Shadow spent around 4 hours teaching Wave the basics of shooting accurately and skating without losing balance. Shadow didn't like to admit that for along time skating was harder than shooting.

"Alright I think I'm getting the hang of this." Wave said as he attempted another shot.

"You're certaintly no star." Shadow responded jokingly after Wave's shot hit the crossbar and missed.

"Oh shut it... We should probably get going you have a game tommorrow." Wave said taking off his gear.

"Yeah well hopefully it's exciting but I don't need a heart attack at my age." Shadow said as he walked towards Wave's car.

"Well you're playing the top goalie in the region so you need some rest." Wave said as he started the engine.

They rode in mostly silence only a few random comments about things here and there.

It wasn't a long drive but they eventually arrived at the house and went inside where they were greeted by Jewel watching TV with Shard and Ruby.

"So how did it go?" Jewel asked them.

"It was entertaining." Shadow responded, to which Wave hit him in the back of the head.

"Ok mildly entertaining." Shadow said noticing the unamused look from Wave.

"I'm not wrong." Shadow responded to his look.

After that interaction Shadow went to sleep fairly quicky anticipating the next game.

The next day Shadow and the rest of the team were hanging out before class.

"You guys ready?" Shadow asked them.

"Not really. I think I ate some bad food last night." Grass said looking like he had some discomfort.

"Hopefully it's just nerves. We need everyone to be ready for the game. I want to be 3-1 after today." Shadow said as they started walking towards their classes.

The morning announcment's came on just after teh bell rang.

"Today the hockey team hosts the Mountaineers let's make sure we show our support to the hockey team on their championship hopes goooooo Ravensssss!"

The day dragged on as the hockey team's nerves were high. The goilie they were facing hadn't allowed a goal that season in 2 starts even though he was a freshman.

Once the final bell rang the hockey team headed towards the ice rink. Shadow passed by Shard who wished him luck.

As they arrived at the ice rink the other team had also just arrived.

Their coach motioned for them to follow him as they walked into the locker room. Once they all got settled their coach turned to them.

"Okay I know that their goalie is intimidating even as a freshman but they also rely heavily on their defense they averag every few shots per game. So go out their and make sure they don't win. Spark is starting at goilie today now go out their and win this game!" Scar said as he looked at each of them.

As Shadow was leaving his coach stopped him which surprised him.

"I have connections to colleges Shadow I think it would be good for you to go to college and stay near Ruby. I can get your film to them just let me know if there's a college you want to specifically go to." Scar said looking at Shadow.

"Thanks coach." Shadow said as he left to lead his team onto the ice.

Shard

Shard was looking at the ice as Shadow led the Ravens onto the ice. As she scanned the bleachers she saw that more people were coming to the game than before probably because of their recent success. As she kept scanning the arena she saw Sylvia talking to her boyfriend who looked like he wanted to murder someone as he looked at the players warming up.

Shard assumed he was a future murderer so shye made a mental note to stay out of his way.

"You guys excited?" Shard asked her family.

"Definitely!" Ruby responded.

The otheres just nodded.

Commentary.

"Hello everyone Dusk here alongside Wilson here to bring you all the action. I'm expecting a great game today with a teasm that focuses at defense and one that is a solid mix. So Wilson who you got winning this game?"

"Well dusk I'm not entirely sure but if you haven't noticed Shadow had gotten a C on his jersey while Flame and Grass have A's looks like Shadow is the captain now."

"Yup and I'm glad he is he works hard no matter what and he's been a bright spot all season."

"Alright dusk the games about to start you better get ready. I'm not looking forward to being ice-side this game after being in that nice warm booth."

"Yeah yeah. The puck is dropped as Midnight wins the draw to Speed Marks who feeds it over to Grass. Grass passes it to Ocean who takes the shot but it just misses the target as it goes into the corner."

"He beat the goalie but not himself on that play as Grass goes after it in the corner as he quickly passes it towards Daylight. He takes the shot but it's saved by Brent James."

"The first two periods are over with a score of 0-0 and wow the Pressure that the Ravens put on the Mountaneers was great but it didn't pay off."

"No but it did wear them down since they were chasing the puck now all that the Ravens need to do is keep up the pressure eventually it's going to go in."

"I wish I was that confident. This is a great goalie so let's hope they manage to get something."

Shadow

"Okay guys we've been putting good pressure on them and taking good shots but we need to do better if we want to win." Scar said looking at his players.

"Grass you're putting shots on net. Flame great job getting infront of the net and blocking the goalies line of sight so statistically we should be up. But statistics only matter to fans who are debating so just keep doing what you guys are doing make sure we win this game." Scar said looking around at each of their faces.

"You all heard him lets go win this things!" Shadow shouted.

