Chapter 120

A few days later, Mercedes and Colby arrived home in Moline with Mariah, Derek, and Valerie. Evelyn and Trevor also arrived home with their three kiddos.

"Trevor," Evelyn called to her husband as she was in the kitchen.

"Yeah?" Trevor called back from the living room.

Evelyn walked from the kitchen and into the living room. Trevor sat on the sofa. "What's up, baby?" He asked.

"Can you go to the store for me?" Evelyn asked.

"Sure. What do you need?"

"Milk and a few other things," Evelyn said, sitting down on the sofa next to him.

"Oh, shit," Trevor said. "I had forgotten the milk expired right before we left for Orlando."

"So had I. I opened the fridge was like, 'Shit. We forgot to dump the milk and get another gallon before we left.' I dumped in in the kitchen sink. It was definitely sour."

Trevor chuckled. "Yeah, I can go to the store and get us some milk. What else do we need?"

"I want some fruit! That's why I was going into the fridge. I was seeing what we had. We need more of it, though."

"Just some milk and fruit then?"

"Yes," Evelyn said.

"You got it, baby," Trevor said. He moved over and kissed his wife passionately. "I know you prefer to make me run errands and then stay home with the kids."

"Yep."

Trevor laughed. "I'll go head and go."

"Thank you so much!"

"You're absolutely welcome," Trevor replied, kissing his wife again.

Five minutes later, Trevor was out the door and headed to the store to get some milk and fruit. He never minded running those little errands for his wife.

Evelyn smiled as she went up-stairs to check on her son and daughters. She looked in on Andy and Hannah first. The two were sound asleep. She then went into Sadie's room who was sound asleep as well.

The door bell rang. Evelyn headed down-stairs to the front door. Evelyn didn't think anything of anything. She unlocked the door and opened it up.

"Hello sweetheart," Glenn said.

"What the hell are you doing here?!" Evelyn gasped.

"I'm here to see you and my grandkids."

"I don't want to see you. Get the hell out of here or I will call the cops!"

Evelyn went to slam the door in his face.

"Oh, no, no, sweetheart!" Glenn said, stopping the door from slamming with one hand and then holding a weapon in the other.

Evelyn gasped as she saw him holding a gun. She stayed where she was, not wanting to move.

"Get in the house."

Evelyn backed all the way up into the house. Glenn followed her inside. He never turned away from her. He continued to hold the gun, pointing it at Evelyn. Once inside the house, Glenn closed the front door and locked it.

"Where'd Trevor go?" Glenn asked, having his full attention on Evelyn.

"He just went to the store to get us a few things. It'll be a quick trip, because he is just getting some milk and fruit," Evelyn said.

"Where are your kids?"

"All asleep up-stairs. We all just got home from Orlando today. My brother and his fiancée got married on Saturday."

"Oh, yes, Aaron and Ashley. Ashley being Becky Lynch and Finn Balor's daughter."

"Yes," Evelyn said. She was a little scared. That was why she was answering all his questions. However, she was going to stand her ground.

"Let's go see them. Go up-stairs."

Glenna continued to point the gun at her. Evelyn did a she was told. She walked up the stairs.

Dear God, please help me out of this. Please keep my kids safe.

"Show me Andy and Hannah first," Glenn said once they were up-stairs.

"Right this way," Evelyn said, pointing to a door.

"Open the door."

Evelyn did as she was told. She went over and opened the door. She walked into the room and held the door for Glenn. He took a look in on the twins. He smiled.

God, help me, please!

"Show me Sadie," Glenn said.

"She's just across the hall," Evelyn said.

Glenn smiled. He backed out of the room, not turning away from Evelyn. Evelyn followed him out into the hallway, closing the door to the twins' room behind them.

Mercedes and Colby laughed as Colby pulled their car into Evelyn and Trevor's driveway. The two had said they were going to go home and then go over to Evelyn and Trevor's a little later. The little later was now.

Mercedes took notice of a mysterious car parked in the street right near the front yard to Evelyn and Trevor's house.

"Whose car is that?" Mercedes asked her husband once they were both out of their own vehicle.

Colby looked to where Mercedes pointed. Colby then looked to his wife. Colby took off running to the front door.

"Colby?" Mercedes shouted to her husband.

Colby got to the front door. He quickly tried to open the door. The door was locked. He quickly knocked on it and shouted, "Evie?"

"Who the hell is that?" Glenn said as he pointed the gun at Evelyn.

"Help!" Evelyn shouted.

"Evelyn!" Colby shouted.

"Colby," Mercedes said.

"Shut up," Glenn shouted to Evelyn.

"Help!" Evelyn shouted.

The loud shouting woke the kids up. Sadie was crying having been woken up. Andy and Hannah had no idea what was going on.

"Goddamn it!" Colby shouted as he had his keys in his hand.

"Help!" Evelyn shouted.

"Evelyn!" Mercedes shouted hearing her daughter screaming.

"Mom!" Evelyn shouted.

Colby had been trying to find Evelyn's house key on his keys. "Fuck this!" He quickly ran and jumped on the door. He kept doing it, trying to get the door open.

"Oh, no!" Glenn said as he tried to grab onto Evelyn. Evelyn quickly hit him and ended up knocking him down the stairs.

Colby was able to force the door open. He fell to the ground on the inside of the house was the door was open. He looked up. He saw Glenn at the bottom of the stairs. Glenn was trying to regain himself from the tumble down the stairs.

"Son of a bitch!" Colby said.

Glenn looked to see Colby. He looked around for his gun as Colby was moving toward him. He saw it and grabbed it. There was a loud bang and Colby went down.

"Colby!" Mercedes shouted, seeing her husband fall to the ground.

"Daddy!" Evelyn shouted, seeing her dad fall to the ground from her spot at the top of the stairs.

Mercedes quickly went over to her husband to see if he was okay.

"Hey babe," Glenn said. "Don't worry about him."

Mercedes looked over at Glenn. "Asshole!"

"Yeah, I know I am to you," Glenn said. "But don't worry about him. You have me to worry about."

"Why?" Mercedes asked.

"Because I have a gun and I could do anything. I just did by shooting your husband. But what if I shoot you? I could shoot you and leave your youngest children without their mother and their father."

"Do it then!" Mercedes exclaimed.

"What?" Glenn said.

"Shoot me!" Mercedes exclaimed. She got to her feet. "Do it, Glenn!" Mercedes kept her eyes on him, not going to back down.

Glenn shook his head. He was about to get to his feet. However, Evelyn hit him over the head hard with a picture frame. She had purposely hit him with the glass part over his head. It knocked him out at least for a moment.

Sadie and the twins were still crying and shouting from all the loud noise.

"Take care of the kids," Mercedes said to Evelyn.

Evelyn nodded her head. She ran up-stairs to her kids.

Mercedes quickly went back over to Colby. "Colby," She said.

Colby looked at his wife. He was holding his shoulder.

"He's a crappy shot," Colby said.

Mercedes laughed. The gun shot had only hit Colby in the shoulder. Colby did too.

Colby was able to pull his cell phone from his pocket and give it to Mercedes. Mercedes quickly took it from him and called 9-1-1.

Evelyn grabbed Sadie first of her kids. She then quickly went into Andy and Hannah. She held her baby girl in her arms and tried to calm all her children at the same time. Evelyn eventually heard the sound of sirens.
