So, uh I can explain first of all I'm back with my original AU. Sorry it took me seven months to update this again I was so busy with my Daganronpa stories that this one kind of went to the back burner. I wanted to get this out back in January but then I stared working on my Monokuma's new Semester of Killing story and it kind of took over my life I'll try to get more chapters out because I want to finish this story this year. Chapter 12: Return to Traverse Town
"So, even after everything, I told you. You still insist you leave and find your friend?" Maleficent asked,
"I do; even if what you told me is true, Sora has the right to know I'm safe. Plus, I've got a new friend who cares about me who must be worried about me too. That's why. I need to find them. Kairi could be with them for all I know and if she isn't well. We'll look for her together." Riku explained,
"Fine, since you have what you need to defend yourself. You should be fine on your own I know where your friends will be. A small town quite far from here if it weren't for the fact, I have business there, I wouldn't take you." Maleficent explained,
"Still looking for keyholes, are we?" Jessabelle asked,
"That's none of your business!" Maleficent snapped,
"Sorry," Jessabelle said, hiding behind Riku.
"Anyway, when will we leave?" Riku asked,
"Soon, get your bearings. We'll leave in an hour," Maleficent said,
"Yes, ma'am," Riku said as she walked away.
"Well, I guess this is goodbye. Remember what I told you? If someone says something that makes what Maleficent says true, don't run away talk to them about it. Commination is a thing for a reason." Wendy said,
"I know and will. I'm not letting that witch manipulate me besides Sora's new friends seem trustworthy enough." Riku said,
"They are, plus some of them are angels, so that's a plus," Wendy said,
"Thanks for everything, you two. I hope we see each other again under different circumstances." Riku said,
"I hope so too maybe we'll meet again when everyone comes here to take Maleficent down," Wendy said,
"I better get going. I still have some things to pack up. I'll see you two before I leave." Riku said, walking off.
"I really hope this reunion goes well for everyone's sake," Jessabelle said,
"I do, too. If all goes well, Riku will be able to join his friends on their mission. Even if he can't go to other worlds, at least he'll be able to keep Traverse Town safe." Wendy explained,
"Hey, what will happen if things don't go well?" Jessabelle asked,
"I don't want to think about that," Wendy replied,
It took a while to return to Traverse Town, but we made it back safe and sound.
"Phew, finally back that took a while," I said,
"You're right. I wish the Gummie ship had a fast travel feature," Emily said,
"You're back. I'm so happy you're here." Tidus said, greeting us.
"Hi, Tidus, how are you? Where's the others?" I asked,
"I'm doing great. As for the others, they're around here somewhere. Actually, can you help us? We're trying to find a talking puppet named Pinocchio." Tidus explained,
"Pinocchio? You met Pinoc?" Jiminy asked,
"Oh, hi, Jiminy. Yeah, we met him while unloading supplies for the triplets. We wanted to talk with him more, but he ran away. Plus, I think he was holding something. I hope he didn't run into the Heartless." Tidus said,
"We'll help you find him a friend of Jiminy's is a friend of ours, right guys?" I asked,
"Right." They replied,
"Before we go, could you tell us where he was headed?" Cindy asked,
"I think he ran towards the Accessory Shop," Tidus explained,
"Okay, then we'll check it out. Also, we need some more supplies. Can you get the things on this list?" Amy asked, handing it over.
"Yep, we've got a full stock. You might want to check out the new things the ducklings got. Anything else?" Tidus asked,
"Yeah, one more thing, do you know anyone who can tell us about this gummie block?" Sora asked, showing it to Tidus.
"I think Cid might know he seems to know a lot of technical and mechanical stuff," Tidus explained,
"Thanks, Tidus. We'll see you soon." I said as we walked to the Accessory shop.
"Bye guys, I'll let you know when your orders ready," Tidus said.
We walked into the shop, but no one was there.
"Looks like Cid is having a lunch break. Guess we better go find Leon." Emily said,
"Hey, who are you," I asked a little puppet.
