Chapter 11: New faces around the school.
Dear, god, this whole chapter's layout and next chapter's battle sequences are a royal pain in the ass. It took me wayyy too long to get it done right. Writer blocks be damned like that these days.
Still, there's no excuse for the long delay, I can only hope to do better as I continue this story.

"Let's show the world what Goombas are capable of! For Lord Bowser!"
- Captain Goomba. The most loyal Goomba in the Bowser Kingdom
The sun slowly descended below the horizontal line, signing the beginning of the night for the day. In Beacon Academy, the student initiation exam has come to the end, and now, it's time to announce the result to the new generation of warriors.
After getting their much-needed rest in the afternoon, the applicant students were gathered to the Amphitheater, where they'll receive their score from the headmaster himself, whether they're truly worthy of the burden of being a huntsman. And some senior year students were there to attend the ceremony too.
The team made of colorful individuals had once again gathered together. Currently waiting for their turns. They were having a rather hard time accepting the reality, they're finally here, at their first step to work toward being a true Huntsman & Huntress, everything just seems so surreal.
Standing on the stage, Headmaster Ozpin is announcing the beginning of the team that will be known as JNPR, led by none other than Jaune Arc himself.
After a few seconds to register the info and snap his neck forth and back between Pyrrha & Ozpin, Jaune snapped back to reality. "Hu-huh?" The dorky knight clearly was not expecting himself to be elected to the leadership position of the team. "Led by...?"
Seeing his reaction, an all-knowing yet amused smile formed on Ozpin's face. "Congratulations, young man."
Seeing her future leader having a hard time registering reality, Pyrrha gave her leader a playful shoulder bump.
Only to have Jaune land on his butt on the floor, the young man still hasn't compromised the situation. "Me?" His stunning reaction earns a round of playful laughter from the audience.
After dismissing the new team and having them move down the stages, Ruby, Weiss, Blake, and Yang were summoned up to the stages, where Ozpin announced their team name as RWBY, led by none other than Ruby Rose herself.
Weiss looked shocked by the reveal and immediately snapped her head to her right in surprise, where Ruby is obviously in the same shock as Yang goes over to hug her sister in much joy. "Ohhhh, I'm SO proud of you!"
Everything went as he planned. Looking at the young girl despite she's in a state of shock, hiding his thoughts, Ozpin gave Ruby his congratulations.
After dismissing the team, Ozpin turns around to face the crowd, clearing his throat for everyone's attention. "Students, before we end this ceremony, I have two final announcements to deliver, one regarding a certain rumor, and another regarding a special announcement." Hearing his words, everyone quiets down.
"First, I would like to talk about the special announcement, we had two more teams in our addition. I would like to announce Team BLMI (Blumine) & Team LLRW (Lythrum)"
As he announced the name, 8 Faunus walked up the stage, earning a confused look from everyone.
The hologram in the room displayed the 8 newcomer's portraits as well as their team's names.
The first one that walks up the stage is a Faunus kid that seems to be even younger than Ruby herself, which earns a puzzled look from Weiss. Another kid that got accepted into Beacon earlier?
Following behind the kid, the other 7 characters have a diverse range of looks. A rainbow-mohawk jester boy balancing on a bouncing ball; A punk boy with gray star paint on his face; A crazily pineapple-shaped green hair boy dressed like a mad scientist; A rich-attire-looking boy with wing-shaped blue hair; A blue-cockscomb boy dressed in sports attire; A giant sunglass-wearing boy dressed in a mixture between punk & military uniform; And lastly, A long hair blonde girl wearing a pink dotty bow on top of her head like a certain Faunus.
Immediately, voices of gossiping discussion occurred among the crowd, curious & puzzled by the sudden appearance of the newcomers.
One by one, Ozpin listed the names of the Koopas on stage. "Bowser Jr. Koopa, Lemmy Koopa, Morton Koopa Jr., Iggy Koopa of Team BLMI, and Ludwing Koopa, Larry Koopa, Roy Koopa, Wendy O. Koopa of Team LLRW."
Immediately the none-following-color-rules-names raised many gossiping murmurs, the tails behind them identifying them as Faunus, the spike shell on their back raised a weird look, and most importantly, the same family name they all shared for some reason.
Ignoring the confused reaction, Ozpin continues. "I'm aware some senior students that watched today's monitoring may notice that these 8 were not shown in any part of the monitoring during the initiation, the reason for that is that these 8 were taking a different course of the exam at a different part of the Emerald Forest." Gesturing to the family of Koopas, Ozpin answered. "Students, may I introduce you, the Koopa family, this year's extra batch of teams enlist under Beacon's special application program, unlike most of you who applied to Primary Combat School before coming here, these 8 were not that fortunate to have such luxury in their life, instead their skill was forged through the experience on the real field outside the Kingdom. It was under multiple recommendations by many Huntsmen that Beacon decided to enroll them into the academy."
Hearing this, the audience nodded their head, seeming to accept the explanation their headmaster is giving, although some still find some odds about the 8, mainly the none-color-rule names and the same Faunus species and family name they shared.
Seemingly knowing what his students must be thinking, Ozpin addresses the matter. "I know some of you must be curious about what exam they take, it was the same test as many of you have undergone today, but with a slight change. Instead of retrieving certain objects and returning to the school, they were tasked to retrieve certain objects from our professional Huntsman teacher's possession and return to the school."
Hearing this, the volume of gossip increased. So they've taken on real huntsman professors to pass the entrance exam? Just who are these 8?
Seeing the need for orders, Goomboss growls. "Quiet." Immediately after the word left his mouth. the room quiets down. His imposing attitude made his order just as efficient as a certain telekinesis witch. With said witch nod in approval of how well the Goomba monarch is handling the discipline.
Giving his new employee a nod of appreciation, Ozpin carries on. "While I'm sure there must be many questions you have for our new teams, I prefer if we could end all these stage talks quickly so you may move into your dorms and get some rest." His words earn him a round of nods from the audience, as everyone no doubt wants this to be over with. Which worked just in Ozpin's favor as he secretly hoped, directing the topic away.
After getting the new teams off stage, Ozpin motioned the stand-by henchmen on stage.
