Naofumi cracked his neck as he pulled out his M5S SMG and looked around
"What's the first step commander?" Raphtalia asked wearing a ODST combat uniform with red, white and brown armour
"Scouting" Naofumi said as he moved slowly with his gun held at a ready position, stopping Naofumi activated the beacon on his belt
"what's that for Master?" Filo asked
"It's a location beacon" he said as he heard roars, moans and armour shifting "Up ahead" Noafumi said as the moved slowly to try and be stealthy "And once again there is no sign of those guards or knights anywhere" Naofumi said
"What should we do?" Raphtalia asked
"I got him on radar" Echo 216 said
"Alright what's the closet LZ?" Locke asked
"half a click away from his position" Echo said
"land there" Buck said
"You got it" Echo said
"You think he's holding on?" Kelly asked
"Knowing his luck he's laying low and surveying the landscape to see if anyone is coming to get him" Buck said
"or?" Lock asked
"He's in the middle of things getting monster guts on his boots" Mickey joked
"Hope it's the first one" Locke said
"GRENADE!" Naofumi shouted as he threw a grenade at a group of monsters, making them scatter as it exploded. "Raphtalia; the villagers!"
"On IT!" she shouted ripping her sword out of the skeleton she was facing to usher the villagers to safety while Filo was jumping around shredding the monsters. Naofumi check his motion tracker and saw that there were still overwhelming red dots
"Master there's too many" Raphtalia said
"I know!" Naofumi shouted as he reloaded before switching to his magnum "And this is just typical, they all rush ahead and I'm here defending the villagers," he said when he heard a low whistling noise "COVER!" he shouted as several large steel pods hit the ground, each opening up to reveal several ODSTs
"SECURE THE VILLAGE!" Sarah Palmer said
"Spartan Palmer?" Naofumi asked
"Corporal Naofumi, we'll handle the defence of the village" Palmer said
"Yes ma'am, but my team is said to meet me here"
"OGRE INCOMING" a ODST said as three of them formed up and fired at different spots on the ogre, taking chunks out with each shot. Soon an ODST with a grenade launcher rushed forward and fired a couple of rounds off making the ogre blow up
"COME ON MAN! I'm covered in ogre guts" another ODST said
"Sorry" the Grenadier said
"Gross" Naofumi said
"NAOFUMI!" Buck shouted out as and the rest of the shield team ran over
"SIR!" Naofumi saluted
"Are you ready to try and find the boss monster?" Buck asked
"I am, girls you ready to go?" Naofumi asked
"Yes/yeah" The girls announced
"Let's go" Naofumi said
"LZ's half a click out" Buck said firing his shotgun
"Why didn't you park at the gate?" Naofumi said
"It wasn't clear" Dutch shout firing his rocket launcher making several monster explode
"PALMER YOU GOT THIS?" Buck roared
"SEE YOU AT HAPPY HOUR SPARTAN!" Palmer called out.
"YOU GOT IT" Buck shouted as Shield team ran off
"I've got eyes on monster, 12 O'Clock high" Joe said
"Roger that Wasp 9" Wasp Leader said as he and the rest of the Wasps headed to the battlefield
"What is that?" Wasp 2 asked making everyone look over to see a pair of giant galleons floating in the air.
"Those are new" Joe said
"Look the other heroes are on the ship" Wasp Leader said
"Give them cover?" Joe asked feeling slightly annoyed. The squadron leader picked up on it and flew over to the ships. He locked onto one of the monsters and fired rockets at it making it pop in midair. On the deck of one of the ship, the heroes had to dodge the falling offal
"HEY WATCH IT!" Motoyasu said as his party or rather harem screamed squicked out by the falling guts.
"Sorry, dick" Joe said
"Just cover the ship, you can sort out petty differences later" Wasp Leader said
"Yeah yeah" Joe said
Itsuki was sniping random monsters as the ship drew closer to him. He was about to get ready to swing across when a larger aircraft flew into his view
"What is that?" He asked
"HEY ITSUKI" Naofumi shouted as the rear hatch of the Pelican was open "What's going on?"
"The others are on that ship they think that is where the boss will pop up" Itsuki said
"Okay, you heard him pilot" Naofumi said
"Wait, you aren't going to bring me along?" Itsuki asked shocked
"Not enough room, sorry all filled up" Naofumi smiled as the Pelican flew off
"Seriously?" Buck asked
"What its true" Naofumi said as the ship was below them. He smirked as he saw Itsuki use a rope arrow to get onto the ship
"Okay so how do we want to do this?" Buck asked as they all grabbed their helmets and armaments
"We drop" Locke said
"Drop?" Raphtalia asked
"Yeah Drop" Locke said as he jump out of the Pelican with Vale and Tanaka
"We are Orbital Drop Shock Troopers" Dutch laughed as he followed with the rest of alpha-9
"Raphtalia get on the back of Filo, Filo fly down there" Naofumi said
"You got it master" Filo said as Linda and Kelly jumped next
"OK GO!" Naofumi shouted as he jumped from the ship and landed on the deck of the flying galleon and shot a ghoul
"Naofumi" Motoyasu said
"What are you doing here Shield Hero?" Myne asked as Filo nearly landed on her.
