. Storm pushes her hair strand behind her ear and promptly gathers the wind to help keep up with her student.

At the same time, Corey lands, creating a crater beneath him. As much as he hated heights, this was an emergency for him to overcome his fears. Corey bounced into the air again, creating another sonic boom before landing, creating another crater. He jumped again much further than the first two times before he finally jumped, soaring through the air. Ororo quickly catches up to him as he struggles to stay afloat.

Her jaw is unhinged; she never thought she would see her student fly. She knew that Corey would have multiple powers from what he told them when they first met, and he was able to hover a few inches off the ground, but she never really thought that she would see it being performed here. She has seen some of her students with the ability to fly, and including herself, it is a beautiful experience, but for Corey, he always had trouble with it.

The young man grunts, trying to keep himself afloat in the air; he pushes his arms upward, feels joy when he finds himself flying and lets out a laugh. He finally accomplished it, he can fly, but he staggers a bit.

"No, no! Not now!" He begins to free fall towards the ground, "NO!"

Storm musters up the wind to catch him before hitting the ground. She manages to do so to slow his descent, but he crashes anyway into a snow mountain forming a crater when he lands. Ororo winces as she, too, descends where his body lays. Her feet touch the ground, and she quickly makes her way to the crater where the man of steel in training is getting up, dejected.

He falls to his knees, huffing in annoyance; he looks at the sky. The clouds pass him by, floating grits his teeth as he looks at the dark blue sky as if it were mocking him, "AAAAAAHHHH!" He pounds the ground creating a deeper crater than the previous landing.

A gloved hand is in front of his face. Now he looks at it for a moment before looking at Ororo. Her face is gentle, and her eyes look at him with compassion. He looks as he grips the snow under his fingers; nonetheless, he grabs her hand as gingerly as possible, not wanting to harm his new mentor. Once he is up, Ororo cups his face with both hands, bringing his forehead to hers, whispering loud enough to hear, "You can't force this. I told you that before when you first tried."

"I need to master this…." He whispers back, "I can't sit by and do nothing. We have a crisis going on…."

"I know, I know…we'll figure it together…."

She leads him out of the crater. He sighs again, allowing himself to be moved by her. They walk a few feet from the hole. Storm intertwines their fingers, which causes Corey to gently clasp hers, not putting effort to crunch her hand; it took massive thinking and restraint as if he were handling a baby.

Corey stopped looking at the sky; he breathed in the evening air as a gentle breeze came over him; he must master this flight ability. Ororo stares with him as the sun never truly sets here in the north, given that it is still spring coming close to the summer.

He breathed out in frustration. What was he doing wrong? Why couldn't he fly? He watched Kara fly before, and she flew graciously through the air like a butterfly, so why could he not?

Clark's words came to him again, "Give the people of the earth an ideal to strive for, and they will rise behind you, stumble, but in time they will join you in the sun, my friend. Give them hope…."

"They already have the hope, Clark…they just don't see it yet that it comes from above."

Corey let go of Ororo's hand as he stared into the yellow shining sun. It filled the sky with mighty colors of red and splashed the clouds with endless rays of pink. It was bright and mesmerizing as it invited the young human to stare deep into the horizon, reflecting the words shared with his late mentor.

Closing his eyes, he got down on one knee, planting his fist on the ground; he waited for the right moment. Ororo stares at him, not sure what he is doing.

"Corey?"

Silence is her reply; she suddenly notices that the snow sand is swirling around his fist, and the white-haired woman can't comprehend what is happening. Was he using his flight ability? Suddenly the ground started to shake; it was beginning to throw her off her balance. Before the weather mutant could say anything to him, she was thrown back 30 feet away from him as a sudden burst of wind erupted from him.

Corey flew through the clouds smiling. He had done it; he was flying. The young man felt the rush of the air hitting his face. He swerved left and right, then on his back, looking around his area. Sonic booms followed as he began to pick up the pace. He made a hard left heading for the crater at full speed. He spotted Ororo as a devious smile crossed his lips.

When Storm dusted herself off a sonic boom, she realized that a big ball of white was heading towards her with tremendous speed. She realized he was going to crash into her. She could not stop him even if she tried suddenly; he blurred in front of her, picking her up by the waist as they zoomed around the sky with her screaming.

Ororo held on for dear life as the wind howled at her, her flaps flying rapidly in the fast-going wind. She deduced that they were going at least Mach 3 or 4. It felt strange to be carried like this. She is too busy trying not to scream as she did the first time. She finally gets a good look at her student concentrating.

With her in tow, he turns here and there, carefully navigating his way around the earth's top-down to different continents with a passenger. He speeds up again, going faster than before; she wraps her arms around him regarding the oceans. She dared stretch out her hand to touch the water. She feels giddy now as the liquid spray quickly off her.

Superman is moving quickly to another part of the world; suddenly, they found themselves in the Grand Canyon, zigzagging over the arches then shooting upward but not before slowing down to look down before shooting upward into the sky once again.

Using his x-ray vision, he sees the different layers of the earth and makes his decision; he continues to fly before he suddenly stops.

With both their hearts racing, they are high above the clouds, 20,000 feet in the air, to be precise. Cold sweat begins to precipitate on Superman's forehead, he's never been this high before, yet for his crush, he will endure it. It is calming, but no way was he going to remove his hearing aid that cancels the world's sound.

Ororo leans her head on his shoulders, "It's so beautiful from up here."

"Not as beautiful as you, Ororo." Ororo's lips tighten as she still holds on to him even though she can fly. She allows him to hold her by the waist this one time. Even though it is a whisper, she still hears him; she realizes something.

She slaps him on the up of his head; though invulnerable, he gestures with his eyes, "What was that for?"

"For giving me a heart attack!" She responds heatedly, "That's no way to be treating a lady, Corey."

He smirks while giving a slight chuckle, "I suppose not."

The nanite mask unfolds, revealing his emerald eyes meeting her blue ones; they are now silent, searching each other. Ororo licks her lips as she feels herself being adjusted to be face to face with him. Holding her by the waist while planting her on top of his feet, he is lost in her eyes; it reminds him so much of Kara, yet she wasn't…she was her own person that he had to understand.

Slowly the two of them inch their way to each other before planting a small yet loving kiss as Corey holds her by the waist and Ororo wraps her arms around his neck.

S.H.I.E.L.D integration room

The light blinds him as the wall-crawler looks straight ahead; Spider-Man tests the cuffs that held him down. He could easily break through if he wanted to, but for not wanting to agitate or escalate the situation, he will stay his hand for now. His armor shines in the light reflecting off; it reduces the glare on his face somewhat.

When Symbian offers, Peter is lost in thought, 'I don't like this. We need to get back down there before the other has a chance to pick up on our absence.'

'As much as I agree with you, we cannot do anything, well, not in terms of having an unknown after us. besides, the rest of the crew are good with Corey and some of the X-Men helping in finding Venom….'

He hears the door open, interrupting his thought process when behold a familiar redhead growls out at him. Next to her was another woman with dark hair wearing a dark navy-blue jumpsuit with a black vest expanding from her neck, covering her waist with two flacon emblems on each shoulder.

What catches his attention is the dark-skinned man with an eye patch; he feels like he's seen him before but wasn't too sure where. They stare at each other for a long time before the man opens his mouth and says, "It's good to finally meet you in person, Spider-Man. You are the very annoying person to keep track of."

"Ha, glad to know I have a stalker watching out for me at times; it's like Venom. You know what they say you shouldn't run into a cornfield. Why? Because you never know if your stalker is a cereal killer." He laughs lightly at his own joke. The others only have a tight line on their face, not understanding the concept of the joke, "Wait, wait, wait! I got a better one…Did you hear about the shy guy who had a crush? He all talked, no action. HA!"

"No, I got one ever better one! What did celery say to the veggie dip? I'm stalking you…."

"Oh, for Pete's sake, would you please just shut up!" Widow crosses her arms with her fingers rubbing her temples, "Here, I thought Tony was bad."

"Let cut to the chase…."

"You mean cheese…you will cut the cheese…you know that all gas is in one place if you break wind."

Fury is unamused by the crack of jokes, and it appears that Maria Hill and Black Widow have had enough of these cringey jokes as Widow as, "Permission to shoot him, Director Fury?"

