Guest: Yes I did end up redoing the ages for all. I felt better about them being older hence why the ages are different than before. If I ended up making a wrong age I will need to go back and look it over once again. As I tried to keep it as a baseline with the Twins so any time I list the twins' age I go down the line to those that appear you can say. Though I do thank you for the attention as I spotted so much wrong.
(Depending on birthdays)
Starting with Itama and Amuro – 3 years older than the twins
Kawarama – 4 years older
Izuna and Kazuya – 5 years older
Tobirama and Madara (Still not sure why I decided to make them the same age) – 6 years older
Hashirama – 7 years older
Shiri – 3 years younger
Then depending on the season I'm envisioning I have to take into account the birthdays set from canon to the ones I have for the OC within the story. Like Hashirama and Shiri share a birthday. Itama and Kazuya are November babies.
Hope that helped with the confusion. If I did indeed have a mess up in the ages please let me know so I could fix it within.
P.S. After relooking at the ages I realized I forgot that it was mentioned Kawarama was indeed seven when he died. I will go through to make sure it goes back to him being seven once more, but we will have a bigger time frame from then to the ages I have now. My mistake. Trying to keep track of all these ages is a little brutal.
Hashirama - 16
Tobirama - 15
Tsukino and Hashino – 9
Kazuya – 14
Amuro – 12
Shiri – 7
Madara – 15
Izuna - 14
White lilies were laid at the base of each new grave that had been dug. Twenty-two in total Senju members had been put to rest in the last battle. One that included Itama. A hand clenched gently within Tsukino's own. That hand belonging to her twin while their two remaining brothers stood behind them. Having taken the few days to reach the Senju compound Tsukino had once again missed the burial of her brother and that of her clan members.
Being as they were guests within the compound both Aburame brothers were showed to one of the buildings that would house them for the time being until they were summoned back or a few months pass. They were taking time to settle letting Tsukino mourn with that of her family.
As the sun lowered closer to the ground bathing everything in an orange glow Hashirama stepped closer to lay a hand on both twins' shoulders. "It's getting late, we should go." He stated softly as Tsukino used her free hand to wipe away the tears but the only continued to pour as the sisters were pushed gently to the path that led back to the compound.
Waiting for the four siblings was Yumiko as she stood at the gates. Being as it was still fresh; she wore a black yukata just as the siblings were with her hair half pulled back into a bun showing more gray in the years since. Giving them a small smile Yumiko walked with them back to the main house. Food was already set on a table with the two Aburame brothers waiting quietly. Being as this was not home they wore the large coats at all times.
Even being home these last few weeks many could see the toll of Itama's death on the siblings. Being outsiders the Aburame brother watched the way the four remaining siblings took to the missing presence of Itama. They found the twin, Hashino, diving into her studies that Yumiko taught her at times going a week straight of barely eating, sleeping, and taking part in the physical training as Yumiko worked to keep the girl from dropping into a coma of exhaustion. It didn't work.
"Hashino, you need to sleep." Yumiko stated softly putting a hand on the girls shoulder that was hunched over the table as she read over the scroll of stronger poisons. "You know from your studies pushing like you have been is damaging to your growth and mental health. You need to eat more than a few bites."
"I can't Grandmother! I cant sleep." Hashino answered with a shake of her head. "All I can see is his prone body. His blood on the grass, on the rock, on him. Every time I close my eyes that is what I see." The hands that held the scroll soon clenched it tightly. "I've seen blood, been chest cavity deep into another, taken limbs from others because that is what I was trained to do."
Yumiko kneeled next to the girl taking her into arms to embrace securely. "Those close to us affect us deeper. To see a loved one in a way is a shock to our core. Doing simple things becomes harder." Running a hand through Hashino's long brown hair Yumiko could feel the tremors and feel fingers dig into soft skin. "It was your first time out on a mission as an iryo-nin for the group with Hashirama that this may never leave you, my dear."
Hashino gave a wet hiccup. "I…I feel like I failed him, like I failed…my siblings. Of all of them I'm the one they come too to be healed…..even Tsukino when it needs more skill to be healed. I'm their healer and I couldn't get him back. I couldn't get him back to us. I couldn't! H-he remained g-gone! I tired ev-everything that I knew to revive…b-but I was too late! We were too late!" she sobbed burrowing her face into Yumiko stomach. Yumiko held her whispering nothings letting the girl pour out her grief until slowly Hashino grew quiet.
