Whatever It Takes

Hello, everyone. This story is set after S1. Enjoy.

Hunter looked around and saw that he was in a laboratory. He saw someone lying on the table being experimented on. Then it shifted and that same person was now being tortured. Before he could even see who it was, everything changed. He watched as that person was killed by their masters. He rushed over and saw a helmet covering the face. He removed it and saw that it was Crosshair.

"No!" Hunter yelled as he woke with a start.

"Hunter, are you alright?" Omega wondered. Hunter looked and saw that they were on the Havoc Marauder. Everyone was now awake and looking at him.

"I don't know. Go back to sleep."

Everyone went back to bed while Hunter got up and walked up to the cockpit. He sat down and watched the stars go by. He had had this same dream every time he slept and it had been happening a week after they left Crosshair on Kamino. PArt of him wished that he had dragged his brother onto the ship, but he knew that Crosshair had to make his own choices. WIth each nightmare, Hunter grew more and more concerned for his brother. He knew that Crosshair wasn't going to live long with the empire. He had to do something. He just didn't know what.

A few hours later, they landed back on Ord Mantell. Everyone went to Cid's and they were paid. Hunter walked back to the Marauder without another word and everyone watched him.

"What's with dark and broody?" Cid questioned.

"He's had nightmares every time he sleeps. It's been going on for quite a while." Tech answered.

"Could it have to do with his fall?" Echo wondered.

"I don't think so. I think it has to do with Crosshair."

The rest of the batchers followed Hunter back to the ship. When they arrived, they saw HUnter sitting at the comm station just staring. Omega walked over and put her hand on Hunter's shoulder. Hunter looked down at Omega and smiled sadly.

"Hey, kid, what's wrong?" Hunter wondered.

"You're sad," Omega answered. She sat down on Hunter's lap and looked up at him. "YOu miss Crosshair, don't you?"

"Yeah, I do. We all do."

"What do you dream about?"

"It's hard to explain and it's not something you should worry about."

"But all of us are worried about you."

Hunter knew his brothers were watching him and he sighed.

"IT's the same every time. I'm in a Kaminoan lab and I see someone on the table. Then it changes and I see someone being tortured. Before I can see who it is, everything changes, and I watch that person be executed. I run over after their death and I remove the helmet and its Crosshair. And each time, it's more and more real. I can't shake it. I know something is wrong with our brother." Hunter explained.

"Then we should make finding and saving Crosshair our priority." Echo stated.

"I want to talk to Rex. See what information he has, but I want to do it alone."

Everyone nodded and left the ship. When they were gone, Hunter contacted Rex and contacted him back.

"Hunter, what can I do for you?" Rex asked.

Hunter explained his dreams and Rex thought for a moment.

"I don't have any information, but I do know someone who could help you with your dreams. I'll contact you in a bit." Rex stated.

Hunter waited what seemed liked ages. Then he got a communication from Rex.

"Here's what you'll need to know. If you need a ship, I can be there in a few hours." Rex stated.

"Thank you, Rex. Would you be willing to watch over my squad for a bit? I need to go alone. I can't explain it, but I have to." Hunter explained.

"Sure thing."

Hunter got up and walked outside and saw his family waiting.

"I'm done," Hunter said.

Everyone walked in quietly and watched Hunter pack.

"Where are we going?" Omega wondered.

"You're not going anywhere. I don't want to risk any of you getting hurt. I have to do this alone. Rex will be here soon and he'll take care of you while I'm gone." Hunter explained.

"Why can't we come with you?"

"I can't explain it, Omega. I just know that I have to do this alone."

Omega and Hunter hugged tightly till Rex arrived.

"The ship's ready. You should get going. I'll take good care of them." Rex stated.

Omega let go of Hunter sadly and Hunter squeezed her shoulder gently. Echo saluted and Hunter hugged him.

"Keep the others in line for me," Hunter said.

"Will do. You be safe and bring our brother back alive." Echo answered.

HUnter walked over to Wrecker who hugged him tightly and Hunter winced.

"I don't like this idea, but I know you." Wrecker sighed.

"We'll be back soon, Wrecker. Keep Omega happy." Hunter answered.

"Yes, sir."

Tech looked up at Hunter and they hugged.

"The chances of both of you coming back unharmed is very low. Just come back alive." Tech stated.

"We will. Keep the ship clean. I don't think Rex will be able to handle our mess." Hunter said

"I will try."

Hunter and Rex shook hands and looked outside.

"I'll take care of them till you get back. Do what you have to do." Rex said. Hunter nodded and walked over to Rex's ship. He walked in and took off to find some answers.

Omega and the watched Hunter's ship take off till it was gone. Wrecker picked Omega up and Omega began to cry.

"Uh, let's go inside and try and eat," Rex suggested.

It wasn't long before Hunter arrived at his location. As he neared the planet, it was almost too much for him. This plant had a very low population, but something deep inside the planet stirred inside of him. He landed and saw a temple outside. He grabbed his bag and walked out of his ship. He saw someone walked out of the temple and he stopped. The person removed their hood and looked at Hunter.

"You must be Hunter. Rex told me about you. Follow me." The person said.

"You're a Jedi." Hunter realized.

"Very observant. The answers you seek are inside. Follow me."

Hunter followed the Jedi inside the temple to a large room.

"SIt inside this circle. Tell me what is it that you dream of." The Jedi asked. Hunter sat down and sighed as the Jedi sat across from him.

"Uh. I'm in a Kaminoin lab and I see someone being experimented on and everything quickly changes. Next, I see that same person being tortured, but I can't see their face. Before I can see who it is. It changes. I watch that person be executed and I run towards them and I remove their helmet. I see that it's Crosshair. Every time I sleep, I have this same dream. It's been happening since the fall of Kamino." Hunter explained.

"I see. Let us delve more into your dream shall we?"

"Who are you?"

"I'm a Jedi. That's all you need to know at the moment.