"Permission denied."

"Please, just one bullet."

"No."

"Oh, come on, Widow, I'm a fungi to be around."

"Please?"

"No." He leans forward to Spider-Man, "One more joke out of you, and I'm sending you home in a body bag, am I clear?"

Peter is silent. He smirks through his mask and gives nothing away. "Wow, the girls really must love you since your life of the party, what crawled up your…."

"Back to what I was trying to say…." Before anything can escalate, "I know who you are…."

"Pfft…Doesn't anyone? Where've you been under a rock for the last 10 years?"

"Richard and Mary Parker, do these names mean anything?" Peter froze; his demeanor changed entirely as now he sat upright at full attention, looking at his interrogator, "I see I have your attention now. We here at S.H.I.E.L.D have been dealing with many issues ranging from national to international to intergalactic threats. I'm sure you are aware of the events in 2012?"

How could he not? Peter was 17 at the time going through high school in his junior year; he had been sore for about a week or two, not to mention trying to help those trapped in buildings with the whole alien invasion from another planet. He never got a chance to rest and relax with that one, not to mention that schools were closed for about three months.

"What does this have to do with me?"

"I'm glad you ask." Fury leans back, "You see, something has been bugging me for three years." He takes out a file placing it in Peter's vision spreading the sheet out, Peter optics widen as it reveals Eddie in his Venom alter ego "I have reason to believe that somehow, someway, you are connected with this monster known as Venom."

Peter says not a word wanting to see where this is going.

"It's been eluding me for three years now-how a Klyntar managed to make its way to Earth without my knowledge. So, I began digging around to get every detail on you, but you proved elusive at times that not even my best agents could find you until today." Peter's optic narrows again yet remains silent. "You see, Spider-Man, your connection to the rooftop incident is key to helping find these Klyntar, but we can't let you walk away knowing that you were literally throwing people off the rooftop along with a few others."

"Why is everyone blaming me for that incident?" Spider-Man annoyance level is rising, "Do you think it's normal for regular people to climb buildings?"

"Is it normal for a person to throw other people to death?"

"They weren't normal!" Spider-Man shouted. Hill and Widow trained their guns on him, "I don't know why they had symbiotes or how Venom is doing this! That's why I need to stop him, and your guns or whatever this organization is…isn't prepared for what's coming!"

"And you are?" Fury asked rhetorically, "Don't underestimate S.H.I.E.L.D. If we can repel one alien attack, we sure repel this one."

Spider-Man pauses, looking the Director in the eye; he says not a word, then clicks his tongue. "If you think you can stop this…be my guest…you had the Avengers helping in New York City. Besides, you don't know Venom nor these symbiotes like I do. I fought against him and won."

Nick Fury is unfazed, "Well, I'm truly impressed by how things are going. We'll take it from here while you await your trial, Parker."

Spider-Man optic widen.

"Take him away."

Peter offered no resistance to being handled; it wasn't worth it, nor will it be worth it. He stared at Fury as he stared coldly back at him. He will remember this day when he mentioned his parents…he stops before leaving the room, "One question."

"What is it?"

"How do you know about Mary and Richard Parker?"

Fury bat, not his eye as he says, "That's classified information."

Peter looks over his shoulder, "Really, they are CIA secret agents from what I'm told." The conversation ended with Spider-Man being dragged away.

Fury shakes his head, "Damn, kid."

Spider-Man leads to his new jail cell as he is shoved in by Widow. He turns back to look at her, glaring at him before she walks away with Maria Hill. He looks around his holding place; there is a bed, a latrine, and a force field holding him back from escaping. He plops down on the side bed contemplating his situation, "Now, I don't think JJ is celebrating…." He mocks his former boss, "We finally have that wall-crawling menace behind bars! Blah…blah…I told you so…and more blah…."

'We could eat Jameson….' Symbian says with a drool

'Nah, he'll probably give bad indigestion.'

'So now that we are here alone. What are you going to do to escape?'

'I'm thinking on that part.' He lays back on the bed and ponders what he will do. A few minutes go by, and Peter cannot come up with a solution to this minor problem. He knows that if Venom gets wind that he has been arrested, no doubt the mad symbiote man would redouble his efforts making it much harder for him to help the people of the city if they are infected with the symbiote. There is no doubt in his mind that Venom is gleeful at this turn of events; he sighs.

'What about the watch?' Symbian chimes in

"Watch?" Peter muttered, "What wa-!" He suddenly springs up, "Of course! The watch Superman gave me!" He turned his wrist naked and looked at the diamond-shaped and watched, "Oh, this will suck…."

He is hesitant for a moment but decides to push the button, and once again, the strong wail erupts from it, causing Symbian to shriek, nearly detaching from Peter. Disorientated, Peter shakily reaches for the bed pulling himself up.

"We need to get you immune to the sound."

'Agreed…'

While that was happening, Teresa was in front of Fury. Her eyes were cold, while the director of S.H.I.E.L.D coldly stared back at his agent in his office. Natasha was behind Fury, looking indifferently at the other red hair; the tense silence is thick that anyone could cut it like butter with a knife.

"Screw me and my orders, right Agent?" Fury says, "You know if it wasn't for me, you would be in prison right now."

Teresa doesn't blink, "Is that supposed to make me feel better, director? Is it supposed to comfort me? To make me feel more grateful to you even more?" She scoffed, "My father was right, you are a jerk, and that's only putting it mildly. I can think of a dozen foul languages I can use to describe you, but I won't."

Fury is unfazed by this proclamation.

"You have my brother in the most secure place in the world. I don't appreciate you locking away my relative when you don't know what is happening! You set up quarantine sections without taking into consideration what is happening! We have infected people with alien parasites in them!"

"You're stepping out of line, Agent." Fury countered, "There is an ongoing pandemic, and you're telling me how to do my job? Widow told me that you have an alien parasite, so how can I trust you? Maybe you should be locked up with him until we can further assess the situation."

Teresa's mouth parted, then she gritted her teeth, "I have been your faithful agent ever since I turned 16. My childhood has always been with S.H.I.E.L.D. Nothing in my life was normal, and you question my loyalty to you and this organization?" Widow eyed her carefully as Teresa placed her hands on the desk, looking dangerously at Fury, "My dad was right; you really care for nothing but yourself or how the mission is done."

"Speaking of the missions, it seems that yours was successful. Do you get an extraction of the symbiote?" Fury asked

Before responding, Teresa glared at her superior, "Not exactly an extraction."

"Oh? Then what then?"

Teresa looked at her hand and then willed the symbiote to appear; the dark red ooze covered her from head to toe, leaving the jacket alone to flap around. Fury watches, impressed, while Widow has this disgusted look.

This was better than Fury hoped for, one of his agents with a symbiote. He already had thoughts on how he would study and maybe clone the alien for more super-powered agents. For now, he wanted a sample of it. The Director of S.H.I.E.L.D takes in the symbiote; it covered his agent from head to toe, had very sharp teeth and claw-like hands, and the eyes were somewhat jackal lantern.

"Very impressive, Agent Parker. With the extraction complete, I think it safe to say for you to come back..."

"No…"

"What do you mean no?"

"If I ReCaLl CoRrEcTlY…" Teresa willed that mask part a little to reveal her face, "Didn't you say I need to keep my brother safe? Well, I'm not leaving his side, there is a monster out there infecting New York City, and I will not rest until I see that my brother is safe…."

Just then, they heard a loud wail echo. They were perplexed at what it was that they stared at each other, looking from one to the next. A few minutes go by when suddenly the door bursts open. A SHIELD agent appears panting hard, bursting through the door.

"Director Fury! We need you at the bridge!"

"What for agent?"

"There's a mutant outside floating in front of the Helicarrier."

Widow's eyes narrow, "That's impossible! This Helicarrier is invisible, and we are 30,000 feet in the air away from public view hovering over the Atlantic Ocean."

The agent acknowledges Widow's words, "I understand that ma'am, but he is floating right in front of the bridge, and our entire system has been hacked."

That got them to scramble to see the commotion going on. The whole station is on high alert, agents are speeding up and down, and many more are with high-tech weaponry if a fight breaks out. Fury quickened his pace as his other two agents raced behind him, he dodged and weaved through his agents, and when he was finally at the bridge, his eye widened in surprise.

