(Chapter 13)
(Past)
Samantha stood on her tippy toes as she looked at the statue on Edmund's desk. The figure was slightly scary because of the robot's serious expression, but she wanted to look at it. However, Edmund told her just a few days ago that these were not toys, but she was young and curious. Using her tiny hands, she reached out and grabbed the scary statue.
"He looks so angry," Samantha said as she looked at the statue. "Hehe! He has a little blaster!" Mounted on the statue's back was a giant cannon facing upwards. Edmund called the strange statue N.B.E~something, but she couldn't remember. She went back to the table and tried to put the figure back, but it was too heavy. "HM! C'mon! Almost~got… it." Sliding the statue back, she knocked something off the other side.
Samantha looked around, scared that she had broken something, "Oh~no… nonono~please don't be broken. Mommy will be so mad." Her mother was terrifying, especially when she got angry. She ran around the table and picked up a different statue with colors on it. "Eeww! Ewie! Gross! I hate pink!" The strange robotic woman was pink, and its shade was burning her innocent eyes. Samantha dropped the statue and shivered, "Aww~I don't wanna touch that." But if she didn't put it back, her grandfather would know she was snooping. Grabbing the statue, Samantha attempted to avert her eyes from the horrible shade of pink. After a struggling endeavor to put the figure back, Samantha sighed.
"Up to no good, I see, Miss Witwicky?" Samantha jumped and turned around. Cogman was standing there waving his finger. "Normally, I would be inclined to tell the master of your behavior; however, I suppose I can allow it this once."
"Please don't tell my mom. She'll be angry! Please don't! Please!" She begged.
Cogman chuckled as he quickly picked the child up and put her on the table. "Now why would I tattle on you, Sweet Girl? Though I must warn you that curiosity killed the cat… Actually, I did after the rotten thing scratched my armor, but that is beside the point."
"Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" Samantha cutely hugged her robotic friend.
Cogman was incredibly smug, "Yes, no need to worry. If you are curious, might I interest you in the watch that killed Hitler?" Samantha let go of him as he grabbed a glass case with a pocket watch inside. The vicious deceive was shouting as it woke up. Its red optics narrowed in on the child.
"Hehe~he is adorable!" The cybertronian watch was shouting. It was not adorable! He was to be feared!
"Irritating is a better word, in my opinion." Cogman put the case down. "Ugh! Dear girl, please tell me you did not touch that statue!" He hadn't realized before that Samantha had picked up the small statue of Elita-One.
Samantha nodded, "I did… I'm sorry." She thought he was mad at her, "I didn't mean to. Besides, I hate the color pink. It's gross!"
Cogman sighed for effect, "Thank, Primus, I have taught you well. Yes, pink is a vile color. Never forget that. Now let me see your hands. They must be sanitized at once!"
The little girl giggled as she presented her hands. Cogman shot a mist from his fingertip as he literally washed her hands. "Grandpa told me I had to watch out for her… is she mad at me?" Cogman froze and attempted to process her question.
"She is not someone you need to concern yourself with. You are too innocent for her."
"But… I don't want anyone to be angry at me. Did I do something wrong?" Cogman clenched his fist. Keeping himself silent from this innocent child was easily the most challenging thing he had ever done. Not to mention he loathed having Samantha think she did something wrong. There was not an ounce of evil intent in her entire body. Samantha wasn't spoiled, she always tried to make new friends, and her curiosity was an adorable sight.
"I can promise you, Child, that you have done nothing wrong. Now should she ever bother you, I expect you to come straight to me, is that clear." Samantha glanced at the statue and nodded before giggling.
"Maybe when I am big and strong, I can protect you." She chirped. Cogman was her closest friend and always watched her back.
Cogman gasped as if he were offended, "Now this I cannot have! I am fully at your service, Miss Witwicky. It is my duty to protect you."
Samantha smiled and blushed at his kind words, "Do you promise we'll always be friends?"
For once, Cogman was at a loss for words, "Um~well… you see." The moment he saw the hurt look in her eyes because of the timid response, he immediately nodded, "Yes! Of course! Now please do not cry, dear child." He may be a sociopath, but his spark could never handle such a sight. Only once had he ever seen Samantha cry, and it took Ron, Judy, and him to pull Edmund away from Samantha's Uncle. Charlie had not been watching his language and accidentally called Samantha a half-breed. It was a dark day for the Witwicky family.
"Pinky promise?" She lifted her pinky and smiled.
Cogman decided to follow along, "Yes, I shall follow through with this pinky promise." The two made a promise. As their pinkies pulled apart, a golden wisp of light escaped Samantha's fingertip and wrapped around Cogman's finger before disappearing.
(Present Day, England)
Edmund sighed as he pinched the bridge of his nose, "Good god… Well… are they dead!? What the bloody hell do you mean the dam collapsed!? I explicitly ordered you to not destroy the dam or interfere."
Cogman fiddled with his internal phone as he watched Megatron and Shockwave get washed away, "Sir, I swear to you this is not my fault." He'd been sent to the US on Edmund's request.
"For Merlin's sake… are they dead?" Edmund asked again.
In the distance, Cogman could see Megatron and his fellow Decepticons clawing their way out of the rushing water. "Barley, My Lord. Shall I finish them off?"
"Are you barking mad!? No, you Tin Can! If they die, we might as well hang ourselves now. Just make certain they don't die. And do make sure to bring back that Prime with you."
(Base of the Dam)
Megatron dug into the ground as he clawed his way out of the rushing water, "Starscream!" The large Decepticon attempted to contact the seeker, who was currently chasing the Allspark's signal, but the water had damaged his comm-link. It was his immediate assumption that this was the seeker's fault.
Shockwave clawed his way from the water, his yellow optic burning brightly, "Can this day become any more bothersome?" Barricade was beside him and holding onto his shoulder as it had become managed when he was dragged under by the water.
"What in the name of Primus caused that? Are these humans so pathetic that they can't assemble a simple dam?" Barricade growled.
Shockwave stared at the mech, "That dam was composed almost entirely of concrete… it should not have collapsed spontaneously."
"Why are you muttering about!? Get the All Spark, Fools!" Megatron roared at his incompetent companions. They couldn't start wondering how the dam collapsed. The Autobots had the All Spark. Megatron jumped into the air and transformed into a cybertronian jet before launching off. As for the rest of them, Barricade and Soundwave transformed and quickly followed after their leader. However, Soundwave made a 90 degree turned went toward the Dam. His sparklings were still there, and he refused to leave without them.
The only mech that hadn't moved was Shockwave, who analyzed the dam as water continued to pour from it, "This is completely illogical." The mech growled before transforming into a tank and took off. His spiked treads allowed him to climb up the steep incline. High above, a helicopter flew over and started shooting at him, but they were nothing more than drops of water on his armor. Shockwave growled before maneuvering his cannon and shot the helicopter. There was a large explosion as the chopper crashed into the ground. "Bothersome organics."
(Hoover Dam, Interior)
"How are we gonna communicate? Do we have a hand radio or headphones?" Glen asked as he looked around.
"Headphones?" Simmons asked with horrified realization, "No~no~NO!" The humans in the room were panicking as they searched for something to communicate with the Air Force.
Maggie searched the table and came across a rustic computer, "Glen? What about this?"
"What about it?" Glen asked as he panicked.
"Morse code!" She explained her plan.
As the humans panicked and attempted to hook up the computer to the radio, Rumble and Frenzy were standing at the edge of the table, looking at Glen as he worked on the computer.
Glen glanced at the mini-robots that barely reached the edge of the desk, "Hey, uh~these freaky robots are lookin' at me! Whatcha~doing? Ow!" The keyboard zapped him as Frenzy walked behind the monitor and connected to it. Raising his hand over the desk, Frenzy presented his finger to the human and toggled it like a switch. "These robots are doin' something! I~I don't get it!"
Everyone came over and looked at Frenzy as he kept toggling his finger. "What are you trying to say?" Simmons practically shouted in a panic.
"Does he need to go to the bathroom?" Glen asked in confusion.
Maggie sighed, "No! Don't you see!? He's acting as a switch for you. So we can contact the Air Force." Bending down, she tapped on Frenzy's finger, and a distinct clicking sound could be heard from the Decepticon. He gladly would have opened a channel for them, but since they were so focused on using morse code, he decided to help. Samantha was going to be so proud of him!
As for Rumble, he was near the table across from them and looking at a strange stick locked inside a glass case. It was extracted from Archibald's arctic expedition. Simmons marched over and took the wand, then placed it on the opposite table, "No~no~no, this is not a toy! Nope! This is Sector 7 property!" Rumble tilted his head before kicking Agent Simmons in the knee. "Gah! What the hell!?"
Maggie looked over, "What now?"
"Ask the robot who kicked me in the knee! You little~" Before Simmons could shout, everyone stopped when they heard the main doors to the room rattle. "What the hell was that noise?" It was unnaturally quiet behind the door, and it rattled again.
As something loud pounded on the door, Maggie jumped back, "What is that?"
Everyone screamed as a green bolt of light shot through the door's cracks and hit Glen's keyboard, "Ahh!" Glen looked at his broken keyboard, "What was that!?"
"Quick! Barricade the door!" Simmons shouted and ran over to hold the doors shut. Secretary Keller ran over to a glass case and smashed it before grabbing a shotgun.
"Ah! Keep the door shut!" The director of sector seven shouted. Simmons and Maggie were pushing on the door.
"Is it just me, or is this door heating up?" Simmons asked as his hands started to burn.
"Out of the way!" Keller aimed the shotgun between the doors as they opened. Nothing but a wall of black mist was on the other side. He fired a few shots, and the fog retreated, allowing them to shut the doors.
"What was that?" Maggie asked, completely startled.
"We need to seal these doors," Simmons stated. "Quick, get me that table and… what the hell are you doing!?"
The blue minicon walked over and flicked his finger open like a lighter. From the base of the door, he started wielding the space between.
Maggie sighed, "He's welding the door. Here… help me lift him. He's not tall enough to reach the top of the door." Simmons helped her as they grabbed Rumble and lifted him up. The minicon made quick work of wielding the door.
Simmons looked back, "How is the message going back there!? Our little friend is back!" There was a mysterious sound behind the door.
"This isn't easy!" Glen shouted as he comedically used Frenzy's finger like a switch. After a minute, a message appeared on the monitor next to him, "The Air Force! They're responding!" Keller quickly ran over and gave him his credentials. As he finished sending the message, everyone froze and looked up towards the ventilation.
Simmons shook his head, "Oh, this is not good. Everyone, get down!" As a black entity exploded from the vent, everyone dropped to the ground when the fog filled the room. Through the chaos, they could hear Glen's girly scream.
"Grandma, I'm sorry!" There was an audible smack as Frenzy slapped the human across the face. He was irritating him. The mist in the room slowly contracted, and everyone slowly stood. The fog made a harrowing scream in the center of the room before an older-looking man appeared. He had a white beard and was wearing dark robes. His cheeks were slightly sunken in, and he looked sick.
"On the ground, now!" The Director of Sector Seven shouted as he raised his gun.
Archibald looked over and frowned, "Fire that boomstick at me, and it will be the last thing you ever do."
Not heeding his warning, the Director started unloading his clip. The bullets pierced Archibald's skin, and the man stumbled before rising back to his feet. "That's not possible." He should be dead. Several of those bullets went through his head.
"I warned you." Closing his first, the Director gasped as his airway closed.
Everyone backed up and screamed as the Director's bones started to break, and blood poured out of his face. "Shit!" Simmons shouted as his boss collapsed to the floor and underwent a painful transformation. Transmogrifian torture was a severe form of transfiguration magic that was outlawed. The man was shouting in agony as his muscles were warped and his insides boiled. Archibald flicked his wrist, and the man's screaming fell silent as his neck snapped and blood poured onto the floor. His bones had transformed into that of different creatures, and fur was partly covering his face.
Maggie screamed as she witnessed everything before ducking behind a desk. Rumble watched what happened to the human male and hid behind her. It was a horrifying sight to see for anyone.
Scanning the room, Archibald walked over towards Glen, who was right against the table. "H~How did you do that? Shit! Please don't kill me!" Glen shouted. Frenzy was hiding under the desk and shaking. From his position, he could see the dead director, whose body was a mangled mess. He didn't want that to happen to him. Just because he was Cybertronian didn't mean he couldn't be scared.
Archibald was standing right in front of Glen, who was on the verge of peeing himself. "Then do what he failed to and heed my warnings. Now move from the table."
"Y~Ya! Okay, Man!" Glen quickly ran from the table and went to Maggie.
Archibald looked down at the table and saw his wand locked away inside a glass container. Waving his hand, the glass vanished. Beneath the table, Frenzy was holding his head and shaking. The scary human was right in front of him! He wanted Samantha to be here and tell him everything would be alright. She understood her own kind and would keep him safe.
Rumble was shaking as well as he tugged Maggie's shoulder and pointed under the table towards his brother. "What am I supposed to do? Who the hell is that?" Peeking up, she saw the tiny robot Samantha told her to watch. The poor robot was obviously scared, and so was she. This man magically made the Director of Sector 7 die a gruesome death.
Archibald grabbed his wand and looked it over, "It has been too long, my old friend." Flourishing his wand, all the furniture in the room levitated off the ground. Everyone screamed in shock. Frenzy was shaking like a leaf as the table he was hiding under floated up. Archibald was looking directly at him and sneered. "Filthy machine. Cowering will not save you. You are all just the same."
Just as Archibald aimed his wand at Frenzy, a book hit him in the head. "Leave him alone!" Maggie shouted as she shook in her boots.
Archibald shook his head, "Don't tell me you feel sympathy for these machines. Nothing but cogs and metal. Hit me again, and you will suffer a worse death than that muggle other. I do not take joy in killing muggles. But I will not have you stand in my way, Little Girl."
Simmons was hiding behind a stone column on the opposite side of the room. 'Shit! Shit! He's actually here! What the fuck am I supposed to do?' There was no mistake that the man was Archibald Witwicky. Secretary Keller was behind a column opposite of him, loading a few slugs into his shotgun. However, Agent Simmons was silently shouting at him to stop. 'Damn it! He is going to get us killed!' Bolting from his position, he quickly tackled Keller before he could fire the gun at Archibald. "You're going to get us killed!"
Archibald turned away from Maggie and waved his wand. A noose appeared from thin air and wrapped around Simmon's neck, dangling him in thin air. He was struggling to breathe as he gripped the rope.
"Ah! Oh my god!" Glen shouted in fear. As Archibald walked over to the other side of the room, Maggi ran around and grabbed Frenzy's hand.
Archibald waved his hand, and Simmons was slammed onto the table, gasping for air. "Do not get involved. But I am impressed by your willingness, Young Man, to protect me. For that, I will let you live."
Secretary Keller aimed his shotgun at Archibald and fired. The man stumbled back as half his face was destroyed. However, the wizard was still standing. Keller was shaking his head, "What the hell are you?"
Archibald violently turned back and flourished his wand. The man shouted as he was magically lifted by his feet and dangled upside down. Archibald closed his hands together and concentrated his magic… from beneath his cloak, a series of sharp silver wires slithered out. They looked similar to barbed wire, except the metal seemed to have a chrome-like shine. They were also sharper than anyone could possibly imagine.
"Oh god!" Keller tried to grab onto something, but he was helpless as the wires violently wrapped around his body. Maggie and Glen screamed as Keller was torn to shreds by these silver wires. They were creeping under his flesh, ripping him apart from the inside. His screams were haunting.
Rumble and Frenzy were peaking over the desk and shaking. This human was terrifying, and neither fancied the idea of fighting him.
Simmons sat up and shouted, "Fuck!" He was terrified as he watched Keller become stripped of his flesh. Blood was already dripping to the ground along with chunks of skin. Archibald waved his wand, and the noose, which was still wrapped around his neck, was tugged by an invisible force. Simmons struggled and gasped as the noose dragged him off the table and towards the door. The doors were blown off their hinges as Simmons was carried away from this nightmare.
Glen was shaking like a leaf, "Where do we go? Oh shit! Shit! Shit! Shit!" He dropped to the floor and hid from Archibald. "I don't wanna die… I don't wanna die!"
