Chapter 24: Fury of the Sabers
In Memory of Peter Mayhew, the true Chewbacca (May 19th, 1944 - April 30th, 2019)
And…
In Memory of Pua Magasiva (August 10th, 1980 - May 11th, 2019)
No fight is morally justified, but an act of self-defense is.
Darkness spreading! Following the Battle of Earth against the Shadow Collective, Darth Maul and his forces are forced to retreat after a failed attempt to conquer Earth with the massive warship, the RUINATION! As Ahsoka and the Young Justice gather their forces to prepare to follow a new lead on the whereabouts of the DarkSiders, Maul prepares an unpredictable plan, one which involves the full rage of saber combat. Even now, forces under his name are working to gather recruits. As the sinister plan unfolds, Newcomer NOMAD tends to his captured Krayt Dragon, recently found in a hidden base in New Zealand.
In New Zealand, Ahsoka and the Young Justice, with Anakin, Mace Windu and Obi-Wan, were watching as several Clone Troopers took away the remaining Shadow Collective Forces left behind during their last battle. As soon as all the remaining troops were taken away, they turned to Nomad, who had his hand placed against the head of the Krayt Dragon, now freed of the chains it was bound by.
"It's okay, it's okay," Nomad said as he rubbed the head of the Krayt Dragon, who growled calmly. "You're safe now. I'm only sorry it took me so long to find you."
"You really look happy there," Ahsoka mused as she and the rest of the Young Justice walked over. "It's the first time we've ever seen your face."
"Mind telling us what your story is?" Miss Martian asked nicely.
Nomad nodded as he turned to the Young Justice. He motioned for his dragon to remain where he was before walking over to them. "My Father was a U.S. Ranger and my mother a pilot in the Air Force. At a young age, my parents taught me to live for a worthy cause. Sadly, my parents were killed in an accident and I was sent to live with my fathers commanding officer. My adoptive father told me stories about the adventures my parents went on and their heroics. Sadly, my adoptive father was killed in the same way my parents were and I was once again left with out a family," he began, drawing in the attention of the Young Justice. "As the years went by, I learned the basics of firearms maintenance and usage. I began to travel to country and earned a reputation as a powerful fighter in unarmed and armed combat. I also have a soft spot for dogs and wolves." He added, scratching Wolf behind the ears.
"That's nice and all," Ahsoka said. "But… how did you get those weapons?"
"Not to mention my old Starfighter," Anakin added on. "And the Krayt Dragon as well."
"Well, for one, Nomad isn't my real name. It's a codename, like all of you have," Nomad explained. "It's Ryan, Ryan Lennox," he said. "I came into possession of the weapons and Starfighter when I was taken by the Black Sun back when Sylas was still evil," he went on. "I managed to escape while we were over Tatooine, and I took the two lightsabers and other weapons as a way to fight for myself. While I was training myself on Tatooine, I stumbled across a cave that I fell into. Let's just say that not everything on that Planet was as dead as anyone thought. There was a Krayt Dragon there, still breathing."
"What happened?" Barriss asked.
"It was hiding, apparently," Ryan explained. "But even in her state, she was kind enough to lend me her scales to reinforce my armor and my weaponry. I've looked after it ever since until the Shadow Collective arrived. She brought me enough time to get out of there, and when I came back a couple months later, she was gone. I went to take down any Shadow Collective base for any information I could find on her. That's when I came across Teth, and if you saw me enter Coruscant and then follow you back home to Earth, then the rest is history."
"Quite a story there," Miss Martian said. "I'm sorry you were taken. It must have been hard."
"I've managed to live through it," Ryan said. "Now I'm more ready and willing to take down Darth Maul and any other forces he can throw at us."
"You want to join the Young Justice?" Aqualad asked.
"I'll be helping out," Ryan said. "I'm not quite ready to officially join a team yet."
"No one's forcing you," Ahsoka said. "Take your time. We'll respect any decision you come to."
Just then, one of the Clone Admirals walked over. "Generals, we have a problem," he reported. "We have to return to Mount Justice immediately."
"What's the rush?" Zatanna asked.
"Master Agen Kolar has contacted us," the Clone Admiral explained. "Plus… there's someone waiting back at Mount Justice for General Tano."
Ahsoka looked up. "Looks like this will have to wait for later, Ryan," she said. "We need to move."
On Crait, Darth Maul watched as his forces continued to harvest crystals from the caves underneath the surface. Lady Shiva walked up to him with Komari Vosa as the two looked around.
"This seems like quite the Planet you've chosen for our operation," Lady Shiva mused. "Hard to believe that no side has ever claimed Crait before."
"This Planet was one of many in the Unknown Regions during my travels as a learner of Sidious," Darth Maul said, looking around. "Aside from Ilum, this World holds many crystals, all of which can be bled with the right powers," he explained, using the Force to grab a crystal from the wall. As he did, it slowly started to turn red before glowing the color as soon as it reached his hand. "And harnessed into the right weapons."
"A most interesting theory your former master had," Komari Vosa mused. "How did this Planet manage to stay off the radar for so long?"
"A lot of Crait was overlooked by the Republic and the Confederacy," Darth Maul said, placing the newly-bled crystal into an empty lightsaber hilt. "They saw this as nothing but a wasteland. I saw it as an opportunity, ready only for the right moment. We only needed the chance for the Allied Forces to be distracted for us to seize this Planet for ourselves."
"And this is where Operation Hell Saber comes in?" Lady Shiva asked.
"The Sith Empire of the past was able to keep a strong hold over the galaxy due to their overwhelming number of warriors," Darth Maul explained. "What we need is to recreate that empire, to create a force that can overwhelm our enemies as well."
"I take it we have a plan, then?" General Zod asked as he, Tiber and Gar Saxon walked over.
"I have dispatched an elite squadron of wielders of the Dark Side to deal with the Jedi and their allies. Vaapad Rage will get the job done," Darth Maul said before looking around. He looked to Siren as she was investigating some crystals. "Siren, I call upon you!" he called out.
Siren turned and walked to Darth Maul. "How may I serve you, my Master?" she asked.
"I cannot help but notice that everyone is not entirely… present," Darth Maul said, looking around. "Where is OceanMaster?"
"Orm?" Hila asked. "He snuck on a Republic shuttle back to Earth. He says he has some unfinished business he needs to take care of right now."
"Any of your personal agendas can wait," Darth Maul said. "But with OceanMaster alone on Earth, we need all the forces available for our plan," he stated. "Siren, you have OceanMaster's position now."
"Yes, Lord Maul." Siren replied, bowing respectfully.
"Relinquish the position only on my orders… or if OceanMaster returns." Darth Maul ordered.
Lady Shiva raised an eyebrow. "'If'?" she asked.
