Enjoy.

"My name is Midoriya Izuku, and I am quirkless… I was quirkless."

He stares at himself in the mirror with the utmost seriousness, sizing himself up. He sighs, shifting his gaze to the sink as he mulls over the new development.

He can't quite explain what he's feeling, like a different kind of despair. How many times did he recite this to himself in the mirror, trying to accept himself when he was growing up? He'd accepted it and moved on after so many mornings and nights repeating that exact sentence. He's had to fight harder than anybody for his position and his colleague's respect.

Now what?

He holds up a hand and focuses on it, the green lightning crackles for a moment. Curling and uncurling his fingers, he sighs again.

Shaking his head, he begins pacing in his bathroom. He chuckles to himself, "Shigaraki, you- You really know what you're doing sometimes." He has to give the villain credit. The guy really knows how to fuck with people.

It's as though a part of Izuku's identity has been destroyed. How many times is he reminded about his being quirkless in a day? How many times is he reminded to be careful? How often have colleagues tried to shield him out of a sense of protecting those they deem weaker?

What is he supposed to do? He should tell Tsukauchi at least. It's going to come out sooner or later.

He leaves his bathroom and moves to sit on his bed. He leans forward, staring at his phone in his hands. He's mulling over calling in sick. He exhales before sitting up and is about to go through the process of making the call when surprisingly his phone starts ringing.

He sees it's Tsukauchi, answering, "Hello?"

"Instead of coming to the office, you're going to consult on a case with Red Riot and Uravity. Just head to the meeting place in your email."

"I understand…"

Tsukauchi raises a brow at Izuku's strange tone. He asks, "Do you? Is there something else?"

Midoriya bites his lip, "I just… I think we need to have a talk in private, when you get a chance, of course."

Tsukauchi nods, "Okay, that's no problem. Finish this case and we can schedule something."

They end the call and Izuku stares at his phone for a moment. Could he be more cryptic? How is Tsukauchi going to react? Is Izuku's life going to drastically change?

The emerald detective stands and stretches before heading out. He can't tell if he's on the precipice of something. All he knows is that he needs to keep a lid on using his quirk and cases still need to be solved.

He arrives at the meeting place within a couple hours of leaving the station. An intern of Red Riot's is there to greet him, a young woman with the hero name Freedom Wing, with the ability to manifest any kind of animal wing.

She greets very excitedly, "You're Detective Midoriya!?"

Izuku raises a brow, nearly stepping back at her outburst. He composes himself with a smile, "Yes, are you here to show me to the conference room?" They're meeting at the Pussycat's compound, though the Pussycats are off dealing with a crisis in another region.

She nods, her hair is a light brown and she has yellow eyes, a thin countenance overall. "Yes, yes, Red Riot and Uravity told me to wait for you. I'm Freedom Wing, here to help with the case!" Izuku nods, and is about to continue inside but the woman stops him, "You've worked on the government side of things for a while right?"

Izuku maintains a professional smile, but a sternness is entering his features. "Yes, I have."

The loud woman seems to shrink as she continues, "I know this might be weird of me to ask, but have you ever met Hawks? He's my role model and I want to meet him one day."

A Hawks fan? Izuku frowns, "You should know that ever since he lost to Dabi nearly ten years ago, he's been a recluse. Even if I did know where he is, which I don't, it would be very unethical of me to give his location, especially given how that fight turned out." Hawks lost his Fierce Wings that day, and he's never shown himself in the public eye since then. Izuku adds a means of trying to help the fan, "If you want to meet him, you're better off asking your mentor's friend Tsukiyomi who might have a more friendly relationship with Hawks." The brunette offers a small smile, feeling slightly rebuked. Izuku asks sternly, "Now, can I go up to the conference room or are there any other personal issues that you want to discuss?"

The woman deflates completely, bowing her head and gesturing for Izuku to enter the building.

He sighs as he walks on. He can appreciate a spirited hero like any other, but he's here because lives have been lost and continue to be lost. At least save a discussion like this for after the killer is caught.

Maybe he was too harsh though? He's in a mood and it's not good to dampen the spirit of upstarts. He grits his teeth… He'll have to try to praise her for the case ahead. Yes, he'll make up for it.

The dark cloud of negativity completely dispels as Red Riot and Uravity amicably greet his entrance.

"Midoriya, welcome, glad to work with you on a small case!" Red Riot throws an arm over Deku's shoulders to guide him to a close seat.