Maggi looked around and was hyperventilating, "Glen… Glen!" She shook her friend and pointed to a large vent. They looked at each other before bolting over. However, they briefly stopped and ran back to grab the two robots, who were more terrified than them. "Quick, help me with this." The two humans grabbed the corner of the vent and pulled with all their might. Their adrenaline made it easy for them to remove the panel from the wall and break the rusted screws holding it in place. "Let's go. Quickly!" Rumble and Frenzy followed Glen, with Meggi being the last person to crawl into the vent.
As they crawled through the ventilation system, they could still hear Keller crying in agony. How was he not dead yet?
(Desert Road)
Samantha was panicking as she masked the side of the Allspark with her hand. 'He is going to kill me! Optimus is going to kill me! What if he shouts at me?' The idea of a mech like him shouting at her was a terrifying thought. "Optimus, where are we going?"
"Given our current situation, it would be best for us to follow the other humans. We need to extract the Allspark and get it far away from the Decepticons." Optimus explained as he traveled down the road.
"Optimus, please forgive me for questioning you. I know you're brilliant when it comes to battles. But you'll cause a panic if this fight enters the city. Not to mention they can track the Allspark's signal."
"I understand your concern. And I am not keen on putting the lives of humans in danger; however, given this city's vast size and sprawling interiors, the Decepticons will not be able to locate the precise location of the Allspark." While the cube gave off an unimaginable power level, it also disrupted short-ranged scanners. "Prowl and Sunstreaker will bring in our extraction to the Ark. Its stealth drives should be able to mask the Allspark's signal." The only way back onto the Ark was through the ship's small cargo vessel.
Samantha nodded, "Alright, I trust you." This was Optimus. In the brief time she knew him, he radiated an intelligent and battle-hardened mech. If he had a plan, then she would follow it. 'I don't want to give them the Allspark, but I can't let it stay in the city.' She was forced to take a side, and she didn't like it.
Optimus's spark rumbled. He was still in shock from Mikaela's cruel attempt at a joke. The thought of Samantha being torn open like a lab rat made his spark burn with rage. "I will need you to escort the Allspark to our designated rendezvous point."
"Because? Why don't one of you take it?" She could not express her adamant opinion on remaining neutral.
"The Allspark's raw energy is too extreme for one of us to hold for an extended amount of time. However, given your form as a human, the energy from the cube will not overload your servos."
Samantha sighed, "Alright. Let's just get the Allspark away from Earth." All the while, she was nervous about the scar on the side of the Allspark. She blinked several times and shook her head as ancient runes and symbols she didn't recognize filled her sight. 'I'm too tired for this.'
As they drove closer to the city, Optimus went faster as he maneuvered past the slow drivers. "I am grateful that you are well, Samantha."
Samantha knew he was guilty about abandoning her, "Optimus, ignore Mikaela. I don't know why she'd make a joke like that, but I am fine. You did what you had to, and I'm not mad." She knew it wasn't an easy choice for him. In the time she has known Optimus, allowing someone he knew to get captured obviously hurt his spark.
"Nevertheless, I shall not make the same mistake again by allowing you to get taken in such a manner. You have my word."
Samantha glances at the steering wheel with a sad smile, "Please don't make promises like that. If something does happen, I don't want you to feel regret. There is more at stake than the life of a single human." From what both the Autobots and Decepticons told her, their planet would remain a wasteland without the Allspark. At this point, she wanted to make certain it was returned to their world. As for who got the Allspark was for fate to decide, but she was not going to run up to a Decepticon and simply hand it over. She'd follow Optimus's orders and deliver to their ship, which was cloaked somewhere in the city.
"Samantha, you okay, little femme? You sort of gave us the scare back there." Jazz said through the comm-link.
"I'm alright, Jazz. If anyone is wondering," She knew the comm-link was open to them all, "The All Spark is fine. Where is this rendezvous point?" After getting the street name, Samantha sighed. "Great. This is going to be a disaster."
Looking in the rearview mirror, Samantha noticed several vehicles chasing after them. One of them was a police cruiser. The same one that attacked her. 'I think Soundwave said his name was Barricade.' She lightly tapped Optimus's seat, "Optimus, behind us. The black police cruiser."
"Autobots, keep the Decepticons occupied."
"Now is my time to shine! I've been itching for a fight since I got on this rock." Suntreaker said.
Samantha knew what was likely to happen and quickly leaned to the radio, "Please watch out for drivers. Some have small children in their cars." There were going to be casualties because of this horrible plan.
"Hold on, Samantha." a construction vehicle was trailing behind Optimus and started Transforming. Optimus transformed, and Samantha gasped as she was tossed into the air.
"Whoa!" Samantha was caught last minute by Bumblebee as he partly transformed and caught the femme as Optimus fought the Decepticon in the middle of the road.
Mikaela looked in the rearview mirror and gasped, "Holy crap!" Bullets were now starting to shell onto Bee's armor.
Samantha rubbed her head as she got severe whiplash from getting caught in the air. The Allspark was still wrapped around her arms. "Ugh… I hate when you guys do that." She said miserably. Both women ducked as Bumblebee's back window shattered, and bullets flew past their heads.
"Any time, Bumblebee!" Samantha shouted at the mech, who wasn't firing back. "Here, hold this!" She tossed the Allspark to Mikaela and slid her wand out.
Samantha flourished her wand, getting up briefly, and a white blast hit the Decepticon who was trailing them. The giant mech howled as he ran into an invisible wall and transformed. Bumblebee transformed his hood and shot at the other Decepticon who was beside them.
"Nice shot, little femme!" Jazz had seen Samantha's spell completely confused the Decepticon. His chest plate was a wreck from how hard he crashed into the enchantment.
Samantha laughed sarcastically, "Thanks! But I would feel safer if they weren't shooting at me." The Decepticon who was driving beside them rammed into the side of Bumblebee. Bumblebee's bullets weren't hurting the con in the slightest. "For crying out loud!" She unrolled the window and quickly aimed out the door. A stream of light shot into the air above the Decepticon, and a dark cloud was conjured.
"What in the name of Primus!?" Barricade stopped ramming into Bumblebee when he saw the femme wave that cursed stick into the air. Suddenly… a golden arrow shot straight through Barricade's window and pierced his seat. Then another hit his headlight. "Gah! Make it stop!" Barricade was swerving through the road as a legion of golden arrows fell from the dark cloud above him.
Mikaela peeked up to see the carnage of mystical arrows raining onto the street. Several arrows phased through Bumblebee, which caused the woman to jump, "Jesus, Sam! A little warning?"
Barricade shouted in pain as an arrow shot into his tire and caused him to swerve out of control. The Decepticon ended up Transforming and crashing straight into the underside of a bridge. Landing on his back, Barricade looked up at the dark cloud following him. He shut his optics as an army of countless arrows shot toward him. He didn't know how but his spark would be snuffed out by a human. When he felt nothing, the Decepticon opened his optics and saw that the arrows had stopped and were floating above him. "What in the name of Primus is this human?" Unfortunately for him, the rest of the Autobots raced past him as they continued further into the city.
The arrows pressed closer towards him and barely grazed his armor when he tried to get up. "Scrap." Looking back at the devastation they'd left on the road, Barricade grumbled. Humans were running away in terror. There was a loud explosion from above as a helicopter was shot down by a powerful cannon. The sound of tank tracks could be heard. But Barricade already knew who was approaching.
Shockwave stopped in front of Barricade and transformed. The Decepticon scientist tilted his head as he studied the floating arrows trained on Barricade. "And what is this?"
Barricade frowned at the Decepticon scientists, "Do I look like I fragging know!? That… grrrr! That human femme did this to me!" He was trapped in a sphere of floating arrows that could pierce his armor like butter. He was utterly worthless now! A beam of light ran over Barricade, causing him to look in disbelief, "Are you running scans!? Get me out of this thing!"
Shockwave ignored Barricade as he forgot his original mission. "No magnetic field or reversed polarity. What a fascinating human indeed." These arrows were floating without any assistance or magnetic fields. Shockwave had never seen something so diabolically marvelous. "What was the human femme doing at the exact moment this cloud appeared over you?"
Barricade growled, "Are you an idiot!? You're asking these questions right now! Get the Allspark."
Shockwave lifted his cannon and aimed it at Barricade's head, "I do not care for the Allspark anymore. My vision is grander than anything you could fathom in a millennium. Now explain everything you witness, or I will extract your processor and forcefully reap your hard drives." Shockwave was impressed by this human. And this was no small feat. He had never seen such defiant acts against everything he knew about science in hundreds of thousands of years. This human was not like the rest, and her abilities were fascinating. He needed to know what this power was. 'It has been eons since I willingly sought out an individual for a conversation.'
Before the Great War, Shockwave was a senator on the Cybertronian council. He founded several famous science institutions for their species and was regarded as a genius throughout Cybertron. During the start of the war, he knew the current council he served was corrupt with fascist mechs. However, he did not care for other Cybertronians or those who toiled in the energon mines. He only joined the Decepticons because they allowed him an arsenal of scientific machinery and resources the council would never fund. They cared more about strip mining a new asteroid and sponsoring the Ibex Cup.
(Hoover Dam)
Glen and Maggie were crawling for what seemed like an eternity. Keller's screams eventually stopped… or they were too far away to hear. But neither turned back because they knew nothing could save him.
"Hey! I see something!" Glen shouted as he saw sunlight poking through one of the vents. Crawling faster, they reached a large vent cover and pushed on it. After struggling, they popped the vent off, and it went crashing down the hillside into the river. They were just outside Hoover Dam and could see hundreds of gallons of water pouring out of the broken dam, flooding the valley below.
Maggie squeezed through, "Okay, we need to climb up the hill." The hillside was at a steep incline, so they had to be careful as they got up. Otherwise, they'd risk plummeting to their death in the rushing water.
"No! No way!" Glen was shaking his head. Inside the vent, they could hear a strange sound near the far back. "Me first!" Glen got out of the duct and started climbing up. "Ow! Hey, I'm not a taxi!" Rumble jumped onto his back and held onto him as he climbed up.
"Just climb, Glen!" Maggie shouted as she crawled up the incline with Frenzy holding onto her.
As the two friends reached the top of the hill, they collapsed to the ground. Glen was laughing, "We made it!" Maggie sat up and was covering her face as she cried, both out of fear and joy. What they witnessed would scare anyone. Their moment of peace was short-lived as the ground shook.
Maggie looked back and saw a robot with white and blue armor aiming a blaster at them. He also had a red visor covering his optics. "Oh my god." She put her hands up, praying the Cybertronian didn't kill her.
Soundwave motioned his gun to the side, signaling for the human to move, "Rumble, Frenzy: Return." He ordered his minicons.
Rumble and Frenzy, instead of jumping into Soundwave's chest plate, ran towards his large foot and hugged it. Both his sparklings were shaking in fear. Soundwave's visor had a brilliant glow as he immediately aimed his blaster back at the humans.
Glen shouted, "Ah! Take her!" He hid behind Maggie. Before Soundwave could pull the trigger, his sparklings jumped up and shouted at him in an unrecognizable language. Soundwave listened to his sparklings as they advocated for the humans. Especially Maggie, who saved Frenzy from some 'human monster,' as his sparklings described him.
Soundwave lowered his blaster and picked his sparklings up. He transformed and quickly drove away. Despite Megatron's orders to get the Allspark, his priority was focused on protecting his sparklings. The two minicons had been through enough.
Maggie sighed, "Glen, he's gone. You can let go of me now."
Glen stood up, "Oh! Right." She hit him in the shoulder, "Ah! What was that for?"
"Using me as a shield?"
"You seemed bigger than usual." She hit him again. "Ah! I mean… you were just there~so… you know."
Meggie sighed, "We need to leave." They had only gotten a mile before a helicopter started circling around them, and several men jumped out.
Glen pointed at Maggie, "She did it!"
"Glen, shut up!" Maggie pinched the bridge of her nose as they were detained again. These men weren't with Sector 7.
(Mission City)
Samantha and Mikaela were tense as they raced through the city. The Decepticons were still after them. 'I hope Optimus is okay.' She saw him get tackled off a bridge, and they'd lost sight of him. "Darn it, I can't hold it anymore." Samantha held her head.
"What's wrong? Did you get hit?" Mikaela asked as she leaned over.
"No… the spell I cast. I was trying to keep that Decepticon contained but… grrr… it's draining." Samantha recited a word Mikaela could never hope to pronounce and lifted the spell on Barricade. "We'll have more company in a few minutes. Sorry, Bumblebee, but I wasn't expecting to go this far into the city." The greater the distance from her spell, the more magic she forced through her bond with the enchanted arrow. Meanwhile, Shockwave was displeased, to say the least.
"You vile miscreant! What did you do!? Think of the research I have now lost!" Shockwave was utterly furious as the arrow faded away. He blamed the mech trapped by the arrows for this travesty.
"I didn't do scrap!" Barricade shouted.
Shockwave forced Barricade against the bridge wall and trained his cannon at the mech's head, "You will address me properly. Bring me that human, or I will have you as my next test subject. Do not test my patience."
"You're crazy! We're after the Allspark. Lord Megatron~"
"Silence," Shockwave said coldly. "This does not concern Megatron. You will listen to my command. Bring me the human. And if you so much as kill her… your death will be my finest achievement to science. I desire her in pristine condition. Shall we?" He transformed and kept his cannon aimed at Barricade. It would be unwise for the mech to disobey his orders. Shockwave was just as powerful as Megatron.
Back in Mission City, chaos was slowly boiling as cars stopped and giant robots fell from the bridges. Optimus tackled Bonecrusher, and both went tumbling over onto the road below. A mother slammed on her breaks and panicked as she saw giant robots fighting.
"Gaaah!" Bonecrusher shouted as Optimus picked him up and threw him over the bridge towards the ground.
The young boy in the car was smiling and turned to his mother, "Cool, Mom!"
Optimus landed on the ground and narrowly missed Bonecrusher's blade. Upon arriving on Earth, he had taken the form of a buffalo minesweeper. "Gah! I hate you!" He lunged his blade at Optimus, who quickly dodged and unsheathed a sword from his arm. When Bonecrusher attempted to come around the pillar and attack Optimus, the Prime quickly stabbed his neck cable and grabbed his helm before crushing it. "I hate you! Vile, Autobot! I hate you!"
"Be silent." Optimus lifted Bonecrusher's head and swiftly lodged his blade into the Decepticon's lower jaw. He ripped Bonecrusher's helm off and dropped it to the ground with incredible force. Optimus attempted to locate his fellow Autobots by doing a quick survey of his surroundings. "Prowl, transmit your coordinates to me immediately." After getting the location of the other Autobots, he transformed and drove off towards the heart of Mission City.
(Mission City)
"W~what am I supposed to do with these?" Epps asked as Lennox tossed him a radio.
"Use them! It's all we got." Lennox shouted as he climbed back into the vehicle.
Lennox looked back and noticed Bumblebee turning the corner. A series of other cars were following them, "Sam!" He waved his hand and signaled for them to follow. After turning onto a three-way intersection, they got out of their vehicles.
Samantha got out of Bumblebee and kept the cube tight in her arms, "Bumblebee, wait here." Heading towards Lennox, she tapped his shoulder as soldiers started laying out green smoke, "Is that really a wise idea? We're not the only ones looking for the cube." The sound of jets could be heard from their location, 'Lose them in the city, my ass! This smoke is going to give us away.'
"We're going to get the cube extracted," Lennox said but froze when Samantha marched in front of him.
"Listen to me!" Samantha had her mother's glare, "The Decepticons are capable of flight. This cube is a giant beacon. It doesn't matter how far you take it. They'll find it. I need to get this cube to their shuttle. We need to get this off Earth."
Lennox glanced back, "Their? Are they all?"
Samantha motioned her hands to the cars around them, "This is Ratchet, Ironhide, Jazz, Sideswipe, Sunstreaker; don't touch him, and you know Bumblebee and Prowl. We ran into a few Decepticons on the way here. Optimus, their leader, is a little preoccupied." Besides them, Epps was trying to contact the Air Force. Samantha looked overhead and saw a red jet fly with incredible speed between two buildings. The jet was able to maneuver itself in ways that no ordinary human aircraft could. It was almost mesmerizing to see such talent as the plane flew low and seemed to show off. However, Samantha knew this Decepticon was circling around them… he was analyzing the area and terrain.
Ironhide transformed, much to Samantha's dismay, "It's Starscream!"
Mikaela pinched the bridge of her nose, "There goes our element of surprise." People on the sidewalk were running away in fear as the Autobots transformed.