"Will she be alright?" Yumiko glanced to one of the Aburame brothers, Amuro. His glasses not giving way to where he was looking but she could guess he was eyeing Hashino.
"For now, no. Maybe in a couple of more weeks or months, but not at this moment." She answered continuing to run her hand through Hashino's hair. "Each death to my family is painful but I have had to deal with loss in so many ways that it is a part of me. I have lost two children to birthing complications, I have lost three of my children to this senseless fighting with the Uchiha and I have lost one child to her own childbirth that it took the life of her unborn child with her."
Amuro tilted his head as he listened to the older woman slowly coming to take a seat near but still far enough to leave room. "Butsuma is my only living child of seven. And now I only have four of seven grandchildren still living. I have lost my husband. I have lost my own three siblings due to illness and fighting. But yet, I still live even at my age of nearly ninety-one."
"Why tell me, a stranger, this?" Amuro asked giving hints to his confusion.
Yumiko studied the boy. "Have you lost any of you clansmen? Or any close family?"
"Yes. I lost an Uncle to a mission a few years back."
"But you worked through the pain left behind at his passing."
Amuro tilted his head again. "It still hurts as he was always there to help mother being he was her brother. I miss him still, but it has lessened in time."
"You will never stop missing him. As I have never stopped missing the children I have lost." Yumiko stated glancing down to Hashino. "One of the ways I have found that helps lessen this pain is to speak about it. At one time I had my husband to speak with when we lost a child together. Yes, it hurt like a kunai to the chest when I thought about them, but as I would talk, I would remember them as they lived." Her eyes brighten with tears, but they never fell. "Now, I will be the support for my grandchildren as they go through this pain."
They sat in silence for a bit. Yumiko letting the boy think about what was said before shifting Hashino. "Would you be a dear and take Hashino to her room to continue the rest she is needing?" Amuro nodded moving closet to take the girl bridal style. "Her room is not too far."
"I will be able to find it with my kikaichū." He stated turning to leave. It didn't take him long to find the room that held the most of her chakra essence. Stepping into the room he was curious to the pictures of drawn plants and scenery and shelves full of volumes of scroll to her trade. It seemed cluttered with other personal items gathered but it was in a chaotic order that only she knew. Kneeling to the futon he gently set her down only to be taken by surprise when he found her staring at him.
Glancing down he found her gripping firmly to the sleeve of his coat then back to her brow raised in question. Her honey brown eyes shift to look around finding she was in her room before landing back on the shades he wore. "Would you please stay? I…I don't wan to be left alone."
Amuro thought it over taking her hand and gently prying it off his sleeve. He didn't let her hand go and after a few minutes Hashino shifted closer to lay on her side facing Amuro gripping his hand while he sat next to her in a relaxed lotus style. It was quiet between the two. Eyes closed Hashino let herself go back to the rest she had been in only to slowly focus on a light buzz sound. Creaking them open she looked to the Aburame. "Is that coming from you?"
The light buzz abruptly stopped. Since arriving here the brothers never truly spent time near the youngest as she would make a quick exit when they came near her. They understood not many people would take to knowing insects were living within you as many found bugs to be disgusting. "Sorry, I thought that if I let my hive created some noise it could lull you to sleep. I will stop if it is a bother."
She observed at him in thought. She didn't like insects all too much and knew he would be the last person she would have wanted to be near, but he stayed when she asked him too. They were strangers and was only here to see if a marriage could be worked with her sister. Either way, she would have to start somewhere to get to know of her future brothers-in-law and what better way than now. "No, it's alright. It…" she thought about it over in her mind. "It was a pleasant sound. It reminds me of the sounds at night."
"Would you like for me to continue?" he asked.
"Please." He nodded and soon the light sounds of buzzing were heard. It didn't take long for Hashino to fall back into her sleep her grip on Amuro's hand softening, but he remained seated letting the sounds his kikaichū delicately fill the room. Even with Hashino not gripping his hand he continued to for her.