Uravity grins, "Yes, we're glad we don't have any major villain fights this go around, all sleuthing. We need your detective skills!"

Deku smiles at the two, "Well, you guys can brief me on the events so far and we'll make some plans from there."

Uravity begins, "Well, you know I'm mostly a rescue specialist when it comes to the hero business, so I keep in touch with a lot of other hero agencies that also specialize in rescue operations. The Pussycats were needed for the earthquake relief team and they called me in to manage this case for them. It's been strange animal attacks of hikers recently, and they only just started thinking that this may be a serial killer with an animal quirk."

Uravity lays a folder in front of Izuku with photos of the attacks along with expert evaluations of the attacks. Izuku reads them, and the experts consulted agreed that the animal would have to be deranged to kill in this way. Animal experts suppose that a local species of bear might be able to leave this kind of carnage, but highly unlikely. It's more likely to be some kind of big cat that isn't native to Japan.

Izuku hums as he finishes reading, "And what have you guys done so far?"

Uravity sighs, "We've searched high and low, every possible place that someone could hide on the mountain, and got nothing. I called Kirishima to see if he could help me, and he hiked all over the mountain in civilian gear to try to draw out the animal, but it wouldn't show itself."

Kirishima smiles, "It probably feared my manliness and knew to stay away. There was a hunting party that was called before us, and I guess they were lucky to leave the mountain alive. Since we were at a dead end, we decided to call you and get your thoughts."

Izuku nods, meeting each of their eyes before staring at the pictures. "I don't think you guys were off in using someone as bait, but judging from the victim's profiles, a woman or smaller build guys have been on the menu."

Red Riot shakes his head, "It's safer for me to be the bait, because of my quirk. I can't put any random person in danger on my watch, it's not manly. Freedom Wing's quirk isn't fighting capable yet, and Uravity doesn't have the training to go up against an animal quirk."

"All my moves are based on human movements and redirecting them, it'd be new to go up against someone who moves like an animal. If that's what's needed then I can do it though."

Izuku frowns, considering Uraraka's disposition. She's not as familiar with close encounters and neither is Freedom Wing. Nobody on their team is suitable for the role of bait. He smiles, "I'll be bait." He holds up a hand as they start to protest, "I have the training for all sorts of encounters with different quirks, including ferocious animal quirks. It'll be fine. Freedom Wing and Uravity will use their quirks for transport when the killer makes their move, then they can drop Red Riot onto the fight and he'll take over from there."

Kirishima frowns, "You have a knack for finding yourself in tight spots though, Midoriya, we'd hate to put you in danger. We only requested your consultation."

Izuku chuckles, "You called me for help, is that because you don't believe my track record? I'm telling you that this is right up my alley. Let's solve this case today, alright?" This is the quickest and easiest way to solve the case. Otherwise, they'll have to call another hero who fits the description, but most heroes in a smaller weight class would be in more danger than Izuku who has the training for these kinds of enemies.

Izuku spreads out the reports and writes in a notebook, "The attacks have all occurred during night time, save for one that happened at dawn. Low light seems to be the preference, I can go hiking right now after I get the gear. I'm a small enough build that I seem like easy prey. I'll take a tracker that will show you my location and I can hit a panic button if the killer shows them self and you guys can rush to my rescue."

Red Riot shakes his head, "We can be there with you at all times from above."

Shaking his head, Izuku states, "I would advise against it. We're not sure all the animal senses this quirk contains, it'd be better if you guys wait at the bottom of the mountain and then rush up with Freedom Wing flying and Uravity making both herself and you weightless." Izuku glances at all of their frowns and assures them, "It'll be fine, I'll have the panic button if anything goes wrong and you guys won't be far away."

Kirishima scratches the back of his head, mulling over it, "I don't think you're wrong, I just don't like putting other people in danger…" He considers Bakugou's recent friendship with the guy and how he might react to letting Midoriya get in the thick of things. Kirishima expects a reprimand if this gets out.

Izuku laughs as he begins rolling up his sleeves to show them. He has scars covering his arms and all begin to stare. Izuku normally wears sleeves to cover them. He tells them, "I'm a detective, I'm not exactly hiding behind a desk all the time. Let's just take a killer off the street alright?"

The heroes agree.

The sun is creeping along the horizon as Izuku sets out on the trail. The only device he has is his phone and the signal. He has no weapons for fear of a heightened danger sense from the killer. The three heroes are camping in a small van parked in the lot at the base of the mountain.

They saw him off, almost praying that the killer wouldn't choose him for a target.