When Sunstreaker transformed, he covered his audio receptors, "Ugh! Will you humans stop screaming!?" This only made the ones closest to him scream louder as they ran away. He regretted admitting this to himself, but he quickly realized Samantha was remarkably composed for a human.
"Quit standing around! Get moving!" Ironhide shouted at Sunstreaker.
Sunstreaker laughed and rolled his joint, "You kiddin' I'm one of the Magnificent Six. I'm always ready for a fight."
Jazz transformed, "Just remember who is the best of our old group." He said with a grin while pulling out a large blaster.
Sideswipe rolled his optics, "Quit showing off!" He shouted at his brother. He always loathed when he brought up how he used to be a part of the Magnificent Six. They were a group of Autobots composed of Jazz, Sunstreaker, Prowl, Wheeljack, Inferno, and Stampede. On Cybertron, they took on special operations that would be suicide to any average mech.
"No~no~no! Move!" Lennox shouted as he grabbed Samantha's arm. Bumblebee and Ironhide lifted up a truck and used it as a quick shield against a pair of missiles as Starscream fired at them.
"Back up! Back up!" Ironhide shouted at the humans who were too close to them. The soldiers in the armored vehicles were quickly mobilizing. Samantha and Mikaela followed Lennox and Epps as they took cover. The missile hit the truck and caused a powerful explosion that sent shrapnel and the two Autobots flying.
Samantha kept the cube tight to her chest as he landed next to Lennox. Their ears were ringing. She waved her hand across her ear, "Episkey." She winced as her eardrums were instantly healed. Looking at both Lennox and Epps, she quickly recited the spell again. Both of the soldiers winced as their ears popped and the ringing stopped. Turning her head, Samantha gasped as she realized Bumblebee was smashed into a truck right next to them. "Oh my god, Bumblebee." She peered down and saw what remained of his legs were scattered across the ground.
Bumblebee winced as he forced his back out of the truck, "Agh! This brings me back." He leaned forward as energon poured from his mouth.
From the sidelines, Samantha could see people watching them. She slid her wand out of the sleeve of her long sleeve shirt and aimed it at the mass of people, "Confundus." Everyone went rigid before turning around and calmly walking away. Each of them looked lost and confused, but whatever overtook them made it impossible to turn around. Samantha approached Bumblebee, "Hey~hey, you're gonna be okay. I'm sure Ratchet can buff this right out." She joked but could tell he was in a great deal of pain. Lennox attempted to coordinate the situation as people panicked and others calmly walked away in confusion. Samantha rested her wand against him. "Vulnera Sanentur," She recited the spell her old potions professor taught her. Bumblebee sighed as his energon levels rose slightly. The energon seeping out of his legs was flowing back into him. Magic was rushing across his protoform and soothed the pain his spark was feeling. This supernatural ability was practically a drug for Cybertronians.
Ratchet came rushing over, "You idiot! Look at this mess! Your vocal processor, and now look at your legs. If you weren't so careless and losing energon, I'd hit you with my wrench. Samantha, would you be able to mend this?" Bullets flew overhead as Starscream started firing at Ironhide. Samantha shook her head and motioned it to the muggled cowering around them. She couldn't obliviate or cast the confundus charm on too many people at once. Not to mention Lennox kept looking over at her as he attempted to contact the Air Force. Ratchet merely nodded, understanding why she couldn't help, "Very well. I will do what I can. Focus on extracting the Allspark." Ratchet made quick work of sealing the tubing in Bumblebee's legs.
Bumblebee shouted, "Dang it, Doc! A little warning!? Grrr!" He clenched his denture as a powerful laser wielded his servos shut.
Sideswipe rolled over, having dodged a few bullets from Starscream, "I'll watch them. You should go, pretty femme." He looked at Samantha and grinned, "How I've missed this!" Unlike the average mech, Sideswipe and Sunstreaker loved fighting. The rush and excitement they felt usually overcame any sense of fear.
Samantha reached down and grabbed the Allspark, "Wait~why don't you take it? You'll get farther than me. What about Sunstreaker? He's the fastest." A few feet away, the yellow Autobot was brimming with pride. Even after he treated her poorly, she still recognized who was the fastest bot here. She had already forgotten what Optimus told her about the Cube's energy.
"Hey!" Bumblebee looked offended before wincing. "Right… forgot."
Sideswipe shook his head, "We need to keep the Cons distracted. Not to mention the energy from the Allspark would fry us without proper diagnostic gear. Scrap!" He ducked as a missile flew past his head. Standing back up, he aimed his blaster, which resembled a powerful pistol, and shot at Starscream.
"Agh!" Starscream gave his infamous scream as his wing was clipped, and he transformed. The seeker went flying into a building before landing on a car. "My beautiful wing! You will suffer for that, Autobot!"
Samantha peeked over to where Starscream landed and was slightly concerned for the seeker. She was still impartial about who to trust and felt all this pain was unnecessary. The Decepticon seeker had a luxurious red coat of armor with blue paint on his arms and legs. Starscream jumped up and immediately armed his ion blaster. Samantha studied the Decepticon she had never seen and felt her eyes widen. Despite the seeker shooting at them, she couldn't help but admire his buff frame and unique wings. Were they not in the heat of battle, Samantha would have loved to take a few minutes to admire his armor and markings. Not to mention he had a unique voice… she would have been open to meeting a few of the other Decepticons; if Soundwave had allowed her. But given how her impartiality was now jeopardized with the Decepticons, she doubted he'd allow it.
Ironhide drove down the street and transformed. Having gained enough momentum, he flipped over two incoming rocks, which flew between his head. Before he hit the ground, he fired his cannons to keep himself in the air. Samantha was in awe at Ironhide's sheer talent when it came to his guns and weapons. As Ironhide jumped higher into the air, he flew over a woman in a blue dress that was screaming.
'Those people are going to get killed.' Samantha thought as she pulled her wand out. She made a sharp diagonal motion with her wand as the tip turned white. The muggles in the crossfire were quickly thrown out of the way and landed safely on the sidewalk. "Protego!" She cast a protective enchantment on either side of the street, blocking the shrapnel from hitting the muggles and separating them from the Autobots and Decepticons.
Sideswipe looked towards Ironhide and the end of the street as he took on Starscream, "What are you doing?" Since he was not a wizard, he could not see certain enchantments when cast.
Samantha's hands were shaking as she extended the length of her enchantment. Debris was hitting the walls of the shield, keeping the terrified people protected. Everyone was in too much of a panic to realize the shrapnel wasn't hitting them.
"Look out!" As a missile came straight towards them, Sideswipe stood in front of Bumblebee and Ratchet. Before the rocket hit him in the chest, it collided with the protective enchantment. Sideswipe could see the invisible wall for a brief moment as it took on a severe amount of stress. "I'm officially impressed." Sideswipe said as quickly glanced back at Samantha, "I've got this. You just focus on getting the Allspark out of here. Go!" He immediately became battle-hardened, something Samantha was unfamiliar with.
"Just try not to hurt anyone." Samantha knew it was impossible, but they needed to try. She lifted the spell before Lennox could see her. She kept a grip on the cube and looked around… Where the hell was Mikaela!? Ratchet was, unfortunately, unable to tend to Bumblebee's wounds as more Decepticons appeared. Soon all the Autobots were up in arms as their war raged in the middle of the street.
A car horn caused Samantha to turn around, "Sam, help me with this." Mikaela got out of a tow truck and marched around to grab the winch. "Bumblebee, you still want in on the action?" She nodded her head to the truck she had brought. Bumblebee lowered his mask and pulled out a blaster from his chest plate.
"I'm always ready. Grr~though I'd rather have my servos." He scooted himself over and allowed Samantha and Mikaela to strap him in. If he stays in place, he is as good as dead. While they strapped Bumblebee up, Lennox and Epps were arguing.
"What the hell was that?" Lennox demanded as they took cover and opened fire on the Decepticons.
"Obviously, that isn't an F-22!" Epps shouted.
"Ugh!" Lennox gritted his teeth, "I'd love to know how this could get any worse!"
"It's Megatron! Retreat!" Ratchet shouted as he signaled for the humans to run.
Megatron landed in the center of an alley and looked around, 'The cube is close. I can sense it.' As the Lord High Protector, it was his duty to protect the Allspark. His spark was tethered to it. Only after he scoured the galaxy could he pinpoint its location on Earth. Ironically, this was also the planet Sentinel Prime wanted him to enslave to rebuild Cybertron. 'Filthy, scrap!' The thought of Sentinel Prime made his energon boil. He knew the toils of slavery, as a former energon miner, and he would never force it upon another being, human or not. Their life was microscopic compared to theirs. If he enslaved humans, he would no longer be different from the fascist Autobots who enacted the caste system.
"Move!" Jazz yelled as he armed his blaster. "If ain't the big man himself. Let's dance, Megatron." He started firing at Megatron.
Megatron sneered as Optimus's second-in-command shot at him, "Vile traitor!" The cannon on his back bent forward and fired, causing a massive explosion. "Stay out of my way or perish! I will never let you have the Allspark!" He transformed again as he attempted to find the Allspark; however, Jazz seized the moment and caught the Decepticon's wing.
"Thanks for the ride, Megsie!" Jazz grinned as he angled his blaster and fired at Megatron's chest plate. "You want a piece of me!?"
(15 Minutes Before)
(Two Streets Over)
Samantha finished strapping Bumblebee into the tow truck. Mikaela got in and started the car again, "I'm gonna lead him; you just get that rubix cube out of here!"
"Y~yes, Mame!" Samantha was shocked by Mikaela's bravery. If she were a spirit animal, something muggles seemed to believe in, she would want Mikaela to be hers. Before leaving, Samantha got up to Bumblebee and gave him a kiss on the side of his mask. "Stay safe, alright? Do that, and I promise I'll fix your legs."
Bumblebee locked up and was shouting inside his processor. Why did he have his mask down at this moment! A cybertronian's protoform was surprisingly sensitive. He wanted to feel her soft organic lips against his cheek.
Bumblebee nodded, "You stay safe yourself. If I find out the femme who fixed my vocal processor dies, I'll be very upset." His optics briefly turned red. He did not want Samantha to leave him, and the thought of not being able to protect her in his current state made his spark burn. But he knew she had a higher priority. Mikaela shifted into gear just as Samantha jumped down. The two of them went speeding off down into the chaos.
Samantha felt something shift in her pocket as they left, "Huh?" The sparkling in her pocket was peeking its head out.
"Hey, don't come out yet. It's not safe. Please just go into recharge. I promise I won't let anything happen to you." She told the sparkling as it looked up at her, slightly scared by the explosions and screams. Despite being a cybertronian, this was still a baby. He wasn't mature enough to understand what was happening. When Cybertronians emerged from the well of Allspark they were blissfully ignorant of reality, but this only lasted a few days. After their processors evolve, only then do they become fully functioning Cybertronians.
"Sam!" Lennox came running over with a large gun, "Where is the cube?"
"Right here." She said and lifted it off the ground. Meanwhile, the sparkling followed her order and went back into recharge. Her scent was very calming and made him feel safe.
"Alright, listen, I can't leave my guys back there." Lennox approached her, his original plan still in mind, "There is a tall white building back there with statues on it. Here. Take this flare," he handed her a flare, "Go to the roof and set the flare."
"No." Samantha knew that wasn't where the Autobot's ship was, 'Damn it! Where is Prowl!?' He was supposed to help her extract the cube. "I can't~"
"Listen to me! You're a soldier now." Lennox shouted as he grabbed her.
Samantha frowned as her eyes went milky white, "Let go of me… right… now."
Lennox backed up as his eyes and skull started to burn. Samantha flicked her finger, and he slid back a bit. "What the hell was that?" So much was going through his head that he mistook what happened as an impulse, "Look~get that cube into military hands, or a lot of people are going to die."
Samantha shook her head, "Fine!" Looking towards the building, she knew apparating was out of the question. The apparitional plane was a realm of pure magic, and explaining it to muggles would take hours. Most electrical devices were destroyed upon apparating. Samantha had no intentions of apparating with the Allspark.
"Samantha! Go! We will cover you!" Ironhide shouted. The Decepticons were closing in, and it was getting harder to keep them at bay.
Samantha nodded, "Alright!" She took off towards the building, 'Prowl! Where is Prowl!?' As she ran, she pulled out her actual cell phone, "Prowl… Prowl… c'mon, where is his number. He gave it to me." She had it saved in her contacts the day after the Autobots kidnapped her from her house. Calling Prowl's number, she lifted the phone to her ear. "Prowl? Are you there?"
"I am here, Samantha." It was always a relief to hear Prowl's voice, "What is your position?"
"I'm heading towards an abandoned station next to the Orpheum theater!" She quickly gave him the street it was on, "Where is that shuttle you promised?"
"I am en route to the shuttle and will rendezvous with you. Please be safe." Samantha gasped as a bullet flew right past her head and pierced her cellphone. "Samantha? Samantha!?" Prowl was immediately worried when he lost connection with her. He was speeding through the streets of Mission City in order to reach their shuttle. It was camouflaged in between two large buildings near a park.
"Shit! That almost killed me."Samantha shouted as she ran. The fact that the bullet went between both her hand and head was nothing short of a miracle. The shot had blasted the phone out of her hand, and she was forced to abandon it. 'Thank god that wasn't the sparkling.' Not that the sparkling even had Prowl's comm-link number.
"Watch out!" Ironhide jumped over her and offered her cover. He picked up a truck and threw it at one of the Decepticons. Upon arriving on Earth, there were several constructicons here as well. They made up the bulk of the focus that was firing at them. Starscream was taking cover behind an alley wall with his blaster facing the sky. He rolled out of cover and started shooting at Ironhide and Sideswipe. In a brief moment, he saw a human girl carrying the Allspark.
'They entrusted the Allspark to a human!?' Starscream rushed towards Ironhide and tackled the Autobot. "Vile~Autobug!"
Ironhide slid across the ground as Starscream kicked him. He reached into his chest plate and pressed the button on the gift Samantha gave him. Ironhide could hear a clicking sound inside his body, and several runes were burned into the ground around him. "Take your best shot, Starscream!" He smirked as the seeker shot at him.
Starscream stopped shooting when the bolts from his blaster bounced off a white shield, "What is this!?" He was unaware of the Autobots possessing portable force field technology.
"Hehe~my turn." Ironhide pulled on his ion cannon and shot it at Starscream. The seeker went flying back and crashed into several cars. Ironhide laughed as he stood up. 'I'm never letting this femme go.' This gift of hers was already proving itself useful. He fired a few more shots from inside his magical shield. Each time he fired through the shield, he could briefly see the enchantment. Magic was a strange thing, but he loved it.
Samantha ran around the corner of the street and kept the AllSpark close to her chest. Static was jumping between her hand and the cube. She kept shaking her head as symbols appeared in the corners of her eyes. She recognized half the symbols as ancient runes, but the other half was completely different. 'What is happening? Not now!' She briefly closed her eyes and shook her head. She ran in front of a woman's car and landed on the ground. A wave of energy exploded from the Allspark and made Samantha gasp. The wave of energy caused several cars around her to shake, including the one she bumped into. One man's Xbox turned on and started transforming. It scared the man holding it because it looked like a monster was clawing out of it.
The spoiled woman inside the car gasped, "Did that bitch just dent my car?" Looking at the steering wheel, the cybertronian transformed its wheel… this was not the Well of Allspark! "Aaaah!" The woman was screaming as the steering wheel latched onto her face. He scanned the human's mind through her flesh and quickly understood their language. There was more to this cybertronian than just a newly created sparkling.
Samantha sat up and saw the woman scream and cry behind the wheel as she attempted to get the wheel off her face. "Nononono! Let her go!" She got up and opened the door of the car. The Allspark was secure in her other arm. The woman was still screaming in her seat.
"Get it off! Aaah!" There was utter terror in her voice as she cried and screamed.
"He is not going to hurt you! He's just curious!" Samantha shouted as she reached behind the wheel and pulled on a wire. The Cybertonian pulled back and turned to stare at the human who had the gall to yank on his wires. "Open the doors and let them out right now!" Seeing the angry expression, the cybertronian opened his doors. Not to mention he wanted these screaming creatures out of his protoform. Samantha grabbed the crying woman, "Go!" Knowing this wasn't the best time, she turned to the steering wheel and smiled, "Thank you. Now I need you to promise me you won't do that again, alright? It is very impolite to grab a woman without her permission." The cybertronian growled. What did she take him for, a sparkling?!