"Orm has chosen to seclude himself from us, from any backup," Darth Maul explained. "He will have to fend for himself if he is to have any success on his mission. He has his, so we must focus on ours." He stated before walking away.
Lady Shiva nodded. "Of course, Master," she said before looking to Komari Vosa. "When Vaapad Rage is ready, let me and Lord Maul know immediately," she ordered. "I sense that there is going to be much conflict ahead for all of us."
Back on Earth, at Mount Justice, the Equinox had just returned from New Zealand. As it was descending, Ahsoka was speaking with the rest of the Young Justice, save for Miss Martian and Superboy.
"So, I lost my memory back there?" Ahsoka asked.
"You almost took M'gann's head off," Robin said. "It was actually a bit terrifying, seeing you threaten us all."
"Can't believe that only three days before my birthday, something like this happened." Ahsoka mused.
"Well, it's not a total loss," Saw said. "Everyone pitched in, and we have something for you."
"Wait," Ahsoka said as she looked around. "Where are Connor and M'gann? I mean, it doesn't take them that long to change, does it?"
"You'd be surprised."
Ahsoka and the rest of the Young Justice turned as the door behind them opened. They looked in awe at the new suits that Miss Martian and Superboy were now wearing.
Miss Martian now had red boots, fingerless gloves of the same color, and a red x-pattern across her chest to reflect on her uncle.
Superboy now had a dark jacket over his shirt, with two contacts near his eyes that connected to the visor he was given after saving Kamino.
"Wow," Ahsoka said as she and the others stood impressed. "The new gear looks good on you."
"We got the idea from Anakin and Jaybo, to be honest," Miss Martian said. "I'm able to fully access my Martian powers and combine them with my Force abilities with these. Raven sure knows how to enchant clothing."
"Plus, though I'm not able to age or go full Kryptonian, I can now use heat vision to its fullest," Superboy said. "I saw this jacket a while back, and I thought I'd give it a try."
"Which now brings us to this," Artemis said, walking over to Ahsoka with a case. "Time for your new upgrade too."
Just then, the Hangar Bay doors opened. Ahsoka and the Young Justice looked out as Time Commander appeared, walking over to them with Katana and Metamorpho by his side.
"Time Commander?" Ahsoka asked. She looked to Katana and Metamorpho and smiled. "Tatsu! Rex!" she exclaimed before running right towards them, pulling them into a hug.
"Wait," Serra said. "What about needing them in the future?" she asked.
"It turns out that only one of them was needed in the future," Time Commander said "Katana and Metamorpho are still needed here."
"They are?" Ahsoka asked before looking to Katana. "What was it like there?"
"To be honest?" Katana asked. "Boring."
"We never got to do anything," Metamorpho added on. "Not much to be needed for."
"I will be needing to take more members," Time Commander said. He walked to Ahsoka and handed her a list. "These are not random selection, but rather necessary for the timeline in the future where they are needed."
"Hmm, Cyborg, Halo, Geo-Force, Vibe…" Ahsoka read off. She looked up to Time Commander. "Seems like an extensive list here, Commander."
"Maybe, but they are necessary to the timeline," Time Commander said. He gave Ahsoka a Card. "Dial this into any communication device, and I shall pick up. I know your friends might not be as understanding as Tatsu and Rex, so if they need time, they can have it. I'll be waiting."
Ahsoka nodded. "Thank you," she said. "I just hope this isn't too much a toll for us."
"You live long enough to see it through, trust me," Time Commander said. "I can't give away too much, but that's just enough to give you some satisfaction."
"Good to know." Ahsoka said with a nod.
Time Commander nodded back before walking through a time portal.
"Never thought we'd see him again," Anakin mused as he walked over. "We got through to Master Kolar. He's ready to speak to us."
"Doesn't sound like we missed too much," Katana said. "Let's join you for this."
Aboard the Equinox, the Young Justice and Anakin were gathered with Mace Windu and Obi-Wan Kenobi as Agen Kolar appeared before them in a hologram.
"Thank you for meeting with me on such short notice," Jedi Master Agen Kolar said. "I know there is business on Earth, but we have a situation back here in the Expanded Universe."
"What's going on?" Anakin asked.
"Padawan Kira and Master Echo have come across a new threat, a cell stemming from the Shadow Collective," Agen Kolar started to explain. "Force-Sensitives, harnessing the powers of the Dark Side, and wielding powerful blades. They call themselves Vaapad Rage."
"When did this start?" Mace Windu asked.
"Three weeks ago," Agen Kolar responded. "The threat seemed to be minimal at first, but over time, when Vaapad Rage rose up, other Force-Sensitives, some of who left the Jedi Order, formed cults of their own, standing for the Jedi Order. Most recently have been the Sun Warriors. Even with them, we are on the verge of a lightsaber war, with many casualties in the way," he said. "Many of their operations have been tracked down to the Planet of Ord Mantell."
"This could be a problem," Ahsoka stated. "If there is a war with lightsabers involved, many people could end up on the sharp end of the blade. We have to put a stop to this."
"Indeed," Agen Kolar said with a nod. "We need you back here more than ever. Please be careful." He said before signing off.
Obi-Wan turned to everyone. "Maul must be recruiting more Force-Sensitives into his ranks, trying to fill up for the Dark Jedi he and Gemini used to use against us," he said. "I'm surprised he's managed to engineer such a plan in a short amount of time after his last defeat."
"We'd best be on high alert if there's a group out there called Vaapad Rage." Aqualad said.
"Yeah, from what Ahsoka told us, it's the most violent lightsaber form out there." Artemis added on.
"The one that lingers closest to the Dark Side of the Force," Mace Windu clarified. "We need to ensure that this Vaapad Rage doesn't cause any more problems than they already have."
"Agreed," Ahsoka said. She looked to Katana and Metamorpho. "Up for a reunion mission?" she asked.
"You know it!" Katana said enthusiastically.
"Whatever we can do to help, we're in." Metamorpho added on.
"But we'd like just one adventure in space," Katana added on. "No offense, but Earth is my forte for missions."
"None taken," Ahsoka said before looking to Anakin. "Let Admiral Dodonna know we're headed to the Expanded Universe," she said. "Time to head back."
"Right," Anakin said. "I'll have him plot a course for Ord Mantell right away." He said before walking to the bridge.
"Speaking of which, Ahsoka," Miss Martian said, handing Ahsoka a box. "This is a late birthday present we've made for you. All of us pitched in to make it."
Ahsoka looked inside and smiled. "Can I put it on?" she asked excitedly.
"It's your gift." Zatanna pointed out.
Ahsoka smiled and walked to the Bioship to change. While she was in there, Rocket turned her attention back to the rest of the Young Justice.
"Are we really looking at a lightsaber war here?" Rocket asked.
"We'll do our best to avoid it," Jessica said. "Shei'Ten Kar is known for diffusing situations more than we unintentionally cause them."
