Chapter 125

A few months in later, it was January and time for Glenn's trial. Mercedes and Evelyn were both nervous, because they were to testify. Colby would testify too, but he was in no way nervous. He had wanted for years to meet up with Glenn and get him to justice in some way.

A lot of family and/or friends would be at the trial in support of everyone. All the kids minus Mariah, Valerie and Derek would be there. Trevor would be there, of course. Aaron with Ashley and Katianna with Nate. Then Pam, Becky, and Ashley would there to support Mercedes. Her three best friends, Angela, Emily and Vickie would be there too. Joe, Jon, and Kevin would there for Colby. Brandon, Colby's brother and Nick (Brave) would be. But most of all, Paul Levesque and Stephanie McMahon would be there too.

Mercedes would be the first to testify, because the court wanted her history with Glenn. Mercedes would have to start from the very beginning. The very beginning yet again she had told countless times over the years. The very beginning of meeting Glenn and explaining her rape to everyone once again.

"Mrs. Lopez, how is it you know the defendant?" The ADA asked.

"I met him back in Boston at a bar in September of 2016," Mercedes replied.

"Did a 'romantic relationship' develop from this?"

"No, it didn't. Glenn and I talked that evening as I was with my friends. My friends said they wanted to leave, but Glenna said he'd walked me home. We thought of him as a gentleman."

"There wasn't a romantic relationship from this then?"

"No."

"Tell the court what happened then?"

Mercedes nodded her head. Mercedes, you have said this part many times over the years! Do it again and get justice for good!

"Glenn walked me home. But as we were walking, I stumbled a little over my feet and the high heels I was wearing. Glenn and I were nearby at an alleyway. He ended up pushing me into the alley…"

Evelyn sat and listened to her mother's attack. An attack that she was a result of. Trevor and Colby noticed Evelyn tense up. Trevor took his wife's hand and held it. Colby patted her lightly on her knee. Evelyn looked at her dad.

"Its okay, baby," He whispered.

Evelyn nodded her head.

Mercedes did her testimony with the ADA. She then had to do it with Glenn's attorney and he grilled her.

"Mrs. Lopez, how come you didn't report your allegedly claimed rape by my client to you?" Glenn's attorney asked.

Mercedes stood her ground, though. It didn't get to her quite yet.

"Like so many other rape survivors, I felt ashamed and I blamed myself for it."

"Well, you had been drinking. Maybe you did want it!"

"Who wants to have sex in an alley?!" Mercedes snapped. "Not me! Not then! Not now! Not ever!"

Colby smiled. He was proud of that from his wife.

"You claim you were "raped" in an alley," Glenn's attorney countered. "How do we know my client didn't just go back to your apartment with you and you two have sex then?"

"OBJECTION!" The ADA quickly exclaimed.

"Overruled," The judge said. "Please answer the question, Mrs. Lopez."

"I would never, ever, lie about being raped! I haven't!" Mercedes exclaimed as she began to cry. "I would have admitted to have had a one night stand with him!" She pointed to Glenn. "Because if I would have wanted it, I would have said so. And it was six weeks before I found out I was pregnant with my daughter. If I had had a one night stand, I would have contacted him to let him know about the pregnancy. I did not cry rape after I was pregnant! I said rape before I knew I was pregnant!"

Mercedes was in tears.

The judge could see Mercedes wasn't lying about her rape. Having been an attorney for years and now a judge for a few more years, HE saw true reaction.

"No further questions your honor," Glenn's attorney said. He had had what he wanted: an answer to the question.

The judge called for a ten-minute recess.

The trial went on for a few days. Evelyn and Colby gave their testimonies. While Mercedes gave a little bit more to hers as well.

Glenn ended up being found guilty of his crimes—shooting Colby, his threat to Evelyn with the gun, and wanting to shoot Mercedes—being sentenced to life in prison.

Everyone was so happy when was sentenced.

The whole gang of the WWE friends/family and other friends and family who had been at trial in support, celebrated with Mercedes, Colby, and Evelyn.

"I learned that everything happens for a reason," Colby said.

"And I have always believed everything happens for a reason," Mercedes said. "Colby and I together learned the bad comes with the good."

"Bad was Mercedes being raped. But the good was us getting together. Because I was what Mercedes needed and She was exactly what I needed."

"The bad was being raped. But the good was a beautiful daughter born. One of the many lights of my life! I love you so much, Evelyn!"

"I love you too, Mommy!" Evelyn exclaimed. "I learned from the best to a mom!"

"Yes, you did!" Trevor added.

"Another thing that was bad was this whole thing with Glenn," Mercedes continued. "But the good was that asshole is in jail once again!'

"Yes, everything that has happened to us, the good and the bad, has been a life changer," Colby said.

"Here's to family and friends!"

Everyone toasted.