"Femme!" A powerful voice came from the steering wheel, "Where am I!? What is this form I am in!? Speak! Why am I not one with Primus!?"
Samantha was shocked. The Allspark didn't create a sparkling. This was a fully grown Cybertronian. "And who are you exactly?"
"Mind your tongue. I am Nova Prime! What protoform is this!?" The steering wheel got in her face and growled. His scanners, if you could call them that, showed he was in a poorly made protoform. Was this protoform composed of iron!? This was the weakest metal for a cybertronian spark to be housed in!
"Did you say… Prime?" Samantha knew that Cybertronians did not have last names and that Prime was a title. The Cybertronian attempted to transform, but he faced a significant problem. This protoform lacked a t-cog. It was an essential component created by the Quintessons, which allowed their race to transform. For most of Cybertronian history, transforming into vehicles was not something their species did naturally.
"Why is there no t-cog in this protoform!? What is the meaning of this?" Nova shouted. He stopped yelling and turned the wheel, "Impossible… how do you have the Allspark? You dare defile such a sacred artifact to my species by touching it!"
Samantha ducked as the steering wheel lunged at her; however, she waved her hand, and the stem of the wheel ignited. "I don't have time for this. You said you're a Prime, right? I'm just trying to get the Allspark back to your planet. You want that, right?" She was utterly confused about her situation. 'Optimus said the Allspark was connected to their afterlife. Why would it send back a Prime?'
Nova Prime snarled as he felt deep pain. How long has it been since he felt anything? Before waking up in the pathetic excuse of a protoform, he floated through an endless void. The manner of death in his previous protoform was lost to him. Why was he not one with Primus!? Why would his creator make him wander an endless void when he sought to unite the universe under his name! And why was this lesser creature's scent making him lightheaded?! "Return the Allspark to me, now! You know not its power."
"I'm sorry, I have to get this away from here. We'll talk later. Just wait here. I'll be back… I hope." Samantha didn't know who this Prime was, but she could no longer stall herself. 'What in the hell is going on!? Can this get any worse!?' The Decepticons were right around the corner and fighting through Ironhide's defenses.
Nova Prime angled his mirror and looked around. He lost sight of the human in the crowd of people… by the Allspark! There were too many of them! Just as Nova attempted to move, he was stopped when a smaller robot jumped from one of the buildings and landed on his roof. "Ah~Nova Prime, I have been expecting you. Now, if you'll come with me." People were screaming when they saw a tiny robot. The butler-like robot pulled out a playing card with a joker dancing. Flipping the card between his fingers, its center had a bright glow before both Cybertronians were violently sucked into the playing card.
Samantha ran through the streets and approached the building. "Almost there. Please be there, Prowl."
"You want a piece of me!?"
Samantha stopped, and her eyes widened, "Jazz?" She saw Megatron transform and pin Jazz down under his foot before lifting the mech up. "Jazz!"
"No! I want two!" Megatron was holding Jazz by his neck, and he was struggling to escape. When he grabbed the mech's lower leg, Samantha's heart dropped to the bottom of her stomach. Megatron was attempting to rip Jazz in half! The mere idea of him dying filled her heart with unparalleled fear. She loved every inch of that mech and his upbeat personality.
Time seemed to slow down for Samantha as she pulled out her wand and violently arched it over her head before aiming it at Megatron, "Expulso Maxima!" An abnormally powerful wave of magic exploded from her wand and went straight towards the Decepticon Leader.
Just as Megatron was about to kill Jazz. He briefly turned his head when he saw a blue light in his peripherals. "You can't save~ugh!" Megatron was blasted high into the air. The upper part of the tower he was standing on was utterly destroyed, and Jazz went tumbling towards the ground.
Samantha was running towards Jazz as he fell, "Aresto Momentum!" She jumped over some debris as she cast the spell. Jazz grunted as he stopped in mid-air. The mech was floating just a few inches above the ground.
Jazz landed on the ground and looked up to see the femme he so desperately longed for running towards him. "Nice save. I owe you~agh!" Samantha's worried expression instantly changed into rage as she cast another spell. Jazz was slapped across the face by an invisible incantation.
"You, Idiot!" Samantha got in front of him and looked terrified, "You stupid dumb~ugh! What were you thinking!? I will kill you myself if you ever do something like that again!"
Jazz's faceplate burned as his spark went wild. He was staring at her with both shock and a lovestruck expression. "What can I say? If it means keein' your species safe from Megatron."
Samantha stepped forward and placed her hand on his cheek, "If you die, then who will I share my love for music with? You are one stupid but brave Autobot. I'd rather know you're around with us than face a world without someone who has an appreciation for music and human culture like you." She leaned close and kissed the corner of his mouth while reciting a spell. "That spell should help with the pain." Her cheeks were red before running back to the building.
Jazz got up as his faceplate burned. Samantha's spell, whatever it was, seemed to fill his body with a weird strength. "Don't you worry, I'm not gonna leave a pretty femme like you just yet." He shouted as she ran towards a white building. 'Not before I merge my spark with you.'
Four streets over, Mikaela drove through the chaos as Bumblebee shot at different Decepticons. "Can this hunk of crap go any faster!?" She weaved through the destruction as Bumblebee guarded her. She drove right past Sunstreaker, who was wrestling with another Decepticon.
Sunstreaker grunted as he landed on his back, and the Decepticon started slamming his chest plate. "Die! I'll claim your helm as my trophy!" The Con shouted. Sunstreaker sneered at him; however, when he hit his chest plate again, it started to rattle. Opening his chest, the Autobot was dumbfounded when the enchanted fireworks Samantha gave him exploded outwards. Surprisingly, all the pounding had set off the fireworks, but they weren't harming Sunstreaker.
"Agh! What is this! Gaaaah!" Different colored fireworks exploded around the street and blinded the Decepticon. Sunstreaker's jaw was slightly ajar by the gift Samantha gave him. He never expected these magical fireworks to do this.
"What now?" Sunstreaker asked as another firework shot out towards the end of the street. There was a massive explosion, and the fireworks assembled the impossible. "What in the name of Primus!?" A loud roar echoed through the street as a dragon slithered from the smoke and darted towards the Decepticon. Everyone on the road, including the other Decepticons such as Starscream, stopped fighting when they saw the dragon.
"A~ah!" The undesignated Decepticon started firing missiles at the dragon. The dragon pulled its head back, and hundreds of large bubbles escaped its mouth instead of fire. A few of the rockets became trapped inside the bubbles and exploded. However, the bubble never burst. "T~that's not possible! What is this, Autobot!?" The Decepticon backed away in fear as he watched the unimaginable. The bubbles filled with smoke collapsed in on themselves before transfiguring into swarms of different colors of luminescent butterflies. The dragon danced in a circle before its body swirled into a fiery ring. Sunstreaker ducked as the ring exploded outwards and knocked several Decepticons away. As he glanced up, the Autobot warrior was in a state of shock. An enchanted firework, which Samantha had given to him for his pranks, saved his spark.
(Mission City Central Station)
Samantha ran towards the abandoned white building and kept the Allspark close to her chest. The longer she held the cube, the worse her vision became. Cybertronian symbols and characters, which she did not recognize, appeared across her eyes along with ancient runes. "Almost there~almost there." She cast a spell on the chained fence and phased through it.
Bursting in through the door, Samantha ran into the center of the massive room and looked around, "Wait… this building… This is Mission Cities Central train depot," It was identical to the central train station in Michigan. "I hate seeing buildings with such history turn into this." It also used to act as one of MACUSA's primary hubs during the 1950s, helping students wizarding students from the west coast migrate to Massichutests to attend Illvermorny. "Focus! No time for sightseeing."
Running through the station, Samantha attempted to reach the roof; however, she could hear glass shatter from behind her as she rounded the corner. "Rah! I smell you, girl!" Megatron jumped into the station and sniffed the air again; he quickly realized this was Samantha's same smell, but he left her at Hoover Dam. "I owe you my gratitude for releasing me, human, now come out and give me the Allspark." His voice was more intimidating than he expected.
Samantha rushed up the stairs, 'This is bad. He probably doesn't know I'm impartial.' As she ran to the roof, Megatron could hear her footsteps from the next level. Bursting through the floor, he started climbing just as Samantha got to the second set of stairs.
"Meet me on the roof!" She shouted, hoping the Decepticon Leader would see reason.
Megatron lifted himself up as the human vanished down the narrow hallway. He growled before jumping back down. Why was this femme running from him? As he looked around, the Decepticon realized that his sudden action to burst through the window and flooring might have frightened her. "At least I know where she is going."
By the time Samantha got to the roof, she had looked around and saw several statues around her. "Not the most luxurious location for a talk, but it's better than nowhere." The entire building shook underneath her feet as Megatron transformed into a jet and flew towards the roof. Flying high into the air, he changed and landed on the opposite side of the roof. Samantha had backed herself near one of the giant statues in the process.
Megatron finished transforming and saw Samantha holding the Allspark, "Is it fear or courage that compels you to speak with me? Give me the Allspark!" He opened his hand but kept his distance from the human.
Samantha held up her hand, "H~hold on, can we please talk about this? I know it looks like I'm helping the Autobots, but I promise you I'm impartial in all of this."
Megatron growled, "There is no time for politics. If you were smart, you would hand me the Allspark, so I can keep it from the Autobots. I failed my planet by allowing it to leave the atmosphere, but I cannot allow such a mistake to happen again."
"Stop right there," Samantha pulled out her wand and aimed it at the Allspark, "If you come any closer, I'll destroy it… then none of you win." Obviously, there was only one way to force Megatron's hand.
"Destroy the Allspark? Haha, you are quite an adorable little human. The Allspark is indestructible. Does Optimus truly think that merging the cube into his spark will keep it from me?" Megatron took a step forward.
"You want proof?" Samantha turned the AllSpark and showed him the damaged side, "How about now?"
"What have you done to the AllSpark?" Megatron immediately stopped when he saw the wounded side of the Allspark.
"Stop moving," Samantha demanded firmly.
For once, Megatron obeyed someone else's orders, "Very well. What do you wish to discuss, human?"
"I'm open to compromises, alright? Give me one reason why I should trust you instead of the Autobots? You've destroyed parts of this city and have chased me for nearly a block. You'd think someone would have more respect for me since I was the one who freed you to begin with."
Megatron tilted his head, "Mhm… I see you aren't indoctrinated by the Autobots. And I suppose I am indebted to you for releasing me from those vile humans. I have no goal of harming your species or creating this army to conquer your planet. I am the Lord High Protector. It is my duty to protect the Allspark. To abuse its power is heresy."
"If it's your duty to protect the Allspark, why do the Autobots think you'll misuse it?"
"Lies! What other reason is there? They label me a monster but refuse to look upon themselves!" Megatron roared, "I owe you a debt for freeing me, human, but my duty is to protect the Allspark. If you do not relinquish it to me, I will be forced to offline you."
Samantha sighed, "Look, it's not my place to judge you or your cause. I met one of your own… Soundwave… do you know him?"
"He is my telecommunications officer." Megatron stated, "What has he told you?"
"A lot. Why you're fighting the Autobots and what the caste system was like. I do sympathize with you." She stepped forward, "I'm not going to act as some mediator or force you to come to a compromise. From what Soundwave has told me, you've attempted several peace talks with Optimus, and he has refused them."
Megatron nodded, "Indeed. You are a wise femme for keeping yourself impartial. Our war is beyond your concern." A small part of him admired her level-headedness. "Relieve me, the Allspark, and I will promptly leave your planet."
"You do realize if I give it to you, the Autobots will despise me, right? Just as if I give it to them, you'll also despise me."
Megatron sighed, "It is an unfavorable position that has been thrown onto you, femme. I've made many similar choices in the past." The Decepticon was surprisingly calm as he kneeled down, "I have never regressed myself to this in all my cycles, so consider yourself lucky to see this, but… Please give me the Allspark. If you sympathize with my cause, you would understand why I cannot allow the Autobots to have it. They are fascists. I see Optimus as a valuable and respected comrade. Our history dates back longer than you can imagine, but he is weak. He refuses to see the future for what it is. I have no doubts that the caste system will end if Optimus wins the war, but how long after his spark expires does he assume his peace will last? What would he know of toiling away in an energon mine?"
Samantha sighed, "Look, I don't care which one of you gets the Allspark. So long as it is returned to your planet, I'm happy. I'd rather not destroy it, but I will if it means to protect my own species." To emphasize her point, the tip of her wand glowed as cracks appeared on the Allspark. Megatron was panicking, a rare emotion to see.
"Stop!"
She pulled her wand away, "I hate myself for having to choose a side, but this needs to end… Here." With great regret, she presented the cube, "Just take it and go."
Megatron stood up and started walking towards the human. His spark was beating wildly. The Allspark was finally in reach, and he could return it to Cybertron. "You are indeed a wise femme." Just as he started to get close, Starscream landed on a neighboring roof.
"Vile human! Soundwave was a fool to trust you!" He fired at the building, and the floor below Samantha's feet collapsed.
"Starscream! You fool!" Megatron roared as he jumped forward in an attempt to catch the femme. Samantha was spinning towards the ground as she kept a tight hold on the AllSpark.
"Hang on, Samantha!" Optimus's voice appeared below, and he quickly caught her before she fell to her death. Lifting her to his chest plate, he was relieved, "I've got you."
Samantha rubbed her head and sat up, 'That it… I'm ending this.'
"Optimus! Return the femme and the cube to me now!" Megatron shouted as he jumped down. Optimus let go of the building and started scraping down the side. He got halfway before Megatron tackled him and the two powerful leaders attempted to grab Samantha.
The three of them landed on the ground as people ran away. Samantha was still on Optimus's chest, but could tell he was greatly injured. Megatron barely lifted his head and sneered when a sweaty human sat in front of him. His scent was blocking out Samantha's and made him sneer. He roared, and the human screamed before running away. "Disgusting."
"Samantha," Optimus retracted his mask, "You risked your life to protect the cube."
"Family motto… no sacrifice, no victory." She said with a concerned smile. 'Damn it… damn it! No matter which side gets the Allspark, more people will continue to die.'
"If I cannot defeat Megatron, you must push the cube into my chest. I will sacrifice myself to destroy it." Samantha looked horrified by what Optimus said, "Get behind me." Samantha nodded and jumped down; however, she knew she could never kill Optimus.
Optimus got up simultaneously as Megatron, "It's you and me, Megatron."
Megatron sneered, "Save your speech, Optimus!" The two cybertronians immediately started punching and throwing each other into the walls. As they fought, Samantha looked down at the AllSpark and felt sick to her stomach.
'I'm so sorry, Optimus. I hope your kind can forgive me.' She knew if Optimus attempted to destroy the Allspark, he would be frowned upon by all Cybertronians. Running through the dug-up part of the street, she cast a simple levitation spell on the cube allowing it to float upwards. She jumped slightly as loud explosions appeared in the battle behind her. 'Lennox?' She saw the man sliding across the ground, making a crazed laugh as he shot at Megatron.
Samantha looked at the wand in her hand. It shook in her hand before she pulled back and aimed at the floating cube. A powerful beam of magic exploded from the wand and pierced the Allspark, causing a blinding light to appear.
Optimus and Megatron fell to the ground when an explosion sent them flying near Samantha. Optimus struggled to sit up, "Samantha, put the cube in my chest now!" When he looked up, he saw her casting a spell from her wand at the AllSpark.
Megatron was horrified as he struggled to crawl towards the femme, "Stop! You'll doom our race! Stop, I command you!"
Samantha briefly looked back before opening her other hand. A magical barrier rose from the ground, separating her from the two cybertronians. Megatron was on the ground, pounding at the shield. "Grr!" She winced as she forced all her magic through the wand she held. Electricity was shooting the surrounding buildings as the AllSpark started to crack. Samantha pulled her wand back before lunging it in a forward motion. A white orb of light exploded outwards and plugged into the Allspark. Optimus and Megatron covered their optics as they were blinded by a powerful light. A large explosion sent a wave of energy and magic outwards, passing through buildings and people.