"Fighting duh!" Motoyasu said as a skeleton warrior was about to stab Ren, only for Raphtalia to use her sword to cut it down
"Thanks" Ren said
"No worries" Raphtalia smiled
"Where's the boss?" Buck asked as he looked around
"Anyone for calamari?" Romeo said as he pulled out a M6 Spartan laser, aiming and blow off a tentacle. Kelly landed and used Oathsworn and destroyed a few skeletons, It was during that last round of gunfire Naofumi noticed something
"WE NEED SOME LIGHT!" Naopfumi shouted as he fired at one of the Kraken's tentacles that was about to slap Ren.
"DEPLOYING FLARE" Dutch shouted as he shot one into the air
"What are we looking for Naofumi?" Buck asked
"The shadows!" Kelly shouted
"I got it" Raphtalia said stabbing the shadows, making a reptilian monster fade out of it
"That's the boss" Naofumi said
"WHAT IS THAT THING?" Romeo shouted
"A Soul eater" Naofumi said as several more appear.
"LOCKE AND LOAD!" Buck ordered
"Did you just use my name as a pun?" Locke asked as he fired on one, but it did nothing "What?"
"That's not good" Buck said
"AIRSTRIKE SHIELD!" Naofumi shouted as he summoned a green energy shield and shot it at the monster, which held it back a bit
"CHAOS SPEAR!" Motyasu said
"LIGHTNING SWORD!" Ren said trying to use and electric attack on it which did more damage than Motoyasu
"Okay let's kick it up a notch" Romeo said as he aimed at one of them. Raphtalia backed up when she felt a familiar surge of power
"Master" Raphtalia said summoning her golden plasma sword, its golden light shining over the warriors
"What is that?" Ren asked
"Golden Radiance, a special blade granted to Raphtalia" Naofumi said as he closed his eyes making crimson flames overtake his shield "NOW SHIELD OF WRATH!"
"Raphtalia" Joe said as he saw the golden light, but he also noticed he wasn't the only one "those monsters are heading for the Shield Team"
"Understood, take them down" Wasp leader said as the Wasps headed for the light
"Naofumi please be okay" Joe whispered
"WHAT IS THAT!" one of the Wasp pilot said as a Soul Eater bit his craft in half
"HAMILTON!" Wasp Leader said
"What are they doing?" Joe asked as he saw the crimson flames "Oh no"
"What is it?" Wasp Leader asked as the red flames exploded into Naofumi wearing spike black armour
"The double edged sword of our friend" Joe said as he shot at the monsters
"It's hot" Naofumi said as he was consumed by Rage, the images he saw last time flashed in his mind, but there were new images, these ones of Ren attacking something, it was then Naofumi realised what they were images of "This fury, this rage it's the Dragon's!" he exclaimed. Suddenly the air was filled with laughter as purple flames gathered and turned into the face of the dragon the one he was sent after that Renm left to rot. He felt all of its pain
"YOU WILL PAY!" it declared as Ren stabbed intro Naofumi making him feel the pain "For humiliating me as a puny human, and for humiliating me and taking my bones as a tool, YOU WILL PAY!" it shouted
[GROWTH AFFECTED BY DRAGON ZOMBIE!] a system window said
"This seething rage. No this hatred" Naofumi he said "I feel good" he thought as he walked, leaving burning footprints.
"WHAT!" Itsuki said "WHAT IS THAT!" he shouted as the three looked at Naofumi
"HEY WAIT!" Motoyasu exclaimed upon seeing Filo pissed off and covered in the same flames
"That's new" Buck said
"That dragon!" Mickey said
"they're being affected by the dragon zombie?" Romeo asked
Dragon Zombie?" Motoyasu asked as Naofumi rammed the soul taker burning it in flames making everyone worried
"He's basically turned into a wild beast" Myne said
"WHY YOU!" Dutch said
"WHY ARE YOU STANDING THERE WHEN HE'S FIGHTING " Raphtalia barked
"Wretched demihuman" Myne said
"Wretched BITCH!" Buck snapped
"Master Naofumi is fighting in our place to due what we lack the courage to do" Raphtalia started to cry, "If only I was stronger then I wouldn't have to put him through this"
"Its okay" Joe comforted her as he looked at his friend fighting the giant white monster while being consumed with flames
"How can you call yourselves the world's heroes?" Locke asked as he fired at the monster "NAOFUMI! I DON'T KNWO IF YOU CAN HEAR ME BUT FIGHT THE CONTROL OF IT!" he shouted.
"CRIMSON SWORD!" Ren declared slashed the Kraken's tentacle with fire covering his sword
"THUNDER SHOT!" Itsuki said "Motoyasu"
"WHY DO YOU HAVE TO HELP THE BASTARD?" Motoyasu asked
"BECAUSE IT'S RIGHT!" Buck shouted
"You can't be serious about helping him?" Myne said
"Oh yeah" Locke said
"FORWARD UNTO DAWN!" Buck ordered.
