Chapter 4
I do Not Own Fairy Tail or Percy Jackson. They belong to Hiro Mashima and Rick Riordan.
Lucy was still distracted when she got to the Village's square, where the Chieftain and the Villagers were waiting.
Lucy was still distracted as she made her way to the village's square. She almost didn't notice when she arrived, and the villagers started giving her their gratitude. As the chieftain approached her, she snapped out of her trance and placed a small smile on her face. He beamed back.
"We Thank you, Miss, for ridding our village of those horrific monsters." He held out his old, wrinkled hand. In it was a key. "I know this isn't much, but it was all we could afford to give you." He said, looking down and sighing. "We found it recently. Just before the monsters started roaming the perimeter of our village."
The key was black, similar to Nico's. But instead of the skull at the end, there was a black butterfly, with jewels decorating the wings. It was more beautiful than anything she had ever seen before.
She took it from him, inspecting it. Then she gave them a blinding smile. "Thank you! I couldn't have asked for anything more." She bowed respectfully, then started making her way back to the guild hall.
?
It was dark. And cold. He couldn't remember how long he has been there, in this trance-like state. He remembered a sudden burst of light, and then nothing. He had been in a trance-like state ever sense. There was no one else with him, so he was alone with his thoughts.
His thoughts were not very good company, and only served to make his situation worse. He knew something was wrong. He had talked to Nico. Hades's son wanted to try something very risky; something that could've failed miserably. He had advised against it, but Nico was stubborn. He was no longer listening to reason.
He suspected that was the reason he was here, in this weird, dark place. It was something Nico had done.
He didn't blame Nico for what had happened. He doubted any of the heroes did. But Nico was hellbent on fixing his mistakes, turning the tides of the war, no matter what it took. It seemed he didn't even care if he died, as long as everyone else got their own lives back.
He thought it was foolish of him. But there was nothing he could do to change it, now; All he could do was wait.
And so he did, in the vast darkness, with no one to reassure him that he was, in fact, still alive.
~Fairy Tail~
Lucy had come back from her mission in an amazing mood, opening the Guild Hall doors...Only to be met with a flying chair. She yelped and dived to her left, anding on the Unfortunate Happy, who was busy eating fish. "L-Lucy…! I c-can't breathe!" Lucy got up as quickly as she could, a sheepish expression on her face. "Sorry, Happy.." Happy glared at her, flying up into the air. "God, have you gained weight?! You're 10 times heavier!" Lucy gasped, shaking her fist at the blue exceed as he flew away, laughing. "Idiot cat.." She took out her new key, inspecting it curiously. She wondered who would come forth from it. It was eerie, like Nico's, but in a much older way.
'I can't wait to see who it is..' She thought, smiling. 'And I bet Nico will be happy, too! I want everyone else to see, but Natsu and Gray wont stop fighting…' She looked towards Erza, and smirked.
She walked over to the knight, leaning down to whisper in her ear. "Erza, I heard that one of those two stole your strawberry cake." She pointed at Natsu and Gray. It worked immediately; Erza stood up, stomping off to bring forth punishment on the (supposed) thieves of her dessert. She joined the fight, and in mere seconds, Gray and Natsu were shivering, hugging each other, useless before the mighty Titania. Before the knight could deliver her finishing blow, Lucy stepped in, handing Erza a generous piece of Strawberry cake. "Silly me, Erza! I didn't see your cake on the counter. I guess they didn't take it after all." She faked an apologetic expression. Erza sat down happily, as if she hadn't just tried to commit murder over a pastry.
"So how did the mission go, Lucy?" She asked. Lucy grinned, holding up her key. "Great! They gave me a Greek key!" She exclaimed happily, nearly jumping up and down in excitement. Natsu peered at the key suspiciously. "Are all of them going to look this creepy…?" he mumbled, shaking his head, Lucy glared at him.
"Are you planning on summoning them?" Asked Gray, who, as always, had stripped down to his underwear. "Duh! I can't wait to meet them! Here goes."
She took a deep breath, lifting the key. "I call upon Thee, in the world of the Celestial Spirits! And now, I beckon you to my side at once! Pass through the Gate!"
?
Light.
After months in the dark, he saw light.
He didn't want it to go. He reached up, following it. The more he tried reaching for it, the further away he got. But he couldn't let it go away, he couldn't let it leave, he might never be able to get out of here-
In a last, desperate attempt, he jumped towards it, and it suddenly felt like he was doused in cold water.
Fairy Tail Guild Hall.
The room filled with fog. Black gates appeared, a skull in the middle, keeping them shut tight. Then the doors cracked opened. Black butterflies flew out, swarming the guild hall, flying around Lucy's face, until they finally came together in the shape of a human. Then they vanished, and in their place was a male.
He was a head taller than Lucy, with thick, black short cropped hair. His eyes were so black, it was like an endless pool of ink. He had smooth, Olive skin, and a scar that cut through the eyebrow. He took a deep breath, as if he had been underwater for an eternity. He stared at Lucy, his expression a mixture of anger and annoyance. Then he smirked, a smug aura around him. He sunk into a bow, his eyes still looked on her.
"It is wonderful to meet you, Dear~" He said, his voice silky. "My name is Jaxon. I'll be in your servitude until further notice."
Lucy furrowed her eyebrows, but decided to ignore his last sentence. "Hi! I'm Lucy. It's nice to meet you."
Jaxon straightened, his coy smirk never leaving his face. "There isn't much to be said about me. You can see my powers in combat. I am available every day, at every hour, so whenever you may need me, I'll be there." He said, putting his hands in his pockets.
"How old are you?" Natsu demanded, cocking his head to the side, narrowing his slanty eyes. Jaxon looked at him, his smile dropping, his expression becoming neutral. "I'm 20 years old. Why, is it a problem?" Natsu was about to retort, before Lucy stopped him. She smiled at Jaxon again, her hands behind her back. "I believe there are more of you? Nico was the first one I found." Jaxon's expression darkened. "Ah, yes. Di Angelo. If I'm correct, there are many more." He said, rubbing the back of his neck. "You should work on finding them quickly, blondie..~" He drawled, snickering. "There are many things at stake here that you have yet to understand." His eyes drilled into her, as if he was staring into her soul. "With that, I'll take my leave." He bowed again, before vanishing.
Lucy gaped at the spot where Jaxon was just moments before.
'What the hell does that mean?'
Bonus:
Jax looked around the practically empty room with disinterest, his lips pressed together. He spotted Nico standing in front of a map, red pins laced all over the place. He cleared his throat loudly, crossing his arms. Nico spun around, eyes falling on Jaxon. His jaw dropped open.
"Oh, Di Angelo..~" Jax drawled, his tone flat. "You have no idea what you've done."