Megatron and Optimus were thrown back as Samantha's shield melted away. Optimus opened his optics and stared at the sky as clouds rolled in. He soon saw mysterious red embers blowing through the wind above him. "Samantha!" When he sat up, he saw the Allspark was lying in the street. The cube was blown open, and its remains were scattered about. Nothing was salvageable. But to a greater concern, Optimus could see Samantha was missing.
Megatron rolled over, "No!" He smacked a human soldier on the ground out of the way and rushed over towards the destroyed Allspark, "NOOO!" Megatron was trembling as they grabbed the remaining case of the Allspark. The cube dissolved into blue dust the moment he touched it. "You've doomed us, Optimus." His shoulders were trembling as he turned back and aimed his cannon. Megatron didn't fire like he expected. He just stood there for a moment before lowering his arm. "No… you're no longer worth it. I'm finished with you. Decepticons, retreat!" He jumped up and transformed into a jet before flying off. Killing Optimus would solve nothing now. Without a way to revive Cybertron, every spark that remained mattered.
Optimus stood up and watched Megatron and his forces fly away into the unknown. "Samantha?" He quickly scanned the street and failed to find her.
Lennox peeked his head from the debris, "What was that?" He saw Samantha at the end of the street doing something to the Allspark but had little time to register it before the explosion. "Sam?" He called out.
Mikaela pulled up with Bumblebee still strapped to the end of the tow truck. "Hey, Bee, how is it going back there?"
Bumblebee opened his mask, "Still kicking. Not literally, though." He looked over at Optimus and saw his leader removing the remains of rubble. What was he trying to find?
Mikaela walked around the truck and looked around as the rest of the Autobots converged on the scene, "Hey… Where is Samantha?" She walked over towards Lennox, who was still staring at the other side of the street. "Hey! Where is Sam?"
"I~I…" Lennox motioned to where Optimus was.
Jazz jumped down from one of the buildings and did a roll before dancing to a bit of music, "Now that's what I'm talkin' about. We got those Decepticons on the run now. Now, where is Sammy? I still need to thank her for savin' my aft."
The twins pulled up and transformed, "I knew I shouldn't have given you those fireworks! Think of all the pranks we could have pulled!" Sideswipe lamented as Sunstreaker and him talked about their unique experience with the fireworks. "Optimus, where is the Allspark?"
"Uh~hey~guys!" Mikaela shouted over to the Autobots that were now transforming. She bent down and grabbed a corner of the Allspark. "I think this is it." She gasped and shook her hand when the cube dissolved into a cloud of blue dust.
Ratchet walked over and stared at the ground, "The Allspark is destroyed? Optimus, where is Samantha?" Optimus stood up and turned around before shaking his head. They have been around their leader enough to know what that means.
Ironhide marched over, stepping on a car, "Where is she, Prime!?"
Mikaela listened to the Autobots argue over Samantha before glancing over by a broken wall. "Hey! Hey! Guys!" She gained their attention while kneeling down towards the wall. "Isn't this her wand?" Mikaela kneeled down and grabbed the Elder wand, and lifted it up. "Oh~no." She reached over and lifted up the charred remains of Samantha's sleeve. Blood was soaked onto the tattered clothing.
"Move!" Ironhide pushed himself through and started digging through the debris around them. 'Where in the name of Primus is she!?' It didn't take long for the other Autobots to start searching through the street with the help of Lennox and his soldiers.
"Sam! Where are you!?" Lennox shouted as he scanned the area. "You two, go help, Epps." He said to two of his soldiers.
Mikaela was panicking, "Crap, where is she? She can't be dead." Looking at the ground where she found Samantha's charred clothing, she noticed a few droplets of blood leading past a fence. Squeezing through the busted fence, she decided to run towards the abandoned train station, which was now in ruins. "Samantha? Are you here?" Mikaela looked around and couldn't hear anything. "Sam?" As she got around a large pillar, she listened to the sound of sobbing. "Samantha?"
Mikaela entered a large room right in the train station center, following the sound. In the center of the room was a statue of a woman with wings covered in graffiti. The crying was coming from behind the statue. Mikaela quickly rushed over and saw Samantha's arm poking from the other side of the square foundation the statue was on. "Thank god, there you are." When she rushed over, Mikaela saw Samantha crying into her hands. "Hey… hey, what's wrong? Samantha?" She placed a hand on her shoulder as she continued to cry. "Oh my god. What happened to your hand?" Her right hand was shriveled and charred.
Samantha lowered her hands. Her eyes were extremely puffy, "Please just go away."
"Everyone is looking for you. We all thought you were dead." The building shook when they heard the sound of jets. "I think that's Prowl with the carrier he promised us. Better late than never, right?" She attempted to crack a joke. Samantha just looked away and continued to cry. "Why are you crying? It's over."
"I… I destroyed the AllSpark." She felt horrible.
Mikaela shook her head and processed what Samantha said, "You destroyed it? Why?"
Samantha sniffed as her throat locked up, "Optimus was going to merge the Allspark with his chest and kill himself with it. But Megatron told me it likely wouldn't destroy it… I didn't want Optimus to be an outcast and shunned because he was just trying to do the right thing."
"Then why are you crying?" Mikaela sat down next to her and threw an arm over her shoulder. Samantha might be a witch, but she was still human.
"I doomed an entire planet. How can I not be crying? What did I do?" Around her, the broken wood and debris from the building started floating up. Soon the entire room had different objects floating freely within the open space. It was only beautiful to witness.
Mikaela attempted to console her, "You know they won't hate you. Besides, you saved Optimus. I think that means more to the Autobots than you think."
"How can I ever face them after this? What are they going to do now?" Samantha wiped the hot tears from her cheeks, "And look at my hand."
"What happened to it?"
"I… I used too much magic, and it destroyed my hand. That wand… it's nothing but bad luck." Ever since she got it, things in her life went south. This was just the tip of the iceberg.
Mikaela shook her head, "Sam, you have to go out there and show them you're alive." They were more concerned about finding her than arguing over the Allspark. "Everyone thinks you're dead. I thought so… you also promised Bumblebee and a new pair of legs, remember?"
"Is… is he still alive?" Samantha asked shakily.
"Ya. He's alive. And currently searching through debris with no legs trying to find you. That's how desperately worried he is. Even Sunstreaker is helping."
Samantha gave a little laugh, "Doubtful. He'd never want to ruin his paint job." Searching through rubble for a human he didn't like was the last thing she would believe. "He probably hates me more than the Decepticons now." She burned the bridges between both the Autobots and Decepticons in her mind. Samantha could hear the Autobots and Lennox's men calling out her name. By the sound of it, they were not entering the building.
"Samantha!? Are you here!? This isn't funny!" Ironhide shouted. He refused to believe she was dead. In his opinion, she was a powerful witch, and he did not see a femme like her dying. Ironhide didn't care about the Allspark… His spark was too worried about such a perfect femme for him being dead.
Jazz pushed Ironhide out of the way, "Move!" He immediately started tearing the building apart as he searched for Samantha. 'Frag no! Where is she!? C'mon, don't let this femme be dead.'
Samantha waved her hand, and all the floating debris in the room fell to the ground, creating a loud noise. Mikaela and Samantha looked at each other when they heard a smashing sound. They both jumped back when Jazz and Ironhide broke through the wall.
"I found her!" Jazz shouted with relief. His comm-link was open, and the other Autobots, especially Optimus, demanded to know where she was.
"What is wrong with you!?" Ironhide shouted as he marched over, his voice laced with fear and anger, "Do you find it funny to have me worried!?" He huffed and kneeled down.
Jazz came over, "Scrap! What happened to your hand, little femme!?" Doc was undoubtedly going to have a fit when he got here.
Samantha covered her hand, "I channeled too much magic into my hand when I… um…"
"Forget the Allspark. Look at your hand!" Ironhide shouted. "Optimus went and made it seem like you were dead. You better have a good reason for running off."
"I destroyed the Allspark, take a guess." She said bitterly. Ironhide and Jazz glanced at each other. Samantha obviously felt terrible; however, they were more concerned that a human had enough power to destroy the Allspark in the first place.
"Hey, don't go cryin' on us." Jazz said with a grin, "You made a tough call and saved OP's spark. Chances are it was gonna get destroyed anyways."
"It doesn't make me feel any better that I doomed your planet to become an eternal wasteland."
Ironhide frowned as she became too hard on herself, "Quit beating yourself up. That's my job. I'd rather the Allspark be destroyed than fall into the Decepticon's hands." He cracked a smile, "Not to mention that explosion you made was nice and big. Too bad I wasn't there for the final bang. Next time you do something like that, do you mind waiting for me?" Samantha smiled as Ironhide and Jazz tried their hardest to cheer her up. But deep down, she still had that dreadful feeling in her heart.
"Out of the way, scrapheap!" Sideswipe shouted.
"Look who's talking!" Sunstreaker yelled back. Both the twins were squeezing through the wall. There was a horrible scraping sound as Sunstreaker scratched his armor on the wood and metal supports inside the wall. But he didn't care. His spark was overwhelmed with fear, and he despised it. The thought of Samantha being dead scared him more than he imagined. A small part of him resented that he had feelings for a human, but her personality and abilities made up for her being organic.
Sideswipe rushed over and was about to grab Samantha, but Ironhide lifted his arm and punched his helm, "What was that for!?"
Ironhide frowned, "She doesn't want to be touched right now."
Samantha sat there patiently with a guilty expression as the Autobots argued. The twins wanted to check on her and didn't appreciate Ironhide getting in their way. Jazz was sneering at the twins. If anyone was going to watch over her, it was him. This femme saved his spark, and he wasn't about to lose her to one of these idiots.
The ground shook as Optimus broke through the wall, making it more prominent than before. His spark was pounding as his optics shook dramatically. He was scanning the room for Samantha, and he saw her sitting next to a statue. "Samantha, you had made me fear the worst. Why were you hiding from us?" She must have quickly slipped away after the large explosion.
Samantha kept her hand covered as all eyes were on her, "I just… needed a moment to think."
Ironhide elbowed Optimus and muttered something in cybertronian. Optimus looked back at Samantha and understood why she ran away from them. She felt guilty about destroying the Allspark. "Samantha, you made a difficult but appropriate choice in destroying the Allspark. You also saved my own spark by stopping me from merging with it… for that, I am grateful." His words did little to encourage her. Optimus kneeled down and noticed Samantha kept trying to cover her right hand, "Samantha, show me your hand. Are you injured?"
Surprisingly, she shook her head, "I'd rather not. If you don't mind."
Ironhide crossed his arms, "Show him."
She lifted her arm and pulled back her sleeve, "I overdid it when I used that spell to destroy the Allspark. I was able to contain this in my hand, but… I don't know if this will heal."
Optimus leaned close and frowned, "Forgive me. Had I been strong enough to defeat Megatron, perhaps none of this would have happened to you." It was his own turn to feel guilty about Samantha's injury and the burden he placed upon her. "Nevertheless, I am forever indebted to you for saving my spark, Samantha."
Samantha smiled a bit, "Thank you all for the pep talk, but I'd rather not talk about what happened." The Autobots felt monumentally guilty. They could tell they weren't going to be able to cheer Samantha up. However, they were just grateful that she didn't perish when she destroyed the Allspark. "Where is Prowl?"
"He's outside hiding the shuttle from the rest of those humans." Jazz explained, "He… uh… He wanted me to tell you that he's sorry for not reaching you on time." Before everyone could get comfortable, they were interrupted by several humans who only now decided to show up.
"Nobody move!" Swat and different government entities flooded the room. Their weapons were trained on the large bots. Lennox came rushing in and pushed the man leading this assault.
"Hold your fire! They're friendly."
Sunstreaker threw his head back and groaned, "Can we just grab the femme and leave?"
(After the Battle)
Samantha was sitting with Mikaela as they were interrogated by two men in suits. Neither of them trusted the US Government. They were being questioned about what happened during the battle. However, Samantha wasn't making it easy.
"Why exactly were these so-called 'Autobots' looking for you?" One of the men asked. Samantha was silent and continued to glare at the government official. "Young Lady, we are on the same side here. All we ask for is your cooperation. You are obviously important if~"
Samantha lifted her hand, "Don't patronize me. I was taken from my house, we were unlawfully detained, and now you're trying to act like we're buddies." Her hand was wrapped in a bandage.
"We are not Sector 7."
Samantha nodded, "That's right, you aren't. You're still a government jackal, no matter what sect." She eyed the man's partner and glanced at the one-way mirror. "Give me one reason why I should tell you anything?"
"A lot of innocent people died today, young lady. Now is the time to start talking." He became more forceful.
"I'm aware, thank you. That was indeed sad, but sadly no sacrifice, no victory. The death of a few innocent people will always be shed for the greater good." It was a cruel way of thinking, but Samantha could not control if people lived or died. If you stand in the middle of gunfire and don't duck, the consequences are on you. She did, however, try and save who she could.
Before the FBI agent could raise his voice, his eye started to twitch. "Ugh… no… no, make it stop." A little bit of blood dripped from his nose before the agent collapsed onto the table.
Mikaela looked at the two-way mirror when they heard the sounds of the men behind it fall to the ground, "What did you do?"
Samantha shook her head, "It wasn't me." The doorknob to their room rattled before it swung open.
"Samantha, c'mon, we're leaving." Ron was standing there with Judy. A playing card was in his hands.
"Oh, my sweet little angel!" Judy ran over and started hugging Samantha. "Did they hurt you? Are you okay? My god, you are filthy! Did they not let either of you shower? Why are you covered in dirt!? Is that a cut!?"
"Mom, I'm fine." Samantha said, slightly embarrassed.
Judy turned to Mikaela and gave her a hug, too, "I'm so happy both of you girls are okay. C'mon, we're going home. Your grandfather is waiting down the hall."
"What!?" Samantha shouted, "Wait! Wait! We can't leave just yet. What about Maggie and Glen?"
Ron raised a brow, "Who? Samantha, we have bigger problems than… ugh~fine." Even Ron knew it was cruel to leave some innocent muggles here in the hands of these government idiots. The Witwicky family despised certain forms of government. They keep people in the dark, and once your usefulness wears out, you're scrap.
Samantha got up from the table with Mikaela and stepped over the unconscious agents. "Where are the Autobots?"
Ron sighed, "Sorry, Samantha, but they're on their own. Too many eyes on them. We can wiggle you two out of this, but they're in hot water."
Judy looked between Samantha and Ron, "Who are you talking about?"
"Judy, I promise when we get to England, I'll explain everything." Ron led his wife out of the room. Before leaving, Ron turned to Mikaela, "Mikaela, I know you have been through a lot lately, and normally I'd tell Sam to obliviate you, but I'm not going to."
Samantha stopped, "You're not?"
"She's not?" Mikaela asked.
"No," Ron shook his head, "I'll make you both a deal. If you keep shut about magic, I promise I won't make Samantha obliviate you… deal? And frankly, Samantha needs friends."
Samantha and Mikaela were looking at each other with massive smiles. Mikaela nodded with a shocked smile, "D~deal! My lips are sealed." As Ron left, she pulled Samantha's sleeve, "Hold on… how does he know I know about magic?"
Samantha laughed nervously, "Remember how I said this wasn't my doing?" She motioned her arms to the unconscious FBI agents, "My Dad used an enchanted playing card. The spell is powerful in making people go unconscious and forget. But it doesn't work on you if you know about magic."
Stepping into the hallway, Samantha squealed, "Edmund! It's so great to see you!" She excitedly rushed over the unconscious men in the hallway and hugged her grandfather.
"Edmund!?" The older man exclaimed, "No, what happened to Grandpa? Nono~this will not do. I expect you to call me grandpa."
"Sorry, It's just been too long. I wasn't sure what I should call you." Samantha said, "How did you get here?"
"Young lady, I am a wizard. Have you forgotten?" Edmund looked Samantha over, "Mhm~Did you receive a concussion? Oh~never mind, a blow to the head never harmed anyone."
"Edmund, don't put those ideas in Samantha's head." Ron said firmly, "Now, what are we waiting for? Samantha, go get your friends, and then we're leaving."
"R~right! Sorry." Samantha recited a spell, pulling her wand out, and a wisp of light darted out, traversing down the hall. The wisp spun in a circle before slipping past a door into an adjacent interrogation room. "They're in there." Bouncing her wand, a whirling sound echoed through the halls, and the interrogation room door opened. Maggie and Glen were graciously floating in mid-air towards them, unconscious like the other muggles.
Edmund looked Glen over as he floated over, "My~what a very fat young man."