Once the monster was down, Raphtalia and Ren stabbed it side while Motoyasu impaled it's side. The Spartans fired at it, filling it with hollow point ammo which barley did anything. Filo was striking if from various angles with her claws and wind abilities
"Okay Lightning good, wind bad" Dutch said
"Do we even have any wind base weapons?" Mickey asked
"Nope" Romeo replied chucking a grenade as it power up. the girls on Motoyasu's team stood back and cheered much to the annoyance of the Shield team
"If you're not going to do anything, then SHUT UP!" Vale shouted
"How dare you" Myne shouted
"Really?" Tanaka shouted as she kicked a skeleton off the ship. "That's your comeback?"
"Focus!" Locke shouted as he fired again. A tentacle came up behind him
"LOOK OUT!" Raphtalia cried as Ren sliced it saving Locke.
"Thanks" Locke nodded
"Don't mention it" Ren said
"We're not wearing this thing down" Motoyasu said
"No kidding" Dutch panted
"Ah guys" Chips said
"SHIELD PRISON!" Noafumi declared as the monster was captured by shields
"Alright Naofumi" Buck said as the sound of a gun being loaded was heard. "Naofumi?" he asked
"Master?" Filo asked as she watched Naofumi stand there with his SOCOM gun before levelling it at Myne's head
"NAOFUMI!" Joe shouted
"You insufferable bastards, this is the least you deserve for destroying our colony" Naofumi snarled
"I don't think he's thinking clearly" Vale said
"You think?" Buck snapped
"Harvest and Reach, you glassed them and slaughtered hundreds, you lead grunts against civilians including children"
"That wasn't in the mission report" Tanaka said
"It was, just censored" Buck explained
"YOU USE HUNTERS TO TAKE DOWN A HOSPITAL!" Naofumi roared
"Hunters?" Itsuki asked
"Big living tanks" Dutch said
"NOW YOU DIE!" Naofumi shouted
"SOLAR RADIANCE!" Raphtalia said casting everything in a golden hue making the monsters back off
The raging flames were now a blazing cyclone around Naofumi who was screaming in pain and rage as he pointed a gun at an elite in his mind. The main soldier of the Covenant and it was before him
"You insufferable bastards, this is the least you deserve for destroying our colony" Naofumi snarled as the Elite roared at him "YOU USED HUNTERS TO TAKE DOWN A HOSPITAL!" he shouted as he came closer and closer to squeezing the trigger when a wave of golden light washed over him, and now he was in a ruined village under the stars.
"You okay?" the Spartan asked
"what happened, where's the wave?" Naofumi asked
"You're still there but right now the rage was taking over you mind" the Spartan said
"Where are we?" Naofumi asked
"Where I am" the Spartan said "This was once a peaceful fishing village for the Demihumans. The first wave struck here and no one came to their aid, after the wave was over the knights finally came in here"
"And did what?" Naofumi asked
"They were either killed or enslaved" the Spartan said. "You save one of them"
"I did" Naofumi explained as a vision of a young Raphtalia came across his vision before it faded into him being held by the Tanuki demi-human "RAPHTALIA!"
"Naofumi" She said barely standing
"So that is what we're fighting huh?" Naofumi
"Yeah its weak against Wind and lightning. You had it contained in a Shield Prison but it broke out" Raphtalia said
"Yeah, well I'll need to do something darker" Noafumi said
"What?" Raphtalia asked
"First of all SHIELD PRISON!" he shouted as he formed a new spherical prison around the soul eater. "SHIELD OF WRATH!" he shouted as the flames on his black jagged shield were now golden. "Inside this Virgin of Cold Ore, one that shall swallow even your screams with her cold embrace as your body is stabbed and skewered I CAST THEE IRON MAIDEN!" he shouted as a portal formed
"No" Buck said
"He's joking" Dutch exclaimed as out of the portal came a giant iron maiden
"What is that?" Myne asked as the Iron Maiden opened revealing several dozen spikes inside it
"You don't want to know" Locke said, unbelieving that the sight as the Iron Maiden forced its spikes into the monster, Dutch acted quickly and covered the ears if
girls as the sound of it's pain rang out while it sank back into the portal.
"Naofumi, what the heck was THAT!?" Buck asked as Naofumi turned his shield back to normal and crashed to one knees
"No idea where that came from, but" he said looking at the corpse of the monster
"Don't" Buck said as Naofumi started to absorb parts into his shield when he felt a spear at his back
"You're coming with us" Motoyasu said as Itsuki and Ren stood there shocked
"No way" Naofumi said as he loaded a round into his SOCOM Magnum and then paused, he looked around
"What's wrong?" Raphtalia said
"Something's still here" Naofumi said as Filo crashed to the deck of the ship "FILO!" he shouted
"UP HIGH!" Romeo called out making all of the UNSC forces point their guns up.
"Another Monster?" Itsuki asked as a dark haired woman in a purple yukata floated down
"Another hero?" Motoyasu asked
"Either way she's trouble." Naofumi said glaring at her.
G'day Guys Grizz here and wow its been awhile, but hey I was working on other fics as well as this one, which was a bit trickier to write due to it being the second wave of the canon and the first on screen one with the added air element of the fight and the mind spartan arriving. So this was the trickiest and a bit of fun to write and next time we'll be seeing Glass!