Izuku has a walking stick in hand as he makes his way briskly up the mountain. He's not exactly unaccustomed to hiking, and he keeps himself very fit. He almost loses himself in the quiet of nature, deriving the usual peace from it. He has to remind himself to beware of the killer lurking on the mountain though.

He frowns to himself as he enters a fog after reaching a high elevation. It's taken nearly an hour to reach this height. After another fifteen minutes, he halts at the sound of an owl's call. It didn't sound very far away.

As he continues, he hears it closer. He stops and searches about only to see the glint of the eyes on a branch of a tree in front of him. He can see the glinting eyes and dark form of it, but that's all. There isn't a lot of light, and his flashlight is set very dim.

He watches the small creature as it watches him, mesmerized by the yellow eyes. It's a small moment of wonder before he watches the pupils of the creature constrict. Izuku has to stop himself from frowning. The owl's eyes narrowed at him. He breaks eye contact to follow the path once more. The owl hoots behind him.

The fog thickens as Izuku reaches a new elevation. This isn't ideal weather for the others to find him quickly if he gets in trouble. He has to press forward, however.

He stops as he hears a soft crunch of a leaf somewhere behind him. He's quite the distance on the trail now, this is a prime attack location. He shakes his head and continues once more. Suddenly as a roar resounds, Izuku has jumped forward, rolling on himself to get further distance away from the pouncing creature. He wheels around, shining his light to its full brightness in the eyes of the tiger. It shakes its head and Izuku watches as the glinting eyes change to a different shade. It stares back at him, growling and placing one paw toward him.

Izuku reaches into his pocket to hit the signal button while having this stare down. The beast bursts forward again, heading straight at him. Izuku watches, waiting but a moment before ducking out of the way. The tiger is ready and changes direction, moving to pounce once more on the detective.

The detective doesn't slow in his quick juking. Midoriya watches the tiger roar upon missing again, and sees the fur standing on end. He can't help smiling while watching this. It's frustrating to keep missing prey. He taunts, "Animals don't usually get upset this way. I have to say, you're very small to be taking the form of a tiger. It's a little underwhelming if I must say so."

He watches it roar again, and the form changes to a decent size gorilla. It beats its chest before attacking anew. As Izuku struggles to escape the onslaught of a quick and powerful gorilla, a hero arrives. Red Riot drops in front of him as a fist is about to connect. Red Riot has his arms crossed in a block, taking the punch and a couple more before smiling at the beast waving its hands. "Don't break your hands bud, you're coming with us."

Izuku walks closer, "Be careful, our killer is a kid."

The gorilla morphs into a hummingbird zipping away but Uravity is quick to catch it. She sternly tells it, "Show yourself, or I knock you out and you wake up in a containment facility."

Suddenly a young teen has appeared before her, in his birthday suit. His skin tone is darker, with light green hair and blue eyes. None of the adults are fazed, having been at the job long enough to see all kinds of things. Izuku smiles, bringing a t-shirt and shorts out of his bag as well as some sandals. He offers them to the teen who frowns while putting them on. Uravity cuffs him with some quirk negating cuffs and the group is down the mountain in no time with Uravity and Freedom Wing's quirks.

The kid is quiet, resigned to his fate as the heroes make calls to other law enforcement. While they do that, Izuku sits on the back of the van with the teen beside him to talk.

He starts, "I figure you're probably a runaway of some sort, abandoned maybe, or even some kind of extenuating circumstance. Whatever your situation, I think your anger is clear to see in your actions. There's still hope for you to get away from this background, and I look forward to seeing you reform your ways. Maybe we can talk again when you've figured it out."

Izuku stands as cop cars pull up, he murmurs, "You can still have a future… Very nice quirk, by the way." With that Izuku says his parting words to the heroes and confirms the placement of the teen, grabbing the case number from one of the officers so he can check up later.

He also ensures to tell Red Riot in front of Freedom Wing, "She did very well today." Freedom Wing brims as Red Riot chuckles.

Izuku discovers later that the teen wasn't a runaway or abandoned. Turns out that the kid was in a car accident on a mountain in the area and when a fox came to scavenge the corpses of his parents, the kid took the form of the fox and was adopted. The fox was shot by poachers and that's where the tale of revenge against humans begins. His human name was Rory Garcia.

It's sad that the kid lost two sets of parents. He's definitely gonna need a lot of therapy, but don't we all?