"We should look out for the Shadow Collective and the Legion of Doom themselves if they're involved with this too," Saw said. "They may have a hand in what's going on if Vaapad Rage is a part of them."
The door to the Martian Bioship soon opened up. Everyone turned to see Ahsoka walking out. She was now wearing a dark-blue suit with a silver headpiece, dark-blue fingerless gloves that reached to her elbows, silver Tech gauntlets over her gloves, gold trim, navy stockings and black boots.
"Well?" Ahsoka asked as she inspected herself. "How do I look?"
"Like an entirely new person," Lux smirked. "You look good, Ahsoka."
"Thanks," Ahsoka said, walking up to her boyfriend. "I'm glad you all got me this. It's a great gift."
"Happy birthday, Ahsoka Tano." Miss Martian said.
"Alright," Anakin said as he walked back in. "Admiral Dodonna has just set a course for Ord Mantell. We should be headed right there as soon as we go through…"
Anakin was stopped by the new appearance Ahsoka had taken on.
"Something wrong, Master?" Ahsoka asked.
"No, it's just… that's a good look for you," Anakin said. "I need to get a new look for myself one day." He said with a grin before walking away.
"Alright, everyone, get ready," Ahsoka said as the Hangar Bay doors closed. "Let's get this show on the road!"
Everyone nodded and went into the Bioship. Ahsoka looked out and smiled before walking in as well.
Soon, the Equinox was high in the sky, aimed at the Vortex. Within a few moments, the hyperdrive activated, and they took off to Ord Mantell through the Vortex back into the Expanded Universe.
Back on Earth, in the depths of the ocean near Atlantis, OceanMaster was watching Queen Mera tending to Aquaman, currently handicapped due to the injuries he had sustained when the Legion of Doom attacked the Justice League at the Watchtower.
OceanMaster kept his trident aimed at his brother. "Don't worry about your aching bones, Orin," he said to himself. "Once my devices are in motion, they won't be ailing you any longer."
In Hyperspace, Ahsoka was looking over several battles that had taken place in the Expanded Universe with the Young Justice, all since they departed back to Earth. They could see several masked men battling other Jedi in white robes, different lightsaber weapons being used in each shot.
"Look at all this," Ahsoka said. "Vaapad Rage isn't kidding around. They've got some pretty advanced Tech."
"Yeah," Jaybo said, zooming in on what appeared to be a lightsaber-rifle hybrid weapon. "It's gonna be pretty hard to compete."
"I don't even think my skills with the Shadow Saber can match what these guys are capable of." Tatsu uttered with worry.
"Anyone got a plan?" Metamorpho asked.
"Yeah," Miss Martian said. "Maybe we could get some of the weapons of Vaapad Rage. I'm betting they all had to be made from the same place."
"Oh, right!" Serra said as everyone turned to the Shan. "We've sealed Ilum off from the Shadow Collective following their attack there last year. The crystals used for these new lightsabers must have come from somewhere else."
"Doesn't matter which color we get, just get four of them," Ahsoka said. "One for the search, the others to present to the Chancellors, and the other just in case."
"General Tano, we're coming up on Ord Mantell," Admiral Dodonna said. "I'm picking up heavy resistance from the surface."
"It must be Vaapad Rage," Ahsoka said. "Admiral, when we arrive, keep the Equinox stationary until I give a command," she ordered. "We can't risk any of the Allied Forces getting involved with what's going on."
"Acknowledged," Admiral Dodonna said on the bridge. "We'll be ready to send in any reinforcements should you need them."
"We'll be right behind you," Anakin said from outside as he placed his glove over his mechanical arm. "You'll need extra help to take on a cult of lightsaber wielders."
"Plus, I don't take kindly to knowing they're disgracing a lightsaber style I created." Mace Windu added on.
"Yes, Masters," Ahsoka said. "Thank you."
"I'm taking us down now." Miss Martian said as she started up the Bioship.
Nomad readied his Starfighter and gave a thumbs-up to Miss Martian and Ahsoka. As he did, Jessica started to glow before flying up, her eyepiece appearing over her right eye as both eyes glowed green.
As soon as the Hangar Bay doors opened, the Young Justice flew out, with Mace Windu, Anakin and Obi-Wan following behind them in a Gunship.
On the ground below, several Jedi in white robes, wielding either curved lightsabers, lightsabers that acted as bayonet blades for rifles, and lightsabers that had a Cortosis blade attached to it, charged at several figures in dark robes wearing masks that had horns of Darth Maul, as well as a visor that imitated his yellow eyes. In their hands were red hilts with a guard, all emitting dark-colored versions of every different lightsaber color.
The two sides collided and clashed blades. Many people in the area, from vendors to civilians, were either running away or were guided to safety by other figures in white robes.
"For the Jedi!" a Jedi in a white robe exclaimed before slamming his saber rifle onto one of the members of Vaapad Rage. He lowered the blades enough for him to fire on the Vaapad Rage member, sending them back.
The Vaapad Rage member let out a yell and performed a violent version of Ataru, almost matching the actual Vaapad technique. A Jedi in a white robe appeared to help his ally and used his Sun Saber to fend off against the attacks before swinging forth a cable attached to the end, allowing him to force the member of Vaapad Rage backwards.
"Look at that, as I live and breathe." Robin mused as he looked down from the Bioship.
Everyone watched as the battles continued. The Jedi in the white robe separated the lightsaber blade from his rifle before placing the firearm in his left hand while wielding his lightsaber. He fired at another Vaapad Rage member, who was attacking a Jedi with a hilt that had a Cortosis Blade on it. He backed away and lunged, damaging the mask, before activating his lightsaber and locking blades with him.
"Those Jedi are good." Katooni said with an interested smile on her face.
"We have to get down there and ensure the battle doesn't spread," Obi-Wan said. "There's no telling what kind of damage can be done with an all-out lightsaber battle."
"Agreed," Mace Windu said. "Ahsoka, you and the Young Justice secure the perimeter. Some of you stay to ensure the fight doesn't spread while you, Miss Martian, Serra, Barriss, Katooni, Jessica and Senator Bonteri, I mean Rebel, help us," he ordered, almost forgetting the alias Lux took on. "I sense there are more acolytes to Vaapad Rage than there are here."
"Understood, Master Windu," Ahsoka said as she pressed her headpiece, giving her a faceplate. "Alright, everyone," she said while taking out her lightsabers. "Let's move!"
"Artemis, take control!" Miss Martian called out as she flew to Ahsoka.
"On it!" Artemis replied, running to take control of the Bioship. "Move out!"
Ahsoka leapt out and dived right towards the battle. Serra leapt out behind her, followed by Miss Martian carrying Lux and Barriss carrying Katooni. Behind them, Jessica Cruz followed.