It was only later that Yumiko would quietly enter Hashino's room to check up on her granddaughter that she would be witness to a sight. One that she hoped would remain a pillar for Hashino in the coming years. The Aburame boy had laid on his side facing Hashino while keeping her hand held within his. Both deep in sleep having not stirred at Yumiko's presence. Taking the blanket she laid it over the two children.
Tsukino rubbed her eyes the feeling of grit heavy in them from all of the tears she had shed. She sat along on the bank of the Naka river trying unsuccessfully to stop them from coming again. It was useless.
"Kino." Hashirama called out softly to her. she quickly turned her face from him as he kneeled at her right. With one arm he pulled her flush against his side. They were silent with only the soft sniffles coming from Tsukino.
"Are you still friends with Madara?" she asked.
"Yes."
"Will he be here today?"
"Soon." Hashirama glanced down at his sister.
"I'm so tired of this bloodshed, brother." She stated barely above a whisper as she turned to watch chunks of icy water in the river move downstream. "No one will ever find happiness if we continue to kill each other."
He gave a small squeeze. "That's why I have a dream of doing just that. I want to build a village where both Uchiha and Senju can live together peacefully. No more fighting between us, no more loss, no more blood being spilled. We'll even see if other clans would join."
Tsukino laid her head into his chest with a sigh. "Sounds nice."
"Madara is also wanting that. We'll both work to that dream one day."
"I'll wait for that day to come, brother, I know you both will achieve it." She said. "What is the real reason for all of this hostility between us? All I know is they kill Senju, and we end up killing Uchiha in a cycle that doesn't seem to end. What started all of this?"
Hashirama shrugged. "We may not know the reason for the start, but we can be the ones to end it."
Footstep sounded causing the two siblings to find Madara making his way to them. Tsukino quickly shot up to tackle the older boy in a hug. He shot Hashirama a confused look. "Were still working over out brother's death." He answered earning a nod from the boy.
Madara looked down to the girl clinging to his midsection with face buried into the thick clothing he wore. With a thought he lightly push her to lean out from him finding puffy red eyes. "Would you like to spar a little? It might take your mind off of your brother for a bit." Her eyes widen. Anytime she came with Hashirama to see Madara she was never able to spar with the boy as he only wanted to spar with Hashirama. Madara only gave her a small smirk. "Unless your too scared to take on a more powerful shinobi."
Tsukino could only scuff pulling fully from the boy. Her puffy red eyes not helping the glare she sent him. "As if! Hashi seems to win more of your spars than you do Mada."
"Mada!?" Madara gave her a ticked look. She stuck her tongue out at him. "Yes, you are from now on known as Mada to me." With quick reflexes Tsukino flipped backwards several times from the punch he sent her. Soon the two were throwing punches and kicks while Hashirama sat on the side to watch them as the hour passed by.
Being smaller than Madara, Tsukino was able to get under some of his hits to jab her fists into his midsection in a one-two succession. He let out a whoosh of air at the impact surprised at the power behind it for her small size. Moving his arm he sent his elbow driving into her right shoulder. She gave a grunt of pain using her hands to take to weight of her body from the kinetic force that sent her down. Taking the movement Tsukino threw her legs up and over pushing with her arms from the ground to get the height needed.
Suddenly, Madara found his shoulders holding the weight of Tsukino as he glanced into her face feeling her lock her feet together at his back. With viper palm strikes he gave a cry to the blooming pain in his ears causing him to clench his eyes closed to the ringing. Gripping onto her upper thighs Madara slammed her to the rocking bank of the river. Tsukino growled out feeling the growing bruise on her back but through the pain she only tightened her thighs nearly chocking the boy as he lifted her up again making her take ahold of his hair to stay upright. His eyes slowly cracking open in that time with teeth grinding to the pulling pain to his hair that forced him to tilt his head back. He glared at her having to counterbalance the off-putting weight between them as she forced his head back making him take a few steps back.
Hashirama could only chuckle at the sight of his smaller sister being a monkey on Madara's shoulders. Both grunting and growling with neither giving way. That was until Tsukino tossed her upper body out, her locked legs bring Madara with in her motion bending of his hips. Her hands flung onto the ground as the muscles in her stomach worked to pull the heavier weight over her to fling him into the icy river. Righting herself she turned to see Madara do several front flips to right himself as well. A hand went up to an ear as he shook his head trying to dispel the ringing he still had.
