Chapter 12
Lying in bed, Kunzite smiled as he kissed his bride. Both were completely exhausted and ready for sleep. Minako kissed him back and gave a small yawn, "I'm so content."
"Oh?" questioned the general, smirking as he wrapped his arms around her small body. "Why do you say that?"
"Everything just seems so perfect," muttered Minako as she nestled her head under his chin, "I am livin with the love of my life! I got to see all of our sons, Hikari finally had the guts to ask Mako out, and our little princess may soon get to experience love."
Kunzite raised an eyebrow, not that his wife could see it. She could sense the question just from the atmosphere of the room.
She chucked and leaned back to look Kunzite in the eye, "Jade fell in love with our daughter YEARS ago! Remember how Mina would chase Jade around asking him for hugs and kisses and he would blush telling her you would get mad?"
"Yes?"
"And all those times for special holidays, like Valentines Day, her birthday, and the winter holidays where he would always seem to have a special gift for her?"
"Yes…?"
"And the times he would always seem to be there when a boy would make her mad and he would always discourage her from getting revenge because he didn't want her to ruin her good reputation? And somehow those who treated her poorly would come back a few days later groveling and apologizing for their wrongs?"
Kunzite became silent as the dots connected that he never noticed.
"Does Mina know?"
His wife laughed loudly, "Of course she doesn't! Love-Senshi recognize love in others but are blind to it until it smacks us in the face! Mina is completely blind to the love Jade has for her, but she can recognize it in others to other people. I was the same way before you pursued me."
Kunzite held his wife, his mind thinking silently. "Today, I gave Jade permission to date Mina."
Minako held her husband a little tighter and smiled as she placed her cheek on his chest, "Knowing that boy, it might be a little while before he asks Mina to date him. I think he wants to ask her at the right time when he knows she will accept him as her boyfriend."
Kunzite remained silent. Knowing he had just a little more time with his daughter did bring him comfort. Jade was just like his father, very observant, patient, and considerate of when would be the best and right time to act. His daughter might bring the news to him tomorrow… or five years might pass. Either way, Kunzite prepared his heart for the day his daughter would get a taste of love.