"Grandpa!" Samantha shouted, "That is not nice to say."
"Young lady, I merely state the obvious. Just like my great Auntie was a bitch, barking mad." He stated with no filter.
Mikaela shrugged away and awkwardly pinched the bridge of her nose, "So… where are we going?" A part of her was also laughing at what Edmund said. He seemed like a guy she'd want to talk with.
"Hello, Young Lady, and who might you be?" He smiled at the beautiful muggle girl.
"I'm Samantha's friend…." Mikaela glanced over at Samantha to make sure. Did she view her as a friend? To her relief, Sam nodded with a smile.
"Splendid! Then you can tell me all about Samantha and every embarrassing story you two have had together. Oh~I do love a good story. Tell me, my dear, are you familiar with wizards?"
"A little bit." Mikaela said cautiously, "You're not going to wipe my memories, are you?"
"What? Oh~no! Not at all." Edmund waved his hand and signaled for everyone to follow him, "Sweet girl, I have no business erasing your memories. Besides, it is always fun to have a muggle around. Very resilient, muggles are. You, my girl, I see great things for you." His eyes briefly turned blue.
As Samantha walked behind her father, she turned to Judy, "Mom, are you okay?"
"Me? I'm fine, sweetheart. I was more concerned about you than anything. You would not imagine the chaos when your Uncle Charlie found out you were kidnapped. The entire family was worried." Judy explained as they walked down the endless hallway.
"They know? I didn't even think Uncle Charlie would notice if I was gone."
Judy waved her finger at Samantha, "Now, Samantha, I know you and your Uncle don't see eye-to-eye, but he still cares. When we get to England, I expect you to be on your best behavior. We are going to your grandfather's house until things settle down."
"What about Mikaela?" Samantha asked as she glanced over at her friend. Edmund was telling her the famous story of his hatred for his Aunt. However, Mikaela also shared all the juicy details about Samantha and the Autobots.
"She can stay." Judy said, unbothered by the idea, "I'm glad you're both safe."
"So… you and Dad aren't mad I told Mikaela about magic?" Samantha asked, slightly scared.
Ron looked back and seemed completely uninterested, "Sam, we're not gonna yell at you. You're not a little girl. If you told her that's on you, just… try to make sure she doesn't blab."
"I promise, Dad, she won't. Excuse me, Mom." She quickly ran next to her father and whispered, "What about the Autobots? We can't just leave them."
Ron looked at her and whispered, "Samantha, they have every eye in the entire US government looking at them. MACUSA is working overtime to conceal this, and we're doing everything we can to save you from being sent to Azkaban. We can't help them."
Samantha sighed, "We can't do anything?"
"I'll see if I can talk to Edmund. He knows a lot of old spells and might be able to help. But I can't promise anything." Everything was happening as it should.
Edmund laughed as Mikaela whispered into his ear, "No! That is just a delightfully juicy story."
Samantha looked over and frowned, "Mikaela… what are you guys talking about?"
Mikaela shrugged, "Oh~nothing… just your boyfriends." Samantha went pale as a ghost, and she signaled for Mikaela to stop talking. But it was too late.
"Samantha Jane Witwicky!" Judy shouted and ran over to shake her daughter, "You have a boyfriend!? Why did you never tell me!? Are you embarrassed by us? How could you not tell me about this!? Young Lady, you are in so much trouble! Is it that Ben-boy? Please tell me it is. He's absolutely charming."
"M~Mom! I swear I don't have a boyfriend. Mikaela is lying. Tell her, Mikaela!"
"I'm not lying," Mikaela said with a mischievous grin.
"I hate you!" Samantha shouted.
"Sammy! Why did you never tell me!?" Judy shouted at her daughter while shaking her.
Ron rubbed his forehead. "I'm too old for this crap."
(Elsewhere)
Optimus and his fellow Autobots were surrounded by armed humans as they explained their existence to several high-ranking government officials. To their relief, Lennox and Epps were speaking on their behalf and attempting to defuse any fears these humans had about them.
Sunstreaker had his arms crossed and glared at the annoying fleshlings, "Is Optimus seriously asking for asylum here for us? My paint is gonna rust."
Jazz elbowed him, "C'mon now. If we stay here, we get to spend time with that little witch we all love."
Ironhide turned around and slammed his hand over Jazz's mouth, "Shut your mouth. These humans don't know about Samantha. If you put her in danger because of your loose lips, I'll blast a hole in your chest plate." He spoke in cybertronian.
Sunstreaker snarled a bit as this meeting took forever. Optimus was currently speaking with an annoying human named Director Galloway. Sunstreaker stepped forward and spoke to the tiny human, "Fleshbag, where is Samantha?"
"That information is strictly need-to-know. We're interrogating them for answers to this whole mess." Director Galloway said, extremely annoyed. He was obviously intimidated by these giant mechanical creatures, especially Sunstreaker, but he attempted to maintain his composure.
"You're what!?" Sunstreaker shouted. Sideswipe nearly blew a gasket and shared in his brother's rage. "Who the scrap said you could interrogate her?"
"Sunstreaker, enough!" Optimus said firmly as he glared at his soldier.
Director Galloway glared at Optimus, "Keep that thing on a leash, will you?" Sunstreaker was snarling and half tempted to shoot this human. Where was Samantha!? Where was the femme who ensnared his spark? She belonged to him and Sideswipe.
"Sir," William said, "With all due respect, that girl risked her life to help them and us. Because of her~"
"I'm aware, soldier." Director Galloway said in a condescending voice, "Because of her, we have a national emergency. Hoover Dam is destroyed, we have an unverified amount of casualties in Mission City, not to mention the giant robots who are likely lying to us."
"Now, Sir," General Moorshower spoke up, "As acting General, I'd strongly advise you to recognize the situation here. We are dealing with an enemy we have never seen before, and their enemies are offering to help us." It was like the old saying, 'the enemy of my enemy is my friend.'
Prowl stared at this irritating human, "We Autobots are not your enemy. Nor have we come to bring harm to your species."
"Director Galloway," Optimus looked at this human who was starting to irritate him, "I am fully willing to offer my cooperation to you and your government."
Bumblebee crossed his arms and looked around, "Where the scrap is Samantha and Mikaela?" They were in a large air shelter just outside of Mission City. They were escorted here for questioning, and the Autobots were more than cautious about these humans. None of the Autobots understood why Optimus attempted to establish a treaty with these humans. They knew well enough from Samantha, who stressed to them to not trust their government.
Bumblebee looked down at his legs and smiled. True to her word, Samantha was able to fix his legs before they were transported to this base. He was already formulating was to offer his spark to her, but he just didn't know what to say.
(79 Hours Later)
The Autobots were still cooped up inside the Hangar and answered these human scientists' plethora of annoying questions. A rough treaty between the Autobots and humans was being drafted into some acronym called NEST. Optimus was doing everything to show support to these tiny humans; however, the only thing he refused to share was their advancements in weaponry.
"Gah! I can't take it!" Sunstreaker shouted in rage. The human scientist had left, and he was officially at his breaking point. None of the scientists came near him during their examinations… there was only one human on this planet that was allowed to touch him. And she was still missing!
"Will you quit whining like a sparkling?" Ironhide growled. 'Where the frag is Samantha!? Why won't these humans tell us where she is?'
Jazz was standing next to Prowl, a frown slashed across his face, "For once, I think I agree with Sunny here. Optimus, why should we even be botherin' with this alliance if they won't tell us where Sammy is at?" Next to him, Ratchet was on his knee, attempting to stabilize his side. "Grr~Doc, can ya make that any less painful?"
Ratchet looked up and frowned, "It serves you right! What were you thinking? Going against Megatron alone is a death sentence. You should thank Primus that Samantha was able to save you!"
"I'd rather thank the little femme herself." Jazz said in a low voice.
Optimus approached Jazz and rested a servo on his shoulder, "Jazz, attempting to fight Megatron alone was a dangerous plan."
"So everyone keeps sayin', but it's all right when you go against him alone? Grr~" Jazz smacked his faceplate, "Sorry, Optimus, I'm just cooped up with all these humans pokin' me. They won't hand over Sammy or tell us where she's at. What if they're experimenting on her?"
Optimus frowned, "I have stressed to Director Galloway that if any harm comes to Samantha or Mikaela, then any possibility of an alliance will be receded." Though he shared in their anger. Director Galloway and General Moorshower were not giving them any information on Samantha's whereabouts. Every time she was brought up, they would change the conversation or tell him that she was being processed.
"Optimus!" William Lennox had walked into the room, "A pleasure to see you again." William's eyes were strained from being up for 38 hours. With the formation of this spur-of-the-moment alliance and Samantha missing, there was utter chaos behind the scenes, 'Shit~shit! Where is she?' Every available agent was hunting for Samantha since she was the key to Optimus holding up his end of the alliance. Director Galloway also told him to forget the girl and continue with the alliance. If the Autobots wanted refuge, they would listen to their rules. General Moorshower and him disagreed.
Optimus looked down at the human, "Major Lennox." He nodded his head, "Have you any news on the state of Samantha? My men and I desire to see her."
'Shit~he is really not letting this go.' William thought, "Optimus, I will be frank with you. Now I have to ask that you remain calm." The Autobots were immediately on guard; this did not sound good, "Samantha is currently missing. She was taken to a facility for questioning, and when we went to retrieve her, she was gone."
"What!?" Ironhide shouted, "You did not think it important to tell us as soon as possible?"
Lennox waved his hands, "Whoa! Calm down. We are looking for her, alright? We just need a bit of time. However, Director Galloway is insistent that you all remain here until we can properly~"
"Shut it, flesh bag!" Sunstreaker shouted. "This alliance is a complete waste of time. Do you think we should trust any of you, especially after lying about Samantha? And that little human, Gallow~scrap, better pray he doesn't see me again, or I'll crush him."
Prowl quickly put stasis cuffs on Sunstreaker, "Sunstreaker, this is now an order. You are to remain here. We cannot risk this alliance with the humans being jeopardized." However, Prowl was now concerned. Where was Samantha?
Optimus kneeled down, a severe expression on his face, "How long has Samantha been missing?"
"Approximately 65 Hours. Now I know that sounds bad but~"
"Enough!" Optimus raised his voice. Seeing the leader of the Autobots raise his voice was rarer than finding a unicorn, "You have approximately five hours to locate and bring Samantha to us. She was extraordinarily kind in assisting us with the Allspark. And risked her life for us. My men and I will leave if she is not located by then." And this alliance would be over in a heartbeat.
"I'll inform my superior. I promise we are doing everything to find her and Mikaela." William quickly left and entered the hallway. General Moorshower was standing there with crossed arms. The only human on good terms with the Autobots was William and Epps.
"Well?" Moorshower asked? They couldn't spy on the Autobots because of the Autobot named Prowl. His sensors detected and disabled all cameras in the main hangar. If they wanted to see the Autobots, it had to be in person.
"I damn near shit my pants, but they want the girl. We have five hours to find her, or they'll leave." Lennox explained.
"Did they say why they want this girl?" What was so special about her?
"No, but I'd imagine it's because she harbored them for a month. She also saved Optimus's life. Do we have any leads on her location?"
Moorshower shook his head, "None. And Galloway is making it hard to get any work done." The general pinched the bridge of his nose as he became overly stressed about the situation. This was an alliance that could not escape their fingers. "Find this girl, alright? I don't care what it takes, who you have to pay, just find her. I'll have my analyst keep you informed."
Lennox took a deep breath, "He said we have five hours. Is that enough time?"
"Find this girl. That's an order."
(England)
Samantha was sitting outside looking at the open field. After leaving the hidden military base, they used a portkey to quickly travel to England. They were quietly waiting to hear news about the Autobots and from MACUSA. 'I hope the others are okay. I just wish I could call them.' After the last time, Prowl had given her a long series of numbers for her phone to call, which would patch her into the comm-link system for teletraan 1. 'I didn't even know my phone could type in 27 digits. At least I also wrote it down in case I broke my phone.'
As the wind blew, Samantha was pulled out of her mind by the tiny cybertronian inside her pocket, "Uh-oh," she said cutely, "Looks like someone transformed. Let me help you." Helping the small bot out of her pocket, Samantha held the cybertronian close to her face. "Good morning. How are you today?" The cybertronian tilted its head and flapped its metallic arms. "That's good to hear. I'm sorry I brought you into battle with me. I promise I'll never put you in harm's way like that again." She completely forgot he was in her pocket when she went into battle. The poor thing was trembling when she brought it here.
The little cybertronian jumped onto her leg and started nuzzling her stomach. It felt safe with its creator.
"Aww~aren't you just too adorable?" Samantha ran her finger along the metal studs of his back before rubbing underneath his beak. "You know, now that you're here, I realized you don't have a name… I mean, designation. Let's see. How does… Ratbat sound?" She had no idea where this idiotic name came from, but she attempted to make it sound like a name for one of the Autobots or Decepticons. The cybertronian shook his head. He did not like that designation. "Okay, how about, Bombstrike?" Head shake, "Sidelock?" Another head shake, "Hardspin? Stormrunner? Razorbolt?" Each suggestion was followed by a head shake. "God, I suck at names. Let's see… c'mon think… How about Lazerbeak?"
The cybertronian tilted his head before nodding. It liked this designation, something about it felt right to his spark.
"Alright! Lazerbeak it is then." Samantha smiled at the newly named Lazerbeak. "Uh… promise me you won't tell anyone I suck at giving cybertronian names." Lazerbeak made a strange growl and rubbed his head against the gentle femme. "You're too sweet."
"This place is officially amazing," Mikaela said while walking over to Samantha. "You spent your Christmas vacations here? The silverware here is worth more than my house."
"Is it a bit much?" Samantha asked, slightly embarrassed.
Mikaela sat down next to her, "I grew up in a household where our breakfasts were from chip bags, and dinner was usually stolen from the local 7-eleven."
Samantha nervously laughed, "I hope you like it here. Did Grandpa show you his car collection?"
"Are you kidding?" Mikaela shivered when she thought about Edmund's collection of cars, dating from the 1950s to now, "I think I had an orgasm when I saw it. And when he let me drive his 1963 Ford Galaxie, ugh! I have wanted to drive that car since I was five. This place beats Tranquility by a long shot." Mikaela laughed, "Seeing your family makes Trent look extremely poor."
"My family has its name in gold amongst wizardkind. But when it comes to wealth, we believe that nobody should have the silver spoon in their mouth."
"What do you mean?"
"Some families automatically think they are entitled to their family's wealth and property. If you want something, you have to work for it in my family. Everything here is just an accumulation of what my grandfather worked for. Sure we throw parties here and the occasional fancy dinner, but that is it."
"Makes sense. I'm guessing your family doesn't want anyone to become spoiled?"
"Exactly. My father bought me Bumblebee from a run-down dealership," Samantha said, "That is more than other Witwickys have done for each other. My Dad has stressed to me my entire life that if I want something, I have to work for it. Just because I'm a Witwicky doesn't mean I'm entitled to all this wealth."
"Well, you're not going to hear me argue. Look at Trent. He was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, coddled by Mommy and Daddy, and is a total asshole."
Samantha nodded, "I know we've talked about this, but, Mikaela, seriously, why are you dating him?"
Mikaela sighed in irritation at the thought of Trent, "Like I told you, my deadbeat dad was in jail, and I didn't have the money to get his ass out. Trent comes along and offers to get him out so long as we date. The truth is… when he touches me, I want to vomit. He's a complete loser and talks about all the other girls he wants to fuck." Mikaela glanced at Samantha, "And you're one of them."
"Ugh!" Samantha gagged a bit, "The thought of him touching me makes my stomach churn. Why would you tell me that?" She shivered in disgust, "How are Maggie and Glen holding up?"
"Let's see… Maggie passed out when she saw a suit of armor walking down the hall. And Glen was being a nerd and asking your father about magic when they found out. So… surprisingly well. If you don't mind me asking, why did you bring them along?"
Samantha shrugged, "I just… didn't want them to feel forgotten. Let's face it, we all experience something traumatic, so it wouldn't feel right to just forget them. In the eyes of the US government, once we outlive our usefulness to them, we'll be thrown away. I don't like to forget people."
"You really don't like the government, do you?"
"That is an understatement. Government officials think they know it all, and when people like us risk their lives, we get, what, a stupid medal? Optimus told me a few days ago how he hoped to one day establish some form of alliance with the government."