On the ground, several members of Vaapad Rage were taking on a single Jedi. Before one of the members could stab him in the back, Ahsoka landed, parrying away his blade, before tossing the knife from the sheath at her boot towards another cult member. This act attracted the attention of the rest of Vaapad Rage before Miss Martian floated down, her crossguard lightsaber activated. Barriss flew next to her while Lux and Katooni landed next to Ahsoka, all now with their lightsabers ready for battle.
The Republic Gunship flew down, and out from it came Anakin, Obi-Wan and Mace Windu, all with their own lightsabers drawn as well.
"Vaapad Rage, I take it?" Mace Windu asked. "You are under arrest in the name of the Jedi Order. Stand down, or you will be detained by force."
"And trust us, we are not Jedi to be trifled with." Anakin said, aiming his lightsaber at a Vaapad Rage member with a red pauldron.
The Vaapad Rage member walked forward, dragging his dark-purple lightsaber along the ground. "Master Mace Windu. As I live and breathe," he said. "I must say, your saber style is a legend to behold. To meet the creator of such a masterpiece is an honor."
"My style is not to be used to tarnish the Force or the Galaxy in such a way," Mace Windu said sternly. "Now… who are you?"
"Someone who was trained in the ways of Vaapad, and no other form, all to please my Master," the leading member of Vaapad Rage said. "I am Vrak."
"Well, Vrak," Anakin said as Katana leapt down next to Ahsoka. "How about you tell us just what Maul promised you."
"He will not deliver." Obi-Wan added on.
"Maul has promised us many things," Vrak said. "Power, weapons, enhancements… but what he has promised to us, to Vaapad Rage, is a place in his plan to rule the Galaxy."
"You're delusional." Katana remarked as she activated the Shadow Saber.
"Oh, but that's where you're wrong," Vrak spat back ever so calmly. "You see, the Republic and the Separatists, even the ORDER and the Sith, have been fighting this war for ages in all different forms. Put one element in control, and there can be no more fighting. It's those who fight for dominance day after day like you who allied yourselves with your enemies who are delusional. We simply want to complement the light by recreating it from the Dark Side."
"And you say you're morally right?" Miss Martian asked.
"What makes you Jedi think you're any better?" Vrak asked before holding up his lightsaber again, its dark-purple blade glowing dark.
"Stand down, Vrak," Mace Windu said. "Or else you shall face the consequences."
"Oh, Master Windu. I think we both know it's already too late." Vrak spat as one of the Vaapad Rage members aimed his lightsaber at Ahsoka.
"Remember, get four of their lightsabers," Ahsoka said as everyone readied their own lightsabers. "And try not to kill them."
"Yeah," Anakin said. "They're misguided, not evil."
Everyone stood ready as the Sun Clan reactivated their own lightsabers. Vrak aimed his lightsaber at Mace Windu, each Jedi and Sith standing ready for the fight.
At that moment, without warning, Vaapad Rage attacked. Katana ran forward with Lux and Barriss while Ahsoka charged forth with Serra, Miss Martian and Katooni by her side, the latter group running to join up with Anakin, Obi-Wan and Mace Windu. Jessica Cruz and Nomad prepared to run in, only to be interrupted by other Vaapad Rage members.
"Guess they'll have to wait." Nomad said, readying both of his crossguard lightsabers.
"No kidding." Jessica replied, activating her Royal Saber.
From the Bioship, Artemis and the rest of the Young Justice watched the battle begin.
"Look at all those lightsabers!" Wally exclaimed. "Gotta admit, not even I could avoid all of them."
"Probably best that we were ordered to stay behind then." Saw said as he was assembling his rifle.
"You're gonna try to gun them down?" Metamorpho asked. "But they just said not to kill any of them!"
"I'm setting this to stun, don't worry," Saw said. "We'll have little casualties if they have some extra eyes."
"Not too sure," Paula said. "A cult spawned from a group like the Shadow Collective will probably choose death than to go in quietly."
"Assassin instinct again, Mom?" Artemis asked.
"Not assassin… survival." Paula replied.
Back on Earth, OceanMaster followed Orin to the outside of his chambers. He readied his trident and aimed it, only to hear something from behind.
"OceanMaster!"
OceanMaster turned around to see La'Gaan floating at him.
"La'Gaan," OceanMaster said. "Scrappy as always."
"How dare you return to Atlantis!" La'Gaan spat. "After all you've done, you dare bring the scourge of the Shadow Collective here?!" he almost yelled. "Where is Siren?! Where is the rest of the Legion of Doom?"
"Not with me," OceanMaster said. "Now step aside," he ordered. "I've always been fond of you, and I don't want that to change."
"Too bad," a female voice said, causing Orm to turn around to see Garth and Tula, both with water hurricanes in their arms. "You've already betrayed us. It's now time to pay."
Several guards appeared and floated at Orm, but he spun his trident and slashed at some of them.
"Attack!" Garth called out, swimming with Tula and La'Gaan at OceanMaster.
OceanMaster stabbed another guard before Tula, Garth and La'Gaan all pulled out Water-Bearers, forming swords. He swam at La'Gaan, who slashed him back before engaging in a lock with Tula. As she pushed him off, several other guards approached, but he blasted them to death before Garth punched him away.
Inside, as Orm was resting, he heard the fight. He looked out and noticed OceanMaster being pushed back.
"OceanMaster…" Aquaman said sternly.
Katana leapt over the back of a Vaapad Rage member, knocking him down, before avoiding the blades of two more through a side barrel roll. As soon as she landed, she slashed away the blade of another attacking cultist before kicking them to the floor. She turned around, ducking from another blade, before placing the Shadow Saber in a reverse-grip. She parried away another attacking Vaapad Rage member before spinning around to lock blades with another. She kicked the member away and turned back around, parrying away the blade of the one behind her before kicking him to the ground as well.
Lux spun and avoided several blades directed at him before punching into the ground, sending out a short pulse that knocked the Vaapad Rage members around him into the air. As he got up, he was punched by a member of Vaapad Rage, disarming him of Ezra's lightsaber. He looked up and backflipped away as the Vaapad Rage member slashed down at him. He took out his blaster and shot at him, but he deflected the shots before one of the Sun Clan members used their saber rifles to strafe him down. The Vaapad Rage member violently deflected the blasts before tossing his lightsaber at the Sun Clan member, killing him. Lux looked up and caught his saber rifle as it fell, setting it to stun first before incapacitating the Vaapad Rage member.
"Whoa," Lux said as he weighed the blaster. He looked to the fallen Sun Clan member before closing their eyes. "Rest in peace." He said before picking up his dropped weapon. He placed it onto his belt before separating the hilt from the saber rifle, wielding the hilt in his right hand and the blaster in his left. He ran forward, shooting at several more of the Vaapad Rage members.