"I'm very aware of the recent gossip regarding the gentlemen that are standing behind me, as I'm very confident that many of you have already seen them on the school grounds today or in the past few weeks. allow me to properly introduce you to the newest member of the Beacon Staff." Ozpin speaks as he gestures to the 5 henchmen.
Stepping forward first, King Bob-omb introduced himself. "My name is Onix Bomu, but I prefer to go by Bob-omb at work, I'm a bomb and explosive expert. It is our pleasure to work in the prestigious Beacon Academy for Huntsman. I hope our time here can help you achieve your full potential." Many raised their eyebrows at his profession, the title of explosive expert certainly getting the attention of a certain energized ginger head.
Next, the Goomba king comes forward. "The name is Broun Kuri, I go by Goomboss at work too, I'm a combat and physic-training expert." Not much reaction was raised from his introduction, but combat and physic training get the attention from the likes like a certain blonde bombshell brawler.
The towering bull knight is the next, bowing politely as he introduces himself. "This one is named Obsidia Donku, this one is nicknamed by many as Big Bully." His weird way of self-referring, his weird last name, as well as his preferred nickname, earned raised eyebrows from the audience. Who calls themselves bully?
Then comes the Ghastly ghost king, who cackles in his trademark laugh as he takes out a mic from nowhere, and floats in the air, taking the spotlight of the whole room. "Alright, the name is Bloo Teresa, but you kids can just call me King Boo!" He then jerks a thumb at the last person. "And this guy here is Petey Venus, but calling him Petey is okay, come on, say hello to the crowd." He then turns his mic to Petey.
"GALEGAR! GARBOBARK!" (Hello! Everyone!) Spokes Petey happily as he waves his hands.
You probably could imagine, save for those that know or are aware of his situation, the whole room quieted down as everyone was staring blankly at the mascot-dressing man spouting unintelligible gibberish noise from his mouth.
"Yeah, yeah, I know what you're thinking, poor guy here has a really special illness, which prevents him from talking normally, so any time he is speaking, if any of us four happens to be around, we'll be providing translation. Just don't expect us to be 100% correct."
Despite the flabbergasted look from the audience, Ozpin takes the stage again, really not giving everyone time to process, a faint smug smile curling at the edge of his lips. "Ahem, thank you, Mr. Teresa. That sums up the introduction to our new friends, but that isn't what this second announcement is for. Tomorrow, these 5 gentlemen will be taking the professor initiation, while I'm aware tomorrow is the first day of the semester, I've decided to put every class schedule on a hold, tomorrow will be a break day, you're free to come and watch our new staff member's initiation, or you may use the free day as you see fit. That concludes the ceremony, first-year students may now gather your luggage and move into the dorms, dismiss."
Hearing the keywords, everyone slowly starts moving out of the Amphitheater, some take a few more glares toward the extra teams & the new staff, before moving back to their own business.
As Ozpin leaves the hall and returns to his tower, one Ludwig watches his silhouette with various thoughts. Considering that we did just beat up his employees, I don't think any of them are in any shape to be able to teach for tomorrow's class, so I guess he's using the break as a disguise. A smart move. Moving his thought to a more pressing matter. And since we have been forcing hands. I wonder what he's going to do next. What course our minions are going to take is beyond our control, but they'll play their part accordingly and thoroughly, we're here to blend in among this society, them taking on the identity of huntsman is probably for the best. Ludwig then turns his attention to the henchmen that are following behind Ozpin, no doubt they're heading to his office to discuss the details of tomorrow's event.
Sighing, Ludwig made a silent prayer to the stars among Remnant's sky. Hopefully, there won't be any more accidents tomorrow.
"Alright, everyone, let's not waste any time, let's move into our dorm." He turns around to face his family.
"Dibs on the softest mattress for the royal prince!" Called Bowser Junior as he ran towards the sleeping quarters, leaving his teammates in the dust.
"Bahaha! I'll take the second-best bed then!"
"Hey! Not fair."
"MORTON WANTS TWO PILLOWS"
Shaking his head at their family's usual antics, Ludwig shot his own team a "don't you start that with me right now" look.
"Eh, dibs on the first to use the shower every day." Shrugged Wendy.
"Just don't use up all the hot water, glutton." Huffed Roy.
Which Wendy brushes him off. "I made no promise."
Rolling his eyes despite an amused smile curling on his face, Ludwig motions his team to follow behind, the Koopalings & Koopa Prince making their way to their new residential area for the foreseeable future.
- Around the same time, on the other side of Remnant, at Evernight Castle -
In the ever sinister castle, inside an elegant yet dreadful meeting room, several figures were seated around a long table.
"Interesting… to think that there would be more people from your world showing up on our world, on Ozpin's side no less. How... particular." Sitting at her personal throne, Salem listens to the report from one particular jester of chaos, who was standing on the table as if it was his own stage, retelling his encounter of the morning. And so far, she was not fond of this inconvenient and troublesome news, she certainly was not pleased with this development. Yet the idea and wonders of other magic wilder intrigued her curiosity.
Besides, the situation was still in control, the favor was still on her side.
"Isn't it just fantastic? Imagine the chaos we could bring onto this plant. A little Bob-omb here and there to spice up things, letting the Piranha Plant infest over the whole land like a virus. OR~" Exclaim excitedly, Dimentio shot both arms up in exhilaration. "Let's start the whole Chaos Heart doomsday all over again on this planet! Let's erase this universe and create a new one!"
Seating around the table, evildoers from Mushroom World all over the ages listen to the jester's suggestion with various reactions.
A king of ghosts, a Beanish Witch, a Beanish mad scientist, the Lord of Nightmare, a warlord of weapons, the literal remains of a fallen-angel turned gigantic devil ice dragon, and lastly…
The being made of pure darkness, in the shape of a sphere. Accompanied by the mortals made of three humans & one Faunus, who follow the Grimm Queen.
In her seat, Cinder bites the inner of her lips nervously, these late developments of life aren't how it is supposed to be, the whole point of Salem's strategy is her important role in breaking down Vale's defense line bit by bit slowly, and then have everything fall apart at the climax of Vytal Festival, then obtain the rest of Fall Maiden power, kill Ozpin, obtain the Relics, repeat the process on the rest three kingdom. This was supposed to be her stage, her greatness, her destiny. These outsiders shouldn't be any part of the plan, especially since none of them holds any interest in their plan in the first place to begin with.