"What the…"

Outside, staring at them, was a man floating in midair wearing red and blue spandex and his cape blowing in the wind gently. He wears a red mask to cover part of his face while supporting a frown. His arms folded, he looks displeased. Fury eyes him carefully, and he snaps his finger at one of his agents.

"Have you tried to communicate with him?"

"We can't, sir. All forms of communication are down. He's hacked our system with ease, bypassing every security breach we set up in an unknown language." Fury looks to the screen seeing strange symbols; he reaches for his back pocket, pulling out a pager, "We have our armed forces with hot weapons trained on him."

"Good, I will invite a special someone to the party." Fury presses the button on the pager, "Stall him."

The flying man came up to the window, all eyes trained on him as he flicked it with his middle finger shattering the glass to pieces. He floats inside with the agents, immediately drawing their weapons on him. Fury watches as he ignores everyone in the room, his gaze solely fixated on him. The two men stare each other down, neither saying a word.

Teresa, meanwhile, is sweating bullets; when Corey whispered in her ear that he knew that she was a SHIELD agent back at the Fortress, she was shocked. She couldn't believe that he peeked, but she guesses why he doesn't trust anyone. She is a bit stunned to do anything; she never mentioned Superman to her supervisors.

As the man scanned his area, Teresa could feel sweat beginning to percolate on her forehead. He is unbothered by all the weaponry. He looks towards Fury as he begins to walk, and the Agents walk with him; they try to block his path to Fury, but X vibrates past them, completely freaking them out as he continues up the steps.

Now he is blocked by Widow Hill, and Teresa finally draws her weapon to be trained on him. He says not a word but looks at them for a moment before he continues to push forward, but Natasha warns him, "Not another step!"

He doesn't heed her warning. Widow responds by using her Black Widow's Bite. To her shock, he is unfazed by the taser. 'How did he…that's impossible! The weapon function can deliver powerful electrical discharge. Each bracelet is marked with blue lights from electrical capacitors and electrical wiring that appear when activated. The wielder can electrocute enemies by contacting the pair of electrical probes. How is he not affected?'

Widow's wrist is grabbed and then crunched as her taser is destroyed, leaving her wrist unharmed. Hill tries to attack with a pair of neutralizing cuffs, but she too is subdued when he grabs her and forces her to butt heads with Widow; the two are disoriented. Yet he is not done as he super speeds around them, cuffing them back-to-back before stagging them off the bridge.

Other agents begin to rush him and shoot at him; he quickly pushes Nick and Teresa out of the way as the bullets harmlessly bounce off in every direction. After hearing the ricochet around the bridge, Hill calls them off, "CEASE FIRE! CEASE FIRE!"

They do, and they are in awe that he appears to be undamaged; they swallow dryly. The man looks at them, then turns his attention to look at Teresa with a gun in her hand. The masked man gives nothing away.

He says, "I will give you this one chance to put away the gun. I suggest you take it." Teresa stands down; she knows that she can't beat him. The mysterious man is now three feet away from Fury.

The dark-skinned man coldly stares at him as the man frowns, crossing his arms, "Quite the performance. Who are you?"

The man is silent for a moment, then he says, "My name is not important. What is important is that you have a friend of mine. I would kindly ask for his release; there is no need for anyone to fight, nor do I want hostility between us."

Nick hums, placing his hands behind his back, "Interesting, you are the first alien not wanting to start a war, but unfortunately, I cannot simply let your friend go, whoever this person is."

"Hmm…does the name Spider-Man ring a bell?"

Playing dumb, Fury shakes his head from side to side, "Never heard of him."

"Really? According to my log, he is in holding block cell 7H-15690." To prove his point, he uses a holographic project from his gloved hand showing the Helicarrier now. Fury's mouth thinned as the man said, "Please don't act coy with me; I'm not stupid. For example, I know you pushed a button to call for help. Fight me at your own peril; I do not wish to harm you or anyone else, but if violence is the only thing you will understand, then…*sighs* I will show why I am not to be underestimated."

Fury remains impassive though one thought passes through his mind; the one question is how? How did he know that he called for help? Regaining his composure, he clears his throat as he eyes the window. The man turns his head slightly, then sighs again, "Do you guys mind stepping to your left?" They look at each but humor him; he gives them a thumbs up, "Perfect!"

The man spins around just as another blur comes zooming in. With a mighty punch, the oncoming bullet person has knocked away to the outside of the Helicarrier. The man sighs as he floats to the window entrance, scanning for the unknown assailant. He spots a woman shaking the cobwebs off as she comes out of the rubble. He sizes her up; she is well built with toned muscles and athletic but with curves in the right places. Using x-ray vision, he peeks as he witnesses her beauty.

He then takes note of the costume; a red and blue bodysuit with an eight-point yellow star centered on the chest. However, the bodysuit covered much of the woman's body, the upper half. There was no legging on the bottom, leaving her legs exposed halfway. On the other hand, her blue boots had a red stripe at the top to match her costume, and she also wore a blue mask to hide her identity. Rather than a cape, the woman wore a long red scarf.

"Of course, it had to be a woman to pick a fight with me." He floated down, touching the landing.

Fury shows emotion with wide eyes for the first time in his career or life; he races out the bridge to the outside to see this unlikely scuffle occur. This man is a potential danger; not only did he hack into the S.H.I.E.L.D database, but to hear Carol coming, what was this thing?

The blonde-haired woman rubs her jaw; she felt her face rattle from that hit. She sees the man a few feet away from her. She smirks; this might be a challenge; she comes out of the crater she created, dusting herself off. Ms. Marvel looks at this young man whose arms are folded; he frowns on his face. Then she says, "Quite the right hook. I can't believe you actually hit me as I was traveling faster than sound." She loses her smirk as she points the index finger at him, "You are in restricted air space, and I will have to ask you to leave. If you don't, I will give you a beating of a lifetime. Either way is fine with me."

"Look…I didn't come here to start a fight. But if I must defend myself, I will. I'm here for my friend."

"Well, sorry to say, whatever your friend did, he deserved to be locked up. You are not leaving here, and there is a comfy cell with your name on it." Ms. Marvel powers up and fires her photon blast at the red and blue man; it is a direct hit. When the smoke clears, her eyes widen, he should have been knocked back or knocked out. He tanks the blast unmoving, wiping some of the dirt on his shoulder.

"I really don't have time for this, so how about we call this whole thing off before someone gets hurt, yes?"

She flew at him quickly with a fist drawn back; seeing this attack, he dodges it by sidestepping his body as Ms. Marvel hits nothing but air. She reorients herself by flipping over and landing in a cat-like stance; she charges in again by doing a combo of punches and kicks. With little martial arts experience under his belt, Corey blocks each one.

The blonde-haired woman is agitated by this man's nonchalant attitude, she grits her teeth speeding up her attacks, but he calmly defends himself. It wasn't long before she felt something scorching push her back; it caught her off at first as she strumbled, but then an idea came to her.

Superman unleashes another stream of heat vision, and the woman sticks out her hands and absorbs it. Cutting off the heat vision, X is perplexed when she suddenly zooms a bit faster than she did the first time, squaring him in the face. Superman X is flown into a jet, exploding on contact with such force behind the punch.

The flames are quickly dosed, rubbing his jaw, "Gam-Vil, what exactly are we dealing with here? I know we are not dealing with the average human."

"Unknown sir, may I suggest a hair sample to analyze."

"Consider it done." Faster than the eye could blink, Corey speeds blitz to the woman, grazing her hair in the process

"OUCH!" She rubs her scalp, "What the…?

Superman gloves come to life as he scans the hair sample, her eyes widen. "Oh no, you don't!" She flies at him with everything she has. X scans are complete as he quickly grabs the blonde and grapples with her. Given her strength, she slides the young man back for a few moments before he plants his foot down, stopping her.

She growls as energy begins to pour out; X has none of this as he knees her in the face. Crying out in pain due to biting her tongue, she clutches her mouth; she grits her teeth, wiping the blood away before spitting on the ground. She growls angrily, throwing a punch, but X quickly catches it with an open palm.

