Mission statement
We exist to serve individuals with physical, mental, and cognitive disabilities by fostering a symbiotic relationship between Pokémon and people.
Founded over 50 years ago, our roots lead back to the people and Pokémon that started it all. Andy had a daughter who had Cerebral palsy. Devastated with how this group of disorders will impact her, he was permitted by the Pokémon Center to have a Pokémon raised next to her. With a Meowstic in the family, Andy chose an Espurr as a companion and helper. Espurr proved to be an invaluable addition to the operation of the family. Over time, both learned how to help each other by bonding and organic learning through her physical needs. When the daughter turned fourteen, Espurr evolved into a Meowstic furthering their ability to be self-proficient. At the age of eighteen, she went on a trip to Unova for a few months and noticed all the people who had disabilities in the populated cities. By conducting interviews, she realized that People with disabilities were uneasy about their future prospect through life and are usually alone or seldomly visited. Their disability prevented them from traveling, having certain jobs, and confidence from the community. Knowing that she is privileged to be a living example of independence through Pokémon, she went back to Kalos and started training lonely Pokémon how to help people similar to Meowstic helping her through her challenging physical disabilities.
As increased number of Pokémon were trained out on the field, word spread quickly around to both people and Pokémon. Pokémon from around the area started showing up at the training site. Not all the Pokémon who came were in the best of conditions. As much as she wanted to help people, she realized that this is an opportunity to help Pokémon as well.
Initially it was as simple as visiting people twice every day. The community began to notice that Pokémon have begun to patrol around public areas to aid people. Donations were coming in to help with feeding the Pokémon and a local warehouse was bought to facilitate enough space. The operation was small, but the impact has extended beyond what anyone could have imagined. Eventually, the organization outpaced the Operating cost to run the local center. In light of this, the organization decided to ask for funding elsewhere.
Over the course of 2 years, the government, seeing the results of the community affected by Pokémon, issued grants that enabled the expansion across Kalos. in order to expand to other regions, she decided to change the company name from Poke House of Care to what is presently known as Service Pokémon Corp to better reflect the mission of the company. As expansion continued, services offered by the company grew exponentially. with extra funding, Research begun for what is known as Second Sight, Psychic hearing, and Neuron link. Developing the process for these projects took a better part of a decade but proved to be an invaluable asset to the Blind/visually impaired, Deaf/hard of hearing, and individuals who suffer with Peripheral neuropathy.
To this day, we operate across all regions and provide services to millions of clients. We exist to serve individuals with physical, mental, and cognitive disabilities by fostering a symbiotic relationship between Pokémon and people. Together we are stronger than the barriers that separate Pokémon and people from the quality of life they deserve.