"Hey, Dakota, you found him as I live and breathe! If it isn't Pinocchio!" Jiminy said, hopping off Sora's shoulder.
"Oh, hi, Jiminy," Pinocchio replied,
"What in the world are you doing down here?" Jiminy asked.
"Um… Playing hide and seek." Pinocchio lied, causing his nose to grow.
"I just don't believe it. And here I was, up all night just worried sick about you. Why of all the— Pinocchio!" Jiminy said, seeing Pinocchio's nose grow.
"Wow, his nose grows," I said,
"That's what happens when he tells a lie. His nose will grow. That's how he learns. Right, Jiminy?" Amy asked,
"That's right now, Pinocchio. Are you telling me the truth?" Jiminy asked,
"Yes." He replied,
"Then tell me, what is this?" Jiminy asked,
"It was a present," Pinocchio replied,
"No fibbing, now! You know you're not supposed to tell lies. A lie only grows and grows, 'til you get caught! Plain as the nose on your face." Jiminy explained,
"But if you want something, why wait? Why not just take it?" Pinocchio asked,
"Oh, my! Who told you that? You need some advice from your conscience!" Jiminy said,
"That's right; you're my conscience, Jiminy! I'll never tell lies as long as you're around." Pinocchio said, making his nose go back to normal.
"You need to be good, so you can become a real boy. You promised Geppetto you would be, right?" Jiminy asked,
"Oh! Do you know where Father is?" Pinocchio asked,
"He's not with you?" Jiminy asked,
"Jiminy, let's go find Father!" Pinocchio said eagerly.
"Now, hold on! There are all sorts of dangers and temptations out there! I'll go find Geppetto, so you just wait here. Theses' fellows here will be helping me." Jiminy explained,
"We will?" Sora asked,
"Of course, we will. Sora Jiminy's our friend," I said,
"Well, shall we go, Sora?" Jiminy asked,
"You could've asked us first," Sora said,
"We need to save as many people as we can. But in order to do that, we need to find other worlds." Amy said,
"Hey, how about we go find Leon," Goofy said,
"That's a great idea. I think I know where he is; follow me." Emily said, and we followed her to the ally way.
"So why are we here in the ally way again?" I asked,
"Look, there's a secret area in that gutter. I heard Leon trains there sometime." Amy said,
"Do we have to go down there?" Donald asked,
"Well, do you want to find any answers?" Chloe asked,
"Yes," Donald replied,
"Then yes, yes we do," Emily said.
We stopped at a metal grate blocking our way.
"How do we get past this?" I asked,
"Anyone, what to try the new Trinity Charge we just learned?" Goofy asked,
"Why not. After all, there is a trinity mark on the ground." Sora said.
Sora, Donald, and Goofy lined up and smacked into the grate and broke it.
"Wow, where did you learn that?" I asked,
"Back in the Deep Jungle. Now come on, let's see what's down there." Sora said we entered the Secret Waterway and saw Leon and Aerith.
"Hey, guys," I said,
"Hello Dakota, Sora, Donald, and the rest of you, welcome back. How's the adventure going?" Aerith asked,
"It's going well. But we've stumbled upon a roadblock." I said, and we explained the adventure so far.
"So, you found the keyhole," Leon said,
"Yeah, The Keyblade locked it automatically," Sora replied,
"Good," Aerith said,
"Every world among the stars has a keyhole. And each one leads to the heart of that world. There must be one in this town as well." Leon explained,
"What do you mean?" Sora asked,
"It was in Ansem's report," Aerith said,
"The Heartless enter through the Keyhole and do something to the world's core," Leon explained,
"Amy said the same thing to us," Donald said,
"What happens to the world?" Sora asked,
"In the end, it disappears. Poof, gone just like your island Sora. Lost to the Darkness." Amy explained,
"What?!" Everyone exclaimed,
"That's why your key is so important," Leon said,
"Please, lock the Keyholes for us. You're the only one who can." Aerith said,
"I don't know… I need to find Riku and Kairi, plus I promised Donald and Goofy we'd find the king." Sora explained,
"Seeing other worlds would probably serve you well," Leon said,
"Yeah!" Donald said,
"We gotta find your friends and King Mickey!" Goofy said,
"I guess you're right… Okay!" Sora said,
"Hey, Leon. This Gummie block is different from the others. Do you know what it's for?" Sora asked,
"Ask Cid. He should know." Aerith said,
"Wait, Sora, take this with you," Leon said, giving us a stone called Earthshine.