"You good?" she asked him staying in a loose stance with her arms up her breath coming in and out as she waited.
"Yeah. Good hit." He returned walking back.
"Thanks. I use everything in a fight." Tsukino stated relaxing her stance as Madara flopped next to Hashirama. "How do you hit so hard for your size?" he asked raising a brow at her as she sat down. "Oh, well that's because I use these to help me." Tsukino held up and arm pulling down the arm warmer to show the weights. "Its helped with my speed and endurance." She gave a small smile at the two boys. "Thanks for the spar. It helped a little."
Madara tilted his body backwards to put his weight on his arms behind him with a half shrug. "It was a good spar. I am still better having more experience, but you did good for your age." Tsukino smiled a little more as Madara glanced her way with a smile himself. "I'll be up to spar with you again. Maybe to a three-way fight." He shifted his gaze to Hashirama. "Sound good?"
"Yes." Hashirama agreed before letting out a surprised yelp when Tsukino dived into his chest bring the both of them to the ground. His arms went around her body as tremors were felt coming from her. "I miss them so much, Hashi. I miss them both." Tsukino mumbled.
Hashirama rubbed her back gently continuing to stay laid out on the rivers bank. "I know Kino. I do too." The three lapsed into silence taking to watching the clouds pass by. "Come on, Kino, it's time to go back home." She let a grumble but sat up feeling the cold air rush at the lack of warmth from Hashirama. Rushing Tsukino gave Madara a hug before running after her brother waving behind her as she went. Madara could only stay frozen to his spot watching her go. "Bye Mada! See you next time!"
"Let your mother know ill be coming when summer hits." Tsukino stated helping the Aburame brothers pack for the trip home. "It's still cold at night so be sure to keep warm."
"We know how to travel, Tsukino." Kazuya replied gathering the bit of clothing he had.
She paused taking in the slight exasperated tone. She glanced to the boy with a weak apologetic smile. "Sorry Kazuya, it's a long way to the compound and I don't want anything to happen along the way. Too many other clans not allied with us that could ambush you."
"Our kikaichū will alert us." He replied easily. "How are the three doing that you have?"
Tsukino grinning. "Good, they found a place around my left shoulder to stay at. They seem to like that area of me." He nodded gluing his eyes to her left shoulder trying one last time to recall the three traitors back to him. All that came back was loud refusals from them causing his brows to narrow. "They still refusing to leave me?"
Turning his shaded eyes to Tsukino he nodded. "Loudly at that." She smiled at the disgruntled way he said it. "I'll take good care of them. Don't worry."
"I have not worried about their care in a long while. You have proven to care for them in the half year they have been with you." Kazuya replied taking his pack as Tsukino followed Amuro and him to the compounds gate where the other Senju siblings were waiting. With goodbyes given the brothers took to the trees heading back to their home.
The siblings then went their ways in tasks that were given to them within the clan. Hashino to make her rounds in gathering herbs, making ointments, and checking up on those that were sick. Tobirama going off to finish what items he was experimenting with in jutsus he was working on. Hashirama to find their father as more clan duties were being shifted over to him. Tsukino going to the training grounds to train more in using her kusarigama. Having found someone in the clan that knew how to use it Tsukino was quickly working to master but she still had a while to go before that could happen. Once done she went to work on her own jutsus now that progress came in the form of creating vines.
Taking the mixed hand sign that Tobirama helped her form she worked through several hand signs to end on that one. "Vine Release: Thorn Shield!" Thick green vine shot up in front of her intermingling each vine into a solid wall this one only being three feet wide and nearly reaching eight feet in height. Thorns covered one side of the wall of varying sizes.
"Impressive." Turning Tsukino found Tobirama studying the wall with several scrolls tucked under one arm. "Thank you. I've been working what I can make with the seal you helped me with. Took a while but I finally got it. Its not a sturdy as Hashi's wood release with the thicker bark and structure but it is flexible in its attacks. I even have a jutsu that creates bulbs that hover in the air to explode. I call that one Vine Release: Flower Bombard."
"You create vines and Hashirama creates wood." Tobirama stated glancing to Tsukino. "Do you need all three affinities?"
