I do not own Doctor Who
"Here it is." Gwen spun around in her swivel chair so the team could see the news article displayed on the computer screen. "It's like a high-tech replica of the Titanic."
Owen narrowed his eyes. "It's a literal spaceship. Ship. Uh, double ship."
"How many dead?" Tosh almost whispered, her eyebrows furrowed in disturbance.
Gwen scrolled down for more information. Her heart dropped. "The entire city. Central London, Buckingham Palace...It's gone."
"Something tells me this calls for Torchwood," a voice said from behind.
Gwen leapt to her feet. She was eager to shake the shadows of horror from the causalities. "Rose Tyler." She forced a grim smile. "You're all here."
The three Tylers, Mickey, Jenny and Bad Wolf walked up to the team and were greeted halfheartedly. Rose looked at Gwen. "We saw the news. The Titanic crash, the city gone."
The familiar cold feeling swept over Gwen as she turned back to the computer. It was her life, taking control over any extraterrestrial threats to the planet, and there had been many strange things she had taken care of, and this wasn't anything too strange compared to anything else she'd done. But an entire city perished? That had never happened.
Many articles had already popped up. It didn't take long before they got an exact location off a short video footage of the crash. Many footage pieces of the crash had been cut off from the impact before they got a good shot, but a few from further distances managed to catch an exact location before ash and fire destroyed the circuits.
"There." Mickey pointed at the Buckingham Palace with the nose of the Titanic hovering right over, an inch from destruction. He had taken Gwen's seat, hacking into surveillance cameras that could still be hacked into. "That's where the impact started."
Familiar energy rushed through Gwen's veins. It was go time.
In less than half an hour, orders were distributed and a few of the team were sent to go to the site.
Once they got there, there was so much to see yet so little.