"This stone holds mysterious power. I've been carrying it for luck. I want you to hold on to it." Leon explained,
"How do you use it?" Sora asked, but Leon went deep in thought again. "Uh, Leon?"
"Let's leave him be for now. Let's go find Cid; he should be back at his shop now." I said,
"Thanks for the help," Sora said as we left.
"No problem. Be careful out there." Aerith replied, waving back. "
Oh, I almost forget, Aerith. A man named Cloud wanted me to say he's safe and misses you. He'll come back once he defeats his nemesis." I explained,
"He did, didn't he? Well, if you see him again, tell him to be careful." Aerith replied.
"I will; that's a promise," I said,
We returned to the first district and went inside the Accessory shop.
"Hey there, nice to see you're back in town." Cid greeted us.
"Hey, Cid, we've got something to show you," I said,
"What've you got there? Hey! Well, if it ain't a gummie block." Cid said,
"Yep," Donald said,
"What's this one for?" Goofy asked,
"You're kidding me! You're flyin' a gummie ship, and you don't know nothin' about navigation gummis?" Cid asked,
"Well, it's not like we've been to gummie school or anything," Emily said,
"Bunch of pinheads Interspace is no playground," Cid replied,
"There's a lot we don't know, so what? We have to use the gummie ship to go to other worlds. We don't have a choice," Sora said,
"Whoa, easy. I didn't know. No hard feelings, alright? Well, I guess I could lend you all a hand, then." Cid said,
"Thanks," Sora said,
"Basically, with navigation gummis, you can go to new places. You want one on your ship, right?" Cid asked,
"Yeah, we do; we've been having trouble with the radar lately," Emily said,
"I'll install it for you. But I got this thing I need to deliver first." Cid explained,
"What do you need to deliver?" Sora asked,
"Just this book," Cid replied,
"Did you borrow this from the library or something?" Emily asked,
No, someone gave it to me. It's real old. When the man brought it in, it was practically falling apart. Too beat up to restore it to it the way it was. But overall, I did a decent job puttin' it back together. Anyway, you mind delverin' it for me? It's the old house in the Third District. Look for a big fire sign." Cid said, giving us the book just as a bell started ringing.
"Wh- What was that?" Sora asked,
"Hmm? The bell at the gizmo shop is ringing. Go check it out if you want but deliver that book for me first. When you're done, stop by the house on the Third District. I'll be there." Cid said,
"Thanks, Cid. We'll see you soon." I said as we left.
"So, who do you think lives in the third district?" I asked,
"I think it's a wizard. I remember hearing a wizard used to live in Radiant Gardens before it was destroyed, but I don't remember who it was." Amy said,
"Well, we'll find out soon enough this is the door," Emily said,
"It's locked, though," I said,
"Hey, Sora. Try using your fire spell." Donald said,
"Good idea. Fire!" Sora yelled, firing the spell. The door lit up and opened for us.
"Nice job Sora. You're getting better at this." Emily said,
"Thanks, Emily. Means a lot coming from you." Sora said, and we walked through the door into a cavern with a house on a small island with a large pound around it.
"How do we cross that? I didn't bring my bathing suit." I said,
"From the looks of things, we jump from rock to rock. Or in our case, we fly." Emily said,
"I still can't fly very well. Are you sure I can do it?" I asked,
"Of course, you can, Dakota. I believe in you," Sora said,
"Okay, if you say so," I replied.
