Lin Ye, Skadi and Exusiai were now set off on their return journey, after they stayed at Sokk for less than a day.
Undoubtedly, this was not enough time for them to completely rest but what could they do? In the past few hours, Sokk has dramatically changed. This was something that the people living here would remember for a very long time.
As they were about to leave the town, this small town was completely taken over by Yelene's Yetis Squad. The change was very noticeable for Lin Ye to see.
Posters of recruitment were plastered on every building that he passed to join them. The lights of the town were now shining throughout the night. But he did not care about all of that.
What he cared about was how the people that were living here were reacting to all of this.
More people come out to the streets. He could hear children playing. He saw some of the Yetis patrolling the town.
So compared to their last leader, the public opinion of their new leader was much better. This came to no surprise to him, seeing that most of the residents in this place were majority Infected. From what he heard from people talking, Yelena gave the people her words, saying that she would protect everyone in the town, Infected or not.
Suffice to say that he wasn't that worried about the town now. It looked like it was in good hands now.
As to the people that used to run this town, after their boss was dead and all that, most of them had already fled the town.
This is actually a good thing, and Lin Ye is also happy to see that the infected are not oppressed. However, Lin Ye remembering that Yelena and her group were a part of Reunion still left a bitter taste for him.
He shook that thought as soon as it appeared.
He believed in the Yetis to take care of this town.
He trusted Yelena.
Speaking of Yelena, when leaving the town, Lin Ye originally wanted to send a text message to her.

However, no matter how much he wanted to press the send button, his finger just hovered.
Finally, he decided to delete the message and put his phone away.
He thought that if he sent the message it would just ruin her mood so it might be too early for him to talk to her.
Besides she had a whole city to take care of, he did not want to bother her. So it was better for him to just leave for now.
Then his mind wondered at what made their relationship to be… strained.
He killed some of her family.
If Lin Ye was being honest, he did not feel guilty about killing them. They threaten to hurt people that he cares about. It was not that he enjoyed killing, it was just that if needed, to keep the people that he held dear safe, he would not hesitate.
That was why he understood why Yelena would hate him.
He sighed at the situation that he was in now. He needed to focus, he was driving after all.
On how he got the small van in the first place, a smile appeared on his face as he remembered.
They found a van parked just in front of their hotel. On the van, laid a note just on its front window.

Even without having a clue for him to use, he knew who this was.
That girl. Looks like you don't hate me that much.
As for the original purpose of their trip, Lin Ye certainly did not forget.
Although Chris had never heard of the secret medicine of the east, he still issued a request to get more information about it. Using the channels of bounty hunters, he believed there should be news soon.
"Ah! I am tired!" Exusiai stretched her waist hard in the back seat, "I can finally go back!"
Lin Ye, using the mirror, glanced at her and said, "You've only been out for a few days, you're already that tired? I heard you did way more when you worked at Lungmen. If so, this should be a breeze for you."
"How can this place be compared to Lungmen?" She sighed and said, "Working in Lungmen is hard work and the boss would try to find excuses to deduct my salary every day. But every day you can eat fresh apple pie, drink fresh drinks or fruit wine. You can do all of that here, now can you?"
"Oh really?" Lin Ye smirked hearing this, "I remembered you enjoying some apple pie yesterday or was I seeing things?"
"Don't lumped that thing with apple pies! I refused to even call it food!" Exusiai growled at him, "That thing was filled with rotten apples."
With how you enjoyed it, I thought you loved it. Maybe it was because it was free?
Lin Ye then remembered something that happened to him and glanced at her with stink eyes.
"Hey Exusiai," He called her, " I remember when we fought at the bar, I distinctly remember getting hit by a few rubber bullets. You wouldn't be the one that shot me?"
"Oh, look at that. It must be noon now," Exusiai looked at the sun high up in the sky and took a blindfold out of her jacket, "It's time to go to bed."
"Oi?"
That damn angel had the audacity to put the blindfold on, "Sorry, what did you say? I can't hear you."
"Oi! You are wearing a damn blindfold, not earmuffs! So you shot me yesterday! Hey! Wake up! I am not done with you!" Lin Ye shouted at her but Exusiai just continued on laying down.
Although anyone with even the IQ of a toddler could see that she was pretending to sleep.
He sighed and just let her be.
Skadi who was sitting by his side just continued to gaze at the view outside of the window and did not say a word.
It did not take them long for them to arrive at Rhodes Island. They did not take a quick rest at Chernobog so it was accepted they arrived earlier.
Lin Ye did have to sacrifice his sleep though but he wasn't that tired. So it was a couple of hours past midnight.
Naturally, everyone went back to their rooms to rest. Luckily for them, it just so happens that tomorrow they had a legitimate reason not to go to work, so they could sleep as long as they want.
Though he had to be careful not to bump into a certain vampire. With how she knew that Yelena was the first successful test subject for the L-Cell, naturally, Lin Ye was asked to bring Yelena to meet Warfarin for physical examination.
However, with how their relationship was now, it was impossible for him to bring her with him to the island. Warfarin did say to kidnap her.
The worst part? He wasn't even surprised that mad scientists would suggest that to him.
That idea was not accepted by him.
For now, he should be focusing on getting enough rest now. So bragged about his tired body back to his room. He was surprised that his room was not locked.
When he returned to his dormitory, Lin Ye was surprised to find that Ansel was still awake. It was quite late now.
"Oh? You're back," Ansel, who was wearing his pyjamas and sitting on his bed, was reading a book. Lin Ye could see he had a mug of hot milk. The bunny boy glanced at Lin Ye and said lightly, "Don't ask me why I didn't sleep at this time, I just got up late at night."
"Oh?" Lin Ye breathed a sigh of relief and walked into the room, "Good to know. I thought I had to break in."
"Since I know this will happen, why can't you come back earlier next time?" Ansel rolled his eyes at Lin Ye, "I heard that you went to Ursus, was it fun?"
"Fun? Not much. I got what I wanted though," Lin Ye sighed, "I think I might be just as unlucky as you guess."
"Is that so?" Ansel hummed and glanced at the hot chocolate in his hand and back to Lin Ye, "Want some hot chocolate? There is a cup of it on the table, just take it."
Just grab a cup and get it on my table."
"Ah, thank you," Lin Ye felt that Ansel was getting a bit kinder to him now.
So after he put his things down, he walked to the table and picked up the cup from the table. When he was about to take a drink from it, he found a few documents near it.
"Is this yours?" Lin Ye asked his roommate.
"No." Ansel lowered his head and continued to read, "It's yours"
"Mine?" Lin Ye raised his brow at this.
"Well, an intern who just arrived and asked to join your department for an internship."
"An intern? Working under me?" Lin Ye was intrigued by this, "Does this person choose me because they thought it would be easy to work with me? Heh, how much does this make? Three? I have three assistants now."
Lin Ye hummed and picked up the paper, drinking his cup as he looked at the form.
"Pfttt!"
What followed a few seconds later was him squirting his drink out of his mouth.
