The Count of Kuoh
A Naruto/Highschool DxD crossover
Summary: One evening a dark power came to Kuoh. It appeared suddenly, interfering in the fight between the heiress of the Gremory Devil family and a rogue group of Fallen Angels. And it would keep interfering for a long time. After all, Naruto Uzumaki always looked after his precious people, and he always looked after the people that helped them.

Rias Gremory stared down at the chessboard in front of her, eyebrows furrowed. Her opponent, Sona Sitri, was up a bishop and a knight, and was just about to put her king in check.
"You're distracted today." The black-haired heiress said, moving one of her rooks into place. "And also, in check."
"I know." Rias muttered with a wince, moving her king out of the way.
"It's coming close to that time, isn't it?" Sona adjusted her glasses "You've been letting it affect you too much lately. Fretting over the problem won't help you solve it. Also, you're in check again."
"Dammit." Rias sighed.
"Is Hyoudou not working out well?"
"He… could be a lot better. It's difficult to get him to focus on anything that isn't perverse."
"There's nothing wrong with being lustful." Sona remarked.
"But there is a time and a place for everything. All he wants to do is ogle the four of us, when he'd be better off directing his energy towards completing contracts. I'm not the only one that would help. And then there's this whole business with the nun. I just know he's not going to let it die. He's too stubborn for his own good."
"Of course. You could always…" Sona trailed off as Rias stood up, walking over to the window and staring out into the darkness.
"Do you feel that." She whispered.
"Yes. The power… I only felt it briefly, but it was intense." The black-haired Devil walked up next to her red-haired counterpart. "If the power we felt belongs to someone who could be converted… such a servant's master would be able to accomplish anything."
The two Devils exchanged a look, blue eyes clashing with violet, and in one voice they yelled out: "DIBS!"

In another part of town, in a park next to an old, abandoned church, Issei Hyoudou, brown-haired pervert and pawn of Rias Gremory sat on a bench. He was hunched over, deep in thought.
He'd met a girl the day before, a golden-haired and golden-hearted former nun named Asia Argento assigned to a church in town. He'd spent the day with her, showing her around and having fun, only to be met by his Kings afterwards. In no uncertain words, Rias forbade him from seeing the girl again.
Only, he had, that very morning. And she was in trouble, he was sure of it. She was housed in the abandoned church, under the thumb of at least one Fallen Angel, maybe more. And Rias had, once again, forbidden him from interfering.
Issei couldn't understand why. Who cared if she was a member of a different faction? She was a cute girl who needed help! He jumped up on his feet, fist clenched in front of him and eyes determined, before slumping down again.
Maybe the President was right. He was in way over his head. He didn't want to die before getting his own harem.
Still…
"You look troubled." A blond guy about his age sat down next to him. He was dressed in a black suit with an orange dress-shirt under it, and his eyes were hidden behind opaque black lenses.
And seriously, who the hell wore sunglasses in the middle of the night.
"It's nothing."
"You're lying to me." The blond grinned. "Can't say I blame you. I did just come out of nowhere. The name's Naruto Uzumaki." He offered a handshake.
"Issei Hyoudou. Nice to meet you." Perverted though he may have been, Issei's mother did manage to beat manners into his head.
"Now we're not strangers. So, tell me, what's wrong."
"Well… it's like this. There's this girl, see. She's new in town, and I've been spending some time with her. But my… President, the leader of my school club, doesn't want me to meet with her again, since she's in a rival club. But she's so cute! I just can't stay away!" Issei jumped up again, earning a raised eyebrow from Naruto.
"You seem fired up. What's the issue, then? Just go behind her back."
"The new girl's in some sort of trouble, I just know it. I have to save her!"
"Then save her." Naruto shrugged.
"What do you mean?"
"I mean, are you a man or a sniveling lump of meat?"
"Hey."
"You're sitting here, feeling sorry for yourself, while a person you know is in trouble. Are you really willing to let what your leader says cost the girl her life?"
"No!"
"Then go!" Naruto stood up, pointing at the abandoned church. Right, the Fallen Angels were in there, Issei had almost forgotten. "Charge through the enemy lines like a man, SEARCH AND DESTROY! CRUSH ANY RESISTANCE YOU ENCOUNTER!"
"RIGHT!"
"What are you waiting for, then? GO! GO!"
"I'M GOING!" Issei shot up and started running towards the church. Naruto looked to the side and saw two more figures following him. The blond gave a low chuckle.
"This should be a fun night." He stood up and slowly started walking towards the holy building. "Time to go introduce myself."