"Depends on the jutsu. If its ones that can be brought up through the ground just Earth and Water. For ones like Flower Bombard, I need my three affinities. Bombard also needs a hint of Fire. I'm working on mastering some fire jutsus to fully get that one completed as they only give a small explosion and not the bigger one I was going for."
"If you need help with any jutsus I will be willing to lend a hand when I get the time." Tobirama said turning away. With his sensing Tobirama was able to keep his balance when Tsukino ran into his back to give a tight hug. "Thank you big brother." Looking over his shoulder to her he could only give a small smirk. Since Itama's death Tsukino had become more clingy to her remaining siblings with affection more than usual.
Turning to kneel Tobirama bump his forehead to hers, red eyes gazing into each other. "You don't need to worry about me, little sister."
"I can't help it."
"I know." He stated pulling back. "You still have us." Tsukino nodded her head her hands finding the handle of her katana. With a quick ruffle of her hair Tobirama turned back around to continue to where he had been heading.
A few days later, Tsukino set out to find Hashirama as it was time to meet up with Madara. "Hashi!" she called out once she found him jumping onto his back. He did a full stop carefully setting Tsukino on the ground half turning to her. "Sorry Kino, you can't come today."
"What why?" she asked confused. "But Mada and I were going to try a few fighting stances out today. We were going to see how flexible he was compared to me."
He gave her a stern look. "I said not today, Kino." Turning he continued to leave jumping into the trees when he exited the gate. Tsukino being a sibling didn't listen and swiftly followed jumping in front of Hashirama. His stern look grew harsher. "Tsukino, you need to stay in the compound today." That made her look at him weirdly as he used her full name. "What is going on Hashi? Why can't I go?" Hashirama suitably glanced over his shoulder before looking at her. "Tsukino, stay in the compound. Please."
She stayed put stunned as he took off once more. It was rare when Hashirama demanded in such a way. Something happened and she didn't know what that could be, but it may have been something to do with Madara. Why else would he be harsh to her in wanting Tsukino to stay when they've always met up with Madara or at least only this last year when she went along. Clinching a fist she decided on following Hashirama and would deal with the punishment later. When she reached the river she found them on either side of the river.
When she found Madara turning with a wave she leaped out of the tree. "Wait Mada! Where are you going!?" Madara's eyes widen as his gaze snapped to Tsukino as she ran a crossed the river. Hashirama shouting for her to get back fear clear in his voice. If she hadn't been born with her sensoring ability she would not have been able to dodge the song of a katana sword swinging past her cheek. Not having expected the need to dodge she tripped into a roll gathering water as she went, her chakra allowed her keep atop the surface. Her scalp went on fire as a hand roughly pulled on her hair forcing Tsukino to her feet and hands to grab to limb in order to dislodge it.
Hashirama watched as Tsukino cried out in pain by the male that was an older Madara as his father and brother took a stance facing the other two. His heart beat hard in his chest as the scene played out. Tsukino eyeing everything she could as best as she could finding her father and brother looking to her. Tobirama trying to hide his fear while Butsuma gave nothing away.
With another pained cry she was turned to look into the red eyes of a man she's never seen but knew just from the eyes he was an Uchiha. She could feel he was curious of her seeing the similarity between her and Tobirama. Having heard of Butsuma's daughters he figured this was one of them. "Well, Butsuma, seems I've snag one of your children. Here I thought I would be able to get rid of another son of yours today but looks like my target has switched."
Tsukino grunted shifting to try and release some of the pressure on her scalp. Tajima glancing her way but went back to looking at Butsuma. "You want your daughter back Butsuma? Knowing you already have an arrangement for her hand she'd be a valuable piece for your clan."
Butsuma looked to Tsukino as she grunted again at the jerking Tajima did to emphasize. "She is worthless to me. Kill her." Tsukino froze in shock, staring at her father. Tajima seemingly surprised by the response as well quickly glancing to the girl he held plainly seeing the shock and hurt. "I see…you hold no love for this child of yours." Tajima quickly lifted his katana and stabbed into her left shoulder. Tsukino screamed kicking her feet at the older man as she felt the blood flow down her chest. She barely heard named being shouted out by several as pain took over Tsukino's senses more when the katana was pulled free. She was then dropped into the river.