Carefully glancing at the Goliaths in the room, Cinder noticed they either smile from ear to ear at the jester's plan, or having a look of unreadable emotionless stare, or just downright not paying any attention.
"Eeeyah ha ha ha ha! Ohh~ what an ambitious idea! Destroy this old world, and then replace it with a new better one! Just like throwing away a no-good, worn-out, annoying cranky chair! The great Cackletta approve!" Seating in a literal hovering rocking chair, one evil Beanish witch, Grinning from ear to ear as she flashes her shark-like teeth, Cackletta cackled in delight at the thought of destruction over mass popularity in the name of terrorizing. One that is better than being the superstar! A SuperNova!
"I have fury! And chortles! Fawful would like to suggest a plan of family drama! By brainwashing the foolish fools of the hunters with Fawful's spray of delicious wickedness! We will have the fools tearing each other apart in no time! And we shall watch their demise while savoring some buttery popcorn of victory!" Sitting beside Cackletta on a green floating platform, the mad Benish scientist, Fawful, Grinning his teeth bare to the gum as he relishes his plan of brainwashing. While this is no Mushroom Kingdom, Fawful can work with this, and besides, the magnificent Dark Star is here. All he needed to do was politely borrow its power, and then worked on creating fury, many much furies.
"..." Sitting in his chair, the self-centered ghost king, King Boo sharpens his nails as he pays the conversation with no interest. Completely bored and unconcerned.
Hanging upside down on the ceiling above the table, in his bat form, the Lord of Nightmares, Antasma, huffs as he suggests his better plans. "SCREEEK! Vhy vasting efforts on needless things like those, ve should'fe engulfed the vorld in an endless nightmare, to shroud the whole vorld in fear and sufver. Vat sounds like a much vetter idea." If there are Grimms that could make people lose their will to fight, then Antasma would like to create a Grimm that puts people in nightmares, and then fest on their fear as he pleased.
"Nightmare? How unoriginal... The real way of conquering the world is taking over with weapons, and then filling the world with weapons, endless weapons, an ideal world with Machines and War!" The next individual speaks his mind, his voice cold & metallic, devoid of any emotion, like an old worn recorder, with no resemblance to an organic flesh's warmth.
In his seat, the weaponsmith of war & conquering, Smithy, snorted as he hit the floor with his giant sledgehammer. Now bare the shape and look of a human-kind, but retain his cold mechanical appearance, his body, the complex craftsmanship that took the shape of the human inner structures that could rival even Atlas's best creation, yet, his lifeless glowing red animatronic eyeballs, the hollow eye stocks that have no eyelids, a mouth filled with razor-sharp teeth, and the white beard, eyebrows, and hairs that were made with bent, cold, sharp metals, making his appearance the second most unsettling one other than the Grimm Queen herself.
"Brrrrooo ha ha ha ha ha… How amusing, to think the mortal realm would bear so many interesting individuals, and each just as ambitious as the other. My my, I certainly have been missing some good things." His rattling voice echoed in the whole room, the sheer malice carried through his words made the atmosphere of the room drop dead, as well as sent an invading chill that forcefully crawled down the spine of the 4 mortals that were accompanying them. "May I give my honest thought? Why not go a step further? Why don't we just play god? It's not like there are any actual ones to stop us, I would know." Casting his shadow over the room, the gigantic remains of a skeleton-dragon rested inside a golden wheeled cannon, his skinny ice-blue frame rattles as he raised his head up, black eye stocks that were devoid of any lights, the moving tiny red glow with white rings being the only thing that resembles the word 'alive' on him, despite the lack of proper organic, the faint breath created from his jaw caused a small breeze to blow toward the creatures below him.
Flapping the bone remains of angelic wings on his back, the Lord of the Undead, the devil of the sheer cold, Bonechill, pressured the atmosphere to the frozen with his overwhelming presence.
"..." And finally, the only being in the room that so far has made no reaction of any sort as the meeting goes, and also the thin responses for the existence of their unwanted guest. The star that harbors darkness has been floating beside the Grimm Queen's side with no reaction nor movement. Its glowing red eyes just continuously stare at everything without any response.
Usually, the meeting with Salem the Grimm Queen would involve just Cinder, Watts, Hazel, Tyrian, and maybe that pathetic Lionhearts if his usefulness is required, but today, not only were these outsiders bargaining in the meeting like they own the place and rights. They had the audacity to declare their selfish desire of conquering Remnant for their own above the queen's vision.
Moving her view toward the other work colleagues, Tyrian apparently was commanding every ounce of his will on maintaining a friendly face due to the will of Salem, that they should not upset or provoke their special guest unless she deemed it.
Of course, you would feel like barking. Rolling her eyes under her stoic look, Cinder moves her gaze to Watts, who was trying to keep a straight face despite the pressure of nervous and fear, the slightly tumbling movement on his hands was a shred of convincing evidence, no wonder, seating across him was the duo of green-skinned freak who apparently lost their damn mind long long ago.
Too bad I don't feel sorry for you. Then comes Hazel, the man who was seated in his chair with his arms crossed as always, but Cinder knows better, the eyes of his show a glint of uncertainty and wariness, a state of mind she can very well relate to. These people, whatever they really are, whatever they do or say… are not to be trusted blindly.
"Well..." A single word from Salem herself cut through the conversation into silence. "Now that we know there's a presence of obstacles, obstacles that could become potential threats to our goal..." She then fixed her gaze on Dimentio. "Tell me, Jester... what would you do?"
An eerie smile that appeared on the jester's mask was a reply Cinder was not looking for. "I'm so glad you ask, my queen… the answer is quite simple…"
- Time Skip -
- The next day, ten minutes just before the teacher initiation begins, at Beacon Academy. -
The Huntsman-in-training had found themselves in the amphitheater again, to witness the rare occasion that is known as Beacon Staff Initiation. And unlike yesterday, where students that have an interest could drop by to observe the event, today the seat of the amphitheater is almost full because all year's students were gathered together, even the current staff member was present.
Seeing the number of viewers at present, Ruby Rose shifts nervously in her seat by the overwhelming number of people around her. "So many people..."
"Looks like everyone at the school is here." Eyeing around, Yang Xiao-Long noticed the staff members were gathered at one corner of the hall. And funny enough, three teachers were covered with bandages or bruises.
