sorry for the wait, i was mostly writing in the website called space battle, its a little confusing, but is alright, but anyway, I'm gonna be transferring the chapters from there to here

Here's the third chapter, to be honest, I find this a very easy to write story, and I very much enjoy it, hope you like this chapter

Chapter 3 - The Escape

Ok, stepping into the dark world, the first thing I did was quickly grab a glowing mushroom, and walk toward the guard building along with my furry friend and the dwarf.

She was quite insistent on coming as well, although I tried to reassure her that everything should be manageable…to a degree, but she wouldn't budge, I added stubbornness to the personality trait in my head…or protective might be a better descriptor.

Also, the bridge is incredibly soft, and yet it held onto us very well, was this silk? What the hell kind of silk were they using that can hold three human-ish beings?

Well anyway, I made sure to hide the mushroom for a moment, I won't need it until we are inside, and I don't need a guard on the other side of the base spotting us.

I came to the door along with my team and tried to slightly open it, grabbing the handle I tried as much as I could to tilt it.

..Sleight of Hand: 15

Sighing in relief as I managed to open the door without making a sound, looking in, I saw that the two drow in the corner of the room at the window chatting….must be dull.

Thankfully there was a glowing mushroom as a decoration,…I didn't even know drows do decorations, but that's just me assuming.

I tried moving into the room stealthily, I figured there was a good chance they wouldn't notice while they were talking with their backs to me.

I carefully took a step into the room, then another, and another, until I have reached the middle of the room.

.Stealth: 18

Once I did so, I took out my stone and mentally told the others to get in her and get ready to attack, and I prepared to attack, once either all of them were in position or one of them failed to be quiet.

Thankfully, fate was smiling at me, since I didn't hear or see anything, until they were right next to me. We waited for a moment, making sure we knew what we were going to do.

That is, until we noticed the stairs, which was left unguarded, turning to face my teammates, even without using the messaging, we knew the answer was obvious, as we slowly made our way up there.

In there we found a whole bunch of stuff like armor and weapons, so I was assuming this was the armory, quickly not wasting time, I quickly grabbed the Studded Leather and Shield, and put them on.

Also, I grabbed a shortsword, 2 daggers, a long silk rope, a hand crossbow, and a case of 10 bolts, looking back, I can see the quaggoths just sitting there.

I guess he can't really use any of the stuff here, the dwarf lady on the other hand, looking at her, apparently her stuff was stored up in here.

…right next to the slave pen…the hell, why were they kept so close, I get it, they see us as very inferior and all and there are the two guards,…but why was it this close?

Eh, whatever, not like I'm gonna get angry for them being dumb enough to place prisoners equipment in a fairly close spot.

But looking at her, well she had her armor, shield, war hammer and other weaponry on her, she was fully decked out, without saying we definitely can stand a better chance now.

Going back down, we carefully made our way behind them, they seem to still be speaking, in from of the window that showed the entirety of the cavern.

Getting ready we got in position

And then we made our striked

Eldeth was the first to strike, by quite a bit actually with her massive war hammer, and sticks the landing on the top of the more mundane drow's head followed by another once more to the head,…a little bit too eagerly.

…and proceeds to put fear into my heart as she crushes his head,…I almost flinched at the violent death, but I couldn't exactly allow myself at the moment, I can feel guilty later and cry myself asleep when we have escaped.

Obviously after seeing the guard he was literally just talking to just got murdered, the bewildered, more fancy-looking drow attempted to draw his shortsword, but not before I had my chance to attack.

Taking my sword, which had quite a bit of wait, as I never really wielded a sword in…well, ever, but with the shoved in knowledge and fake experience, I wielded the blade as if I had my whole life as I tried to stab him.

And I managed to stab him along his side, though he managed to position himself to take less lethal damage, when I finished I made sure to move a little to the drows side to make sure to give the Quaggoth his space to attack.

Jumping forth the Cursed prince or the mad monster managed to claw him in the chest, giving him a blood-drawing wound, and didn't hesitate to do another to the face, sadly the drow just managed to move his head back to avoid the attack.

It was only now the drow had enough time to pull out his shortsword and was about finished pulling himself together.

Elastin, once more took her hammer and attempted to do what she did to the other drow, unfortunately the two blows were completely blocked by the chain armor.

Once more my turn, I took my sword once more and went behind the drow that's currently facing the dwarf, he definitely noticed me, but he will have a bit of a problem facing both me and her.

And apparently that massively helped out, since I managed to strike him somewhat around the middle of the back, and him letting out a pain filled grunt as he coughed out blood as my sword came out the other side.

Ignoring the bile that's threatening to come out, once more Quaggoth's turn to attack came on, he swiped twice more unto the drow, with the drow impressively still being able to dodge and weave both of the strikes.

…well call me impressed, apparently this guy wasn't wearing that fancier stuff for show, he is certainly lasting longer than the other one.

"You dirty misbehaving scum, if you even dream this is enough to take me down, then you have another thing coming," as he attempted to stab our currently armorless friend.

And fully succeeded to land two stabs on the Quaggoths, leaving wounds in their place, although the first wound showed very heavy resistance, though the drow didn't have the same problem the second time.

But the real problem wasn't the would itself, it's the fact that Direndel's body in where he was stabbed started heavily twitching every time he was stabbed.

I can only assume it's some sort of fast acting poison, since after a few seconds the violent twitching stopped.

Ok, stay away from that, like…at all cost

`We will have to finish this up quickly, because I can clearly see why this guy was so confident in taking us on, when from seeing the fact our Quaggoth, who can clearly take more damage than I can dream of looks like he is about to collapse dead on the floor.'" I thought to my other teammate.

