Chapter 15
Minako and Mina sat in front of the television watching a sappy movie while eating chocolate icecream. It was another one of those days... Hikari and Jade were sitting with them watching the movie quietly, though Hikari almost looked bored as he shared popcorn with his friend, taking after his dad in preferring a good martial arts film. Jade, on the other hand, kept stealing glances to the young teenage girl who occasionally had watery eyes and wiped away any stray tears that fell down her blushing cheeks.
"He's so brave!" sighed Mina putting her spoon down, "Mom, can you help me find a guy who is handsome and loving like in this movie?"
Minako finished eating her bite of ice cream, knowing very well there was a young man in the room who wanted to court her daughter but was patiently waiting for the right time. "Mina, you know these romance movies are fake."
"But you and dad got a happily ever after! You both are always so lovey dovey to each other," she pouted. "No one would treat me well like dad treats you, mom."
"I wouldn't necessarily say that," spoke Minako with a smile trying to comfort her daughter, "You are still very, VERY young and have your whole life ahead of you! I'm sure you will meet your soulmate one day."
"Really?" questioned her daughter, getting another spoonful of ice cream and not ashamed to eat her feelings.
"Your dad and I were several decades old before we got together," smiled Minako as she reflected on those past days, "I had to have been close to 70 or 80 years of age when we finally started secretly meeting. And even with those meetings, we were separated for almost a millennia before getting to live as a big happy family."
"Who wants to wait?" complained Mina feeling deflated as she looked back to the screen and continued eating her ice cream. "Maybe if I get pregnant, these stupid cramps won't bother me as much," grumbled Mina.
There was a choking sound from the side of the room. Both current and former Sailor Venus glanced over seeing Jade choking on a piece of popcorn, his face a bright red from what he just heard.
"Are you okay?" asked Mina looking over at her friend strangely. To her, he was one of her best friends that wasn't a girl.
When the coughing calmed down and his face slowly started returning to normal color, he cleared his throat and nodded his head, "I am now, thank you…" He still had a slightly pink hue on his cheeks.
The mother of the love senshi gave a knowing smile seeing the two briefly interact before returning to their movie. She knew that one day her daughter would recognize the love her best friend had for her. Rei had already told her of the premonition that their children may someday be together connecting their two families together through marriage and future children.
'Patience,' thought Minako as she went back to watching the movie, her thoughts elsewhere. 'Be still my heart. You'll one day get to help your daughter plan her wedding and watch her family grow.'
It was all a matter of time.