Sora, Donald, and Goofy hopped from stone to stone while myself and the others used our wings. It was a little hard for me to fly, but I was getting better at controlling my wings. We made it to the house safe and dry and went inside.
"Wow, nice place," I said,
"It's a little small, though," Amy said,
"There's no one here. Did Cid give us the wrong address?" Emily asked,
"I don't think so," Sora said,
"There's something about this musty place…" Kairi said, snapping our attention to her.
"Kairi?" I asked,
"It reminds me of the secret place back home, where we used to scribble on the walls. Remember?" She said,
"How are you here? Where are you?" Emily asked,
"Don't worry, Emily, I'm both very near and also far away. Just follow Sora's heart. It will show you the way." Kairi said,
"Why must these games have such crypted messages?!" Emily asked,
"Um, Emily? Who are you talking to? There's no one there." Goofy asked,
"Huh, I'm talking to… Huh!?" Emily asked, seeing Kairi was gone.
"What was that about? You saw her, right? That was Kairi." I said,
"It was. She is both near and far… What could that mean?" Amy said,
"I don't know guess we have to keep looking," Sora said,
"Well, well, you arrived sooner than I expected." A wizard said,
"Wa, you knew we were coming?" Sora asked,
"Of course." He said,
"Merlin?!" Emily and the others said,
"Why, hello girls, long time no see I've been looking forward to the day we see each other again. Let me look at you, my have you grown, and this must be your guardian Dakota my what a little cutie you are. It's nice to see young children take an interest in saving the worlds. We need more young faces like you." Merlin said,
"You know each other?" I asked,
"Kind of. Sora, Donald, Goofy, this is Merlin, a famous wizard who has been teaching magic for years. He's the one who taught us the elemental magic. King Mickey told us you'd be helping us on our quest." Amy said,
"The King?!" Donald asked,
"Yes, indeed. Donald, Goofy. And who might you be, young man?" Merlin asked,
"I'm Sora." He said,
"Ah, so you found the key," Merlin said,
"What did the king ask you to do?" Donald asked,
"Just a moment… Presto." Merlin said, using his magic to add furniture to his home. Soon enough, the house was full of Merlin's things and was home once more.
"Wow, how did you do that?!" I asked, amazed,
"Oh, just a flick of the wrist. Now back to business. Your king asked me to train you in the art of magic. We can start anytime you like. Let me know when you're ready to begin training. Oh, and one more thing." Merlin explained, pointing to a pumpkin carriage that turned into a lady.
"Hello, I'm the fairy godmother. Your king asked me to help, too. I will assist you on your journey." She said,
"I do not know how much I can be of help but do stop by anytime," Merlin explained,
"Oh, that's right, we're here for a reason. Merlin, we have your book." I said,
"Oh, that book… So, Cid asked you to bring me this. Thank you." Merlin said,
"You're welcome. I don't know how well it's fixed, though. What kind of book is it anyway?" Sora asked,
"Well, to tell you the truth, I don't know either. In fact, it's not mine. Somehow found its way into my bag one day. It was such a curious book I asked Cid to repair it for me. Well, I guess I'll put it here somewhere, for now. This book holds a great secret. The missing pages will unlock it." Merlin said,
"Well, I guess we have something else to look for. I'm sure we'll find the missing pages on our journey." Cindy said,
"I'll leave the book over there. Do look at it whenever you like. My best regards to Cid for repairing it for me. Oh, and about that stone of yours… You should ask the fairy godmother about that." Merlin said,
"Over here, dearies." She said,
"Do you know what this is?" Sora asked,
"Oh, the poor thing! He has turned into a summon gem." The fairy godmother said,
"A summon gem?" Sora asked,
"This little creature lived in a world that was consumed by darkness. When a world vanishes, so do its inhabits. But this one had such a strong heart; he became a gem instead of vanishing with his world." The Fairy Godmother explained,
"Is there anything you can do to help him?" I asked,
"I can free his power as a spirit. You'll need to use your magic if you want to summon him. Now, watch. Bippity bobbity boo!" The fairy godmother said, using her magic to release Simba.