Izuku happily makes his way home. It was a typical case, a normal day, and he got to work with some really great heroes. He frowns as he pulls into his driveway. Bakugou's car is also parked in front of his house. It's like the giddiness he felt over finishing a case evaporated all in one instant. The stress of his quirk came baring down once more. He didn't even consider if he got hurt, how his quirk would show itself. Shit.

As Izuku gets out, Bakugou also exits his car. What does he need at this time of night? Is it a case? Or has the blond hero come to reprimand him after getting the scoop from his best friend Red Riot?

Izuku gathers his things as Bakugou walks up to him. "Hey Baku-" Izuku is startled as Bakugou slides down his car as if his legs can't hold him. "Bakugou?" Izuku is by his side as the blond chuckles to himself.

The stench of alcohol greets Izuku as the detective surveys the off-duty hero. The latter chuckles to himself, "I may've had a feewww too many." Bakugou holds up a hand with his index finger and thumb parallel to each other, indicating the amount.

Izuku's eyes narrow, "Did you drive here?"

Bakugou laughs, "I got a fan to drive me of course, I ain't dumb, nerd." He shoves Izuku back.

Izuku feels his eye twitch in anger, but he keeps his composure. "Right, how about we go inside?"

Bakugou nods, using Izuku's car for support as he tries to keep the world from spinning.

Izuku holds onto his arm, leading the hero inside slowly. "Not that I don't appreciate surprise visits, but can I ask why you're here and not home?"

"Can't have people know where I live, or any other heroes, you're still nobody."

Izuku grits his teeth, "Right." Same old asshole.

They get inside and Katsuki sinks into the couch, falling asleep in record time. Izuku sighs to himself, "You're a fucking piece of work, ain't you," before haphazardly throwing a blanket on the guy. Then he gets himself ready for bed.

Finally lying in bed, Izuku slowly drifts off before a whisper of a word pulls his consciousness back. It's a quiet whimper, "Izuku."

Izuku's eyes open and he blinks into the darkness. He doesn't believe in ghosts, but there is one other person that he might've heard this from… It's rare that he gets to hear his given name from the blond. He sighs into his pillow. The hero might be worried about him after discovering the detective has a quirk that was forced on him. Izuku shouldn't get too angry at him this time around, he supposes.

A part of Izuku still wants to venomously rebuke the blond away from his private life and his private concerns. On the other hand, he knows this is based on resentment from his childhood, which he should let go of, because people tend to mature and change as they go through life. The Bakugou today isn't a carbon copy of the Kacchan from his youth. They've established that and they've worked together multiple times now. Izuku really needs to let go of his memories from the past. He shouldn't even really expect an apology either...

Izuku isn't sure when he drifted off during his ruminations in the night, but he turns at his phone vibrating. He grabs it while sitting up, "Hello?"

He looks at the time and notices that it's a few hours before he technically starts working or four in the morning.

"I've got a case I've sent to your email. It's a couple cities away, so I wanted to call so you would have enough time to get ready and head over. We can meet when you get back later tonight."

Izuku is rubbing his burning eyes, "Understood, I'll get right on it. See you when I get back."

They end the call.

Izuku deflates, "Ugh, I'm so fucking tired." He tears himself away from bed and begins to move about his room, getting everything in order. He showers quickly after looking up the details on the case. It's a two hour drive to the middle of nowhere and it's potentially League related.

He finishes quickly and is about to head out when he stops to stare at Katsuki's form on his couch. He should probably leave a note or something. He writes out quickly, "Got a call about a case, make yourself at home until you're able to drive. Don't expect me back soon."

He leaves with that.

The drive is quiet and desolate. He gets onsite around eight in the morning after leaving around six. Parking by the other law enforcement vehicles, he's ushered in as everyone recognizes him. One of the officers informs him, "Some hikers stumbled on these two bodies at a dead end here, one of the first responding officers happened to notice that they're League members."

The two are directed to the crime scene and Izuku gets his first sighting of the bodies. He frowns, "Well, they are League members that we've noticed in certain attacks, but they're lower ranking, probably not answering directly to Shigaraki…" Izuku's frown deepens as he notes the expressions, "Do we have some potential causes of death?"

"So far, looks like some kind of torture. Do you think Shigaraki did it with one of his quirks?"

Izuku crouches by the bodies, staring at the male and then the female and back again. He answers eventually, "No, Shigaraki is fond of using Decay for torture." Izuku blinks his eyes at flashbacks from his personal experience with it. He clears his throat, standing again. His reasoning for the conclusion lies in other cases where they've found evidence of it being used on other dumped League members. "I think this might be something else…" Izuku has a hunch. "Can you guys get some cadaver dogs here?"