Mikaela raised a brow, "I thought you of all people would support some type of alliance."
"I do, but, Mikaela, you're not thinking about this logically. If an alliance was established, do you think the government would just let us speak with the Autobots like we used to? To them, we are civilians who were caught in the crossfire. They will push us out of the way to warm up to the Autobots. I don't want to sound like a pessimist, but it's the harsh reality."
"Ya… I guess I see your point of view. Think they'd let Bumblebee still be your guardian?"
"Doubtful," Samantha said as she stared at the open field, "The Allspark is gone. What protection do I need from them anymore? And even if they did want to protect me, the government would turn its crooked head and be against any type of meeting between us. They would undoubtedly be a 'government secret' and threaten to arrest us with treason." She gave an irritated sigh, "I'm sorry. My Grandfather is wearing off on me."
After talking for a bit, Mikaela went inside to rest in one of the many guest bedrooms. As for Samantha, she looked around cautiously before opening her new phone. Laserbeak was perched on her left shoulder. "I can't wait anymore. I have to call them." Scrolling through her contacts, Samantha called teletraan 1. "C'mon, please answer."
"This is a secure channel. Identify yourself," Prowl's voice came through the phone.
"Isn't that one way to say hello? It's nice to hear your voice, Prowl." Samantha said with a smile. She missed the sound of this bot's voice. A part of her could listen to him talk for hours about his research and plans. His voice was just so soothing.
"Samantha? Is that you?" Prowl asked in shock. Immediately, the comm-link exploded with the voices of all the different Autobots as they demanded to know where she was. Prowl was already attempting to trace the signal.
"Ow~no need to shout," Samantha said as she pulled her phone back slightly.
"Thanks, Primus! Where did ya run off to, little femme? You've had us worried. You need to stop doing this to us." Jazz said.
"Is this a joke!?" Ironhide shouted, "Where are you!? You made me think one of the cons got you."
"I'm fine, everyone," Samantha said. Even though they weren't here, she could sense their distress. "We sort of had to vanish after they took me into custody. If MACUSA finds out I was involved, it won't look pretty for me."
"Samantha," Optimus's powerful voice echoed through the phone, "What is your location? You should have notified us immediately of your absence."
"I'm fine, Optimus. I'm somewhere safe, I promise. I shouldn't be calling you, but I wanted to let you all know I was safe."
"You'll be safe once you're with us!" Ratchet shouted.
"This ain't funny, Samantha. Where are you!?" Sideswipe demanded. He needed to know she was close to him and his brother.
"I can't tell you. I'm sorry." There was an outcry of shouting from the men on the other end. Optimus was more aggressive in demanding her location. As for Prowl, he was struggling to pinpoint her location. He narrowed it down to somewhere in England. Prowl opened a secondary channel and told the other Autobots to keep her on the line.
"Aww~c'mon now, little femme. How can I thank the cute femme who saved my aft over the phone?" Jazz said.
"We'll talk later, I promise. Also… I'm not dumb. I know Prowl is tracing this call. So I'm breaking my phone after this. Remember that hill that overlooks Tranquility?" Her question had all the Autobots confused… besides Optimus. He knew exactly where she was speaking of. "I'll be there at 6:30 tomorrow evening." Samantha ended the call and tossed her phone to the ground. "Bombarda!" She cast the spell, and her phone exploded.
"Samantha!?" Optimus held his earpiece and tuned his frequency. The Prime was growling as the signal was lost.
Ironhide huffed, "That damn, femme! When I get my servos on her, she'll pay for this!" He hated feeling worried!
Prowl's wings were twitching, and a sneer took over his face, "I traced her location to England. But I was unable to pinpoint where." He was ashamed. Prowl had traced calls far quicker, and Samantha was smart enough to destroy her phone. He both respected and loathed her for this. She was smart enough to keep the call brief and knew he was tracing her… this femme knew him better than he thought. 'I will need to make certain this never happens again… I shall have to resort to an unethical way of tracking Samantha.'
(Next Day)
The Autobots arrived at the meeting location an hour early and waited for Samantha to arrive. They were all very agitated and impatient. All of them needed to see if Samantha was safe. They never should have allowed her to leave in the first place. As for the government, Optimus expressed that they were not pets or property to be kept hidden. If this alliance was ever going to flourish, they had a right to leave when they chose.
Optimus was relieved General Moorshower allowed them to leave without anyone following. Optimus's spark was filled with fear and want. Losing track of Samantha just after they got her back was a horrible feeling. While the Allspark might be gone, he was grateful it did not fall into the Decepticon's hands. However, Optimus knew what this meant for his planet. It was ultimately doomed to be a wasteland forever.
"Optimus," Ratchet said, "We need to discuss what Samantha did to the Allspark."
Ironhide looked over, "I knew that femme was powerful, but she blew up the Allspark with that magic of hers. Scrap… I didn't think anything could destroy that thing." The Allspark was virtually indestructible. They weren't even sure if merging the cube with Optimus's spark would destroy it.
Optimus looked at his men, "The nature of what happened to the Allspark must never reach the other Autobots." All of them, including Sunstreaker, knew that Samantha would be shunned and despised for her actions. To destroy the Allspark doomed their planet, but they all understand the risk. The Allspark could not fall into Decepticon hands.
"You'd better be a good liar, Optimus. Because everyone is gonna ask questions." Jazz said bitterly. 'Scrap… that femme made the right choice, and now she'll be hated.' He doubted any of his fellow Autobots would believe Optimus's original plan to use the Allspark on himself. Everyone on Cybertron knew Optimus sought to protect the Allspark at all costs.
Sunstreaker was farther back and looked at the ground with a deep glare, 'That femme was strong enough to destroy the fragging Allspark?' His anger rose at the idea of Samantha being shunned or attacked by other cybertronians. This was all Optimus's fault!
Sideswipe stood next to his brother, "Where is she? It's 5:54? I shouldn't have let her out of my sight." He turned to Sunstreaker, "I guess that femme of ours is a lot more powerful with that magic of hers than we thought."
"No scrap," Sunstreaker grumbled. "The femme probably thinks we're mad at her."
"What are you talking about? Why would we be mad?" Sideswipe asked, slightly confused.
"Are you fragging serious? She's not stupid… she knows she destroyed the only thing to revive our planet and is probably thinking we're angry." He explained.
"That's stupid!" Sideswipe shouted, "I'd never think that!" He would erase any doubt this femme possibly had about him or his brother being angry with her. Cooling his systems, Sideswipe looked over his brother, "So… you think our femme is smart, huh?"
"Shut up," Sunstreaker said with a glare. He knew where this was going.
"What? I'm just saying we're both in agreement." He threw his servo over Sunstreaker's shoulder and grinned before whispering, "Can you just imagine us using our holoforms to interface with that sexy little human? I want that scent of hers to be trapped with us as we interface with her on our berth. Just imagine her trying to take both our spikes… no femme has ever been able to handle us both, but I think she can."
"Shut up," Sunstreaker ground his denture as his spike pressurized.
Sideswipe chuckled darkly and rubbed the plate covering his spike, "You wanna do this the hard way, fine." He projected an image through their bond of what he thought Samantha would look like as a cybertronian.
Sunstreaker trembled as his spike threatened to break his interface plate, 'Damn you! Gah!' It was taking all his strength not to grab his spike and pleasure himself to the beautiful image of Samantha taking his spike. Human or not, he wanted this femme for himself.
Jazz looked around the hillside, trying to spot Samantha, "Where is she?" After saving his spark, Jazz knew there was no more doubt that he wanted this femme as his sparkmate. She stood up against Megatron! Even for a Cybertronian, that was brave. Closing his optics, Jazz embraced the idea of Samantha curled up inside his spark chamber. 'Now that's a sight I wanna see with my femme.'
Prowl was trying to keep his wings still, 'Samantha was foolish to escape our sensors. I shall not allow this to happen again.' Were she Cybertronian, he would lock her in the brig on the Ark, 'Perhaps the brig is too severe. Yes… the only suitable location would be on my desk.' His wings were going crazy as he attempted to ignore his Praxian instincts. The cruel image of Samantha trapped in a pair of stasis cuffs as he used his holoform to interface with her drove his spark mad. Behind his blue visor, his red optics burned brightly as he started to pant. Steam was escaping his mouth. 'This is the only solution. Samantha is going down a dangerous path, and I must stop it.' His optics rolled back as he envisioned a femme with white armor and a pair of sleek door wings holding him as he overloaded into her valve. Prowl was smiling as he became lost to his desires.
Ironhide wasn't attempting to hide his growing desire. The smell of the other Autobots was wearing on him, 'So they're all thinking about my femme, huh? Can't blame them.' Ironhide growled as his spike throbbed. 'I might not be able to feel with my holoform, but I want to see that femme struggle to stand after I'm done fragging her senseless.' Ironhide knew it was wrong to think this way, but hearing how powerful Samantha was and that she destroyed the Allspark with her magic was a major turn-on for him. He wanted a femme who was strong. 'Chromia has got nothing on my femme.'
Optimus closed his intake valve's as he attempted to ignore the smells of his men, especially Prowl. As a Praxian, his scent could lead other mechs to have heightened levels of lust and a need for interfacing. 'Forgive me, Samantha. This is not a burden I had wanted to place upon you.' He was fully prepared to leave this universe as the Prime who doomed Cybertron to a wasteland by destroying the Allspark. He would be despised by both Autobot and Decepticons throughout the cosmos. However, Samantha was the one who carried out his duty. By saving his spark, she doomed herself to the wrath of any Cybertronian who wasn't here. 'I refuse to allow my species to misjudge an innocent spark.'
A loud cracking sound caught the Autobots' attention. High above was a bright swirling vortex that seemed to alter space itself. They were on guard but frozen when Samantha came shooting towards the ground, "Whoa! Arresto Momentum!" She recited the spell at the last moment before she nearly crashed to the ground. Samantha was breathing heavily before looking up as she levitated off the ground, "Hi guys. Oof!" The spell quickly faded, and she landed on the ground. "Sorry about that… I must have not cast the spell on that portkey properly."
"For the love of Primus, there you are!" Ratchet shouted before marching over, "Have you suffered a concussion!? How dare you just leave without proper authorization!" The medic was fuming. "How is your hand?"
Samantha gave a nervous laugh as she attempted to calm them down. "I'm sorry, really. I didn't mean to worry any of you. To be honest, I wasn't sure if you really wanted to see me after… well… you know."
"You made an appropriate choice, Samantha." Prowl said firmly, "Our only option was to destroy the Allspark. You did that and saved Optimus's spark." Without Optimus, there was no Autobot cause.
"You all keep saying that, but still I feel horrible for~"
Jazz kneeled down, "Nope! I don't wanna hear it, little femme. Don't think for an astro-second that we blame you. Now I also know how powerful you are with that little stick." Samantha was blushing, "Thanks for saving my spark back there. I don't forget things like that." When Megatron had him, he was prepared to be one with Primus. But Samantha was a beam of light and saved him against all odds. This femme completely won over his spark. They loved to talk about music, she made him laugh, and the stories they shared made his coolant tank bubble. Samantha was a unique individual, and he wanted her for himself.
Bumblebee got down and was about to grab his charge but stopped himself, "My new legs are also doing great, thanks to you. Though Ratchet keeps wanting to do scans. Care for a ride?" He hadn't driven too much with his rebuilt legs.
Samantha was blushing as all the Autobots complimented her… and continued to yell at her for leaving them. Sideswipe was scared she'd run away, and he'd never see her again, or so he kept telling her. "Aww~were you that scared I'd run away from you guys?" She teased Sideswipe, who continued to huff.
"Samantha," Optimus spoke, "We owe you a great debt for what you have done."
She grimaced, "I'm kind of doubtful. I did doom your planet. If… um… if it means anything to all of you. I tried to use magic to mend the Allspark, but it was too far gone to be repaired."
"Had Megatron obtained the AllSpark, our planet would have been doomed in a different darkness," Optimus said firmly. "You also saved my spark from obliteration, and for that, I am deeply indebted to you." Optimus could not say for certain if he would become one with Primus had merged the Allspark with his own spark. The raw energy from the cube could have ravaged his spark to nothingness, a thought that truly frightened him.
"No need to be so noble," She replied with a smile, "So, what are your plans now? Will you return to Cybertron and try to fix what you can without the Allspark?"
Optimus shook his head, "Cybertron is now but a wasteland. Staying would leave us exhausted due to the lack of energon. Given our limited options, we have decided to remain on Earth… given the approval of your country's government." Samantha glanced over at Sunstreaker and felt confused. Why wasn't he shouting?
Jazz was silently cheering, "It looks like you and I are gonna have a lot more time together. Care to show me some more of that killer music you humans have?"
Prowl shook his head, "Samantha has been through a rather traumatic experience. I do not believe music will soothe her nerves."
"Pff~like hell it will. C'mon, Samantha, what's say you blow a crater into that field over there. An explosion always makes me feel better." Ironhide said with a grin. "Also, that gift of yours saved my tailpipe." He reached into his chest plate and pulled out the magical gadget.
"I'll admit, that is a tempting offer, Ironhide, but I'd rather not have MACUSA apparating here. Magic like that leaves traces, unfortunately, so they'd sniff out who cast the spell." Ironhide huffed… Why couldn't his femme have any fun with magic? MACUSA made so many rules it put Prowl's Autobot manual to shame.
"Do not taint her, Ironhide!" Ratchet shouted, "I already deal with enough drama from these two scrap heads." He pointed to Sideswipe and Sunstreaker.
"Hey! Who are you calling a scrap head!?" Sideswipe shouted.
"Say that to my faceplate!" Sunstreaker barked back.
Samantha shook her head and sighed, "All right, that's enough." She conjured her wand and shot enchanted bolts at the three arguing mechs, "Melofors." They stumbled back and held their helms as their vision went black. Ironhide and Jazz laughed their tailpipes off as comically sized pumpkins concealed their helms. Sunstreaker was struggling to get the pumpkin off.
"This isn't funny! Get this thing off me!" Sunstreaker shouted. He lifted his fist and punched the side of the pumpkin, but it immediately grew back.
"What did I do!?" Ratchet shouted, "Samantha, this is not funny."
Samantha wiggled her fingers, "Finite." The pumpkins cracked before exploding off their heads. Sideswipe was messing with his jaw. The red mech looked down with wide optics.
"That was hilarious! Why did you never show me that!? Oh! I could have pulled the perfect prank!" Sideswipe lamented. He didn't care that he had his head stuck in a pumpkin. It was a surreal experience.
As they bickered with Ratchet, Samantha walked over to Optimus, "As you can see… I meant what I said when I would turn your head into a pumpkin. So take that as a hint if you ever pull me out of my window again, Optimus."
Optimus looked at the human and nodded, "I do not envy facing your wrath." Kneeling down, he presented his hand. Samantha sat on his hand as he lifted her up. Optimus was smiling at her. It was rare to see him smile.
"By the way, Optimus, you shouldn't need the approval of our muggle government to stay here. You're seeking asylum, and we're willing to risk your life for a species that doesn't know you exist." She leaned close to his audio receptor, "My words might mean little to the higher powers that be, but you can stay on Earth for as long as you please."
"That is very kind of you." But Optimus couldn't stop his spark from burning with hope. This truly was a beautiful planet and Samantha's thoughts on them staying here were important to him.
Samantha cleared her throat, "Optimus, there is something you should know. And I hope you listen to what I have to say."
"Your opinion and thoughts are important to us, Samantha. I will always heed your concerns."
Samantha spoke up, making sure the others could hear her, "I just wanted to warn you about humans, especially the government. Don't put your full trust in them. The muggle government in the US doesn't care about you, not like wizards would, and I'd wager once your usefulness expires, they'll try to get rid of you."
"What are you talkin' about, little spark?" Jazz asked, "All the humans I have met so far are pretty wicked… though they do need to live it up a bit."
Samantha looked over at him, "The average human, the one's walking the streets, won't mind you being here. Granted… you'll scare them at first, but if they see you aren't a threat, they'll come to their senses. It's the government I don't trust. They're greedy politicians who call the shots and refuse to let anyone help unless they work under them. Amongst wizardkind, it is frowned upon to stop someone from doing their duty to help. Technically, an aurora is forbidden to stop a wizard who wants to help for the greater good."