"Wow, thank you," I said,
"No problem. Whenever you call, he will help you. If you find any more, please bring them to me. Don't worry; when their worlds are restored, they will return there. Sora, please help save them." The fairy godmother said,
"Don't worry; I will," Sora said,
"Well, I think that's everything; we better be going now," Amy said,
"See you soon, girls. Good luck on your travels." Merlin said, waving goodbye with the fairy godmother.
And we went back to the Third District. Only for Heartless to show up, we were ready to take them on when a certain someone took them out for us.
"There you are. What's going on?" Riku asked,
"Riku!" I exclaimed, running into his arms.
"R, Riku?" Emily asked,
"How? How have you been?" Amy asked,
"I've been fine. It took forever to find you. Dakota, Sora, I'm so happy you're safe. And it seems like you've made some new friends." Riku said,
"Well, let's just say a lot has happened since we've last seen each other. But first, I want you to meet my angels. This is Emily, Amy, Cindy and… Where's Chole?" I asked, seeing she wasn't with us anymore.
"She was here a minute ago. Oh no, did she run off again?" Emily asked,
"Chloe?!" We called out, looking around.
"There she is," Sora said, seeing Chloe hiding behind a corner.
"She's a little shy," Cindy said,
"Hey, come here. I won't hurt you." Riku said, walking up to her and holding out his hand.
"Promise?" Chole asked,
"Of course. Do you remember me? I'm Riku." He said,
"Mmm-hmm. I'm Chole." She said, hugging him.
"My name is Goofy."
"And I'm Donald."
"So, I'm guessing you've been taking of Sora and Dakota. Thank you. It means a lot knowing they weren't alone." Riku said,
"Hey, Riku, where's Kairi?" Sora asked,
"I thought she was with you," Riku replied,
"Oh no. I guess she's still missing. Well, guess we've got to find the king and Kairi." I said,
"What the king? Dakota, what are you talking about?" Riku asked,
"Haha, well, looks like we've got some explaining to do. Sit down. It's a long story." Emily said.
We sat down and explained everything to Riku. What happened to the islands, meeting Donald and Goofy, and the worlds we've been to.
"And then Amy used the sunlight to blind Clayton, while he was blinded. The Stealth Sneak threw him off, and we took them down." I explained,
"That was nothing compared to the three-headed dog we took down. I still can't believe we're only junior heroes after doing that." Emily said,
"Don't worry, Emily, we'll have our chance to be real heroes one day," Sora said,
"I hope so this girl doesn't go halfway," Emily replied,
"Wow, sounds like you guys are on an important mission. I hope you can find the king. I'm sure the others are worried about him." Riku said,
"Oh, the king can take care of himself if anything, we've been looking for you and Kairi," Goofy said,
"You have?" Riku asked,
"Yeah, Sora even crashed the Gummi ship while looking for you. He was really worried," Donald said,
"Hey, I said I was sorry, but it's true. I've been looking everywhere for you, but now that you're here, we can go find Kairi and the king together," Sora said,
"Now hold on one second I never said he could come!" Donald said,
"Why not? He's my best friend. We've wanted to go other worlds together since we were kids," Sora explained,
"I don't care. The king told us to follow the key, and he doesn't have one. Your enough trouble as it is, I don't need anymore." Donald said,
"Now, hold on!" Emily said, pushing Sora away, falling into Riku and me. "We've been to countless worlds looking for this kid, and now you're telling me he can't even come?!" Emily said as we watched this unfold.
"I told you he'll just get in the way. We've got enough on our hands as it is." Donald explained,
"Aw, what do you know?" Emily asked,
"More than you. You big palooka!" Donald replied,
"Why you!?" Emily said, getting ready to fight when they heard Riku laughing.
