[Juvia POV]
in Middle-school,
.
She held my hand, but my gaze lingered on her lips: at the honey glossing on the remnants of crimson, which was her lipstick. She was towering over me, her neck craned in an elegant bent, her chestnut fringes reminded me of chestnuts; she was gorgeous. But my psyche must've been somewhere else.
"Why did you put your diary in my locker?"
After making sure there weren't any eavesdroppers (potential gossipers) near a stone's throw apart from us, she turned her head to look at me.
"I don't like what you're doing. Ju-vi-a..."
Her eyes narrowed in scrutiny as if she was trying to etch a portrait of my emotions on an imaginary canvas in her mind. But I remained as impassive as a grumpy pumpkin could be when I just shrugged my shoulders and glanced away, making a show of natural ignorance.
Cana Alberona was the profound drunkard of Crocus Aurore Academe. The lass held a majestic air of coolness, with her impeccable statuesque figure added to her bitchy cleverness. Talking about bitchiness, it appeared like the not-so-best day of my life. Cana's hands were readily finding their place on the collar of my disheveled baby blue shirt, yanking at it. Her lifted left leg nimbly landed on the edge of my left shoulder.
Oh...
That's how I knew, I'm screwed.
"Why did you draw love on every page? Was it meant for me?"
Of course!
If not for that, why the hell should I put it there?
My mouth shut up like a clam, just as I expected. At the moment, I found that odd notch on the wooden floor more fascinating than before. Silence means yes. Cana shook her head, mumbling something incoherent under her breath.
My heart had wings, flapping hard to fly out of the cage of my chest, in a beat so erratic.
Huh, wasn't she planning to throw me out the window sill?
Wait, wait, did she read it?!
Did she read my diary!?
I was trying to wriggle out of her hold when something cold smacked me at the center of my forehead. I was ready to blackout at the next passing second.
Was this her way of murdering?
Then I'd say it's pretty sloppy, not to mention lame.
"A clam?!"
I looked down at that despicable thing in disbelief.
Who knew something as unintelligent as a clam could cause this much agony to something as thick as my head? Excuse me, but I like poetry, and mind you, I'm not thickheaded.
"Wear it. It's for you."
With that, Cana scooted off, sprinting athwart the fading brick walls. I held the pale object in my arm, my lips curved in an incredulous smirk.
How the hell am I supposed to 'wear' it?
But now, that wasn't my concern. I had leaden clouds hovering upon my heart, my grey orbs downcast. She didn't give me the answer I wanted.
It would rain soon.
I tossed the clam aside, dropping it hard on the floor. That's when something caught my eyes: among the broken pieces that laid, a blue sparkle. It was a ring of sapphire stone. Something clicked in my head as I slipped the ring on my ring finger.
It wasn't unrequited anymore.
That's how Cana Alberona "crash-landed" into my life. I was as happy as a clam in butter sauce.
Author's Note:
Those are the kind of thoughts that went through tiny Juvia's mind.
I did not edit it. There will be mistakes. This is something I had written a few years ago, but decided to post it now :D
Thanks for reading!