The officer frowns but nods through it, "Sure." He moves off to request the dogs.

Izuku stares at the bodies once more. He's lost in thought when his phone begins vibrating. The Caller ID shows that it's Kouta. He answers, "Hello, what's up?"

"Midoriya-san?" Izuku suddenly focuses on Kouta's voice. His entire attention is on Kouta with a formal address like that.

"Is something wrong?" Izuku means to listen for a response before another officer begins talking to him while he's on the phone. Izuku is quick to silence him, "Give me a minute, back off!" Izuku points at the officer before continuing on the phone, "Kouta-kun, are you alright? Are you safe? Give me a minute, I'm on my way." This isn't the first time Izuku has rushed to Kouta's side after the younger got himself in with the wrong crowd.

"No, no, everything's fine. I'm okay, I'm- I'm at the doctor's office and I just got some news…"

Izuku is at a loss because Kouta sounds so distressed, "Good news or bad news? Do I need to slip you some alcohol?" Izuku glances around him to make sure nobody's listening too intently on the conversation.

"It's up to you, I just wanted to share the news that my spine looks normal now. I got some feeling back in my legs and had the doctor check. It's healed."

"Is that right? This isn't something to joke about, Kouta. If you lie to me, I'm going to be very upset…" Izuku feels excitement bubbling as Kouta confirms that he's experienced a miraculous recovery. He wants to celebrate, but can't since he's at work.

The two make plans to reconnect later before hanging up.

This is such good news, Izuku is nearly giddy for Kouta. He has to refocus on the case at hand though. The officer that he spoke with before rejoins him to inform that the dogs are on the way.

The dogs arrive after a half hour of waiting and Izuku tells their handlers to spread out and see if the dogs find anything.

Turns out that this spot is a gold mine of cadavers. Izuku watches as throughout the day more staff funnel in through the woods, excavating bodies and finding bones.

Izuku receives his leave in the afternoon, seeing as there's not much more he can do onsite. He'll get regular updates on it.

One of the officers catches him as he's headed to his car.

"Detective, what made you call the dogs in the first place?"

"Call it a hunch, if it's League members that were tortured and quietly disposed of, then it might be another group of villains that did them in. I know this area has a couple of random corpses in its history, making me think that it might be a dumping site and that nobody's ever thought to ask if there were more bodies in the area because of how random the bodies seemed."

The officer nods, digesting the explanation, "I see, well, only you could've connected all those dots. Thanks for your help!"

Izuku smiles and nods, "Any time." He waves goodbye as some of the other investigators wave at him.

It'll be interesting to find the culprit behind this dumping site though. Izuku is excited as he makes his way to the office. He texts Tsukauchi to let him know that he's on his way back. He's not excited for the talk he has to have with his supervisor, however.

It's the evening when he does finally reach his office. Luckily, detectives are accustomed to staying late working on cases. Crime doesn't exactly sleep. Tsukauchi is just as haggard as the rest of them, as he is sometimes the first call made on certain cases.

Izuku texts his supervisor to let him know that he's on the premises. He takes an exhaustive exhale as he heads into his lit office. Tsukauchi awaits.

He steps inside and finds his supervisor at his desk. Tsukauchi is older, his eyes are sunken with exhaustion and stress. He has many frown lines on his forehead from years of detective work. Still, despite his age, something about his demeanor is as sharp as a whistle.

The older greets with a tired smile, "Midoriya-kun, how was the drive? Have you had anything to eat?"

Izuku smiles politely, "Yeah, I ate on the way. It wasn't the worst drive, at least I didn't have to deal with any bad weather."

"That's true." The hardened detective moves to seat himself on Izuku's guest chair while gesturing for Izuku to take the desk seat, "Here, sorry, I'm blocking you from getting settled. If you need a minute then I can wait."

Izuku finds the guy's general demeanor extremely disarming, but he knows to be wary. Izuku does as he's instructed and takes his desk seat after setting his bags down. Once he's settled, he asks, "Would you like some water, Tsukauchi-san?"

"No, that's alright. If you wouldn't mind, may I ask what it is you wanted to speak with me about?"

Izuku finds himself locking eyes with his supervisor. He breaks eye contact and clears his throat, readying himself for the conversation ahead. "Well, I want to start with an apology that it has taken me so long to notify you of this. As you are aware, I was the captive of Shigaraki Tomura many months ago, and we know that he has the capability to forcibly take or give quirks to people. He told me then that he had given me one, before abandoning me in that wood, but I wasn't sure if it would ever show itself or if it would ever be something to worry about…"

Izuku finds himself staring at the desk in front of him as he hears Tsukauchi let out a deep exhale.