Commentary

"Welcome back the fans are ready and so is everyone else as the puck gets dropped for the final period. Wilson I haven't really seen anything wrong with the Ravens."

"Thats because they haven't been doing anything wrong they've been the better team but the opposing goalie is just playing better and you can't really say anything else."

"Alright Shadow has the puck scanning the zone as he makes a quick pass to Grass who takes a shot but the goalie knocks it away. Shadow has it after recovering it and he's looking for a shot. He makes a quick pass to Rain who takes the shot it's saved as well the rebound to Shadow who takes a shot but it hits the post and stays out. I thought that was going in."

"Unluck bounce those are the worst when you the shooter but they're great when your the goalie." Wilson said focusing on the play.

"Grass has control of the puck but it'sd taken from him by one of the defenders I believe that is Leaf Robinson who took it and he has a breakaway he takes a quick shot it goes in it looked like Spark was interfered with but they say it went in. That's a terrible break halfway fthrough the period."

"I saw Leaf's stick interfere with Spark's pad, he pushed it backwards that shouldn't count. That's just a horrible call." Wilson said sounding frustrated.

"Seems like the fans agree as this place is loud in protest. But they aren't going to call it back as they drop the puck and Daylight wins again this time it's to Shadow who looks like he's on a mission. He takes it towards the net but he's hit hard by Leaf and the whistles come in that's going to be elbowing."

"Yeah he's gonna plead his case but he'll be in the box for 2 minutes."

"Daylight wins the draw for the Ravens as Shadow passes it over to Grass quick shot and the rebounds in front of the net Flame comes in to clean it up and he takes a quick shot while the goalie is trying to get in position Flame with the shot and it's Good!"

"That was incredible as his teammates are just all over him cheering."

Commentary

"Well the third has ended and I gotta say I'm nervous for overtime with both teams. If the Mountaineers can hold out till a shootout then they have a good chance to win."

"That's the bad part we shouldn't even be here with that horrible missed call on that goal by the Mountaineers."

"I'm not happy about it either but that's the way it goes sometimes."

Shadow

"Coem on guys we're on the verge of winning don't hold your heads down." Shadow said trying to inspire them.

"Well all we can do is try our best right come on guys we still have a chance." Grass said trying to help boost morale as well."

"Let's go guys we got this. This is the best this team has played in 20 years. Before any of us were born." Shadow said looking at them.

"Guys bad news our coach got ejected for complaining about the non-interference call so we might be on our own." Flame said as he walked into the locker room.

"Well guys lets harness our inner coaches and try to win because well we don't have a choice if we want to play next year. Let's go prove this is our year let's go." Shadow shouted as he led them onto the ice.

Shard

"Did their coach seriously just get ejected?" Shard asked.

"Well they're screwed." Wave said

"Don't say that they still have a chance." Shard said trying to reassure herself.

Commentary

"Well there goeds Scar as he just got ejected from the rink and well let's hope they can rally and win this game." Dusk said looking like he had aheadache.

"I'm optimistic." Wilson said looking out at the ice.

"Well the puck is dropped and the Mountaineers will start out with the puck as they bring it up the ice and they take ashot but Spark stops it and Grass grabs the puck as he heads up the ice alongside Shadow who has split off for a one-timer chance as they have a 2 on 1 situation and Grass with a quick pass over to Shadow with a one-time and... HE SCORES WHAT A SHOT AND THAT WAS A GREAT SHOT AS THE GOALIE HAD NO CHANCE YOU WOULD HAVE TO HAVE SUPERPOWERS TO STOP THAT PUCK!"

"Yeah that's what I love to see and the energy rink side is incredible as Shadow has his first goal on the season and he worked hard for it."

Shadow

"YES MAN THAT WAS TERRIFYING!" Shadow shouted as his teamates cam skating ovetr to celebrate.

"Holy shit that was great!" Grass shouted as he hit Shadow lightly.

"Why did you guys have to go into overtime!" Spark shouted when he reached them.

"Had to give you a heart attack simple as that." Shadow said giving Spark a celebratory headbut.

"Well look who was watching the game." Flame said pointing to teh stands where a very frrustrated Sylvia was standing near the glass with her boyfriend.

Shadow looked around the stands and saw Shard and her family celebrating the win as were tyhe rest of the families and fans at the game. They also noticed Scar walking out to the bbench with a smile.

"I watched the rest of the game I'm proud of you guys." Scar said as he gestured for them to go to the locker room

After a short speech Shadow left the rink and met up with Shard and her family. Ruby had a large smile on her face while Shard just walked up to him giving him a kiss on the cheek. Shadow also noticed Brent James the goalie walking towards him with his family behind him. Shadow also noticed Sylvia and her boyfriend walking towards them.