"Hey, what are you laughing at?" Donald asked,
"Haha, sorry, it's just it's wired seeing two people smaller than me with such big attitudes. I've never seen anyone like it. Of course, Sora would make friends with a group of oddballs like you." Riku explained,
"Oddballs?" Emily and Donald said,
"Well, I guess we are kind of odd," Emily said,
"Yep, just the way we like it. Sorry about Donald. He's always like this. He didn't mean what he said, right Donald?" Sora said with a stern look on his face.
"Wak, oh yeah, I just don't want you getting hurt by the Heartless its dangerous out there. I'm sure you can take care of yourself just fine, but when you're in other world's you need to follow the rules." Donald said,
"That's right, we've got to protect the world order," Goofy explained,
"I understand it's just so new for me. Well, as long as you don't forget about me, then take care of Sora and Dakota for me, I'll find another way to save Kairi." Riku said,
"Forget about you? What gave you an idea like that? I could never replace you. You're my best friend, my big brother." Sora said,
"Riku, did you meet anyone who told you we were replacing you?" Emily asked,
"Yeah, there was, but I didn't believe her Sora would never do that to Kairi or me. I just wanted to make sure." Riku explained,
"Well, at least you didn't buy it. We would never do something so mean." I said,
"I know you wouldn't. I was silly for being so worried. So, I know I can't come with you to other worlds, but that doesn't mean I can't help you out. So, what do you say? Can I join you for the time being?" Riku asked,
"It should be fine. We were about to meet up with our buddies in that old house you can introduce yourself. I'm sure everyone will be happy to meet you." Goofy said,
"Sounds great. You go on ahead. I'll be there in a minute," Riku said,
"Okay, Riku. Don't run off now." I said,
"Don't worry; I won't. Be right back." Riku said as we went our separate ways. We went into the old house and saw Leon and the others.
"Hey, guys, nice place," I said,
"Wow, you really fixed this place up. Last time I was here, it was empty." Emily said,
"Yep, took us a while to fix this place up. But at least it will work as a meeting spot. Hey, have you guys ever hear of Maleficent?" Cid asked,
"Maleficent?! Do you even have to ask? We know her!" Emily shouted,
"You heard of her Emily?" I asked,
"Heard of her. She's the wicked witch of the North, South, East, and West." Chole explained,
"She's horrible," Emily said,
"She's ruthless," Amy said,
"Not only that, she's not even nice!" Chole said,
"If you see her, you'll wish you haven't. She's an evil fairy that uses the power of darkness to her advantage. Cid, is she here?" Emily asked,
"I'm not sure, only heard rumors. But you better be careful from now on. One wrong move, and it could mean your hearts." Cid replied,
"How bad could she be?" Sora asked,
"She's the reason this town has Heartless I heard she's the reason for the world's falling to darkness. She must be after the Keyhole." Leon said,
"This world has a keyhole?" Sora asked,
"Of course, Sora, every world does. We better find Riku and the Keyhole before Maleficent does. I have a bad feeling about this." Emily said,
"Hey, where did Riku say he was going? I thought he would be here by now." Sora said,
"I hope he didn't get lost," Goofy said when we noticed Chloe waving to someone.
"Chole, who are you waving to?" Cindy asked,
"Riku and Maleficent," Chole replied,
"Riku and Maleficent! Uh oh." We said, rushing out of the house.
"You see, it's just as I told you. While you toiled away trying to find your dear friend, he quite simply replaced you with some new companions. Evidently, now he values them far more than he does you." Maleficent explained, trying to trick Riku, but he saw through the lies.
"Hmph, that's what you think," Riku replied,
"You're better off without that wretched- What did you say?" She asked,
"I said that's what you think. Sora didn't abandon me. He's helping out a group of people who need him. Not to mention cleaning up your mess. Jessabelle and Wendy were right. I never should have listened to you if you're looking for a pawn find someone else; I'm through being toyed with." Riku said about walk away.
"Mark my words, boy, you do not want to make an enemy out of me!" Maleficent said, holding up her staff.
