Chapter 10: Brawl of the Grimm

Amity Tower, Indoor Plaza, 5 hours into Apocalypse

Amity Tower. The one place constructed to save the world once, now the place where the world was beginning to end. It was a long, and fairly tough climb, but the eight had made it to the plaza. Exhausted, the four former huntresses leaned against the walls.

"Man, how do you kids even carry this stuff this long and not feel tired?" Ruby asked, taking a heavy breath.

"Lots of on the job training, trust me," Walter replied, squatting to his knees, "Although, that was a hellava climb."

"Yeah, I'm surprised none of us vomited." Brig said.

The six heard a gagging noise and the sound of a gross, thick liquid being projected out from the staircase.

"I Spoke too soon."

The person behind the sound emerged from the door, Rose, looking dizzy and pale.

"Sorry, guess that extra spicy bowl from the noodle shop came back for vengeance." She said, wiping her mouth and chin.

"I told you it wouldn't be a good idea." Brig quipped.

"Yeah, I realize that now."

"Can we get back to the reason why we're all here?" Yale asked, walking over to the faunas and atlesian teens.

"Right, now, If I was a cross dimensional rift, summoned by a class 9 spirit, capable of releasing hell on earth, where would I be?"

"Um, how about the top of the tower?" Yale asked, pointing to the top of all the activity.

The eight all looked at the top of the tower. Ghosts were flying everywhere, flowing down over into the city. They knew they couldn't let this continue any longer, they had to stop Cinder. They began walking towards the elevator when Yale noticed some shady figure close by.

"Um, I'm not an expert in art or history, but don't those figures look familiar?" he asked, squinting his eyes.

The other three ghostbusters did the same. When the figures came closer, all four of the ghostbusters' and huntresses' eyes widened. It was the Grimm.

"That's not possible," Wiess exclaimed, "They're supposed to be extinct!"

"They're negatively charged proto ectophysical beasts," Rose said, adjusting her glasses, "The heavy negative ion field must be so powerful, it brought them back from extinction."

"Well, It's a good thing that the old pros are back to place them back where they should be." Ruby said, doing a rolling stretch with her right arm.

"You're damn right." Blake quipped, popping her neck.

"Finally, some action," Yang said, getting up from the wall, "Let's send these things back to hell!"

Wiess walked into the formation, cracking her knuckles. The former team RWBY members grabbed and unholstered their wands.

"Heat 'em up girls!" Ruby shouted.

The sounds of the packs turning on flooded the arena. The former huntresses took aim and unleashed four proton streams on the Grimm. While most of them did disintegrate with just the burst, some moved out of the way, charging at the women. All of them dodged the incoming charge. The Grimm kept up their assault on the huntresses, keeping them from attacking.

"Damnit, I can't get a shot off!" Ruby exclaimed, trying to readjust.

"Almost makes you wish you brought your scythe!" Wiess quipped.

"Speak for yourself, none of us have our old weapons!"

"I do!" Yang shouted, rearing her arm back, arming her shotgun wrist from her cybernetic arm.

"You know, I always forget you have that." Ruby said, dodging attacks from a beowolf.

"To be fair, I've never had a reason to use this function again for years!"

The blonde haired huntress ran towards a group of Ursa, ready to go berserk. She fired her weapon point blank, it caught and killed five Ursa, one blew up and killed the rest of the group. The teens looked in astonishment, their mothers were new to ghostbusting, but were seasoned veterans when it came to eliminating grimm.

"Are we not gonna join them?" Walter asked the redhead.

Redhood looked over towards the mothers. Although they were struggling to eliminate them all, they had fair control over the situation. That was until a huge wave of Geists and Griffons hurtled towards the four huntresses.

"Oh shit." Ruby said, looking at the wave of grimm.

The teens looked at the onslaught that came above their mothers. They each looked at each other and nodded. They knew that the huntresses would need help from the professional paranormal eliminators.

"Alright guys, our moms may be pros in destroying grimm, but let's show them the pros in busting ghosts!" Redhood quipped.

The teens swiped the panels on their waists and took out their sidearms. Finally, the other three Ghostbusters got to see what Bridget made for herself. When she pulled out her sidearm, they were surprised. Brigs' sidearm was a techno double barrel shotgun, wired to her proton pack. Rose shook her head and looked back at the swarm of grimm surrounding the huntresses.

"OK, Light 'em up!"

The Ghostbusters ran over to the cluster surrounding their mothers, blasting away at the Grimm. They each run over and beside their moms.

"Old pros, meet the paranormal eliminators in action!" Rose quipped, lifting her proton pistols to her chest.

