Chapter 20- Vigilantism
Vigilante, or Adrian Chase, from Earth-50, had suddenly gone through a breach and appeared in a completely different world in what was Star City.
Not knowing about the weakened barriers between all realities, he had thought he was a special person who had gotten a license to travel through realities unchecked on realizing he was in a different world.
That had made him do a happy dance. "Hell yeah! I am the Chosen One! I can travel between different worlds! I rock! Suck it everyone! Vigilante is here to impart his justice to every single person on every single world! Yeah baby!"
But then he had stopped dancing on seeing the news and seeing there was another person like him here, who was also called Vigilante.
This one had a decent suit, even if it was nothing compared to his own, and he seemed to be doing the job, but Vigilante was very annoyed still, because he was the only Vigilante!
Plus this guy was more angry than fun, and it seemed he viewed his killing of criminals as a job to do rather than something for fun.
That was unacceptable!
So Vigilante now wasn't in the mood, and decided this other grumpy Vigilante with no sense of humor needed to have his ass beaten and killed, because how dare he ruin the Vigilante name by being such a boring slob with no interesting personality?
He had tried to track this one, shooting up criminals and any dealers from whom the guy could buy guns, and now finally, he seemed to be in the right area as he heard gunshots coming from inside the warehouse.
Vigilante kicked the door open and saw the other Vigilante shooting up the thugs and drug dealers there as his armor took any shots aimed at him, and then Vigilante himself decided to join in.
He started shooting the thugs himself as he said. "Yeah, your punishment is here! Take it like champs! Oh wait! You're losers!" Vigilante kept shooting them up brutally before whacking one hard with his gun to the ground, then shooting that one too, and then he threw a grenade, killing some more.
The lamer Vigilante was simply shooting more, as the cool Vigilante did a spin while shooting two guns now, and in that swift movement, he managed to take out every single remaining thug in the warehouse, having killed them all.
"Whoopeee!" Vigilante cheered happily with a jump and raised fist. "I did it! This world has now gotten a taste of me and it knows it wants more! Oh yeah baby!"
"Who the hell are you?" The lame Vigilante asked the cool Vigilante, standing and tilting his head out of curiosity, wondering who this clown was.
"I am you, but much better", Vigilante shrugged while pointing at his lame counterpart. "You're just a loser."
The lame Vigilante seemed pretty annoyed. "Being dressed up like that doesn't mean you can just go out to-"
"Oh my suit is way, way, way better than yours, so don't lecture me about dress-up boring slob", Vigilante immediately told the lame Vigilante. "Like really, I know Adrian means 'dark one' but you can be dark and still have a personality."
"Adrian?" Lame Vigilante asked, now even more confused than before.
"Yeah, that's your name, right? Adrian Chase, just like me", Vigilante mused. "Which sucks since you're lame and I'm not."
"I am not Adrian Chase, that was the Throwing Star Killer or Prometheus", Vigilante, whose real name was Vincent Sobel, said with a shake of his head. "I have no idea who you are or-"
"Adrian Chase is not Vigilante here? Well, at least I don't share my real name with a lame dude, but gosh! This world needs to meet the real Adrian Chase!" Vigilante raised his gun at the lame Vigilante. "Meaning you must be out of my way for that to happen, ya know?"
"Oh boy", Lame Vigilante groaned and raised his own gun as both fired at each other before rolling away to take cover, then raised themselves up to fire again, and then took cover from the shots once more.
"Okay, this is getting just boring as hell", Vigilante muttered as he leapt out of his hiding place and rushed the lame Vigilante, who tried to fire but Vigilante's armor managed to take all the bullets.
Except one that grazed his shoulder.
"Aw darnit", Vigilante kept running, now horrifying Vince. He had a healing factor, yes, but he couldn't shrug off pain like that, it still hurt him like hell.
Vigilante tried to fire at Vince who barely avoided by rolling away but as he stood up, the gun was kicked out of his hands by Vigilante who fired at his face, breaking his helmet and getting him as he fell down, seemingly dead now.
Vigilante kneeled near the lame doppelganger, looking at his bloodied face. "Messed up, but not like mine at all. Phew, thank fuck the nightmare ain't as bad as it could be, ya know? When everything would be alike and he would be lame while I'd be-"
In that moment, Vince's eyes opened as the bullet wound healed, with the bullet being pushed out. Vigilante was shocked as he backed off while Vince stood up.
"Hey, that's not fair! You've a healing factor!"
"Not fair indeed", Vince smirked, charging Vigilante, making him drop his gun as Vince was upon him, trying to punch his face.
But Vigilante was way more skilled, and grabbed him by the throat before he could even land his first punch. He head-butted the lame idiot, dazing him as he staggered back while Vigilante stood up.
"Okay, you know what? I can't kill you! You win!" Vigilante ran off, Vince recovering and trying to give chase.
Then someone tapped Vince's shoulder from behind. "Over here."
As Vince turned, Vigilante swung a machete he had found in the warehouse. Vince's head flew off, his body toppling while the blood splattered on Vigilante's suit.
"No better way to make your day than kill a lame doppelganger", Vigilante cheered as he picked up his gun and ran out, doing another happy dance, only to get through another breach in reality and go back to his own world.
"Urggghhhh, this sucks, but no place like home I guess!" Vigilante finally decided.
Haven't seen Peacemaker yet but what I heard about the Vigilante/Adrian Chase in that show made me love him more than the Arrow version already.
Arrow version of Vigilante was interesting in Season 5 but the reveal in Season 6 that he was Vince Sobel was the lamest reveal in the history of lame reveals.
Like, they reveal the guy behind the mask to be some guy we saw ONCE in a flashback, and even change his actor from that scene.
Seriously, who out of you all remembered who Vince Sobel was? I did remember Dinah had a boyfriend who got killed, but that's really it.
I expected someone familiar yet shocking behind that mask, but ya know, typical bullshit by Guggie and the CW in general.
Once that reveal happened, I knew CW is run by braindead people and there's no hope for any show of theirs. Now just Arrowverse, ANY SHOW!
Remember, I left Arrow Vigilante's fate in this series open-ended last time he was mentioned, which was the end of 'Heroes in Middle-earth', so there was no problem doing this now and actually finishing him up for good.
Hope all enjoyed and see you all next time with another chapter.