Meanwhile, Weiss Schnee was crossing her arms with much irritation, their brief encounter yesterday at the cafeteria with the new staff has left her with a bad first impression, mainly on a certain ghostly-white man, whose attitude and behavior screaming of a man-child with no sense of professionalism, and the absent mind attitude Petey is displaying is certainly not helping (Supposedly his unique power absorption Semblance may be why he got in). How were they accepted into the Beacon staff was a question beyond her answer.
But, as a soon-to-be professional Huntress & future CEO of the SDC, she's willing to give her own benefit of the doubt, after evaluating these supposedly future teachers' performance that is. After all, skill is something you can't fake.
Opposite to the heiress' irritation, Blake Belladonna was observing the camera feed with much curiosity and wariness. Their life & death encounter yesterday had left a mystery that centered around their future teacher, a mystery that as a dedicated story reader such as herself feels the need and urge to get to the bottom and know the answer, that something isn't right about them, the never seen before plant Grimm, and the similar appearance between the creature and Petey's costume wear, it's too much of a coincidence to her.
Seating beside Team RWBY, Team JNPR was taking the whole event at their own pace, Jaune Arc is still trying to wrap his mind on being elected to the role of leader, Pyrrha Nikos was interested to see the skill of the new teachers, Nora Valkyrie was throwing a lot of guessing on what power their new teacher might have, and Lie Ren was there to keep Nora from going over-excited.
The specially enlisted Team BLMI & LLRW, happens to be seated right in front of Team RWBY & JNPR.
Seating in the first row in front of the monitor because a certain Koopa Prince demands the best seat for the show, the Koopalings can't help but eavesdrop on the murmur from the other students.
"So much about staying a low profile." Seating beside Ludwig, Roy grumbled in annoyance as he rolled his eyes behind his sunglasses.
"Such can't be helped, knowing people like Ozpin, he mostly is using this as a chance to test our capability." Answered the brains of the Koopaling. "But it comes with the benefit, he saw value in us, and he mostly wants to keep us close within his watch. Which means we don't have to worry about him trying anything funny." For the time being, that is. "Besides, we have a more pressing problem."
The report from last night leaves Ludwig with a much sour mood that lingers to the present, some sort of jester that wields magic, and somehow possessed Piranha Plant seeds were here on this different world like them, something definitely was not right here. Yet there's not much they can do at the moment, for now, they'll just watch the initiation unfold.
'Looks like my visit to the bouncer had to happen sooner.'
- Inside the Bullhead where the henchmen are currently onboard -
According to Headmaster Ozpin, their objective of the day was simple. Retrieve an object from the location Ozpin chose and prepare for them in the Emerald Forest, and they'll destroy any Grimm they come across on the way. Although Ozpin specifically told them what the thing they're going to collect looks like, a suitcase, bring the thing, and get it back to Beacon. Failing to do so or getting the object damaged will result in failure.
Oddly, Ozpin promises them he'll explain everything once the initiation is over, and any question they have will be answered.
Supposedly, this is their best chance of learning every secret, and the henchmen had no reason to turn down the offer.
"Alright! Gentlemen, we're approaching your destination, get ready for your entrance." The pilot of the aircraft called, and notified the henchmen that their time had arrived.
Sparing a glance at each other, the henchmen get up from their seats and head to the opening hanger. Time to get the show started.
- Down below, at the Emerald Forest. -
It was a rather peaceful day for the lush green forest, if, you can ignore the ever-looming threatening beast of darkness that wandered in the shadows, that is. Everything was as normal as the wild nature always has been on Remnant. Here we can see a pack of Beowolves, doing their patrol.
Until 3 objects crashed into the forest, causing loud booming noise, widespread tremors, as well as stormed up a dust cloud.
When the dust settled down, the pack of Beowolves was laying on the ground, dead and disintegrating.
- Back at Beacon -
Everyone at the Amphitheater watched the camera feed with a gaping jaw, saved for a certain group of Koopas, their future professor just jumped off from the aircraft when it was still in the high air.
In his seat, Ludwig sighs as he comes to a conclusion. 'Yep, we're definitely not keeping a low profile after this.'
- Back with the Loyal Henchmen -
Standing up while dusting himself, King Bob-Omb mused in satisfaction. "It would seem that this old bomb still got the touch." Rule 3 of Boss Minions: Jumping into the battle ring to show your imposing dominance. (It certainly would be excellent if you can manage to squish your opponent in doing so.)
Stretching his limbs, Goomboss asked. "Seriously, when was the last time you took part in his Royal Highness's operation?"
"Hmmm, since the Paper world jamming accident. So definitely been a while. Although I was invited to play the latest Golf Tournament." Says the monarch bomb as he stroke his mustache while recalling his memory.
Now thinking back, Goomboss recalls the last time he ever got physically involved. "Last time I was invited was the 5th Kart tournament. Since then I was instructed to stationary the Goomba Border." Replied the Goomba king.
"This one had been stationary in Lava Lava Land ever since the second Operation Castle House Arrest version Mark 64 Deluxe S." Says the Bully knight.
"Not that I'm bragging, but you two need to step up your game and actively seek opportunities, I mean, look at us." Calling from the sky as he descended down, King Boo tested his fellow Boss comrade. Bringing up his fingers, King Boo counts. "Let's see, Kart tournament, Golf tournament, Party games, Baseball game, heck, I was part of the Olympics game event, both main & winter. You two are pretty much lost and forgotten by lots."
Descending carefully as he flapped his leaves arms, Petey supported Boo's claim. "GLAKAR BARBOKA." (What he said.)
Grumbling under his breath because the annoying younger generation is corrected, Goomboss shifts the focus back to the task at hand. "Tsk, Whatever, we got a mission to finish. Everyone, move out!" Unshelt their weapons, the team made of Boss Minions automatically forms a team formation, and advances to the deeper part of the forest.
Not long after they start moving, Grimms of any kind start popping up to assault them, a group of Beowolves and Ursas shows up in front of their path, growling eagerly at the 5 mortals.
Rush first to greet their enemy, Big Bully brace himself as he slammed headfirst into the group of Ursa, while Goomboss followed behind with his club swing forward to strike the Beowolves.