The emerald detective continues, "I know it would've been better to notify you sooner, but I was caught up with how others might perceive Shigaraki giving me a quirk, and I hoped it might never emerge… Unfortunately, it did emerge on the case I worked with Ground Zero."

"Ground Zero signed a nondisclosure agreement on things he would've seen on cases with you. I'll reiterate it to him to make sure he understands that… I'm glad you've come clean, but I was never worried about it and figured you would make the right decision and tell me when you thought necessary. I was privy to tests they ran at the hospital when you returned and I've known that you now have a quirk factor. I wasn't sure if you knew or not, however, and thought it best to hope it never showed and also keep it under wraps." Tsukauchi stands, grabbing his suit jacket as well as his trench coat, "If that's all Midoriya, it is late. Let's keep this new quirk between us for now. I'll reach out to Ground Zero tomorrow, and I'll expect a detailed report on what your new quirk is and how it may get in the way of work tomorrow."

Izuku also stands, "I don't have a full understanding of it yet either…"

Tsukauchi pauses, "Is it dangerous?"

"No, it seems protective, but I don't completely understand the trigger to activate it. I was also really sick after it activated and had to be taken to the hospital."

Tsukauchi frowns, "Then let's hold off on the report until there's more information about it. I'll leave your case load up to your discretion for the time being and only confirm you for cases that you approve."

Midoriya bows, "Thank you, sir." He smiles lightly as Tsukauchi leaves with a small wave. He sits back in his desk chair with a sigh, "Glad that's out of the way." The more he thought about it, the more he figured Tsukauchi would know that he had a new quirk after being with Shigaraki for more than twenty four hours. Seeing as Izuku has spent more time than he would care to admit with Tsukauchi, it's no surprise that they have a similar thought process on things.

All that's left is to celebrate Kouta's recovery. Izuku is tired from the exhaustive day, so the celebration plans will have to wait till the morning.

It's a touching moment when Izuku finally gets to see Kouta. The younger is happy to wiggle his toes as proof of the miracle.

Izuku feels tears brimming as he embraces his wheelchair bound friend.

He wipes a stray tear smiling as he asks, "What did the doctor say?"

Kouta also wipes some tears, "Well, he told me it would be a long process, but that I could expect to be able to walk again. He said that this part of recovery is up to me and that I would set the pace… I've been doing some light exercises to start. It kind of hurts though."

"Don't push yourself too hard, just listen to the doctors. You want to make sure you do this part right."

Kouta nods, "Yeah, it's just like there's now a million opportunities in front of me and I just have to get my legs to carry me to them."

"Take it easy, alright, there's enough time. You'll get where you need to eventually, but first, small steps."

"I know, I know. I'm so excited."

"Me too."

The two celebrate and talk a while longer.

Izuku feels as if he's on top of the world for a period. Tsukauchi knew about his new quirk factor and now Kouta's regained feeling in his legs. He's been in a nice work flow, with no cases with Katsuki. It's all so great.

He's coming back from a case, walking along the sidewalk to the crosswalk at the station when he sees a young woman standing there, staring at the station across, soaked from the rain. He silently joins her with his umbrella covering the two. It takes her a moment to realize.

After an awkward consolation, he hands her his business card and she smiles at him suddenly.

She pulls out a paper and hands it to him, "I think you're the person I'm looking for."

Izuku finds himself slightly perturbed, staring between the letters on the paper and the young woman in front of him. This could be some kind of weird villainous plan, but it's too strange. His instincts are telling him to flee from this situation and arrest the woman in front of him as quickly as he can. He looks at her though, and all he sees is her innocence.

He clears his throat, "What's your name?"

She frowns, "I don't remember. I've lost my memory somehow and woke up with that paper waiting for me."

Izuku matches her frown, "Care to follow me inside the station? Maybe we can use the databases to find out?" He notices her frown deepen before she agrees to follow him inside.

The detective isn't sure what to expect, but he has a bad feeling about this.

A/N: Your estranged author is alive. I'm just stuck on one of the later chapters and contemplating my life choices lol. I've made headway though so I shall post this chapter now. Hope ya'll enjoyed it! I'll now return to banging my head on the wall hoping that my plans for this story fall into place. Adieu.