Sunstreaker looked at Samantha, "I can't believe I'm admitting this, but I agree with the human. That Galloway guy rubs my servos the wrong way."
"Is there any advice you could offer us from a diplomatic point of view, Samantha?" Prowl asked.
"Advice?" Samantha tried to think about what to say, "Don't share your technology or weaponry. Humans don't need it. At most, I would recommend handing over intel on your species' history and the war. Personally, I think it is a bad idea, Optimus, that you want to form an alliance with the government. The day will come where your usefulness will expire, and they'll turn on you."
Optimus nodded, "Then I will prepare for that day, but I hope it is avoidable."
"Then what the scrap are we supposed to do after that!?" Sideswipe shouted. "If they're gonna stab us in the back, why bother?" He'd rather just stay with Samantha. He didn't need help from the US government.
"You've already exposed yourself on a large scale. The government knows about you. I would recommend you contact MACUSA; there are wizarding laws written into our constitution that are binding. If you seek asylum on American soil, the Magical Congress is forbidden by powerful magic to force you out."
"How is that possible?" Prowl asked, slightly intrigued.
"Wizard law is absolute. When MACUSA was founded, a constitution was written with ancient runes and spells. It is literally impossible for them to violate your constitutional rights, which you have, on American soil. Attempting to violate these laws will cause severe pain for anyone who works for MACUSA. The founding wizards of America wanted a binding constitution that limits the power of government, literally, and prohibits corruption. Their only concern is keeping magic hidden from muggles and making certain wizards are safe."
"I find this hard to analyze, but I trust your word." Prowl said before smiling. "I would be grateful if you could explain these magical laws."
Jazz raised his servo, "Now hold on an astro-click, if that's yer government's job, why did they pass that silly law for your kind. Scrap~what was it… rappa~something?
"Rappaport's law was a loophole in the wizarding constitution. Since it offered security for wizards, as it so claimed, it was able to be written into law. Not magical law, mind you. Laws written by MACUSA can no longer be written with magic, a by-law in the founder's constitution." Samantha was smiling. The founding wizards of America had written a strong constitution which made it impossible for the current government to poke holes into it.
Optimus leaned close to Samantha, "Had something of this nature existed on Cybertron, I'd imagine our war would have turned out differently." Peace deals between Megatron and him happened a few times in the past. Neither Optimus nor Megatron wanted the war to continue, but neither could agree on terms. Both sides of their causes desired justice against the other if peace was achieved. Too much bad energon has been spilled for them to make peace and pretend nothing happened.
(Minutes Later)
Optimus stood looking up at the sky as he finished relaying an encoded message to his fellow Autobots among the stars. Surprisingly, it was Samantha's idea for him to send a message.
"So, how is that message coming, Optimus?" Samantha asked with a grin as she looked up at the handsome leader. Sometimes she could stop but stare at Optimus. 'Why does he have to be so handsome!? It's not fair!'
"My message has been transmitted. Only time will tell if it reaches any Autobots who linger. You are a very hospitable femme to propose offering your planet as a refuge to our ranks."
"Never underestimate human kindness," Samantha said with a bright smile. "But, Optimus, while I know… how do I put this… you know I can't have you telling anyone about magic, right?"
Optimus nodded, "I understand your concerns. Your secrets and abilities will remain with my team. I will not compromise your trust in me." Though he did hope to one day expose magic to his fellow Autobots. It was a marvelous ability and sight to witness. Humans should be proud to have such unique powers. Optimus has never seen something as powerful and foreign as magic through the countless planets and solar systems he has visited.
Samantha left Optimus and walked over to Prowl, who was standing under a large tree, "Enjoying the sight, Prowl."
Prowl looked down, "Indeed. I sometimes forget how beautiful your planet is." The greenery was pleasing to his optics. "How are you this evening?"
"I'm good. Though I actually came over here to sort of help you." Prowl tilted his head, "Your door wings are slightly broken. If you want, I could fix it for you."
Prowl kneeled down, "I would be grateful for your assistance." He turned slightly and gave Samantha a clear sight of his door wings.
"Alright, try not to move." Stepping back, she took her wand out and dramatically flourished it over her head, "Reparo," A hollow sound could be heard from her wand. Magic had a unique noise to it. Prowl grabbed the soil as his wings started to fold back together. Damaged cables reconnected with his back, and the joint holding his wings together were twitching as her magic graced every inch of his wings.
Prowl gave a shaken breath of steam as his cooling unit overheated. Closing his optics, he embraced the tingling sensation of magic on his wings. Behind his interface plate, his spike was pressurized and dripping with protofluid. Somewhere, in his now mended processor, Prowl imagined having this femme handcuffed to his desk on the Ark as he overloaded into her valve. 'Forgive me, Samantha, for my inappropriate desires.' Human or not, the thought of his protofluid coating and dripping out of her valve sent electric shocks across his protoform. Her scent was still as potent as the day they met. Were Samantha to enter Praxus during its golden age, Prowl wouldn't doubt if every mech within the city-state fought for her attention. It was a scent so unique and innocent. His spark wanted to wrap around her and make her experience a nearly endless cycle of overloading.
Once Samantha finished his wings, she walked around, stood under his head, and looked directly up, "How are your wings feeling now? I think it should be a crime to let such elegant wings get damaged."
"My wings are nothing special, Samantha," Prowl said shakenly. Why did she keep thinking his wings were special? They were average. Nothing to take a second glance at.
Samantha giggled and gave him an innocent smile, "I don't think so. Your wings are elegant, and I doubt I'll meet a mech who has better ones."
Prowl's spark was exploding with lust, "You have never met another Cybertronian from Praxus. My wings are considered average. In a manner of speaking."
"I don't need to see another mech's door wings to know I'm looking at the best." She stated, "Sideswipe and Sunstreaker say you're too strict and by the books, but honestly, I'm happy to see that you take such a dedication to your work."
'Stop talking… my spark cannot restrain itself.' Prowl thought as he reached for his chest plate. "Samantha, I know this might sound strange, but given your interest in our protoforms. Would you be interested in examining my spark?"
Samantha's eyes widened, "Optimus and Sideswipe showed me their sparks. It was strange, but it looked so different, yet they were both just balls of light. If you're willing, I'd love to see your spark. I bet it looks just as elegant as your door wings."
Prowl stopped himself when he noticed Jazz was leaning against the tree. "May you excuse me for a moment " He stood up and walked over to the smaller Autobot. Both were sneering and speaking in a strange dialect. After a bit of obvious arguing, they stopped briefly to stare at Samantha, who gave them a little wave.
"Everything all right between you two?"
Prowl and Jazz locked up and turned back to one another. They turned back and spoke quickly. Jazz kept looking at Samantha and Prowl before nodding. This argument was pointless, and he couldn't bear the thought of Samantha thinking she was the cause of their arguing.
Jazz walked over with Prowl and grinned, "Prowl tells me your interests in spark. Well, why didn't you tell me sooner? Just give me a second." Samantha was confused as Jazz went to Optimus. "Optimus, If it isn't too much, Samantha offered to show Prowl and me around. You won't mind if we snatch her away for a bit."
Optimus glanced over at Samantha as she spoke with Prowl. He didn't like seeing Samantha so close to his men. His spark could sense something else and burned with jealousy. "If you notice signs of Decepticons, your priority is to ensure Samantha's safety."
(Meanwhile, in England)
The sun was rising, and Mikaela was sitting inside a greenhouse surrounded by magical plants. "Thank you for the food. Samantha has told me a lot about you."
"Has she?" Edmund said with a smile, "Nothing but good thoughts, I hope."
"For the most part. This is all still a little surreal for me. Magic, aliens, and… It's a lot to take in." Mikaela said as she sipped her coffee. The coffee cup alone looked more expensive than anything she had. "Samantha told me you could see the future. That's pretty incredible."
"Ah~yes!" Edmund tapped the corner of his eye, "I am a seer. Very rarely do wizards have the ability to see the horrors of the future."
Mikaela stopped drinking her coffee and lowered it, "Horrors? You make the future sound dark."
Edmund gave the naive girl a smile, "Young lady, it takes a cold eye to see the future for what it is."
"So… are you able to see my future?" Mikaela asked nervously.
"Hehe~yes, this is a question I get often." Edmund laughed, "I'm afraid it does not work that way. The future shows itself to me, not the other way around. It's a bloody nightmare if you ask me. Knowing what is to come and attempting to change it, or keep it the same."
"Are you able to change the future? Say you saw something and didn't want it to happen."
Edmund shrugged a little, "I'm afraid it is not that simple. Changing the future is difficult. You know not if your actions, or inactions, will cause what has been seen. In my youth, I tried to meddle with time and the future… I have since learned my lesson."
"More tea, sir?"
Mikaela jumped up and gasped, "Who are you!?" There was a robot with blue optics and a speaker for his mouth.
Cogman bowed while rolling his hand, "A pleasure to meet you, Madam Banes. I am Cogman, servant of the Witwicky family and bloodline. I advise you to sit down before you become trapped in the devil snare behind you."
Mikaela looked back and saw a large mass of black vine creeping out from under a dark shelf. "Oh my gosh." Cogman walked over and turned on a UV light from his optics. There was a screeching sound as the vines crept back into the dark shelf.
"Cogman?" Mikaela sat down while looking at the machine, "Wait~wait~you mean, as in Samantha's imaginary friend."
"I can guarantee that I am not imaginary. And I'd prefer in future reference that you address me as Miss Witwicky's best friend… if you don't mind." Cogman was already acting smug about his relationship with Samantha.
Edmund grabbed his cane and hit Cogman on the head, "Enough out of you. Bloody, toaster, you are. This is our guest, and I do not want you to make her feel uncomfortable."
Cogman rolled his optics, "Of course, my lord, so long as she recognizes the superiority I have as Samantha's friend, exceeds her own relationship."
Mikaela sat back and raised a brow, "Listen here, little leprechaun, Samantha is my friend."
"Leprechauns are small, green, and Irish. That, my dear girl, is very offensive." Cogman grabbed his chest plate. A magical mist caused Cogman's armor to shine before he was blasted through the greenhouse and when flying through a window.
Edmund set his wand on the table as Mikaela backed up in her seat. "Forgive him. He has a screw loose." Edmund stated as he sipped his cup of coffee.
Mikaela looked between the hole in the greenhouse and Edmund, "Is he always such an ass?"
"I'm afraid so, my dear. But never mind him. He is just jealous of your relationship with Samantha. Nothing to worry about."
Hot Rod was woken up from recharge outside the greenhouse as Cogman went flying through the greenhouse wall and straight into his windshield. He just got it fixed! Transforming, Hot Rod grabbed Cogman from his chest plate and threw him to the ground. "What the hell!?" He asked with his french accent. The mech growled as he grabbed his throat. Would the spell ever wear off, or was he cursed for life to sound like a french man?
Cogman arched his back and jumped to his feet, "No need to throw a fit. And I would appreciate it if you did not throw me into the ground." The evil robot stared at Hot Rod's fingers, "Not unless you desire another broken digit."
Hot Rod looked at the mansion and tapped his fingers together, "Edmund a dit que Samantha est ici. Est-ce vrai?" [Edmund said Samantha is here. Is this true?]
"Yes, though you have been forbidden to see her."
Hot Rod sneered, and flames shot out of his exhaust pipes, "Pourquoi!?" [Why?] He shouted in utter rage. He had not seen Samantha in years, and now that she had returned, her scent had evolved into something beyond description. Hot Rod has waited longer than any mech for Samantha… he deserved to have her cuddle and kiss his spark.
Cogman sniffed the air and frowned, "Is your processor filled with nothing but interfacing? The nerve of you."
"Vous ne savez pas ce que c'est!" [You don't know what it is like!]
Not wanting to argue with Cogman, Hot Rod transformed and drove down the dirt road. After a half-hour of driving, he transformed and collapsed on his back. The cybertronian's optics were bright as he grasped his interface panel. 'S~scrap! It's been too long since I saw her… Primus! She looks ravishing.' The mech grunted as his spike pressurized and started breaking his interface panel.
Collapsing to his back, Hot Rod stared at the stars as his protoform burned. 'She's so fragging pretty. How could she ever want a mech with a cursed vocal processor? It's not fair! If… If I just had my original voice.' On Cybertron, Hot Rod could make almost any femme tremble by his voice. It was deep and soothing. 'She'd laugh at me if she ever heard me talk. Scrap! How did I come to this!? The Captain of the Lost Light brought to pleasuring himself in a forest.' Before the Great War, Hot Rod was put in charge of the Lost Light. A large cybertronian ship spanning over 15 miles in length and 10 miles wide. It was a feat of Cybertronian engineering.
The primary directive of the Lost Light was to locate the Knights of Cybertron, which were now believed to be a myth. With his co-captain, Ultra Magnus, they were supposed to search the universe for signs of these missing knights. However, things for the Lost Light had not gone as planned. There was an accident with the ship's quantum warp drive, which scattered their ship to a region far outside the Milky Way Galaxy. Farther than any known Cybertronian map of the stars, the Lost Light and its crew were farther from the known universe than any Cybertronians in history. Returning to Cybertron, let alone their own Galaxy seemed impossible.
The crew of the Lost Light wandered the stars for countless years, finding no signs of their galaxy or signs of intelligent life. Amongst the chaos, Hot Rod kept his crew in line and reminded them of the Lost Light's directive to find the Knights of Cybertron. Energon was not a hard substance to produce because of the Lost Light's state-of-the-art energon infuser. By harnessing solar radiation, they could convert solar rays into energon. The adventures on the Lost Light could have Hot Rod talking for years. He cherished everything they went through.
After nearly a million years of wandering the stars, the Lost Light had picked up a unique signal that nearly overloaded their systems. The source had randomly appeared, like a star in the night, as the humans say, leading them back to their galaxy. The crew of the Lost Light was in shock and utter joy at the thought of returning to their galaxy. However, their mission had never changed. This was nearly 300 years ago. And the Lost Light had warped to the strange signal coming from this planet. Earth… as the natives called it.
Due to the need to conserve energon during the warping process, the crew was put into stasis. All 250 of them. Hot Rod was the only one to awaken from stasis since he was Captain. The rest of the crew could only be woken after the Captain decides it is in the crew's best interest. Hibernation-stasis was a long process, and cybertronians should only be reactivated if required. Hot Rod also knew that their stores of energon would not last long with all of them awake.
The Lost Light crashed into the planet due to a mystical force in Earth's atmosphere. The planet was metaphorically a giant magnet that fried their systems. As explained by Edmund, to which Hot Rod still had doubts, Earth was the centerfold of magic in the universe. Within the entirety of this endless universe, this tiny speck of a planet was the centerpoint of magic. Its origin and birth. Without Earth, there would be no magic.
Hot Rod looked across the long open field owned by the Witwicky family. All 20 miles in both directions with zero inhabitants on it. Edmund's manor was far from this field. There was a reason he visited this spot so often. 'The crew will have one hell of a story from me once they wake up.'
A few feet away, the very tip of the Lost Light's antenna was poking out of the ground.
(End of Chapter 13)
(To be continued!)
(Author Notes)
I hope you all enjoyed chapter 13. Please forgive me for the long delay. Between writing into this and my other stories, there was a bit of juggling I needed to do. Also, I suffered from major writer's block for this chapter. I rewrote this entire chapter three times, due to me not liking the other versions, which would have completely changed the story's direction.
Also, we get to hear more about the Lost Light! *Begin's foaming from the mouth!* Next chapter, I am actually thinking about doing a one-shot with Hot Rod. Meaning the entire chapter will be focused on him and the Lost Light. I feel that such a chapter would be great for the story's background. And who wouldn't want to hear about this fantastic ship? Not to mention we will get an explanation of why the Lost Light found its way back to their galaxy. Let's just say something magical happened. Following this, we will hear about what happened to Megatron and the others. Hmmm… I wonder where Archibald is (0.0') I know that some of you are also suprised by that twist with Cogman and Edmund. You all probably thought Edmund wanted him to take Optimus, didn't you? Hmmm... Nova Prime... So many things happening.
As you can also see, Samantha didn't forget about Maggie or Glen. She is so sweet. I just feel bad for what those two had to witness. Archibald is not the man he used to be. If I do not to the one-shot with Hot Rod, then it will continue off with Jazz and Prowl asking for a moment of Samantha's time ;D
Since I know some people will probably be commenting on this. Cybertron, in this story, is located in the Milky Way galaxy.