She throws another punch but is caught by the wrist as she tries to push on, but the man proves to be her equal. He can see the determination in her face as he thinks even a bit of sweat begins to precipitate. 'I must confess training for one month with a tricky powerful Amazonian princess really paid off though I am nowhere her level of fighting prowess doesn't mean that I am helpless. Diana pushed me to the limit in thinking outside the box whenever she had me on the ropes. Though I cannot believe I fell for the old playing possum from time to time, I grew wiser then.' He smirks, thinking of the time he zapped her in her glutes, the tongue lashing she gave him, and the brutal training that followed; it was all worth it for tricking him.

Ms. Marvel grits her teeth as she tries to push back, but he keeps her firmly in place; she growls as she tries to headbutt him. He is unfazed by this attack with only a raised eyebrow; she stares at him defiantly. He then places pressure on her closed fist, causing her to take a knee despite her power boost.

She yelps as she feels her hand breaking; the other agents can't believe it. Fury pulls another communicator, "This is a priority alert to the Avengers, UN alpha request, need back up immediately!"

The sky turns to a dark grey cloud, and lightning hits the Helicarrier; a familiar round star-spangled banner object flies towards X. It bounces off him harmlessly as he looks back, and his eyes widen as he sees what he could describe in the comics books he has read. The first he sees as he gains back his shield is the uniform. It evokes the spirit of patriotism in classic stars and stripes costume, which brings the brightly colored look into the 21st century with modern materials and functionality. The uniform's design is unique in its use of exposed zippers up the abdomen and on his legs. The lightly armored uniform is also the most aerodynamic of all his outfits; the helmet with the 'A' gets him.

"Captain America…"

X's eyes travel to the next person; he wears an armor set with a collared blue tunic with red piping and black pants. Over the blue shirt, he wore a black vest emblazoned with a silver overlay. He wore a bright red cape that connected at the shoulders of his vest. His arms were covered in chainmail, and he wore detailed, black, knee-high boots. In his hand, he had a hammer.

"Thor…"

The next man to the left of Captain America consisted of a black short-sleeved shirt with two breast pockets and pants with knee guards. It also has a thigh holster on his left leg. He wears a glove on his left hand and an armed guard on his right forearm when using his bow.

"Hawkeye."

The next man was clad in red and gold armor suit, with a circle in the middle of it glowing blue, while the final man had puzzled X greatly. At a loss for words, he notes the man wearing a purple shirt with brown pants, average height, and well-kept hair.

Meanwhile, Ms. Marvel smirks as she says, "You're screwed."

"Perhaps yes or not, we'll have to see." With a push to her chest, he forces Ms. Marvel to skid on the pavement as he no longer pays attention to her for a moment as he dodges the shield followed by the hammer. He ducks under again as the hammer flies over his head from hitting the round shield.

"These guys are trying to kill me," X mutters under his breath; he spots Ms. Marvel flying towards him, getting tackled to the ground.

She taunts him, "Not so tough now, are you?"

"You're a cocky one, aren't you?" The man asks, vibrating his entire body, causing the blonde to lose her grip on him as he phases through her. Once he was done, Ms. Marvel shuddered uncontrollably as she revolted, feeling her entire being vibrating at speeds that she couldn't reach.

"WHAT THE HECK!" She hugs herself, "That was disgusting! What the heck did you do?!"

Before Superman could respond, he is again knocked back by the hammer as he flies past Fury and his agents crashing into the bridge tower, face kissing the ground. Ms. Marvel looks at Captain America, "I don't need your help, Captain! I had him right where I wanted him!"

The super soldier looks at Ms. Marvel, "From where I was standing, Ms. Marvel, he had you on your knees. You're welcome, by the way." She gives a loud tsk, ready to fight against this unknown mutant or alien.

Captain America tells Banner, "Bruce, stay on standby until we know what we are dealing with here."

"You got it, Capt."

"Thor." The god of Asgard turns to the soldier out of time, "You got the lightning, light the guy up like Time Square. Hawkeye with me, Ironman, see if you can grab his attention."

When Superman gets back on his feet, he groggily reorientates, "Okay, that hurt…Ow!" He rubs the back of his head, looking at people's horizons; he sucks his teeth, "Gam-Vil, please release Spider-Man from holding block cell 7H-15690. The city needs him."

"Right away, sir." The AI continues to say, "Also, the analysis is complete. The hair sample you provided gave me a lot of information about the blonde woman, sir. Her name is Carol Danvers, and it appears that she is half Kree, half-human, sir. She goes by the alias Ms. Marvel when in uniform, and she can absorb energy, so watch out for that."

X frowns; he never really went against foes that could absorb energy. Parasite was one of the foes he never had to fortunate/unfortunate fight, so he is out of his element with this. However, it was Thor that he was more concerned about; from what he understood from the comics back home, if he is not mistaken, Thor wielded a magical war hammer by the name Mjolnir or something like that.

'Clark warned me to be careful with beings that wielded mystical weaponry, Diana sword and tiara were amongst the many that could damage me as I have no resistance. But I must recall what Isaiah says: No weapon formed against thee shall prosper; every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn….' Corey's thoughts are interrupted as the skies turn dark, "Oh boy…."

"HAVE AT THEE!" With a warrior's yell, Thor jumped in the air to slam his hammer onto the ground.

Timing it correctly, X sidestepped him as he passed him, grabbing his wrist quickly and super speeds to hit Thor with his own hammer using his wrist. Not expecting it with such a blow, the god of thunder is blown back as Captain America throws his shield. Seeing the disk, he grabs it out of midair and then places it on the wrist on the forearm, "Can I borrow this for a moment? Yes? Thanks…"

"Sir, an incoming call from Spider-Man."

"Patch him through." X hears the tone then Pete's voice comes on

"Yo, Superman! Was that you?"

"No…Your fairy godmother decided to find you at hypersonic speeds…." Iron Man fires a repulsor blast at the man as X tanks the blow and counters with heat vision to his chest, "Anyway, I can't greet you because I got my hands full here."

"What are you doing?"

"Oh, you know…." X hears a whistle of a flying arrow coming straight for him. He grabs the arrow's tip, crushing it in his hands, "Fighting the Avengers…."

The other end of the line is silent; X isn't too sure if Peter hung up on him or not. He hears another crack of lightning and sees the hammer heading straight for him; he deflects it using the vibranium shield.

Steve runs up to the man of steel in training, punching him in both his chest and stomach, but Superman walks backward with him; he doesn't feel a thing. However, on the other hand, Steve feels like he is hitting a steel wall.

Finally, Spider-Man spoke, "Yeah, you're screwed."

Steve pauses mid-attack, feeling his bones cracking. He looks at his hands while they shake; he grits his teeth with his mouth closed while Superman looks at him, "I suggest you stop trying to hit me with your bare hands unless you want to break every bone in them, then be my guest."

"Thanks for the advice..." He pulls his hands in a fist, "But I can do this all day."

Superman takes a deep breath and shakes his head from side to side; he looks at the shield, unhooks it from his forearm, and then grabs it to get a good look at it. He stares at it before he hands it back to Steve. Surprised by this action, Captain America narrows his eyes as he cautiously takes back his shield.

He looks at the shield, then at the young man, "What's the game here?"

X shrugs, "No game Captain. I just want to show that I don't want to fight. There is no point in this fight. Yet if I must defend myself, I will."

Steve is still suspicious at first, but before he can say anything, an arrow makes it toward this mysterious man's face. He catches it and blows on it, freezing the arrowhead before discarding it, "Excuse me a moment."

Moving at speeds that Captain America couldn't comprehend, he disarms Hawkeye by breaking his arrows and taking his bow, chucking it into space. "My bow!"

"At least it wasn't you."

While he did that, Ms. Marvel and Thor zoomed over and punched him simultaneously, causing him to fly on his back, followed by a repulsor blast from Ironman to keep up the momentum. Getting his bearings, X unleashes his heat vision from his knees and fires at Ironman catching him in a beam struggle.

Ironman thinks this is a stalemate, "Jarvis, what are we dealing with here? I want a full analysis of this guy."

"Right away, sir."

The heat vision pushes back the repulsor blast causing Ironman to go blind for a moment. It temporarily blinds him; he can feel a punch knocking him to the floor with just a pulled punch.

"Stay down!" Just then, Ms. Marvel goes in to charge him. The man growls, "I've had enough of you!" Superman does something very odd he pulls on his 'S,' and the thin 'S' blanket entraps her.