Barriss deflected several quick Vaapad jabs sent at her before locking with two sabers from behind. She swung her lightsaber down, forcing their blades down as well, before kicking them away. As soon as she did, she took out her other lightsaber, only for the fallen member to slash it apart. She reached out and grabbed his lightsaber from his hand, using both her violet blade and her dark-green blade against the other remaining Vaapad Rage members. As the disarmed member tried to punch her, she delivered a one-inch punch to his chest, knocking him out, before locking blades with two other members. As she Force-Pushed them away, she leapt up and slashed down, causing several more to fall from the shock of the slam.
Meanwhile, Nomad leapt away from several Vaapad Rage cultists, with one of them jumping up to attack him. The two swung their lightsabers at each other wildly before Nomad eventually kicked him to the ground. As soon as he landed, he spun around his crossguard lightsabers to deflect more attacks before locking with another member. He twirled around their blades before disarming the member, his lightsaber flying. As soon as he was disarmed, Nomad took out two blasters and stunned the member before catching the blade.
Jessica flew over everyone, slashing at different members of Vaapad Rage who tried to attack her while blasting down. As several members of Vaapad Rage were trying to dodge the attacks or take her down, Ahsoka was running through several of the Dark Side Users, eventually going back to back with her Master.
"These guys are way different from the Dark Jedi or Shadow Troopers." Ahsoka mused as she and Anakin held their lightsabers at the ready.
"Yeah," Anakin said. "They'd go down easy. These guys… they just don't quit."
"We're not having a kill count this time, right?" Ahsoka asked.
"You've been keeping score?" Anakin asked in surprise.
One of the Vaapad Rage users charged at Ahsoka, but she easily ducked under him before slashing away the blade of another behind him. She spun and deflected another attack before using her Soresu technique to knock another off-guard. She placed both of her lightsabers in a ready reverse-grip while Anakin stood ready to take on more Vaapad Rage members advancing on his side.
"Master!" Ahsoka called out, taking out her Master's first lightsaber. She tossed it at Anakin just as one of the Dark Side users on her end tossed his lightsaber as well.
Anakin caught his old lightsaber while sending back the enemy one flying towards him. As soon as he did, the Vaapad Rage members advanced at him more quickly.
Anakin fended off against two Vaapad Rage users with both of his lightsabers before Obi-Wan then deflected blasts from another using a fallen blaster.
"Thanks, Master." Anakin said.
"That's another one you owe me." Obi-Wan said before charging at the gunner. He deflected more and more of the blasts before using Shii-Cho to send the gunner flying, hitting a wall behind him.
"Take Kenobi!" one of the Vaapad Rage members yelled.
Obi-Wan stood ready and used the Force to push one of the members away. With one less to worry about, he slashed into the ground and spun around, kicking another one away before holding up his lightsaber to block an attack coming at him from behind. He spun around and Force-Pushed the surprise attacker away before kicking at another. He used the Force to grab one of the fallen lightsabers, the blade glowing dark-blue, before using both of his weapons to destroy the saber of another. He aimed his stolen weapon at his neck, causing him to stand down with his arms behind his head. He turned around and stopped several more attacks before kicking one member away. He readied his lightsabers once more before charging.
Anakin leapt on top of some crates and clashed with a Vaapad Rage member using a lightsaber pike. He fended them off with Ataru before kicking him off and getting back down. As soon as he did, he clashed with another before turning to lift his main lightsaber against a member coming at him from the side. He narrowed his eyes and spun around, throwing both of them off-guard, before Force-Pushing the two away. As soon as he did, he leapt into the air at one Vaapad Rage member about to take his head off. The attempted murderer looked up before Anakin slammed his blades at the ground in front of him. As soon as both blades were down, he deactivated his hilts and swung them up, knocking the member out.
Ahsoka held up her lightsabers in defense against two Vaapad Rage Users before another charged in. Quickly thinking, she kicked aside the two she was locked with before slamming one of her lightsabers onto the other. She pushed him back before sending a bicycle kick at his chest. As soon as she landed, she used the back end of her Arm-Mounted Crossbow Gauntlet to block an attack from her previous attackers before knocking the blade down. She spun around and punched the other previous opponent in the chest before sweep-kicking the other, destroying his lightsaber as it fell.
Miss Martian flew back from two Vaapad Rage enemies, blocking their attacks with Shien. She placed her crossguard lightsaber in a reverse-grip before parrying away two more attacks. As she locked blades with another, she grabbed his lightsaber, a dark-red blade, before slashing him down, only injuring him slightly. She looked around before performing more non-lethal cuts against the enemies. As soon as she got through, she held up her lightsabers in a Niman defense against three more members. One of them punched her to the ground, causing her to fall back. As she was recovering, one of them stabbed into her head, only for it to phase through.
"I heard you were pokey." Miss Martian remarked. She flew back up and performed a flying spin-kick at her attempted killer before flying forward and using her Martian Vision to throw two more off-guard. Once landing, she kicked the other away while slashing the other's lightsaber in half and then knocking him unconscious with the pommel of her hilt.
Serra used both of her Double-Bladed Lightsabers to fend off against the attackers around her. She noticed Katooni struggling against a member and Force-Pushed him away, causing Ahsoka's Padawan to turn around.
"Gotta keep your head up." Serra said with a grin before she went back to the battle.
"Can't fail now." Katooni said before she kicked off of the same Vaapad Rage member. As soon as she was in the air, she started to perform the Whirlwind of Destiny, deflecting blasts and tossed lightsabers heading her way as she fell. She eventually reached the ground and performed her finishing movement of the Whirlwind, sending several enemies scattered from the blow. As she got back up, she placed her lightsaber behind her back before slashing the weapon of her attacker out of his hand. Using both blades, she slashed at the mask of the Vaapad Rage member, sending him to the ground unconscious as she deactivated her blue blade and her dark-red blade.
Serra spun around as she deflected several attacks sent at her. She grabbed the arms of a Vaapad Rage wielder and spun on his back before sending a shock through his chest using a deactivated hilt. She spun around and continued to fend off using Niman before locking with six enemies at once. As she kept them locked, two more tried to attack her, but she leapt up and performed a split-kick, sending them away. As she landed, she cartwheeled forward, sending the six locked with her down. She got back up, still in a split, and blocked attacks from seven more, before spinning around and using her blades to send them flying away.
At this time, Mace Windu and Vrak were locked with each other. The two held their ground before breaking off, Master Windu holding his lightsaber out to the side with one hand while Vrak held onto his with both. The two circled, still utilizing Vaapad, before Vrak ran forward again.
"Master Windu! Catch!" Katooni called out, tossing the lightsaber she stole to Mace.
"Thank you, Katooni!" Mace Windu called out. He caught the lightsaber and activated it, blocking an attack from Vrak before several more Vaapad Rage members ran in and surrounded him. "You're embarrassing yourselves now." He mused.
