When the sun was nowhere to be seen in the star, Lin Ye, who was sitting by the window admiring the moon above, felt a little dazed.
Everything that he went through today was almost like some type of action movie. When you thought you understood what was happening, the director then threw a meteor to your face to mess up your understanding.
If he had to guess, if an audience was watching all of this come to play, they would be on the edge of their seats and enjoy the movie.
However, the character of said movie, Lin Ye, just wanted to end this story happily.
He was getting tired of all of these "excitements".
Thinking about all of this, made his head hurt. He scratched his head, annoyed at how complicated all of this was. He then lowered his gaze from the full moon and groaned into his hand.
"Can't everything be simpler? Give me a break," He said to no one practically.
After he was done whining, he took out his mobile phone and found that Yelena's phone number was still on display.
He stared at the string of numbers for a long time. After much hesitation, he finally made up his mind and sent a text message to her.
He did not have the guts to call her just yet.
What a coward I am.
He chuckled at this thought.
He thought that Yelena would not return so soon, so he was about to close his phone and lay down to cool down.
So it came to his surprise when he heard a notification come on his phone just when he was about to close it.
He started at the notification and it was a message sent by Yelena.
He then opened the message and saw what was in it.
[Meet me on the roof at midnight.]
Midnight?
He looked at the clock on his phone and saw it was just half an hour before 12.
A smile made its way to his face.
As impatient as always.
With that, he put away his mobile phone and prepared to go out, grabbing his coat. Then something caught his attention from the corner of his eyes.
Maple and his guns, Vector and Contender, All of them were laying peacefully on his bed.
He stared at them for a while.
He shook his head and went to the door.
He would not be needing them after all.
As he opened his door, someone was waiting for him outside.
Skadi almost gave him a heart attack.
"Skadi?" Lin Ye asked cautiously, "Why are you here?"
Skadi raised her head slowly, glanced at Lin Ye, and asked calmly, "Are you going to that woman?"
"Ugh," Lin Ye subconsciously wanted to deny it, but for some reason, when he looked at Skadi, he couldn't convince himself to lie. He sighed and gave her a troubled smile.
"Was I really that predictable?" He laughed, "Yes. I need to meet her. I need to ask her some questions."
"Why?" Skadi asked.
"I need to know that she is nothing like Mephisto."
"Who?"
"Ah, I almost forgot I never told you about him," He sighed, "He was someone I've met before. He was a member of Reunion, same as her. I want to make sure that she really is different from him."
"They are indeed not the same people."
Lin Ye was glad she agreed to him but he knew something was missing.
"One is a man and the other is a woman."
Lin Ye's smile froze.
And there it was.
"Really Skadi," He chuckled, "Really?"
"Yes, I am. I just want to say that you always seem to have preferential treatment for women." Skadi put down her hand, ignored Lin Ye's expression, and walked away from him, "Let's go."
"Let's go?" Lin Ye didn't respond for a while, "Where to?"
Skadi glanced at Lin Ye and said, "Aren't you going to find that woman?"
"Yeah," He stared at her nervously. "But aren't you here to stop me?"
"Why should I?" Skadi said calmly, "I'm just here to go with you."
His eyes widened but he quickly chuckled.

Three people were on a roof.
It was the roof where Lin Ye helped Yelena.
When both Skadi and Lin Ye arrived here, Yelena was already here waiting for him.
"Yelena," Lin Ye called her.
She turned to look at him, but there was not much emotion in those eyes of hers, which made Lin Ye feel a little twitch in his heart.
It was obvious that they had been separated for less than four hours, but it felt like he was facing a different person now.
This was not Yelena.
This was FrostNova, the leader of the Yetis.
However, Lin Ye could not bring himself to see her differently. She was still Yelena to him.
With a heavy heart, he started the conversation with her.
"I have something to ask you." Lin Ye said.
Yelena was silent for a while, and then slowly said, "The same goes for me."
"I see." He hummed, "Then you can ask first."
Yelena didn't back down, nodding at him.
She stared at Lin Ye, and said slowly, "Half a year ago, did you kill a group of Infected in Kjerag?"
Lin Ye's eyes softened at this.
"There were really…"
Her hand tightly grasped the armrest beside her. Lin Ye could frost slowly forming on it.
White frost.
"Lin Ye," Her voice was barely a whisper, "Tell me."
After listening to her question, Lin Ye already knew the answer to the question he was about to give.
So he was silent for a while, and then instead of answering her directly, he asked his question.
"Yelena, I want to know," Lin Ye stared at her, "Do you know Mephisto?"
Neither of them answered each other's questions directly, but their questions could serve as answers to the other's questions.
Yelena slowly let go of the bar and half of the roof was frozen at this moment with frost.