"ARGH!" She struggles to escape as she crashes to the floor in a heap.

"Gam-Vil change setting to 1 hour on the cellophane S. Gives her something to struggle with." Once again, Corey is hit with the hammer in the arm, his left arm, cries out in pain at his dislocated arm, and glares at Thor.

The blonde's hand is stretched out, waiting for his hammer to return to him, but Corey has none. Quickly, he grabs the helm of the hammer, not allowing it to reach Thor. Smugly the god of thunder laughs, "Foolish mortal, only those who are worthy can hold M…ODIN'S BEARD!"

Quickly striking his left arm to put back his dislocated arm with the hammer, X holds onto the war hammer as it begins to crackle with lightning, surprising everyone. With a twirl, he walks up to a now stunned Thor.

"Nay, that is not possible!" Superman smacks the thunder god with his own hammer across the face. Thor is on the floor as he spits blood from his mouth, "You are a capable fighter, but I will not fall so easily. I am the son of Odin, and I will triumph."

X says nothing as he relaunches himself at the thunder god.

Meanwhile, Spider-Man crawls through the vent in the disabled S.H.I.E.L.D Helicarrier, it wasn't long ago that he escaped from his prison cell thanks to Superman, but now he is fighting the Avengers. He knew Corey was strong, but he didn't know how strong, with everyone on high alert because of him. He didn't understand why he would pick a fight with Earth's Mightiest Heroes; it was probably a misunderstanding, but who knows.

The vents shook as he stayed still, something was happening on the outside, and he could only guess what that was. Whoever Corey was fighting, Peter had to suppose that it was either Thor or Hulk; anyway, he had to get out of here.

After finding an exit using his spider-sense, he drops down to the floor below, making sure the coast is clear. He hides when he hears the running feet of S.H.I.E.L.D agents. He camouflages and follows them to the outside. The Helicarrier once again shook some of the agents staggered as he remained planted to the ground.

"What in the world is going on out there?"

"Beats me. But Fury called in the Avengers, which means something big is happening out there, and who knows what else."

Peter wisely keeps silent as he follows the rushing agents towards the exit. His spider-sense blares again as the whole base shakes harder than the last. He needed to get off this crazy plane in the sky, or it would be a hassle to do so. He accidentally bumps into a few SHIELD agents when his spider senses trigger as he makes his way.

"What the?"

Before they could respond, he webs them all to the wall, even gagging them to ensure they don't say a word that he escaped from his confinement. When he reaches the outside, he watches as Superman X blocks the mighty blow of the Hulk.

The green eight-foot-tall hulking gamma radiation roars angrily as he tries to push Superman down to the ground, but the man of steel in training delivers a might bow to his jaw, staggering the giant.

"LITTLE MAN HURT HULK! HULK RIP LITTLE MAN IN HALF!" Hulk charges at him, and Superman does the same, but the moment they crash into each other. The punches cause them to send a shockwave once again.

Spider-Man grimaced as he decided to leave his new ally behind. No way was he is sticking around but letting him know that he escaped would be in his best interest. Spidey overstayed his welcome, even if it was just for a few hours or less. He goes to the edge of the Helicarrier, looks back, and then tells C.O.D.E.C to dial X as he jumps off the aircraft.

"Yeah?" He hears the voice of Superman

"I'm off the aircraft." He responds

"Are you crazy?! We're hovering above the Atlantic Ocean!"

"CRAP!"

"ARGH!"

'Damn, I thought we were closer to home!' He thinks to himself, 'I feel like a moron for doing that, but I didn't know.' Thinking quickly, he calls out for his AI, "CODEC activate…huh?" He feels someone grab him by the waist before zooming off. He looks to his left and finds Superman with a stern look holding onto him. Now he really felt jealous of this man,"You can fly too? What can't you do?"

"You and I will have a long chat about why it was a dumb idea for you to jump ship before anything else." Corey looks back, "They'll be coming after us, but that won't be for a good while after they clean up the mess Gam-Vil left them. In the meantime, we need to regroup and think of a better way to handle Venom before S.H.I.E.L.D gets any ideas."

Peter gave a small humph, "In case you hadn't noticed, Einstein, I do believe we just made America's most wanted list."

"Please don't joke right now."

On top of the Helicarrier, Fury is very displeased with the results. He turned to face his agents, who rushed to their director to give them the news Spider-Man escaped imprisonment, "So S.H.I.E.L.D finest couldn't detain a costume-wearing vigilantly clown, am I right?" Nick Fury stared into the now freed squad, that were webbed to the wall. Though the squadron couldn't look him in the eye, "On top of that, we have an unknown entity with god-like powers escape."

Captain America came up to the director, "We'll find them, Colonel Fury. I hear that we have a situation down in New York, some pandemic."

"You heard that right, Captain, but your priority is to find that rouge entity and bring him back here. No one should be able to have that much power."

"Aye, he will face the god of thunder once again. He is a slippery one, and lo, I have over a millennium of combat; he is a formidable opponent to match the god of thunder and the power of the Hulk. Though I sense one critical weakness when facing this mortal."

Ironman walks up with his helmet undone, revealing Tony, "You know we'll get to that. What I want to know is why Spider-Man was here." He looks at Fury, he knows Peter, but he hasn't revealed anything to the others. To him, all they know is that Ironman knows Spider-Man, and they teamed up in the past. That's how Tony wants to keep it until he can figure out what is going on with his employee. "Well, Fury, any answers?"

Fury looks at Tony's unimpressed face, "If you must know Stark, Spider-Man was apprehended for the rooftop incident, which is why Widow was given the task of bringing him should she meet him. I had another agent as well."

"Great spying on my sometimes ally. What next, Fury?"

Fury ignores him as he directs his attention to Thor, "You said he had a weakness. What is it?"

"Aye, his weakness is to magic, Mjölnir." Thor then rubs his chin, "Though he lifted my hammer to fight Hulk and me. It is impossible, but I saw the impossible happen."

Fury kept that in the back of his head; he was aware of the hammer's enchantment. Thor often referenced it whenever someone tried to lift his hammer, 'Whosoever holds this hammer, if they are worthy, shall possess the power of Thor.' That means whoever this being is can use the mystical item. He frowns, "Capt, get the Avengers ready and take Carol with you."

"CAN SOMEONE PLEASE GET ME OUT OF THIS ENTRAPMENT!" Ms. Marvel bellows as she still struggles with the cellophane 'S.'

Tony looks at the horizon, thinking about the man with the diamond 'S.' He hacked his suit to keep him down and offline; Jarvis said that he couldn't understand the language that fell his iron suit. Of course, it was alien, but what did the symbols mean?

Tony needed answers. He'll pay Peter a visit later at his penthouse.

Back at Warehouse of Justice

Felicia and Cindy hug Peter tightly; he wraps his arms around them, hugging them tightly. They were frantic when they heard that he was arrested by S.H.I.E.L.D; as Angelica spoke with Corey, the other two heroines inspected him.

Felicia checked his face, making sure not a single scratch was on him as Cindy inspected elsewhere, mostly his body, to ensure he wasn't hurt.

"Are you hurt?" Felicia asks

"Did they do anything thing to you?" Cindy followed up

"They didn't experiment on you, did they?"

"How long were you there for?"

Overwhelmed with the questions, he hugged them both to ease their fears. They returned it, not complaining if the other was hugging him. They were worried sick about him, "Girls, I'm okay, just relax. I'm here now."

They hugged him tighter; Peter thought to himself that if only he could combine both Felicia and Cindy, he wouldn't be in this predicament that he finds himself in. Though he thinks this, a suggestion from Symbian interrupts his thoughts; 'I'm telling you Parker polyamory, is the way to go. Just get their consent, and you won't have to deal with this type of situation ever again. You know you want to….'

Peter bit his lips; he'll have to think about this, hard. He couldn't just throw away his morale or beliefs out the window for carnal pleasure or just be with two women! What was he? A player? No, he was raised better than that! He looks at the man wearing red and blue speaking with his ex-girlfriend; a thought crosses his mind with the technology he displayed; it was a long shot, but…maybe…just maybe, he could build a device…

For Pete's sake, what was he thinking! The girls would never agree to that! He scoffed in his mind, 'Yeah, right, a device that could potentially combine two beings together to form one new being. Who am I to play God? Besides, it's just a silly idea; it would be fun or tolerable, but no way. Besides, I don't think Corey would agree with me anyway.'