The Vaapad Rage members ran in to attack, but Mace held his left lightsaber behind his back as he got down. While he held them, he spun around his main lightsaber and clashed with several more in front of him. He spun around and threw off the Dark Side wielders against his secondary weapon before felling another to the ground. He spun around both blades, locking with Vrak, before Vrak took another lightsaber and struck at Mace Windu.
Mace Windu leapt back from the attack as the two aimed their lightsabers at each other. Vrak ran and slashed at Mace, who kicked off of a nearby rock and onto a crate before punching him back. As he got down, Vrak recovered and upon regaining himself, let out a growl.
"Nice moves." Vrak spat. He let out a chuckle and ran at Mace Windu, who leapt over a crate over a member of Vaapad Rage before the two locked blades again.
"Do you really think you can defeat me?!" Vrak yelled.
"You take the name of Vaapad for granted. Little to no control is what you have of it," Mace Windu said as his eyes narrowed. "As the one to have created and mastered it, I shall show you just what a true Vaapad Master can do."
"As will I!" Vrak spat.
Mace Windu and Vrak both broke off, Vrak spinning around the two lightsabers he had. Before he could attack with his main one, Mace Windu slashed at him, disarming him of the dark-purple weapon. In return, Vrak slashed at Mace, getting the lightsaber he stole to fly out of his hands as well. The two kicked off of each other and reached into the air, Mace Windu grabbing Vrak's dark-purple lightsaber while Vrak now had two dark-red lightsabers in hand.
Vrak twirled around his dual sabers and placed them together, forming a Double-Bladed Lightsaber with a guard around the hilt. He spun the weapon around while Mace Windu utilized Vaapad, both of his lightsabers glowing brightly.
Vrak stuck out his new Double-Bladed Lightsaber, causing the guard to slightly separate from the hilt. With it separated, it spun around, similar to Lady Shiva's Inquisitor Lightsaber. He spun it around and slashed at Mace, who managed to block the attack with his main lightsaber before spinning back and using his second lightsaber to parry. He ran at Vrak and locked his main lightsaber with the top blade of the Double-Bladed Lightsaber before it started spinning again.
Mace Windu held up both of his lightsabers, rapidly deflecting every slash sent at him before stabbing his lightsaber into the ground, creating a shock. The tremor caused Vrak to fly off before Mace leapt at him. Spinning around at first, he then landed a kick at him, sending him to the ground. Mace Windu landed and advanced at Vrak, only for him to push him back with the Force. Mace Windu grunted as he fell to the ground.
"You're mine!" Vrak yelled, throwing his lightsaber.
Mace Windu's eyes widened before he rolled out of the way, the lightsaber barely missing him. Vrak used the Force to pull his lightsaber back, which slid to almost cut off Mace's head before returning. Mace Windu soon recovered and blocked an uppercut attack before he sidestepped and, with both lightsabers, cut his two hilts apart. Vrak yelled and ran at Mace Windu, the two locking blades with each other and circling around.
"You will gain nothing from whatever Darth Maul has to offer you!" Mace Windu spat.
"As long as I'm not vexed, I'm good." Vrak spat back.
"Then I hope you know how to keep yourself in check…" Mace Windu started before disarming Vrak easily. "And watching your temper."
Vrak looked up and growled as Mace Windu stood over him, aiming his lightsabers down at him. He tossed the lightsaber Katooni gave to him back to the Padawan learner of Ahsoka before Ahsoka, Serra, Miss Martian, Katooni, Barriss, Katana, Nomad, Jessica, Anakin and Obi-Wan surrounded him.
"Turn yourself in, Vrak," Ahsoka said. "It's over."
"Not until Operation Hell Saber has been achieved!" Vrak yelled. He regained his lightsaber, getting another dark-red one to replace the one stolen from him, and formed his Double-Bladed Lightsaber again. He spun it around and created a small sandstorm, blinding everyone. When the storm cleared, he was gone, leaving only the other defeated members of Vaapad Rage.
"Hell Saber?" Serra asked. "That doesn't sound even remotely good."
"What do we do?" Anakin asked.
"First, we take these ones in," Obi-Wan said. "Their lightsabers either have been destroyed or will be going with us to take to the Black Vault on Coruscant."
"I'm at least keeping one of these," Ahsoka said, picking up a Vaapad Rage Lightsaber. She turned it on, briefly turning to a dark-yellow, before turning it off again. "Wally wants to have more souvenirs because he feels he never gets enough of them anymore."
"He can have it, only if he doesn't use it recklessly." Mace Windu said.
"Way ahead of you, Master Windu!" Wally called out over the Comms system.
"We're gonna need a lead," Ahsoka said. "Something to help us find out where this Operation Hell Saber is taking place."
"And what impact it will have on the Galaxy," Katooni said. "What do we do, Masters?"
"Try to get some answers, for one," Anakin said as he looked to the members of Vaapad Rage. Some of them tried to escape, but the rest of the Young Justice appeared, Robin tossing bolas that wrapped around them and trapped them to the ground. "Thank you, Robin."
"So how are we doing this?" Obi-Wan asked. "It doesn't look like they could be reasoned with."
"Maybe not with violence… but another approach," Katooni suggested as she looked around. She turned to a member of Vaapad Rage, the same one whose mask she damaged. "Look, we're not going to hurt you, we swear," she said. "But listen up, and you're free to insult me for even doing this, if Darth Maul spreads this kind of violence everywhere else, there are tons of people who could get hurt. Do you have a family?"
The female Vaapad Rage Member's eyes widened. "A wife," she said. "And six children."
"Once Maul is done with you and all of Vaapad Rage, he won't care who he targets," Katooni said. "Vrak is right, we are sort of in the wrong for being a part of this War, but it doesn't make him morally justified. We aren't either, but we have a reason for doing this: to put an end to it," she stated. As she did, everyone had an impressed look on their face, one that they were sharing with each other. "I'm not going to ask you for too much, but please, if you know anything, tell us, and we promise we will not be the monsters you led us to believe."
The woman nodded. "First, that was very touching," she said. "Second, you can call me Moira," she added on. "And I do know something… each section where Maul is planning to pull off Operation Hell Saber."
Anakin was about to step up until Katooni lightly Force-Pushed him back. Before he could say anything, she motioned for him that it was okay. He nodded in understanding before walking to Ahsoka.
"You chose a good Padawan," Anakin said. "I see a lot of you inside of her."
"Birds of a feather, Skyguy," Ahsoka whispered. "Come to think of it, before I can call her 'Snips', I need to consider what she's gonna start calling me."
"That's the fun of it." Anakin snarked.
"There are more planets to where Operation Hell Saber is?" Katooni asked.
"Yes, about four more other than this one," Moira confirmed. "Castillon, Tehar, Najra-Va, and a Planet I can't believe no one touched until now… Shei'Ten Kar."