Behind the two brawlers, King Bob-omb & Petey take out their respective does of Dust blends, a raw thunder Dust crystal for our Piranha mutant's appetite, and a drop of orange Dust pill in the bomb monarch's case. While their irregular ghost friend is already nowhere to be seen.
Back in Beacon, everyone watched their action full of curiosity and anticipation.
"It would seem that those two are the brawlers of the team." Watching their action carefully, Pyrrha already had a good reading based on the body language the two frontline fighters are showing. "Mr. Kuri & Mr. Donku both seem really confident with their raw strength, and in Mr. Donku's case, he wields his own body as a weapon." As she commented, Bully was smashing his shoulder into an Ursa's face, sending the bear Grimm falling on its back.
"Yeah, no kidding, and he was doing all these while wearing that armor." Yang mused as she put her hand to her chin, trying to imagine the weights the armor holds. "Not gonna lie, normally, most people will choose mobility over defense, but to see somebody actually going full defenses and then turning it into offense is kinda wild."
"He must have an outstanding stamina or a strength-based Semblance to do so." Praised by Wiess, the imposing figure of the Bull Knight reminds her of the giant Arma Gigas the SDC created in the image of her late grandfather's armor, her own experience gave her an early answer to how powerful this man is.
Meanwhile, Ruby & Jaune watched both brawlers' actions with much excitement & awe.
Seeing the other member taking something to their mouth, Blake comments. "What are those two doing?" Following Blake's point, they saw King Bob-omb & Petey take something to their mouth, after consuming the mysterious substance. Both's appearances suddenly had a new layer of effect appear on them.
In Petey's case, his body changed color again, the red head of his costume changing to yellow, and the flower petals changing to white with a light-yellow rim. With electric crackling around the edge of the flower petal.
In King Bob-omb's case, his appearance remains the same, but his eyes now turn orange, and small tiny orange balls are forming in his palm.
Watching the newfound ability, Weiss theories. "It would seem that both of them had a Semblance allowing them to directly convert Dust's element into their body and use." She then narrowed her eyes at Petey's recolor custom with many wonders and curiosity. "But to change the appearance's color, that is a first if I have ever seen."
Nora, who already took a liking on Petey & the self-claimed bomb expert Bob-omb, bounced in her seat in excitement at their upcoming display of power.
Playing music: Boss Battle! (Bowser's Minions) - Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions
With their newfound power in hand, Petey zaps forward to join the battle, his own speed multiplied by several thanks to the wild energy, while Bob-omb stays behind preparing his attack.
Dripping his finger with his saliva, King Bob-omb calmly takes his time and holds his finger up to meet the air, one side immediately picking up the coldness, indicating which direction the winds are currently blowing. Dropping his freshly made tiny balls near his feet, he adjusts his stance, his double function Walking & Golf cane now on course with the first drop. "Alright, let's start with a good tee-off." The golf-loving monarch smirked, slightly twisting his waist, hands gripped firmly on his cane and slowly raising, his eye locked on his target destination.
With a mighty and clean swing, Bob-omb yelled. "Fire in the hole!" The tiny ball shot toward a Beowolf's face.
Fast approaching, the ball flew into the Grimm's mouth in a gulp, followed by a confused yelp, a few seconds later, the Grimm's body exploded, blasting its body to smithereens.
The sudden demise of its kin stunned the other Grimm nearby, in which they soon joined their dead comrade in oblivion when other small balls fell near their feet.
On a hitting spree, King Bob-omb sent his explosive golf balls toward any Grimm that's in his vision's view.
Back in Beacon, everyone save for a certain group of Koopas watched King Bob-omb's action with a blown mind.
"Whaaaa….?" Trailing off as her brain tries to process the info she just absorbed, Weiss finds herself having a hard time making sense of the scene she's witnessing with her peer.
"He really wasn't lying when he said he's an explosive expert." Commented by an equally confused Yang, who's trying to make sense of the action Mr. Bomu is doing. He's… hitting those balls away toward the Grimm, and then those balls exploded, and he's looking like he's having… fun?
"Ren! Did you see that! Did you see THAT! That looks FUN!" Nora, in her ecstatic, was shaking poor Ren by the shoulder, her mind fixed glued on being best buddy buddies with their new professor.
Everyone holds different thoughts toward the strange and never seen method of action the man was showing, some find it quirky, some find it charming with style. But most were confused by the fact of never seeing action before.
His unorthodox way of fighting certainly had everyone's attention on him, the man who's supposed to be the reasoning mind of the group, yet here he is, with an apparently strange quirk & behaves just like his comrades.
In the Beacon Staff's seats, Oobleck observed the repeatedly swinging action Bob-omb is doing. "Interesting, that looks like a form of fixed action, must be something of a cultural behavior, possibly from an exercise or entertainment kind of sport." He'll ask them about this once the initiation is over.
"So that's why it was designed like that." Commented by Harold Mulberry, who helped craft the Henchmen's weapon after receiving the blueprint.
"Color me impressed, that certainly is one way of dealing with Grimm. They're totally killing it." Said a surprised Port.
"More like destroying them." Replied an unsettling Goodwitch, a bit disturbed by how easy they're making it look.
"..." As for the headmaster, Ozpin said nothing as he watched the whole thing intensely, seemingly waiting for something to happen.
Despite everything, one thing is for certain, one thought appears in almost everyone's mind except a certain bubbly ginger-head, a mind-occupied headmaster, and a certain Koopa family.
'Not a single one of them is normal.'
In their seat, the Koopa Royalties watched the performance of the henchmen with their own evaluations.
"Huh, that's a neat way to keep his bomb summoning magic." Commented an impressed Roy.
"As long as he doesn't try to self-destruct, I don't think there's any problem we need to worry about." Sighed Ludwig.
"Knowing our luck in operations, I doubt it." Replied Larry, knowing how many times their operations or plans end up being ruined by Mario, or some sort of bad luck occurring.
Back on the battlefield, the henchmen were cleaning house with their sweet time. The beast of darkness possessed little to no threat to them.
"Slice! Dice! Slice & Dice! Haaaa Hahahahaha!" Swinging his halberd like a scythe, King Boo cackled in delight as he enjoyed his damn life as he reaped these Grimm's to the actual Grim.