Symbian lets a low hum, 'Interesting…now that I think about it. Corey does have a lot of technology, even if it is crystal technology. Hm…I wonder.' Symbian has a new way to entice Peter, keeping this in the back of his head.

"Though one thing I don't get who this organization, SHIELD?" Angelica asks

"Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement, and Logistic Division." Corey explains, "It's an American extra-governmental counter-terrorism and intelligence agency, tasked with maintaining national and global security while dealing with many threats ranging from national to extra-terrestrial threats."

"So, SHIELD has come to the rescue and is on my tail, great. Not to mention they threw the entire city into a panic!" Peter exclaimed, wrapping an arm on both Felicia and Cindy, one is around the waist and the other around the shoulder, as the blonde and raven-haired female laid their head on his shoulders.

The two students of Xavier notice this but don't comment on the action. Instead, Corey is the one to speak up, "The problem is they don't know that Venom is the culprit to this pandemic, and that's a problem within itself. Not only do we have to deal with Venom, but we also have to deal with his other allies, and SHIELD and the rest of the world don't know that."

"ERGH!" Peter huffed, "What do we do now?"

Corey's computer rings and goes to it, and Charles's face appears on the screen, "Professor."

"Corey, I'm glad I got you ahold of you."

"Whenever you say that, I got a bad feeling something is going down." Corey responded, "Or you just here to lecture me."

Ignoring the jab, Charles looks at his student, "I am calling to warn both you and your small group that the governor of New York has declared a state of emergency for the city. No one can come in or out of the five boroughs, whether plane, boats, tunnels, or cars."

"The whole city under lockdown!" Peter races in, "That's insane!"

"So, what do we, for now, professor?" Angelica asks

"For now, you lot must focus on stopping this alien spread. Apart from Superman, Storm, Wolverine, and Firestar, we cannot send you any more help. Corey, is it possible to at least set up a warp gate to your location?"

Placing a hand on his chin, Corey shook his head no, "Unfortunately, building something like that would take a minimum of a month. I only managed to build the transporter with the help of Forge in three weeks, and even still, it took roughly the same time, professor. Besides, where are Storm and Wolverine."

"Storm should be flying to the warehouse as we speak; she just made it in as the state of emergency was declared. While Logan is on the prowl for more symbiotes. I suggest that you wait for Storm to come. I'll be in touch if you need me." Xavier cuts the transmission.

Everyone is silent; Peter checks his internal clock, 8:30 pm, 3 and half hours to meet Dare Devil in Hell's kitchen. He'll have to give Matt a buzz to see where; he never asked the blind lawyer where they would meet. He excused himself to speak with the blind lawyer if he could get a hold of him.

Corey, now testing his new ability to hear from far away, hears a lot of commotion from the city; people are in unrest. He sits down as he hears many were frightened about why this was happening, others praying, some are indifferent, while others are looking for someone to blame. On top of all this, looting is happening, and, on the rise, soon it will be anarchy. Yet he turned his ears to those praying and muttering his own prayer, yet no sound came out as his lips moved.

Instantly his eyes were open, and behold, he found himself in the city, walking with pedestrians not paying attention to him in the streets. The young man looked to his right and left; everything seemed normal. It was a typical day. The sun is shining, giving a blue hue to the sky when suddenly great darkness covers the sky, and the scenario changes. People began screaming as creatures of nightmarish appearance came overtaking men, women, and children, infecting them and turning them into these same creatures.

Corey recognized them as symbiotes, but what was weird was the swirl they each had on the forehead. He didn't know what that meant. Soon time moves forward. Now cars were overturned; the city was quiet, too quiet for his liking. He looked up to the sky; it was covered in thick darkness.

"Where is this place?"

Soon he heard a voice with thunder call out to him, "Son of man, come up and see."

Immediately he was caught up in the heavens and looked down, and below, he saw the city of New York; though it wasn't, he could see tendrils blanketing the entire city. The whole town is covered by this goo; buildings were destroyed, and smoke arose from the once-great city. He sensed that something was wrong. He looked down, seeing something move swiftly in the shadows.

Again, the voice said to him, "Son of man, look and see."

When he looks up, he feels hives forming in every aspect of his body. He sees terrifying creatures of different sizes, leathery in appearance with razor-sharp teeth and claws with some wings larger than cars through its appearance be rivaled that of the monsters he faced in his home.

"What is this?" Corey asked afraid

He continued to see when an unearthly laugh set him trembling hives and behold a man with a deathly pale feature, but his face was unknown. The hands were pale with a sword in his hands that appeared in the sky shrouded in an armor that was solid black, with something emblazoned on its chest and back looked like a red dragon emblem. And a maniacal smile that reminded him of a certain rouge clown yet worse than that as he shouted, "I AM THE LORD OF THE EARTH AND ALL SHALL BOW DOWN AND WORSHIP ME OR DIE!"

This being had great power as all the world's nations tried to stand up against this powerful entity, but he made war with them, conquering them with his army, and none could withstand his power. Corey was taken up even higher, and he saw that the Earth was covered in thick darkness, and the sun couldn't penetrate the thick darkness that blanketed it.

Suddenly a man with the appearance of a star wearing a shining garment appeared, and great fear came over Corey as he fell on his face, but the man said, "Do not be afraid." A great peace came over as he was helped to his feet. Corey noticed the man had some trumpet in his hands, "Take the shofar from my hand and blow it facing the Earth to the east."

He did as he was instructed, and soon a great light penetrated the earth dispelling the darkness as the sun shone upon the world once again, and soon a great lion appeared with many crowns on his head in the east. Corey noticed that this lion had an inscription on its front leg reading, 'King of kings,' 'Lord of lords,' 'God above all gods, ' and 'One above all. It ran across the sea with 50 legions of stars following it to make war with this dark entity.

The dark entity with his army of symbiotes warred with the lion and the stars that followed him but prevailed not against them. A loud cry was heard. He looked beheld the entity that made war with the nation, and the lion himself was bound hand and foot with heavy chains that came from above as he was thrown to the bottomless pit by two other men with appearances of a star wearing white shining garments.

"Son of man, look, listen, and learn. For I will interpret the vision, you see given to you by the One Above All."

Back in the base, Ororo is frantically trying to get Corey out of the trance he was in for the last two hours but was always brought to her knees. She found out that waltzing right up to him to shake him was a bad idea. Felicia tried to help, and she ended up on the floor with no strength in her body; the same thing happened with Cindy and Angelica.

The only one who was not affected was Peter since he was on the phone on the second floor. With no strength in their body, they couldn't move. They could watch as Corey was in his seat, eyes in a daze as if he was sleeping with his eyes open.

Ororo, though weak, felt a divine presence emitting from the young man; it lasted another moment before he blinked. The presence lifted, but the fire in the atmosphere remained. Coming too, he had tears running down his face, and he quickly opened a word document and began to type rapidly on the computer.

Peter finally comes down to the main floor looking at the four women on the ground, "What are you girls doing on the floor?"

Finally, regaining strength, they looked at each other, wondering what that divine presence was or where it came from. Corey finishes typing saving his document putting encryption on it as he leans back.

Ororo finally gets up and goes near him, places a hand on his shoulder; he looks back at her. She stares at him worriedly, but he pats her hand gently before getting up and leaving without saying another word.

He strides past Peter. The young arachnid hero jerks his thumb towards the tall hero, "What's his deal?" The girls didn't know how to respond, only shrugged, "Any who…I just spoke with Dare Devil. He said to meet him in Hell's Kitchen Hotel Riu Plaza New York Times Square rooftop."

"Are we going to rescue Lorina?" Felicia asks

"Yes, and he is going to help us," Peter responds

"Good, I owe that Gypsy Moth a beatdown."

"What are we to do with the lockdown?" Angelica chimes

"It would best to check it out." Peter suggests, "I think Angel, it would be if you and Ms…."

"Ororo."

"Right, Ororo…check out one of these bridge closures Angel and report back. Felicia, you, and Corey will see Daredevil and Cindy." The young Asian woman pipes up, "Stay here and monitor the situation."