"My home…" Jessica said. "I can't believe it."
"What are they doing on those Planets?" Katooni asked. "Please, Moira. We have to know."
"Mining," Moira said. "Maul wants crystals. With the defense on Ilum proven to be too strong, Maul has decided to remove his focus from there, and place it on other Planets rich with crystals ripe for his new plan."
"She's not wrong about that," Jessica said. "Shei'Ten Kar has a lot of rocks and minerals."
"Enough to probably create more lightsabers with, I'm sure," Mace Windu said. He knelt down next to Katooni and looked to Moira. "What else can you tell us?"
Moira raised an eyebrow as she looked from Katooni to Mace. As soon as Katooni understood, she turned to the Master, eyeing from him to Moira. Understanding, Mace Windu stood back up and went to Anakin.
"She's taken a liking to Katooni." Mace Windu whispered.
"It is quite a spectacle." Anakin mused.
"Kind of makes you wonder how she managed to form a bond with Hondo in the first place." Ahsoka mused.
"He wants any Planet rich with crystals," Moira said to Katooni. "He doesn't care how strong, he just wants them for his plan."
"All for Operation Hell Saber?" Katooni asked.
"I'm sorry, but this is all I know," Moira said. "I wish I could help you more, but I can't. Even we are limited to the knowledge of the Shadow Collective."
"I see," Katooni said. "Thank you, Moira. We promise you will be treated fairly."
Moira smiled, to which Katooni smiled back. She got back up and looked to the rest of the Jedi and the Young Justice.
"Impressive," Katana said. "You've got quite a touch there."
"Thanks." Katooni said, nervously playing around with her foot as she did so.
"These four Planets… Maul chose them wisely," Obi-Wan said. "Najra-Va and Tehar are located far enough in the Unknown Regions to practically be stranded there, and Castillon is flooded enough to make it difficult to fend off against any of the Shadow Collective while Shei'Ten Kar is a neutral planet as long as it backs both the major parties of the War."
"And by the time we would find Maul, he could already be ready to launch this Hell Saber Operation," Anakin said. "Very clever, I must admit."
"I guess we need to think about this carefully," Ahsoka said. She looked to Katana and Metamorpho. "Looks like we might need you more than we expected."
"Hey, if Darth Maul is planning something like this, we can't ignore it." Metamorpho said.
"Whatever you need us to do, we're in." Katana added on.
"We will help out as best as we can as well," the leader of the Sun Clan said as the remaining Jedi walked up. "We will gladly continue to fight for the honor of the Jedi."
"Thank you, all of you." Ahsoka said. She looked to the four Planets and narrowed her eyes. "We're gonna have to split into teams for this one, it looks like," she said. "Maul might be operating somewhere not in those areas. We wouldn't find him anywhere in the four Planets."
"Splitting into teams?" Obi-Wan asked. "That could complicate things."
"I agree," Anakin said. "Vaapad Rage is more experienced than any of the other Dark Side users we've faced. It took all of us to take down one squadron today. What makes you think we can do it in groups?"
"They've probably never faced the Young Justice before," Superboy said. "I've held my own against tougher enemies. I'm willing to do what it takes to help."
"As are we all," Rocket said before turning to Ahsoka. "You have teams planned out?"
"Yes," Ahsoka said with a nod. "Let's get aboard the Equinox."
On Crait, Lady Shiva was meditating, balanced on her Shadow Saber and wearing a black tank-top with tight shorts.
"No light, no peace, no mercy…" Lady Shiva said. "No light, no peace, no mercy…"
As Lady Shiva was meditating, she heard a knock on the door. She opened her eyes and deactivated her Shadow Saber, landing back on the ground. As she did, she used the Force to grab her robes while walking towards her boots, placing her bare feet into them.
"Hey, LS!" Harley Quinn called out, entering the room. "We got ourselves a problem!"
"Harley, what have I told you about walking in on me?" Lady Shiva asked sternly. "I could have been naked!"
"Sorry, Lady, but as I stated prior… there's a little problem out here," Harley replied. "And Master Maul wants you yesterdays!
"I'll be right there." Lady Shiva said as she finished dressing up. She placed her Shadow Saber on her belt and walked out.
On Earth, OceanMaster swung his fists at La'Gaan, sending him into some seaweed. He turned back around and lunged at Tula, holding her Water-Bearer and his trident. She slashed at him several times, each strike being evaded, before he eventually punched her right arm, forcing the trident to fall back into his own hands.
"You could never be one of us! Not after you joined the Light!" Tula spat.
"I left the Light a long time ago!" OceanMaster yelled. "And when Sylas went soft, I turned on him too! The Light has no purpose other than to keep us restricted, to only maintain a balance. Darth Maul? He has a greater plan, one even greater than what was promised to us by Vandal Savage. I'm following Maul on his plans! Right after I rid Atlantis of its King!" he exclaimed before using the end of his trident to knock Tula aside.
"Tula!" Garth called out. He swam and caught her. The two smiled before swimming at OceanMaster, Garth tossing her his Water-Bearer.
Garth let out a torrent of water on OceanMaster, forcing him back. As he held his ground with his trident, Tula slashed at him with an axe construct and a hammer construct, both pressed against him. OceanMaster yelled and threw Tula off.
"OceanMaster!" a voice yelled.
"Brother…" OceanMaster hissed as he looked up.
Aquaman swam fast at OceanMaster, locking his trident against his. The two struggled to gain momentum over one another before the King of Atlantis broke off and punched him away. OceanMaster staggered back before the rest of the guards arrived. Aquaman swam at him once more, everyone standing back as they clashed tridents with each other.
"What do we do?" La'Gaan asked.
"This is a fight with the King and the Traitor of Atlantis," Garth said. "We watch."
Orm and Orin locked tridents once again. The two growled before breaking off, turning them into swords and clashing like before. As they did, geysers started to pop off around them. Orin noticed this and lured Orm further away.
"Run all you want, Orin!" Orm yelled.
"I plan to!" Orm remarked before a geyser shot up, surprising OceanMaster. With him blinded, Aquaman swam over and slashed his helmet off.
Everyone looked at what happened. Once the helmet fell off, they gasped in surprise.
Orin panted and looked to OceanMaster. "Orm?" he asked. "Neptune's Beard, what has happened to you?"
"I've wanted the throne for so long," Orm said. "Now, with the power of the Shadow Collective on my side, I shall rule all of Atlantis!"
"Not if we have anything to say about it," Aquaman said, turning his sword back into his trident. As soon as the blade retracted and his staff extended, he swung the trident at OceanMaster, knocking him to a geyser. Garth and Tula both held out their Water-Bearers, causing the geyser to freeze and hold OceanMaster in place. "Take him away."