"No, and you don't want to make enemy's out of us either," Emily said as we fired our rainbow wands at her.
"Riku, don't listen to her whatever she told you; she's lying," Emily explained,
"Why, if it isn't my old servants. Hello girls, I see you're doing well. Doing well at medaling with my goals." Maleficent snarled,
"You get away from him! I don't know what you told him, but you better leave. No one wants you here, just like the day you weren't invited to Aurora's birthday party." Emily said,
"Too soon, Emily, Too soon," Amy said, remembering how mad Maleficent was.
"Oh, right." She replied,
"Hold on; you guys know each other?" Riku asked,
"Ha, know each other she's the reason we were cursed!" Emily explained,
"She cursed you?!" I exclaimed,
"So, that's the reason you look like that. Wait, does that mean Maleficent is your arch-nemesis?" Sora asked,
"She's more than our arch-nemesis. She'll be yours too. She's the one who commanded the Heartless to capture Alice and the other Princess's of Light." Amy explained,
"So, it really was you; you're the reason so many people have lost their worlds. But if you think you can taint that boy's heart with your darkness, you're wrong. I'm warning you get out of this town or else." Leon said threateningly, holding his sword up.
"You dare to threaten the Mistress of all Things Evil? You'll pay dearly for that. All of you will bow to the power of darkness!" Maleficent exclaimed, firing a dark spell at as. Only for Leon to deflect it.
"Hmph, is that all you've got one measly dark ball? Or maybe you don't want to waste your energy before you gather the ultimate power." Leon suggested,
"Hmm, you're smarter than I thought. You win this round; I have better things to do than waste my energy on you fools. But this isn't the last time you'll hear of me." Maleficent said, disappearing into a corridor of darkness.
"Get back here, you!" Emily said as she and Donald rushed to stop Maleficent from leaving.
"She's gone," I said,
"And good riddance no one wants a hag-like her around here," Sora said,
"Hey, are you guys okay?" Riku asked,
"Yeah, I'm okay. I'm sure we could have taken her on." I said,
"Okay, let's not get cooky. I'm sorry you guys had to deal with that. The truth is, when I left the island, I woke up in this strange world. Maleficent found me shortly after and told me she could help me find you. Some time passed, and she began telling me how Sora made some new friends to replace Kairi and me. At first, I didn't want to believe it, but somehow, I almost did. That's when a Wizard Heartless named Wendy made me realize that my real friends would never do that to me. So, that's how I got here. Maleficent brought me so I could see for myself what's been going on. Now I see she really was lying to me. I'm sorry I ever doubted you, Sora." Riku apologized.
"There's no need to apologize, Riku. You did nothing wrong. I'm glad you didn't take her word for it. I would never abandon you or Kairi. I love you guys. You're like a family to me." Sora explained,
"I know we are; looking back, I don't know why I believed her in the first place. So, I'm guessing helping you is out of the question now since I kind of lied to you all." Riku said,
"Not at all; if anything, we need all the help we can get. Maleficent won't stop till she finds the Keyhole. We need to find it before she does, or else this world will be no more. Do you think you can help us?" Amy asked,
"I would love to. If it means I can make up for nearly betraying, you guys?" Riku asked,
"You don't need to make for anything. I'm just happy to have my best friend back," Sora said,
"But it seems there's something Emily and the others might want to tell us. Isn't that right, girls?" Goofy asked,
"Yeah, there is. Let's head back inside. I think it's time for us to tell you the story about how we became known as the Cursed Heartless Angels." Amy said we went back inside, and they told us everything.
"So, it happened a few years ago. As angels, it's our job to help people learn right from wrong. When people do good things, our powers will get stronger. But if more bad deeds are done than good ones, then our powers will get weaker. One day we noticed that our influence was getting weaker, and it was getting harder for us to help others do good deeds. So, we decided to have a meeting in the Secret Grotto, a place where only angels can go.