Cindy was displeased with this notion, "Really, Peter?"

"Trust me, you can…."

"No!" Cindy got in his face, "I will not be sidelined while you and the others risk your neck for the good of this city. I will go with Angelica and Ororo to see what is going with the bridges."

Peter cups her face, "Cindy, you know the police are after you and me."

She grabs his hands, "I can take care of myself, you know."

Sighing, Peter says, "Fine, but if the situation gets too hot, get out of there."

She smiles, nodding her head, "You got it."

"Let's get moving; we got a friend to save and a whole city."

Time passes, and the six heroes split in two different directions, one to meet with Dare Devil and the other to see one of the bridges. Storm and Angelica fly overhead as the Silk web swings to travel despite her fear of heights.

Ororo's mind keeps reeling back the divine presence that she felt. She wants to speak with Corey about it; eventually, something has really shaken him to the core. The three women don't say a word to each other as they reach one of the bridges. Silk is on one of the bars while Storm and Firestar observe from above.

They look to see a massive roadblock ahead as many people are lined up in front of the blockade, beeping at them, trying to get through. Many personnel trying to move traffic or turn them back though one man came out of his limo in a white suit and brown cane. King Pin, Wilson Fisk walks up to the authorities, demanding, "Who's in charge here!? As a citizen of New York City, I demand that you open this bridge!"

The officer responds, "Sorry, sir, but I have orders to stop anyone from leaving. All five of the Boroughs are under quarantine; no one gets in or out."

"This is outrageous!" He bellows but calms down, "I plan to go to my country estate, now stand aside."

"You know you should listen to the authorities." Silk lands on the roof of a car while civilians point their fingers and gawk at her. "Besides, I don't think the bridge can handle your weight, so…."

"I know exactly what's going on here." He interrupts, "How's your counterpart and the alien costume?"

That shut Silk up; her eyes widened, "How did you…."

"Please, do you think this is the first time I've heard of that miscreant and suit?" Fisk says, "Three years ago, he had the same costume on; it changed him."

Silk looks down at her black-gloved hand, 'How much trouble is this symbiote?' She wonders. She will talk later with Peter. Maybe keeping the symbiote was not such a good idea in the first place.

Fisk turns back to the authorities, "I only wish to retire back to my private island estate. Please, gentlemen, be reasonable and step aside."

"Are you actually afraid, mister?" Silk asks

The man draws a long breath, "Where are all the good heroes? Richards, Stark? The so-called geniuses that will help get rid of these things. Instead, we get children to do the work of professionals."

One of the authorities recognized Silk, "Hey, were you with Spider-Man connected to the rooftop incident?"

Panicking, Silk quickly denies, then leaves, "Nope, gotta go, people to save, tata for now!"

"Hey, stop!"

Too late, she leaves with two flying people as well. He turns back to his crew, "I could have sworn that was her!"

"She's got the costume all wrong."

As the trio left the bridge Angelica asked, "What was that about?"

"A man wanted to leave but was denied. Apparently, he knows something about the symbiote."

"Oh really?"

"Yeah, I don't know how."

"Well, what did he look like?"

"Um…big man, white tuxedo on with some type of cane, bald in the head…with two heavily armed men…."

"Wait, you spoke with King Pin?"

Silk looks at Firestar with a comprehensive eye, "That was King Pin?"

Storm, now intrigued, comments, "Who is this King Pin you speak, Firestar?"

Angelica looks ahead, "One of the most powerful criminals in New York City, Wilson Fisk, rules the underworld with a signature blend of cruelty and charm…."

Meanwhile, Black Cat hangs onto Spider-Man as they swing to the hotel's rooftop with Superman X flying next to him at low speeds as he follows the web-slinger. Felicia hears Peter grumble, "Stupid multipowered man…it's not fair…."

"I heard that, you know."

"Good, you were meant to hear that!"

"Don't be jealous now. It's so unlike you; your webbing is really cool," X commented.

"Yeah? That doesn't mean flying isn't cooler or more convenient. Beats web-swinging by a mile." He looks at the hotel, "Here we are."

They land on top of the rooftop, waiting for their esteemed guest. X looks over the city listening to everything going on, homing in on his new super hearing. While he does that, Spider-Man and Black Cat have their own hushed conversation about Lorina.

"Are you sure this Dare Devil will be any help, Peter?" Felicia leans on a wall with one foot on it and her arms crossed. Staring at her ex as he is on it with his back to the wall.

"I'm positive that he will be a tremendous help; why?"

"The only reason is that we could have saved Lorina long ago with the big guy right over there and his technology." Felicia jerks her thumb, "Why do we need this new person I've never met before."

Peter drops to the floor, grabbing Felicia's hand and pulling her away from the wall into an embrace. He holds herself, "Well, Superman's powers are still in development, as he told me before, plus Daredevil has a unique sense of hearing."

"You've teamed up before I take it?"

Spidey nods his head, "The more, the merrier, which is why we to Murdock and Nelson I had to speak with Matt to get ahold of Daredevil." He knew he was lying about the last part, but Felicia doesn't know who Daredevil really is.

"So, how long do we have to wait for your friend to arrive?" Cat asks

"I'm already here." A voice calmly replied

All six eyes turn to find a man coming from the shadows, wearing protective body armor. The suit is a red uniform with reinforced plating lined over a durable material that allows greater mobility. The suit's cowl is a separate component, with design cues depicting the Christian devil and red lenses to protect the wearer's eyes. He has a double 'D' on his right pec, somehow interlocking.

Spider-Man lets go of Black Cat and go up to the man, "Daredevil."

"Spider-Man. Long time." The pair shake hands, "I heard from that lawyer you needed my help; why?"

"We got a situation that pertains to a friend being kidnapped, we know who the kidnapper is, but we want to take precaution in not alerting her captor that we know that we are on to her."

"Stealth mission then?" Daredevil questions, "Do we have any leads to where she is then?"

"As a matter of fact, I do." Superman walks up to the three unleashing a holographic map to the exact location Sybil is.

Daredevil's ears picked a slight hum, "Who might you be?"

"I'm Superman."

"Superman, eh? Does this mean that your ego is super strong?" A twitch in the eye, but Superman does nothing as Matt adds, "I also want to point out that I'm blind, so I cannot see your holographic map."

"My apologies, I didn't know."

He says nothing, only hums, but his ears show that he uses some type of voice distortion. It is clear to him that this fellow disguises his voice so that his normal voice is not detectable or recognizable.

Black Cat's eyes widen as she pulls Spider-Man, "You sent for a blind man to help us?"

Hearing this, Murdock frowns, "Not because I am blind doesn't mean I am incapable of not helping you."

Black Cat looks at him with much uncertainty, "I don't have time for this. My friend is in danger, and I will not sit around waiting for anything to happen!"

Black Cat is hit in the back with a Billy Club just as she turns around. Staggering Cat turns around, "Did you just hit me with a stick?"

Sensing danger Spider-Man is about to interfere when Superman stops him. He looks at him, bewildered as to why he is stopping him, but the man of steel in training before Cat lunges at Daredevil. The blind man dodges the feline-themed woman as she scratches nothing but air as he twists his body around from his face being clawed.

Angered, Cat sweeps the floor only for Daredevil to dodge by flipping backward. He gets into a fighting stance making a come-hither motion. Irritated, Cat screams; she launches a series of kicks and punches, but the man blocks each one. He catches her leg and then sweeps her other leg causing her to fall.

Daredevil looks down on Black Cat; he connects his Billy club, making a vast pole twirling it expertly as he assumes a fighting stance, waiting for the feline-themed vigilante to make a move.

Now beyond irritated, the platinum blonde handsprings to her feet as Felicia grits her teeth, "Don't you dare look down upon me!" She rushes towards the man in red, but before anything could happen, Daredevil trips her with the pole and then slams her down, using her stomach to lay her on her back.

Peter winces, but Corey remains stoic. The former looks at the man, "So that's why you held me back."

The tall man nods, "Sometimes it is better not to underestimate a person, a lesson given to me by my later mentor."

"I see…"

Felicia grunts, but the pain in her stomach stops her from moving too much. Daredevil then comments, "Never underestimate your opponents. Just because I am blind doesn't mean; I don't have other abilities at my disposal." He lifts the staff breaking it apart, "There is no greater danger than underestimating your opponents. Another piece of advice is never underestimating the capacity of another human being to have the same shortcomings you have."