However, Lin Ye was not bothered by it.
What bothered him at how cold her tone was now.
"Sure enough, it's you," Yelena tried her best to keep her tone calm. She did a good job but Lin Ye easily saw her gripping hard to her sides, "I want to know why. Why did you kill them, my family?"
Her family.
Hearing this almost broke his heart.
At this time, Lin Ye guessed that the technical team that Mephisto had brought half a year ago was Yelena's family.
As for her question, he only answered truthfully. He told her his honest thoughts at the time he killed her family.
"Because those people want to hurt something dear to me."
Sussuro being held hostage.
Irene getting kidnapped.
Lappland's body being pierced by arrows.
He would not let that be.
"So you killed them all?" She asked him with heat.
"Just two or three of them," Lin Ye Said, "Everyone else died in an avalanche."
"An avalanche?" Yelena obviously didn't expect Lin Ye to say that. The Yetis died in an avalanche? She almost laughed at her. Her eyes pierced into Lin Ye and he accepted it without even flinching, "Do you think I would believe you?"
"Do you think I'll lie to you?" Lin Ye said, "Especially at this time."
Yelena was silent by this.
Lin Ye knew that the situation that both of them were in right now was not something easy to deal with.
From the way that she described them, Lin Ye knew that the people that were under her were more than soldiers. They were her family. With how she was acting too, he knew that the people that were killed at Kjerag were important to her.
And he killed some of them.
No matter what excuse he gave, he killed her family.
"Mephisto's dead." Yelena replied in a very blunt tone, "Otherwise I would not have come to you."
"He's dead?" Lin Ye was stunned, "How?"
Didn't the Messiah say he's not dead yet?
Then he felt a sudden chill on his body. His eyes widened but he quickly adopted a cold expression…
The image of a hooded man came into his mind
Ah… It's you.
"I think that would be all from me," Yelena said, "I think we should not meet again."
After speaking, she turned around and faced her back to Lin Ye, obviously not wanting to have more conversations with him.
This made Lin Ye's face soften.
He wanted to talk to her more, but he felt his words would mean nothing to her. She would not listen to him anyways.
"That's fine." He could only smile bitterly at her, "But I have to disagree with you."
This made Yelena stop in her tracks. She slowly glanced behind her and stared at him, "What do you mean?"
"I know that you won't forgive me and I understand," He smiled at her, "But I want to see you again."
Yelena's eyes widened and turned her head to stare at him.
He showed a sad smile at her.
She opened her mouth to say something but her words died in her mouth. She lowered her gaze to not look at him.
After a while, she heard him again.
"I'm going back. If you have any problems, just call me. If you have any problems with your body, please tell me."
After finishing talking, Lin Ye also turned around and went to the stairs.
However, before he left he heard something that made him stop himself.
"No matter what, you saved my life." Yelena's voice echoed in the night, "I won't betray you."
Lin Ye looked back at Yelena as she stared at him.
Both of them looked conflicted.
Lin Ye wanted to say something, but in the end, he stopped himself.
He gave Yelena one final smile and left the scene.
Skadi didn't follow him.
She deliberately stayed back, leaving her and Yelena alone now.
When Skadi knew Lin Ye was nowhere near them, she turned to Yelena.
Both of them stared coldly at each other.
After a while of silence, Skadi broke it.
"If he didn't kill those people six months ago, you wouldn't be standing right now."
Yelena coldly asked her, "What do you mean?"
She knew this person in front of her was strong but she did not care.
"I just want to say, you better not do things that make me regret this."
"Regret?"
"Yes, regret," Skadi said coldly, "Making me regret not having your head chopped off that afternoon."

As Lin Ye walked into the alley, something stopped him.
He gazed above him to see a full moon shining its rays of light onto him. The colour of the moon seems to resemble that of a blue crystal of some sort.
It was beautiful.
However, the sight of it made him want to make it explode. It reminded him too much of… him.
The moon's light reflected onto Lin Ye's eyes, making them mimic its colour and making them glow.
With his blue eyes, he glared at the moon.
"Did you enjoy the fucking show?"
No one replied.
Not like he expected it.
Then he puffed off a mist of cold air from his lung.
He was cold.
But only I can feel it based on the others who did feel it… Still, I need to hide this from the others.
With that, he continued walking.
However, as he felt the scene, at the place where he stood just a moment ago, there was some black frost left behind.
The moon shone brightly up in the sky.
And not far from where Lin Ye stood, a man standing on top of a building was looking at the moon.
Blues eyes stared at it indifferently.
"Hope the cold doesn't bother him. If not, he needs to deal with it," The man then muttered to himself, "What was hers is now yours."
