Chapter 23: Worry

Queen Blaze worried greatly about her husband, Silver the Hedgehog, and his recent erratic behavior. He used to be so kind, and now she was terrified for her life. He would be normal one minute, then freaking out the next. Falling over and screaming and yelling with crazed eyes. Sometimes he got violent to her and others, and the level of violence was progressing daily to the point he almost choked a butler to death at breakfast yesterday.

Something about him was off, and off bad, and few would help her. She consulted old friends and foes alike and some had few answers. Nack the Weasel tallied it up to something akin to Dimensional sickness. If he had been traveling to a lot of dimensions it would grate on his sanity and that he needed rest in his own dimension. Blaze did that to no avail.

Shadow chocked it up to family illnesses or maybe previous history of mental illnesses in his family. Other than his father being a raging asshole and a time traveler too, she did not know of any familial health or mental problems. Silver spoke little of his mother, who he claims was loving and doting, but always worried with him.

Rouge the Bat wondered if it was the Sol Emeralds affecting him. It was a theory proven false.

Knuckles claimed that he just may have finally lost it from the Iblis Trigger thing. Something Silver still harped on excessively. Attacking many he perceived to be the Iblis Trigger and galvanizing enemies by the day. silver was terrible at hand-to-hand combat, and when he exhausted his psychic abilities, it was Blaze having to rush to save his ass.

But she wondered if Jet's friends were right. Wave the Swallow and Storm the Albatross would go on to tell her that in an old Babylonian Legend, a man looked all over the world and galaxies trying to find the Essence of the Stars without realizing that the Essence was him all along. When he learned the truth he became amongst the stars as a constellation that protects them. They seem to be alluding that perhaps Silver was the Iblis Trigger himself. But that would be impossible. The Iblis Trigger was essentially the apocalypse. The Iblis Trigger was also trapped in someone, but who would put a literal apocalypse in somebody?

Few others knew what was going on and no doctor could diagnose him. He did do a lot of extensive time traveling. Going into her dimension and time traveling back in time when she was a baby, and causing a civil war with many casualties. He went to Nack's dimension in an effort to kill him as a baby, slipped, and found himself with Nack as a little eleven year old. Tried to kill him and his sister, and ultimately failed, ruining the timeline Blaze remembers and causing her childhood exile to become more enforced.

Nack barely knew of Silver's existence. In the timeline she remembered, Nack only knew of Silver by name and probably wouldn't recognize him in the street if they passed by each other. Nic was neutral towards Silver. Now they both attack him on sight remembering how he tried to kill them as children.

He went back in time and ruined Bark's childhood. The polar bear used to be close with family, then he basically had an "accident" and wound up never seeing them again. Then he tried a last ditch effort to make sure Bean and Bark never meet, so he coughs on Bark, gives the bear the flu, and he winds up meeting Bean earlier, who nurses him back to health.

He tried to stop Bean from ever existing, and came to his mother when she was a teenager, warning her of the "beast" and "omen of death" she would carry. Of course she got terrified and ran to her boyfriend, who would become Bean's father, and they both concede and agree to work things out. Years later, they still have Bean, but they are fearful of his powers, and instead of getting him help or trying to help him understand and learn his powers, they become fearful. They sought to kill him, which failed, so abandoned him nearby, where he was raised by villagers in Jet's home village. His parents felt remorse, came back for him, and nearly die realizing he had been found by a hostile tribe on their planet. They tried to raise him, when that failed they sent him back to the village, broke through a language barrier and eventually sent him to another planet because of his powers, which became stronger than they ever were before.

He liked Wave solely because Bean married her and not Blaze, and went back in time to try to give her a boon, and caused her to become immortal thanks to sharing technology information with her father, who still looks for Silver to this day to get more information. Wave was never immortal to begin with and suffered from depression from watching all her friends and family grow old around her until she was murdered by Tails.

He went to save Jet's village that burned down when he was a boy that resulted in his father dying and his separation from his sister. While the gesture was nice, all he did was nearly get skewered by Jet's village as Babylonians are a race of alien birds who conquer other planets for science. Silver was too embarrassed to speak to Jet (even though he would have been too young to remember) and it ruined their friendship in the alternate timeline where they were best friends.

He tried to kill Sonic, and all he did was make Queen Aleena and King Honore have a vendetta against time travelers and Silver.

He tried to get Flying Frog's parents to never meet, and he was too late on that. So all he did was tell his non-English speaking mother that Flying Frog was a murderous bastard and should get an abortion. Her parents proceed to try to shoot him.

He tried to make Predator Hawk never exist either and wound up coming back looking pale and murmuring something about Demons.

He goes to try to stop Eggman's mom from changing her mind about giving him up for adoption. It works. Eggman is placed in adoptive care and promptly abused by his foster parents who would allow and train their animals to attack him growing up and abuse him. Proceeded to then abandon him and have multiple Mobians bully him throughout childhood. Becomes even eviler than before.

And many more cases like that.

Blaze tried to contact Sonic but he was too busy fighting Manic for marrying Amy. Amy stalked Sonic relentlessly and made any woman in his vicinity uncomfortable. Even his sister couldn't stand her. Blaze remembered Amy's snide remarks and looking her up and down like she was nothing, claiming she was stealing "her" Sonic. Silver should have went back in time and stopped her birth instead. Then again, Silver has hated her ever since her snide comment to her (Blaze) on Sally and Sonic's wedding day, and that was the most Blaze had ever cringed.

Regardless, she didn't know how to soothe her husband as he became even more progressively a danger to her and her children. She loved him, she truly did, but she was at a loss.

She hoped one day something would happen and he would get better, but those chances were slim.