Cat looks away in anger; she picks up, pushes through the pain, and storms off. Spider-Man sighs going after Cat. Daredevil then walks up to Superman; the duo doesn't say a word to each other but instead overlooks the city.

They said nothing for the first few moments until X said, "You didn't have to humble her like that."

"Maybe, but life doesn't exist to meet our expectations. Have you heard the saying, 'life is not fair'? You would understand if you only knew what I've gone through." He says, putting away his Billy Club, "If you want to change your life, you will have to start taking 100 percent responsibility, and complaining about it is only the hobbyhorse of a victim mentality."

"Hmm…"

After some time and some healing, the four stand together while X tries to go over the plan. The map now brightens, given an intense heat that allows Daredevil's senses to pick up on this.

"…She located somewhere the Hudson River Warehouse 65 that was the last known location that Sybil is at. My guess is where she is holding our captive, Lorina Dodson."

Daredevil crosses his arms as the map fades away, "If you can figure all that out using your high-tech gadgets, why do you need me for this ride?"

Spider-Man looks at Daredevil, "If anything goes wrong, at least we are not down a man. Besides, this mutant we are about to face has the power to control material and objects with her mind. Plus, our friend Superman's power isn't really the best when it comes to senses."

X is about to retort but stops realizing that he hasn't shared the information that he just developed the super hearing ability more proficiently than the last time. So, he kept it to himself.

"Interesting…so what do we do after getting the drop on her?"

"Find Lorina and save her." Cat says, "So what are we waiting for? Let's go!"

Cat jumps off the rooftop, firing a grappling hook with the other men looking at each other, shrugging before following suit.

It took a few minutes to gather around warehouse 65 on the other side of Manhattan facing Brooklyn on another building. The trip was silent, and Black Cat was eager to storm the warehouse to find her friend.

X frowns after using his x-ray vision, seeing an act that he didn't want to see; Daredevil could hear the very explicit language being used and shudders at the sound of sexual activity. The look on their face causes concern for the feline theme vigilante.

She asks him, "What's going on in there?"

"Let's just say that your friend is enduring very umm…." X didn't have the right words for her but Daredevil, on the other hand.

"Your friend is being raped while gagged and possibly tied up against her will."

The world stopped spinning for Felicia; she blinked once. Spidey winced, sucking his teeth. He places a hand on her shoulder; the platinum blonde-haired woman doesn't even register the gesture as the words echo in her mind.

Miffed, Superman looks at Daredevil, "Did you have to be blunt about it!"

"Better she knows now than later." The response came

"Oh, that b**** is going down, HARD." Superman speeded in front of her, when Felicia was about to move, "Get out of my way!"

"Calm down and think this through. Sybil can manipulate materials using her mind. What do you think will happen if you decide to go in their guns blazing?"

She grits her teeth, "Then what do you suggest!? We don't have a lot of time, you know!"

Inside Warehouse 65 in the office, as Sybil puts her clothes back on, finishing another one of her 'sessions.' Lorina shakes, her body covered with sweat; the physical abuse gets to her. The strawberry blonde is going in and out of consciousness. She didn't know how much longer she would last. Though she never lost hope that someone would rescue her, it is becoming more and more of a reality that she is slowly succumbing to lies of Sybil.

It's been how many days since she kidnapped her? Two, maybe three? A week? She didn't know, her chances of escape were fleeting before her eyes, and the crazed mutant had her way with her.

Speaking of the woman, she lifts her head forcing eye contact, "Hmm…you are not quite there yet. Still got plenty of fight in you…no matter, you will be mine."

She kisses the gagged Lorina on the lips before leaving, locking the door. Tears began to well up in her eyes, watching the crazed woman go. She keeps quiet in her suffering, wondering how long this will last.

Lorina is alone, naked, and afraid. She wasn't too sure what the future would hold for her. The door started to jiggle; Lorina's eyes shot up and became small. 'No, no, no, no! Not again!' More tears poured down her cheeks, and she watched the door opening very slowly in utter horror, but to her surprise and instant relief, Black Cat and a tall man having the 'S' insignia came through the doors.

"Lorina!" Cat rushes in to embrace the other woman; she removes the ball gag as the former hugs her friend gladly, still alive.

Lorina finally let the dam be unleashed as she wept; Cat held her tightly. Superman came around, breaking her bonds in which Lorina hugged her friend tightly. The strawberry haired woman cried harder than ever before for the first time in her life.

Felicia coos, "Shh…I'm here, I'm here…."

Unclipping his cape, he drapes the fabric over the naked body of Lorina breaking the ankle cuffs off her at last. It seemed like hours, but Lorina soon fell asleep holding tight to her friend, Felicia, looking at Superman."Turn around." He does as Felicia does a makeshift dress for her best friend; she carries the more petite girl in a bridal carry, "You can face again." X does so. Felicia gestures for him to take Lorina, "Take her to a safe place, I'm entrusting you with my friend. Don't make me regret this decision; I'm coming after you if you harm her!"

"While your threat is noted, Felicia." Corey holds the sleeping White Rabbit in his arms, "There is no physical harm you can do to me, so if I were you, I'd be careful who you threaten." He looks at the strawberry blonde, "Besides, she's in good hands." He smiles

He leaves the room leaving Felicia to her thoughts. Now angered by the revelation that her best friend was sexually assaulted without her consent, she wants to find Sybil. The blonde wanted the crazed mutant to pay. She looks around the room; there is nothing here to use, but she notices the exposed pipeline.

"Perfect." Using her enhanced strength, she tears it apart and just as she wanted it, it spiked on one end, "You will pay."

She leaves the room finally, regardless of what Peter warned her not to do, she will have revenge. The thoughts of her ex raping her came to mind angering her, no this time vengeance will be hers. She will not be denied what was stolen from her years prior.

At the same time Daredevil and Spider-Man were having a somewhat difficult time with Gypsy Moth. She had many fabrics at her disposal that were a nuisance to them as she covered their faces. However, they noticed that she wasn't that great of a fighter whenever one of them got too close; she was excellent at using her powers, lousy when it came to combat. She would use her control to wrap a piece of fabric around her opponent's face just for the other hero to go and try to confront her just for her to escape and break concentration.

Sybil wasn't going to surrender, and she wasn't going to prison. However, these two clowns in tight spandex were grating on her nerves. How did they find her? She wondered, she covered her tracks well, and she just bought tickets for a boat trip to get out of New York to go back to California.

If they were here, they knew something about her latest prize. She needed to end the fight quickly or get in cuffs. Daredevil and Spider-Man were behind some crates; they looked at each other. The man, without fear, comments, "This getting ridiculously! We can't get close to her without her using her powers. Can't you do something?"

"Yeah, sure, whatever. Every time I try to get close, Sybil uses her power to throw me off. Never thought being bombarded by someone's laundry was a thing; she should pay for my dry-cleaning bill."

"You can't stop me, hero!"

"Oh yeah? When you stop throwing clothes at us and begin to fight like a man, we'll see about that."

Daredevil picks up footsteps coming from above and hears a feminine grunt. Someone was coming to help them. They needed to buy to time for the person to get the drop on this fabric manipulator.

Moth smirked, commenting, "You know you wouldn't be too bad for my collection Spider-Man. It's too bad I have to kill you."

"Ah, no thanks, I got a prettier girlfriend than you."

Matt hears something similar along the lines of: "Got you…." He then hears a strain; something has been thrown, but he doesn't know what; he expands his sense with great effort. Spider-sense triggered as well; Spidey is on alert for whatever threat Moth was about to do. Before any word could be said, an agonizing scream pierces the air. Both vigilantes pause, the same question burning through their minds, what just happened. They bolted to the location of Sybil, and to Spider-Man utter horror, the woman had been pierced by a metal pole through the chest.

He looks up and sees a satisfied look on Black Cat's face. There was no remorse, just bliss.

"Cat…" He began, "What have you done?"

"Justice."

LXD: How do you do? Sorry for the delay but work and figuring out where to take this chapter was really grating on me. I'm not going to respond to any comments; I'll save them for the next chapter. Please leave a comment, sub, or fav, and I'll see you guys next chapter.
