Jessica's Point of View

Over the next few nights, the girls and I went to The Catfish Club and had a wonderful time. No matter how I tried, I never could get a chance to talk to Namiko. She had a tendency to arrive late and leave early. Regardless, we all had a lot of fun. Unfortunately, like all good things, it came to an end. One night, the king's swordfish barged in. The octopus, Ink Spot, created a cloud of ink. That was when we were supposed to hide. Most of the sea creatures swam away, but myself, the princesses, the main band, and Namiko were quickly surrounded by the swordfish. King Triton entered the room and turned to Sebastian. "This is how you watch over my daughter?" King Triton demanded.

"Sire, I-" Sebastian started.

"I trusted you," King Triton interrupted.

"Sire," Sebastian sighed.

"Guards! Lock him away," King Triton ordered.

"What? No!" Ariel exclaimed.

"Lock them all away!" King Triton added.

"But, your majesty, please!" Sebastian tried. His plea attempts were futile as he was taken to prison with the rest of the band.

"Marina, you will take over Sebastian's duties immediately," King Triton commanded.

"As you wish," Marina replied with a bow. The princesses followed Marina out of the cave, and I followed suit. I was a bit worried that King Triton would throw me in jail, but he hardly seemed to notice me as I swam past him.

"Attina, take your sisters and Jessica home," King Triton stated. I let out a sigh of relief.

"Yes, sir," Attina answered.

"Father, you can't do this!" Ariel pleaded.

"It's already done!" King Triton shouted. Attina and Aquata fell back and put their hands on Ariel's back, urging her forward. When we left the cave, there was a loud boom. I glanced behind me to find that the cave had collapsed. I knew that there would be plenty of time to be upset back at the palace. I had known sadness well enough to know that I couldn't break down until I was safe, and at that moment, I felt anything but safe. We swam back in silence other than Ariel's occasional sobs.