"GLAK!" (Goal!) Kicking a Boarbtusk like a football, concentrating electric energy to the end of his feet, Petey Piranha transferred the shocking energy, and sent the orb boar to the group of Beowolves, knocking them down like bowling pins, with the electric energy discharged upon impact. Taking down the whole pack.
Grabbing a Beowlof like a club, Big Bully had once again shown himself to be a force of unstoppable. Smashing a Grimm with another Grimm.
An Alpha Beowolf sneaks up on King Bob-omb, swipes its claws down on the Bomb man, only to have its arm gripped tightly by the man before it could reach his head, catching the Alpha by surprise, the small human somehow has more strength over itself. "Hump, futile struggle." Huffs the Bomb monarch calmly.
Then, without any second word, the old man tosses the Alpha Grimm who's twice his size over his shoulder effortlessly. "Goomb! Pitch!"
Hearing his call, the Goomba King turned and saw the Grimm flying toward him, grinning, he swung his club with his might, hitting the beast and sending it flying toward the sky.
With the beast getting smaller and smaller as it ascended toward the sky, the Goomba monarch bumps his fist in satisfaction. "Hell yeah! Home Run!"
Back in Beacon, everyone watched the professor's initiation with wide eyes.
In their seat, Coco Adel lowered her shade as she raised an eyebrow at the new professors' performance with an impressed remark. "Dang, they're good."
Beside her, holding her still-in-progress camera prototype at the screen, Velvet Scarlatina looked nervous as she tried to analyze & break down the new professor's skill into her memory. "I don't think I'm capable of completely mimicking their actions…" And she was correct, two of the new professors use brutal strength when wielding their weapons; one doesn't use weapons and conduct Dust elements with Semblance, and the rest two use mimicable weapons but both heavily implement with their Semblance in fighting.
In the Beacon staff section, Peter Port was laughing happily at the amazing show his new workmate put up for them. "Hoho! Would you look at them go! They remind me just like that one time of my most amazing hunting against the Beowolf horde!" Normally, many would doubt him or roll their eyes at his seemingly never-ending boasting words, but after witnessing someone putting those tall tale achievements into reality, many senior students among the Beacon Academy had to ask themselves: Were all those stories he told actually true?
"You don't think all those stories were true. Do you?" Whispered a still doubting Coco to her teammates.
"I ummm…" A slight reality crisis Velvet had her answer lost as she trail off.
"That's… debatable, I think." Replied a hesitated Yatsuhashi Daichi.
Meanwhile, a confused Fox Alistair was trying his best to imagine what his other teammates and peers were seeing based on the emotion they were experiencing. All these actions and he cannot witness any of them.
Back to the henchmen, after dealing with their first wave of enemies, they continue their conquer crusade till they reach an opening where the goal of their mission is located, and before them, they are met with a horde of Grimm, all seemingly drawn toward here by something. Among the sea of Grimm, they spot the suitcase Ozpin instructs them to collect.
Despite the large disparity between the man & the Grimm, at no point was there any emotion of nervousness or fear displayed on the 5 henchmen's faces.
"That's a lot of them, although… what's with those two leg bipeds?" Observed casually and uncared by King Boo, who was more interested in the physical biology of the bipedal Creep.
"Yet you never question why Boo has no legs?" Quipped Goomboss as he raised his eyebrow.
"I don't see you Goombas complaining about no arms tho." Smirk back smugly by King Boo.
"Touche."
"Boys, I know we care & love each other a lot, but we're kinda in the middle of a mission, not to mention we're currently being watched, let's put up a show worthy of representing our lord's name & his might shall we?" Chucked by King Bob-omb, who then moves his gaze toward the horde of monsters in front of them, then, to the vast uncivilized land behind the beasts. "After all, sooner or later these lands will become the property of his Royal Highness."
Perceiving that unwelcome intruders have entered their territory, the Grimm swarm shifted their attention from the mysterious objects to the direction of the five human flesh. Without any hesitation, the tide of darkness made of claws & hatred storms toward their immediate next target.
Instead of backing off, they ready themselves. "As our king always said…" With the same goal in mind, the five boss minions jump into the battle. "It's Show Time!"
Back in Beacon, everyone watching the unfolding battle intensely, their expectations already met & surpassed, and their curiosity higher than ever.
"Awww yeah! Show them who's the boss here!" Standing up in his seat cheering, Bowser Junior pumps his fist up as he wiggles his Koopa tail excitedly, even though he's not directly involved, this battle had already made the first day in school so much better.
In his seat, Ludwig smiled confidently at the result they were getting, if their loyal subordinates can defeat this world's major natural enemy without any difficulty, then that makes their plan of conquering this world much easier. Driving out the Grimm and pushing out territory for living space, that's the first thing they should do, you need to have a territory to claim as your own land if you wanna build a Kingdom.
If they were to drive out the Grimms, extend the area for living, create their own border, build the defense, and make the living space, then people are surely likely to follow them in hopes of safety, and maybe pledge loyalty if they can manage to build up good names. Assuming the people of Remnant will buy what they were selling.
"Hmmm, perhaps we need to form a PR team." In his mind, Ludwig starts listing the plans for advertising Bowser Kingdom, there are many businesses they could open up on this planet. Safety Transport service, Construction service, Entertainment service, even down to Space exploration. Maybe energy fuel provides service if they could find land that might contain gasoline.
His step-by-step planning, however, was rudely interrupted. As one giant shadow bargaining into the forest.
Music interrupted
"ROOOOOOOOAR!"
Both the boss Minions and the Grimms stopped what they were doing, and looked in the direction the almost screech-like loud roar originated from.
There, a few yards across them, standing in its legs, a monster with a disproportionate body was standing there staring at them dangerously, a bulky upper body that rivals Big Bully's imposing figure, but two times of the bull knight's size, enormous arms with bulging overgrowing muscles and white spikes sprouting across both arms and the back, in the center of its chest, a pulsing red orb exposing and lay bare to the world, accompanied by out sticking ribs, and connecting the monstrosity frame, a lower body that resembles that of a common Beowolf, minus the hairy wolf tails.
Its head, however, instead of a common beastly skull, was a human skull, with two small horns sticking out from the forehead like an oni.
At the surface of the beast's arms and back, cackling energy of red electricity was dancing across the monster's body.