The mothers looked at their children in surprise. They weren't huntsmen or huntresses, had no aura, no semblances, yet they were willing to do whatever it takes to take down the Grimm.

"God damn, I'd never thought I'd be more proud of you Walter!" Wiess shouted.

"Yeah yeah, I know, but let's focus on the big dark monsters first before we hug." Walter quipped to his mother.

"LIGHT 'EM UP!" Rose shouted, aiming her sidearms.

The eight fired their weapons at the grimm swarm, blasting and destroying Geist and Griffon left and right.

"TAKE SOME OF THIS, BITCH!!" Yale shouted, maneuvering his proton gatling to the right.

"Damn, didn't think you had a grudge against creatures that went extinct!" Yang shouted, smirking at her quip.

"Considering the fact that they should be, yeah," Rose replied, "We don't like the fact they're back!"

The eight continued their fire, but the grimm were still coming.

"There's too many of them!" Blake shouted.

Rose realized that they were getting nowhere fast. She pondered how they would be able to stop the swarm before they were overcome. Suddenly, a bulb popped into her head.

"We're all members of a team right?" she questioned.

"What does this have to do with what's going on?!" Walter yelled.

"Think about it, two teams of four, both team leaders have silver eyes, and we all wanna protect the innocent," Rose replied with a yell, " SO WHY DON'T WE ACT LIKE ONE AND USE WHAT WE GOT, AS A TEAM!?"

The other seven looked at each other, she was right, they'd been just divide and conquer, which normally would work, but considering the grimm were coming faster than what the ghostbusters could destroy them, they needed a new approach.

"So, What do we do?" Yale questioned his cousin.

"How about, 'Ice Flower?" Rose quipped.

Ruby and Wiesss' eyes widened, their signature duo call, but this time, with a ghostbusting twist. Both adult women smirked and nodded at the red haired girl.

The two reared up and prepared themselves.

"OH, I get it, old team set duos performing their old moves!" Walter said.

"Who said it was just the old pros doing this?" Rose quipped, dragging Walter by his sleeve.

"WHOA!!"

The redhead dragged the white haired atlesian boy near their mothers. She readjusted her grip on Walter's arm.

"Oh shit."

Ruby grabbed her daughter by the waist, using her speed semblance to lift her and Walter high up.

"OH SHIT!"

Wiess then used her semblance to create a platform underneath Ruby and the two Ghostbusters. Ruby released the kids, landing on the platform with them.

"Now what?"

"We rain hellfire!" Rose said, pulling out a small bag of proton grenades.

"Huh, I wondered what that bag was for." Ruby said, giving a small chuckle at the end.

Rose handed her mother some grenades, explaining how to use them.

"And what about me?" Walter asked, pointing to himself.

"Let's just say you're the grand finale of this move."

Walter gulped when he heard that. He knew what Rose meant by "grand finale", and he knew it wasn't gonna go well for him.

"Oh shit…"

"Ready mom?"

"Hell yeah!"

Ruby and Redhood activate and throw the grenades. They explode and destroy a great chunk of grimm.

"BUMBLEBEE!!" The silver eyed Roses yelled.

"And that would be our que, to kick ass…" Yang said, raising up her wand.

Blake followed suit, adjusting her position. Brig and Yale ran out and fired their side weapons, hitting and destroying some of the hoard.

"Let's take 'em down!" Blake exclaimed, aiming her neutrona wand.

The two fired their proton streams at the rest of the hoard. While the streams did destroy some of the grimm, the remaining grimm still defended the tower elevator.

"Ok, now it's time…" Rose said, backing up a little.

"What do you mean?!" Walter exclaimed.

"THE GRAND FINALE!!!"

Rose grabbed Walter by his arm again. She ran and dragged him along, eventually jumping off the platform entirely.

"OOOOOOOH SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT!!!!!"

Redhood threw Walter towards the remaining hoard of grimm. When he landed face first, the gloves ejected a huge blast, destroying the remaining grimm.

"Whoa." was all Yang got out before Walter got back up, sore and disoriented.

"Never. do that. again…" He said, walking over to the Redhead, who landed close by.

"I'll give a better warning next time." she quipped back.

"C'mon, we need to stop that witch before she ends the world." Brig said, running over to the two.

The others ran over to the elevators. It was almost over, one last fight to save the world. The question is though, Cinder had been one step ahead every time, what would she have up her sleeve by the time the eight would have gotten up there? At this point, it was a gamble. The ghostbusters and huntresses entered the elevator, preparing themselves for what was about to come.