The inside of the abandoned church was a mess. Issei was standing at the end of the pews, in front of the altar. Between him and the unmoving body of a young girl stood three people, two winged and one not. Behind him were his fellow Peerage members, Koneko Toujou and Kiba Yuuto, and behind them, in front of the closed entrance, his King and another girl, the Queen of the Peerage, Akeno Himejima. At their feet were two other women, a short blonde and a tall blue-haired one. Issei was pretty sure they were dead.
"You may have killed my two subordinates, but you're too late." The central figure, a black-haired woman with two large black wings on her back, mocked, showing off a pair of silver rings. "With Twilight Healing in my hands, I'll be unstoppable. And you, dear Issei, will be dead."
"Damn you!" The brown-haired teen yelled through gritted teeth. "Give them back to Asia!"
"Oh, she won't be using them anytime soon, I assure you." The woman, Raynare or Yuma or whatever her name was, motioned to the still figure on the altar. "She's going to be quite indisposed for a long time. But don't you worry, dear, I'll take good care of them."
"I'm going to kill you!" Issei snarled, ignoring the calls of his friends.
Suddenly the closed door thumped loudly. As one, every head turned to the door, seeing it shake in its hinges as it thumped again. On the third thump, the two leaves catapulted inside, barely missing the two Devils standing there and falling on top of the pews to the side.
A single figure was standing in the doorway. He was blond, dressed in a black suit with an orange dree-shirt, hands in his pockets and a pair of sunglasses on his face.
"Good evening." He grinned, taking a step inside. "I'm sorry to interrupt, but I couldn't help overhearing. You have something that doesn't belong to you, Fallen. Give it back."
"Come and take it, if you dare." The blond's grin just widened, showing off a pair of sharp canines.
"You! The guy from outside!" Issei yelled, pointing at him somewhat dramatically.
"Me." Darkness started creeping into the abandoned church, slowly overtaking the pews and the bodies. By now the blond, Naruto is Issei remembered correctly, was standing next to him, in front of Raynare and the altar. "This won't take long."
The shadows enveloped the whole church. There was a moment of silence, before the screaming began.

Raynare was feeling almost indestructible. With Freed and Dohnaseek by her side and Twilight Healing in her hands, nobody could stand in her way. Not the newly-reincarnated Devil she'd already killed once, not his master, and especially not the mysterious blonde that just appeared out of nowhere.
Nobody could stop her!
And then the darkness came. She couldn't help but glance around. Freed and Dohnaseek were still there and, while she couldn't see them, she could hear the voices of the Devils in front.
"What the fuck is going on?" The exorcist muttered, turning around.
"I don't know." Raynare said.
A hand appeared from the darkness behind Dohnaseek and, before Raynare could warn him, it grasped his neck, earning a shocked gasp, and pulled him back into the depths, leaving behind his hat to fall to the ground. The air stilled for a brief moment.
"Dohnaseek?"
A loud scream of pain rang out through the dark, startling the Fallen Angel and the exorcist. A wet sound was next, followed by another similar one, and a moment later two large black wings sailed through the air and landed in front of them. The wings were still bleeding, as if they were ripped out from the Fallen Angel's back.
"No… please…" They could hear the weak, chocked sobs of their comrade from somewhere in front of them.
"Bastard!" Freed yelled, taking out his pistol and firing it into the darkness. The muzzle flashes lit up his face as he kept firing bullet after bullet, shooting until his magazine was empty. "Did I get him?"
"You missed." A voice next to his head whispered. Both Freed and Raynare jumped around, seeing only a pair of glowing red eyes and sharp, gleaming teeth. The exorcist raised his empty gun, his hands shaking.
Raynare could feel it, weighing down on her, suffocating her. They were going to die.
"Please, stop." She whimpered lowly. The glowing red eyes turned to her.
"Fuck this. You're on your own, bitch." Freed threw down his gun and ran, leaving the black-haired Fallen Angel to her fate.
"Please don't." Raynare took a step backwards, and then another and another, until her back hit the wall of the church. She slid down to the floor, falling on her knees. "Please spare me."
He was in front of her now, looking down with those eyes, glowing in the encompassing darkness. The blond man knelt next to her, looking her in the eyes, and for a brief moment, Raynare had hope.
And then he grabbed her around the neck, pulling her up to her feet. He slammed her into the wall, making her let out a choked sob. Her violet eyes widened in terror.
The blond just stared at her for a long moment, letting her grasp for breath. His grin was still in place, his elongated canines glistening.
"No… no, no, no, no, no! NO!" She screamed out as loud as she could before he sunk his teeth into her neck, ripping it open, and letting her blood flow.

Rias was sure the darkness was supernatural in nature. When the screaming finally stopped it slowly lifted, taking with it the oppressive feeling that was weighing down on all her Peerage members. She breathed a sigh of relief.
It took a few moments for the shadows to finally disperse. Asia was still lying on the altar, eyes closed and hands clasped in front of her. The exorcist was nowhere to be seen, but the bodies of the two Fallen Angels were still there. Dohnaseek was laying on his face, his back bloodied and his wings missing, while Raynare was slumped against the wall, unnaturally pale with two puncture marks on her neck.
Rias walked over to the altar, passing and checking over each of her family members along the way. She glanced at the poor girl when she got to her. There was a silver ring on each of the girl's ring fingers.

Something I thought might be fun. I tried being as scary as I could during that one part near the end, but I'm not entirely sure it went how I wanted it to.
One fun fact for you: the panel of the door, the part that you swing to open and close, is called a leaf. I did not know that until just now. Neat.
In the now more than ten years I've been doing this, I never once thought to try and monetize it. It just occurred to me. It might have even forced me to post more regularly.
Oh well, too late now.
