Not a Gentleman

Update
I was really excited about writing this weekend because for once, I did not have to work! However, my son came home from school with a nasty cold on Friday, and unfortunately he passed it on to me. After working almost every weekend for the past couple of months, I think my body decided enough is enough. This is the worst cold I have had in a long time. Thankfully, it is not the flu, however. Already had that!
I have spent most of the weekend asleep, and I've come to the sad realization that I need a break. The next month at my work will continue to be busy answer stressful- I work at a non-profit, and it is proposal season. Those proposals are how we stay funded, so it is critical that we do a good job at them. Hence the high levels of stress from being understaffed, and working weekends for free. (This is apart from my supervisor's supervisor, who adds a whole other level of stress. But I am usually buffered from her.) I do have good news: a colleague of mine, whom I greatly admire is coming back, but not until mid-March. So I only have to hang on for about another month.
I am a little frustrated, because the story is fully mapped out. I just need to put pen to paper (well, fingers to keyboard). But I need long, uninterrupted blocks of time in which to write, too. I just can't do it in 1 hour fragments.
I also noticed that I seem to have a troll. This is hugely disappointing, as writing for me is supposed to be a respite from the BS so often seen in the workplace. I will say no more, as feeding the trolls only encourages them, but I am feeling discouraged.
I will be back in a couple of weeks. I'll be doing research until then.
Talk to you soon,
Tintin