The newcomer challenger made a low growl, seemingly indicating itself as the head honcho of this area, as many remaining Grimm quickly scatter away.
Raising his eyebrow in amusement, Goomboss mused. "Ho? So the boss of this territory decides to show up."
In a rare expression of annoyance, King Bob-omb huffed. "Still a futile resistance, these lands will be his highness', no matter how many or how big they may come. The total conquers of this land is inevitable."
They all stretched their limbs, preparing themselves for the upcoming boss fight, their mind taking the whole ordeal calmly, after all, they were not in a hurry.
If only they knew what kind of danger they were facing.
Imagine their surprise when the boss monster dash toward them at the speed of a 200cc go-kart.
"!" No even having enough time to express his surprise, King Bob-omb was sent flying toward a line of trees like a cannonball, by the brutal strength of the punch from the gargantuan Grimm smashing into his face. His human form crushed through multiple trees, as the violent sounds of rustling and snapping, occurred within his colliding.
His back crashed into a thick tree branch, absorbing the kinetic energy, finally stopping his movement, as his body went limp, face planting into the ground, his body not moving.
Their minds catching up with what had transpired before them, Goomboss looked back in shock and yelled. "Bob!"
It was a mistake on his part for being distracted, as the other hand of the giant Grimm smashed into Goomboss, sending the Goomba monarch flying. Unlike his bomb friend, he was sent into the collision course with a boulder, unable to stop himself, Goomboss smashed into the giant rock, destroying & shattering it in the process, however, the nature obstacle did little to slow him down, as his head was the first impact point, the hardness of the rock paled in comparison to a Goomba's head. The body of Goomboss flew past the now shattered rock, the leftover kinetic energy carried him far as he bounced on the ground again and again before finally stopping. Like his bomb friend, Goomboss was not moving when his body stopped.
Seeing his friend being assaulted and he may be the next, his sense dragged back to reality. Big Bully comes forward and punches the giant Grimm, only to have his punch being stopped by the hand of the monster.
"How the…" His jade green eyes opened wide and glued at the arm that grips onto his fist, unable to process the madness that transpired in front of him, and before he realized it, Bully was effortlessly lifted up by the beast and smashed around on the ground like a ragdoll just the manner he was handling the smaller Grimm from earlier.
"ROOOOOAAAAR!" With yet another ear-piercing screech, the giant beast slammed Bully into the dirt, before raising both arms high and tall, and slamming down on the bull knight, again and again, thanks to the dense armor, no major damage was infected on him, but the heavy impact on the sturdy metal cause the whole armor set to ringing with vibration, and Bully finds his every sensation overloading from the ringing. With each punch, Bully's body sinks deeper into the ground, yet the monster's relentless assault only seems to get faster within each strike.
Back at Beacon, the whole mood of the whole room went from excited to horror. Many that were knowledgeable enough to recognize the beast had their face go pale. And Peter Port happens to be one of them.
"Emnity… oh no." Said Port as he break into cold sweats, his ever-peeping attitude sank. Emnity, one of the rarest and deadliest Grimm mankind ever recorded, a complete killing machine that lay waste everywhere on its path, while not completely invincible as many folklore or story would like to exaggerate in the description, countless lives were usually lost in the effort to slay this very kind of beast, only the strongest, skilled group of Hunters would be able to stand a chance against this monster, if a team choose to hunt down this Grimm, they best to be prepared for the consequence of die trying, as it is nearly impossible to walk away from an Emnity without scratches.
The only saving grace for this Grimm is that it's really, really rare, so Huntsman usually doesn't have to look out for it, but when one shows up, it will not stop until it's slain.
In the Beacon Staff section, save for Port, Oobleck, and Glynda, who was still recovering from their yesterday's injury and were in no shape to fight the deadly Grimm, Ozpin and the rest of the staff had already moved out of the room, on their way to the parking apron to abort the emergency Bullhead to rescue his new employee.
In the amphitheater, many students were looking not so great because of the brutal assault their future professors were receiving, especially when two of them were not moving after getting knocked down.
In her seat, Ruby watched the beat down with an alarm and concerned look, she had learned this kind of Grimm from the record book back in combat school, but the info in the books only says to avoid it at all cost, never mention how to fight this thing or handle it.
Glancing at her new friends, the others have looks that differ from shock to nervousness or worry. Jaune looked a little pale as he gaped scaredly at the gargantuan Grimm on the screen. Weiss looked nervously and paler than her usual shade of white as if recognized the dangerous Grimm on screen just like many others at present. Blake kept a stoic look, yet her hands were nervously closing together. Yang was biting her thumbnail in anxiety, muttering "not good" repeatedly.
In their seat, the Koopalings immediately picked up on the change of atmosphere in the room, save for Bowser Junior, who's still too naive and simple-minded, and currently invested in the fight on the screen to care for his surroundings.
"Well, that went downhill quickly." Spoked Larry, completely unsurprised, given their usual luck, this was totally in their expectations.
"Damn, that's one hell of a mean punch." Whistle Roy as he evaluates the punch both King Bob-Omb and Goomboss received.
"But, is it just me, or does everyone look… tense to you guys?" Ask Lemmy, picking up the facial expression changing around him. As a self-proclaimed entertainer, recognizing people's emotional state is an absolute must skill to own in order to serve the best & most fitting performance. And he had noticed that something was wrong.
"They looked… scared?" Replied Wendy, noticing many that looked uncomfortable, and unsettled.
"Could it be because that giant thing is a rare type of monster?" Pondered Larry, who was trying to compare the Grimm on-screen to a giant Gold Chain Chomp on a rampage.
"Bahaha, say… where did Ludwig go?" Ask Iggy.
The other 6 siblings looked toward where Ludwig was sitting and found the seat empty, a note saying: [Be right back]. They quickly scanned around the room, only to realize Ludwig is already nowhere to be seen or found.
Smacking her forehead, Wendy groaned. "Urgh, not again."
At the parking apron, Ozpin and the Beacon staff had arrived and got the Bullhead to start their rescuing mission.
In Ozpin's mind, he was berating himself to no end, how could he be so careless? Was it because he's getting really desperate? To actually put the Relic of Choice out in the opening just to make a gambling test? He should have known better than that, Salem would immediately send a dangerous elder Grimm to retrieve it the moment it was out of his grasp. And now the whole world is going to pay for his action. Salem must not wear the crown if he had to sacrifice this body to do so!
