The Pilgrim

Third Person POV

Percy opened his eyes and looked around he no longer was in the room he had woken up on instead he was on a open plain. The ground beneath him was grey and barren. As far as he could see there was only grey rock and nothing growing on it.

Then he saw in the distance a man coming, he was wearing shorts and only a tattered cloth acting as hood which prevented Percy from seeing his face. He was extremely thin to the point it looked like he hadn't eaten in years.

He stopped right in front of Percy and knelt down, he had a large gold dagger in his right hand. Percy tried to approach and call out to him but he couldn't speak or move ahead. The man lifted the dagger and abruptly slit his own throat as he felt and was dying he used the blood to draw some symbols which Percy couldn't recognize.

As he traced the last symbol he fell motionless, then a black liquid started seeping out of the ground and started climbing on the fallen man. The man started writhing and opened his mouth to scream. Percy still couldn't see his face or move to help him.

The liquid kept engulfing the man till he was completely covered. The liquid then finally dissipated and in place of the once shriveled man was now a muscular man but the hood still covered him so no part of his face was visible.

The man then slowly got up looked at his hand and said

"This power, I can feel is immeasurable but what is this sound in my head, what is happening to me!".

With that the dream ended and Percy woke up. But he knew he recognized the man's voice it was that of his mysterious benefactor the one who was called the Piligrim.

The door opened and Soltek entered,

"So you are finally awake. I assume you must have questions ask them and I will try my best to answer them."

Percy contemplated and then asked

"Firstly where am I?"

"You are in the Ethereum a realm out of space and time created by the piligrim for the housing and training of the chosen."

"Who exactly is the Piligrim?"

"He is an ancient being whose origins are unknown to me."

"Why am I here?"

"Are you slow? I already told you this place is for the training and housing of the chosen, so you are obviously a chosen of the Piligrm"

"Are there any others here?"

"No, you are the first ever to be chosen by the piligrim."

"I can not feel my powers or domains and I am a primordial one of the strongest beings"

"Neither you little Greeks nor any other pantheon have any power here the only powers which work here are those given to you by the Piligrim."

"What are the powers given to me by the piligrim?"

"You are his first chosen so I have no idea you will just have to discover them yourself."

"When can I leave?"

"When the pilgrim says so"

"How to contact him?"

"You can't he will contact you when he knows you are ready"

"Okay one final question what was that creature I was fighting."

"It is the war beast of Isidore"

"Wait what is Isisdore ?"

"Right now that is not your problem focus on the beast we will talk about Isidore later."

"So what should I do now?"

"Explore and rest today from tomorrow we will start your training"

With that Soltek left the room. Percy got up from the bed and observed the room he was in. It was opulent there was table on which there was and empty dish and glass. Was he supposed to eat from this. Then he got an idea he picked up the plate and said aloud

"Pepperoni Pizza"

And voila a pizza appeared in the plate, that was a neat trick. He then decided to leave the room and explore. He left the room and saw the structure of the building was like a courtyard with an arena in the middle. He checked the rooms next to his and saw they were identical to his. He assumed they were for other chosen like him.

He then entered the arena, there were a few dummies in the centre arranged in a row. At the end of the arena were some stands with many times of weapons ranging from swords to halberd, bows and arrows to spears. There were weapons made out of different materials. Few he recognized iron, celestial bronze, Stygian iron, there were also some he did not recognize. He couldn't exit the complex as there was some type of barrier preventing him.

But he did not want to even leave. He knew the creature he had seen easily outclassed him and maybe even Chaos. So he needed to train and he was ready to do anything to defeat it.

With a long sigh he started going back to his room accepting that this place was going to be his home for the foreseeable future.