Feldrun, who understood my words when she saw the poison in the blade in effect, did not waste time to once more attempt to finish the clearly strong drow up.

She managed to land a blow to the wound that I gave to the drow, who was still trying to take us both on and each side and another one to the same spot with what looked like to me with ease, though that's coming from a newbie.

At this point I can see the drow getting a bit worried, now that I can see blood, start soaking out of the chain armor.

I took the chance to hit him, he turned to me and tried to block me with his shortsword but unfortunately failed to, as I managed to get under it to stab him in the chest directly onto his heart.

I looked up at him, the clearly taller man, as he glared at me with a dark gaze that spoke of hatred, disbelief, humiliation, and loads of other emotions as I flinched back from it, accidentally pulling my sword back out.

Remember how I mentioned the feeling of guilt? Well that just grew several times bigger than I care to compare.

He coughed out a bucket's worth of blood, "…I…killed?….pant…surrou-…cough…nded….by pathetic…..lowlives?" His eyes shut as he falls over to the floor, as the body starts pooling the blood in.

At that moment,…I didn't really know how to feel,…these people who were going to give to the others to be slaves, but I still feel feelings of self-loathing and guilt forming as my hands started twitching which caused my blade to fall out of my grasp.

I can vaguely see Quaggoth sigh in relief that it's over as he started rubbing its wounds that he still clearly felt pain from.

As well as Feldrun calming her breathing from the panting and proceeding to spit at the freshly killed corpse in satisfaction.

Turning her gaze to me, her eyes softened as she went to me and put her hand on my head, "kid, calm your breathing down, this is obviously your first, remember like you said back there, it's either our freedom or remain enslaved," as she spoke softly.

Apparently at some point I started to speed up my breathing, well that explained why I suddenly felt light-headed.

I gulped the air, as I attempted to slow my breathing, I could feel my eyes attempt to tear up, as I stopped myself knowing that this is seriously not the time.

After a minute I managed to calm myself down for now, after I did so, I noticed that the others had made their way into the second flow and retrieved the stuff that they had,…looking at the corpse, I saw the…man's sword, and remembered how damaging it was.

The problem? Every time I attempted to grab it, all he saw was the memory of the…corpse glaring hatefully at him for a second, so he left it there, no matter how amazing the shortsword would be.

After the rest of the prisoners managed to collect everything from what was taken from them and the rest of the armory we made our way to the very edge of the base, with me sort of trailing behind them.

I watched blankly as one by one each of them quickly either climbed down using their claws or just let gravity take them down, with the former going first to make less noise as well as not attract the shit-eating slime.

There was also another cave that was filled with 3 Quaggoths that obviously looked like Direndel, but Sarith placed a quick darkness making sure they can't see anything.

Apparently that'll fool them long enough as they were sleeping, and wouldn't have a way to see them if they do wake up, buying time if that happens.

Climbing onto the stone he looked down into the darkness, he pulled out the mushroom and he could make out the moving liquid, and allowed his body to fall down to the river.

As I figured, Sarith wasn't lying, the slime was on the move, but at a speed that a snail would only be amazed at, he quickly moved his arms quickly to get to land, and silently ran with his fellow slaves to the West Exit, as they excitedly whispered loudly to each other, though he didn't care to hear what about.

What he did find worth hearing was that after 5 mins of running they heard an explosion in the direction they just left, and continued running for who knows how long, into which they had to stop and rest.

Only now looking around, I can see the open space that is the Underdark. The road was severely uneven, though only the dwarf and him seemed to notice, or at least based on appearances.

Beyond my vision of my mushroom, everything was pitch black, as I'm literally the only guy who needed light to see, a thing to add to my thoughts.

Everyone was setting up their places to sleep for the night, as we managed to find a small cave in the nearby wall of the terrain.

Me on the other hand, I was just sitting on the floor hugging my knees, all I could think about was that damn drow back there as I gripped my hand hard.

"…How are you holding up? '' said Feladrin's voice to my left, as I flinched away, it seemed I was too out of it to notice her taking a seat next to me.

I didn't answer, I don't know what to answer, I know what I'm feeling is illogical, I know for a fact that guy wouldn't be going through the same.

All she did for a min was stare ahead with me, as we watched the others set up their sleeping spaces as well as get their armor off, or at least get more comfortable to be able to sleep , "…it's never easy, nor is it ever going to get easier, sure you'll numb to it if you do it enough times,…but like pain it isn't that it hurts less, it's the fact you are use to it,…you are probably smart enough to realize that it was either him or you,"

I simply listened, listened to her cliche words, that I can clearly imagine myself coming up with on the spot, but I listened regardless.

"…i won't always be there when this happens,…since as soon as we reach the surface we will probably split ways as we reach civilization, but for at this moment," she placed an arm at around his shoulder as she pulled him into her, "I'm here, so instead of holding it in,…let it out".

It was cliche

But at the moment, it was exactly what I needed to hear, as I felt salt come down from my eyes.

I don't remember when, but after a few minutes of me just letting it out, I fell asleep, and just let myself go, since I know that this was far from over and I will have to wake up early.

Since I severely doubt she, the "mistress" would allow us to do this easily, the last thing I saw in the darkness was some form of word followed by numbers.

Honestly my first time writing something remotely this psychological damaging to a character, and having them realistically dealing with it.

I'm not entirely sure if what I did made sense, but I'm ready to hear your opinion on this