"Headmaster, we're ready to go!" The pilot in the cockpit called.
When Ozpin was about to enter the Bullhead, a voice called to him.
"Leaving? I thought the show was just getting started."
Hearing a third person at present, the group of professional Huntsman looked back and found a Faunus teenager standing there, his hands behind his back, accompanied by a passive look.
Seeing one of the otherworldly guests here, Ozpin narrowed his eyes, he knows exactly why he is here, and he knows he's not going anywhere unless he gives him a satisfying answer.
"I'll catch another airship, go rescue them, we don't have time to waste." In another rare stern voice of authority, Ozpin leaves no room for the teachers to question.
As the Bullhead departed, Ozpin began to explain. "I'm certain you have many questions you wanna ask, but as right now, your servants are in grave danger, they're facing a very dangerous kind of Grimm, and I need to hurry to their rescue."
Hearing the word, instead of worrying, Ludwig raised an eyebrow. "Huh, and how do you know they're in actual danger?" An unreadable smile formed on his face, seemingly challenging Ozpin.
Definitely not expecting this kind of reply from him, a bewildered Ozpin was taken back by his word. His family servant & loyal subject is close to dying, yet he's not worrying at all?
Interrupting the processing of the headmaster's thoughts, Ludwig sighed. "Truthfully, if you were to ask me the well-being of my family's servants a few years ago, I would not even bat an eye regarding whether they make it out dead or alive."
His interest peaked, the Beacon headmaster stayed quiet, letting the Koopa Faunus continue, eager to see where this conversation was going. "I was… no, we were just a bunch of spoiled rich kids, our only focus was to impress our father, the king, by whatever means necessary. We have done many… questionable things, backstabbing, blackmailing, threatening, all because we're the crown child, we have so much power normal people couldn't even be able to fathom, we looked down upon those that were underneath us. Every day, each of us would try to make something to impress our father, we only lifted our mouths, leaving everything to the underlings & servants, all we did was take credit in the end, we took it for granted as we take everything, do whatever we want. Nobody dares to stop us other than our father."
In his mind, Ozpin sympathized with the Koopa Faunus. As many of his early cycles of previous identities were either nobility, royalty, or somewhere similar, he understands how often the children from these environments would try to gain favor from the parents, in hopes of being the next successor. And many times, siblings would go against each other's throats to reduce competitors, when there's no one to steer them in the right direction.
"That is, until one day we messed up in a mission our father gave us, we not only failed but we were captured and brainwashed by our enemy, into doing their biddings and doing horrible things."
Ludwig turns his head to the side, avoiding meeting his gaze with Ozpin. "Until our loyal followers come to our rescue. In the end, the one that saved us and completed the mission was none other than a low-rank minion who couldn't even tell his left and right, a naive moron. It was such a devastating humiliation. And I was left with my mind stumbling. We had everything, and we didn't lack the skill nor experiences, we were also gifted upon birth, so what was it that we lacked that prevented us from achieving the mission but him?"
Sighing, Ludwig crossed his arms. "My pride damaged. Instead of expressing gratitude for rescuing us, I challenged this servant in a leadership duel. And I lose." At this, Ludwig chucked. "Now that thinking about it, it's really funny because of how crazy it is. How foolish & arrogant I was. All because I have no faith." Hearing this, Ozpin's brows raised slightly, eager to hear the next word.
"I asked, I questioned and thought, What is it? What is it that carries him this far? What let him accomplish leadership? What makes him unite a crop of soldiers better than any of us ever could?" Signing, Ludwig answered. "Faith, his faith in everyone. When he started his quest of rescuing us, there were only 4 soldiers with him, all of them tricked him into the role of leader, so none of them needed to carry any responsibility. And by the end, when he successfully rescued me and Lemmy, he had a whole army and the rest five of my younger siblings behind him, all of them following him and his order without any question or doubt." This ending surprises Ozpin, and at the same time, reminds him of hundreds of years ago when he was dubbed as the Infinity Man, but the man in this story is not like him, and he would like to find out what kind of a man Mister Ludwig is talking about in his past.
"He was, in every way, the stupidest moron one could ever see, an actual aura of stupidity surrounds him, yet, even when everyone doubts him, laughs at him, or even looking down on him, he never gives up, always rise to challenge, his faith, loyal & belief to our king, to our kingdom was strongest then I or my siblings had, he was resolved, determined. He was the one that truly understood our King, our Kingdom's ideals, values, and spirits, while neither I nor my siblings failed to understand it." The Kooplings finished his story, looking up toward the Bullhead that the Beacon staff was aboard, getting smaller and smaller in the distant sky.
"An interesting story was it? Given that you haven't once tried to interrupt me, when you state you're in a hurry. I take it you had something you wanna ask, no?" He then turned to Ozpin, his Azure eyes stared sharply toward Ozpin's amber eyes.
Swallowing down his nervousness in a gulp, Ozpin draws a breath, before opening his mouth.
"What is it you want to tell me from this story?"

If you thought having King Boo (Luigi's Mansion), Cackletta, Fawful, Dimentio, and Antasma on the same team with Cinder is bad enough, then DO I have a surprise for you.
EVERYONE IS HERE... almost. Introducing, Smithy and Bone Chill to the group of baddies. Almost all the evilest Mario Universe bad guys are here on Remnant.
But wait, I know what some of you might think, there are still some baddies being left out, don't you worry, I have plans for them, but for now, some of the other memorable Mario villains will not show up till later.
The only revelation I'll leave here is that X-Naut will not be receiving any part of roles in this fic, I've tried to see if I could maybe fill them in as another force of goons for Cinder to control like the White Fang, but then I realized that they kinda reformed at the end of Thousand Years Door, and shift into Film and video producer according to the side cameo of Super Paper Mario, which means they're technically no longer baddies.
Plus, X-Naut as a group is led by Grodus, who wants to rule the world on his own, I sincerely doubt he's willing to share the world domination with people like Cinder, let alone Salem. (Besides, based on Grodus' personal history with witches, I doubt he'll want to have any ties with Salem.)
But just because I decide to not add one villain force doesn't mean I don't have an alternative. I have another villain force planned to join Cinder & Salem, one that is much worse than X-Naut.