"No!" OceanMaster yelled as the guards swam over and cuffed him. "Maul! You promised me power! Help me!" he called out. "Master! Maul! DARK SIDDDDDDDDEEEEEE!"
Orin turned his head away slowly.
"I'll… let the League know you'll be on an extended rest." Tula said sadly. She swam away, as did Garth.
La'Gaan looked to Aquaman and bowed with respect. "I'm so sorry." He apologized before swimming off as well.
Outside, back on Crait, Darth Maul was looking to more of the operations being done on the crystals in the caves. He scoffed with satisfaction before turning back around to leave, entering a command room.
Lady Shiva entered with Harley Quinn.
"My Apprentice," Darth Maul said. "I trust you have been using this time wisely?"
"Yes, my Master," Lady Shiva said. "What seems to be the problem?"
Vrak walked out of the shadows and removed his mask, revealing himself to have silver hair, golden eyes, and a scar along the left side of his cheek.
"I assume you remember Vrak?" Darth Maul asked.
"Hello, Brother," Lady Shiva said, rolling her eyes. "What brings you back from Ord Mantell?"
"And where is your little cult?" Harley asked.
"I was forced to leave my squadron behind," Vrak stated. "The Allied Forces have them now, and probably know of what we plan to do once we launch Operation Hell Saber."
"I see," Lady Shiva said. She walked to the table and pulled up holographic maps of the Planets the Shadow Collective was operating. "They'll be sending over reinforcements to take them down. We need the crystals for the plan, Master." She said, turning her attention to Darth Maul.
"Yes, they will," Darth Maul said. "I will need you on the front lines, to ensure that the crystals make it off-planet safely."
Lady Shiva nodded. "Of course," she said. "I shall depart to Shei'Ten Kar to ensure our plan is successful. We cannot have…"
Before Lady Shiva could go on, Siren entered.
"Forgive me for interrupting this, my Masters," Siren said. "But I have gotten reports from Earth… OceanMaster has been taken in."
"Is that so?" Darth Maul asked dryly.
"He attempted to assassinate King Orin, as you said he would," Siren said. "Shall we send out the Wrecking Crew to free him?"
"No, that will not be necessary," Darth Maul said. "OceanMaster knew what he was doing before he left. There will be no rescuing him."
"Master?" Lady Shiva asked.
"We need to remain focused on our plan," Darth Maul said. "OceanMaster's vendetta against his brother has only delayed it."
"What do we do about his fraction of the army you gave him?" Lady Shiva asked.
Darth Maul turned around. "Siren, you have proven to be a more capable fighter than Orm," he said. "Your abilities and skills have shown me… that you should take his place, his hold over the fraction of my army that I gave him, and the resources," he said. "You are now in control."
"Yes, Lord Maul." Siren said, bowing.
"Do not disappoint me," Darth Maul said sternly. "Now, you will take your leave to Castillon immediately. Vaapad Rage there will now be waiting for you instead of OceanMaster to arrive."
"I understand." Siren said with a bow.
"Najra-Va will be taken care of by Ma'alefa'ak, Vrak said. "General Zod can come with me to Tehar."
"Organize the Legion, and go," Darth Maul said. "I must oversee the preparations for Operation Hell Saber from here."
Everyone bowed before departing. As they did, Darth Maul looked up and grinned as a large red glowing crystal was arranged in the base.
Over Ord Mantell, back on the Equinox, several Clone Troopers were getting the Vaapad Rage members into their holding cells while collecting their lightsabers.
"You'll be fine, Moira," Katooni said as she personally helped Moira into her own cell. "I promise, whatever sentence is given to you will be a light one."
"Thank you, Katooni," Moira said. "For your kindness."
Katooni smiled before walking away.
In the control room, Katooni walked up to the rest of the Young Justice, Anakin, Obi-Wan and Mace Windu.
"So, four Planets," Nomad said. "Seems like we have a lot of work ahead of us."
"So what's the plan, Ahsoka?" Jessica asked.
"Two Jedi Masters, two Jedi Knights. One to each Planet, with a team of their own." Ahsoka said as she brought up the maps for each Planet.
"Shei'Ten Kar is mine," Jessica said. "It's my home, I can guide the team there."
"I will head to Tehar," Anakin said. "I've been there a few times before, so I'm sure I could put an end with my team."
"That leaves me with Castillon," Obi-Wan said. "I shall contact Master Fisto for help on this one."
"And I will go with you, General Kenobi." Aqualad said.
"I guess I have Najra-Va," Mace Windu said. "Rocket, Huntress, Metamorpho and Miss Martian, please assist me."
"You got it." Rocket said.
"Saw, I need you on my team, with Superboy, Barriss, Artemis and Jaybo." Anakin said.
"Affirmative." Saw complied with a nod.
"Aqualad, I know you're going with me, of course," Obi-Wan said. "Serra, Rebel and Robin too."
"You can count on us." Aqualad said.
"Right," Ahsoka said. "Well, for my team, I'm taking the rest. Katooni, Katana…"
"Too similar names." Katooni said as she and Katana looked to each other.
"May I finish please?" Ahsoka asked.
Katana and Katooni gestured for her to continue.
"…Kid Flash, Zatanna, and Nomad," Ahsoka went on. "Remember, we need to help Jessica with her Planet. No sight-seeing, and if you find any souvenirs, make your pick-up quick."
"Right, got it." Kid Flash said with a nod.
"We know our squads," Anakin said. "Let's move out."
"May the Force be with us all." Mace Windu said.
Everyone nodded before they went to get ready for their missions.
"You should take the Bioship," Miss Martian said to Ahsoka. "You'll have more stealth."
"You're better off with it than me," Ahsoka said. "Besides, I've got the Twilight."
Miss Martian chuckled. "Okay, fair enough," she said before holding out her arms to Ahsoka. "May the Force be with you."
"And you too." Ahsoka said before the two of them hugged.
A few hours later, after everyone said their goodbyes, the Twilight took off to Shei'Ten Kar, the Bioship to Tehar, and the rest of the crew aboard the Equinox to drop off Anakin and Mace Windu's teams.
"Well, everyone…" Ahsoka started out.
"This is where the fun begins." Anakin finished up.
At Sheev Palpatine's quarters back on Earth, the Supreme Chancellor was being filled in on what happened by Anakin. Padmé was also present.
"This is most troubling news," Padmé said. "I wish you the best of luck, Knight Skywalker."
"Thank you, Chancellor," Anakin said. "Both of you will be receiving the lightsabers we collected. Make sure to look over them. These new crystals seem to be coming from other Planets, and we'll need reinforcements."
"Of course," Chancellor Palpatine said. "Thank you."
Everyone signed off. Chancellor Palpatine, however, looked to the schematics of the lightsabers of Vaapad Rage, and inspected the combined design.
"Most… interesting…"