It seems we underestimated how weak the seal was becoming because not long after the meeting started. Maleficent ambushed us with the Heartless. She was the one making people go bad with her dark powers. Her goal was to turn us into Heartless and make us her mindless slaves. But what Maleficent didn't realize was that our heats were too pure. An angel's heart can never be tainted by darkness; instead of becoming normal Heartless, we became the form you see now.
Even though her plan failed, she still had a use for us. We were trapped for about six or seven months in an old castle. That's when we found out about Maleficent's goals. She wanted to capture the Seven Princess's and use them to unlock the power of Kingdom Hearts. A powerful entity that is said to hold ultimate power." Amy explained,
"So, how did you escape, and how come you still look like that?" I asked,
"That's because one day, King Mickey found us, and he helped us escaped. We made it back to Heaven, and our curse was broken but years later. King Mickey needed our help again, so we decided to give them a hand. Angels can only withstand a physical form for so long, so we decided to retake the form of Heartless a bad choice, I know, but it was the only form we could take at such short notice." Amy explained,
"So, that's why you're here. You're trying to stop Maleficent before she plunges the worlds into darkness. Right?" I asked,
"Yes and no. We know that Maleficent is responsible for this, but we believe she's working under someone else." Emily added,
"What do you mean working for someone else? I never saw Maleficent to be the type to share her knowledge with someone." Leon said,
"The reason we believe that is because Maleficent was never meant to know about this. It would have caused a disaster. We doubt she manipulated someone into telling because no one other than the good fairies of her world knew about the secret, and if something happened, they would have told us. So, the theory is someone is hiding in that castle and giving her the information willingly." Amy explained,
"Wow, that's a pretty convincing theory," Sora said,
"You're lucky you didn't listen to her Riku something tells me you would have fallen for her trap," I said,
"Looks like it. So, if Maleficent is looking for the Keyhole may I ask where it is?" Riku asked,
"Sorry, I'm afraid we don't know," Cid said,
"We might not know where it is yet, but I have feeling it's connected to the bell in the Second District," Aerith said,
"You mean the one that rang a bit ago?" Sora asked,
"The one above the gizmo shop. There's a legend about it, you know." Yuffie said,
"But's it all boarded up. Nobody can get in there." Aerith said,
"Hey, maybe we can get in there. I'm sure we can get some crowbars or something." Emily said,
"Heck, go check it out. Ring the bell three times and see if something happens." Cid said,
"Well, looks like we're going on a scavenger hunt. Let's go, guys; this will be fun." I said,
"Hold on before you go that navigation gummi's installed and ready to go. You find another one; you bring it to me. I threw in a warp gummi in for the heck of it. Now you can jump to worlds you've been to before." Cid explained,
"Thanks, Cid, that means a lot. Thanks for helping us out." I said,
"No problem, well, I guess I better go back to my real job." He said,
"Real job, I thought you worked at the accessory shop?" Cindy said,
"Oh that, I was just looking after it for the owner. You can find my real job at the First District. I'll see you guys around," Cid said, and he left.
"Well, I guess we better get going. Before Maleficent beats us to it." I said,
"Dakota's right before we do anything, though. We better head back to the First District, we're low on supplies, and something tells me we might need it." Amy said,
"Hey, you're right. If Maleficent is after the Keyhole I bet she's placed a strong Heartless just waiting to get the drop on us." I said,
"That does seem the case in scenarios like these," Emily said,
"If that's the case, we better not waste any more time standing around here," Riku said, and we left.
But little did we know Maleficent was watching and waiting for us to lead her to the Keyhole.
Well, what do you know Riku and Sora made up before the game even ended and now Riku is joining the group on a temporary biases. So yeah like I said Riku believing Maleficent over his own friend without a second thought bothered me so I decided to fix it Riku will still fall to darkness that's a major part of his character develupment that I can't ignore no matter what but it will be handled differently.
Also we got some more back story for Emily and the others it's been one of the main things I've been wanting to explain for a while now. Anyway I hope everyone enjoyed this story I hope I can get another chapter out soon hopefully it won't take months to do.
