Chapter 2: My New Home Chapter
I couldn't believe my eyes. Right in front of me were Sora, Riku, and Kairi. I was overjoyed with excitement as I got up and ran over to them.
"Well, you seem ok," Riku chuckled, putting his arms around me and stroked the back of my head. I heard whispers of the islanders, wondering where I came from and what to do with me.
"Hey, where are you from? And how did you get here?" Kairi began to question,
"And what's your name?" Sora added,
"Oh, my name?" I thought for a moment, realizing I hadn't introduced myself, "Right, my name. Oh uh, my name is Dakota Natalie."
"That's a pretty name." Kairi admired, "And I love your outfit." I looked down and saw that I was wearing new clothes. I was wearing a: short purple sleeve shirt, a pink skirt, and black glossy belt buckle shoes. My long brown hair, which is usually tied up, was now down, but I didn't mind. I liked the feeling of the breeze blowing through my hair.
"She sure is pretty." Sora admired,
"She sure is. It's a pleasure to meet you, Dakota." Kairi smiled, kneeling to meet my eyes,
"It's a pleasure to meet you too, Sora, Riku, and Kairi." I beamed. Everyone gasped in shock that I knew Sora, Riku, and Kairi's names. In fact, I realized they didn't introduce themselves yet.
"How… How did you know our names?" Kairi stuttered, still shocked,
"Because you're in my video game," I said excitedly, not realizing they wouldn't know that,
But we're not in a video game, are we?" Sora asked Riku,
"No, we're not." He answered, "But, considering Dakota knows us, I think she might be from another world."
"Another world!" Everyone exclaimed,
"Aw, not this nonsense again!" A man yelled, coming forward, "There is only one world out there, and that's ours."
"But still, how do you explain that this girl just came out of nowhere, from a big ball thingy that came from the sky." A girl came forward who I recognized; her name is Selphie.
"And there's no sign of her parents." A boy followed up, who I also recognized his name is Tidus.
"Let's face it; this girl isn't from here, and anyone who comes from another world is a friend of mine." Said a taller boy with a ball under his arm. Who you guessed, I also knew his name is Wakka.
Everyone took into consideration what Selphie, Tidus, and Wakka said and convinced themselves that I traveled here from another world,
"So, it's settled then." The mayor spoke, coming forward, "With the evidence presented to us, it is quite obvious that Dakota is, in fact, from another world. And with that." He knelled, meeting my eyes, "I would like to invite you to stay."
"I can stay?" I asked excitedly,
"Yes." The mayor confirmed, chuckling, "You can stay, but only until we can get you back home." The crowd cheered at the news that I would be staying, and I gave everyone big hugs when Riku took my hand, directing me out of the group. "Come on, Dakota, we've got something to show you," he said, leading me to the boats and took me to the island that Sora and the others always played at.
"Wow, so this is the island you always come to." I gasped in awe,
"It sure is." Kairi nodded,
"But that's not the best part. Follow us." Sora said, I followed Sora, Riku, and Kairi as they led me to their usual spot to watch the sunset. It was so pretty if this was a dream I never wanted to wake up, but as we watched the evening, we were being watched. Hiding in the big treehouse was four very special friends that are not just important to the story but to me as well.
"Ugh, I can't wait to get the heck out of here. I'm sick of hiding in the shadows; we need to warn them that they're in danger." Emily Jones groaned, banging the back of her head on a wall,
"There have been enough surprises today, Emily." Emily's older sister Amy stated, holding up her hand, "Besides, the king gave us our orders; we need to keep an eye on Princess Kairi and our future leader." She reminded sternly,
"But the darkness it's coming." Chloe Jonhson spoke up wearily, "We don't have much time left."
"The only thing we can do is be prepared for when the darkness arrives." Chloe's older sister Cindy spoke up, "And speaking of being prepared, Amy, do you have the things Dakota will need for her journey?"
"Yes, I do." Amy replied, "I have her winged backpack, a regular backpack to expand her inventory, and the Rainbow Wand. With this, she should be able to protect herself from the Heartless" Amy listed,
"Good, but if luck is on are our side. They will leave this island before the darkness even arrives." Emily said, looking over at the supplies the gang had been gathering to create a raft to leave Destiny Islands.
"We can only hope, but no matter where they go. The danger they will face will be around every corner." Amy explained as she continued to watch the foursome.
When nighttime fell, I went home with Sora and stayed the night with him. But when I fell asleep, I awoke in my bed in my own house. I was confused at first, but after telling my parents about the night before, they figured it was all a dream caused by playing the game so much. I felt sad at that answer, but my day was still the same. I had breakfast, went to school, and when I got home. I played some Kingdom Hearts with my dad, but when bedtime rolled around, and I fell asleep the following day, I woke up not in my room, but in Sora's room, with him trying to wake me up so we could start our day and work on their big project.
