Gemma frowned when she saw Elliot come out of Olivia's room in a nice shirt and jeans. "Where are you going?"

"Out to dinner." Olivia answered as she came out behind him, wearing a simple black dress. She did a double check of the apartment windows, verifying all of the blinds were down and closed to ensure no more spying from Jimmy. "Noah is out for the night. He was exhausted. Please don't stay up too late."

"Why? You don't want me to see you two when you get home." Gemma grinned, perching herself on her heels on the couch. "C'mon, I've been waiting for you two to sleep together since day one. I'm not a prude."

Elliot fake laughed. "We are WELL aware of that." He leaned down and kissed her forehead. "Just behave and hold down the fort. Keep the door locked. If anything happens or if anyone strange comes by, call us. We will be back in no time."

Gemma rolled her eyes as Olivia kissed her cheek. "Well, that's not romantic. At least get a hotel for the night or something. You could even sneak back before I wake up. I'm not judgmental, but if you two need to-"

"Get your head out of the gutter." Olivia chuckled. She tossed the blanket Gemma usually slept with to her. "It's been a long day. Get some sleep. If Noah wakes up hungry, tell him he can have carrot sticks. He goes right back to bed."

Gemma sighed. "Fine. Have fun. At least make one reckless decision tonight. Do all the things I would do."

"Do I need to restrain you to get you to stop?" Elliot asked with raised eyebrows.

Gemma chuckled darkly. "Oh, you may want to keep those for later, especially if you two sneak off to a hotel." She fell back on the couch in laughter when Elliot's face flushed hot. Olivia blushed behind him before tugging on his arm to move towards the door. "Seriously though, relax and have fun."

Elliot held up Olivia's jacket for her to slip on before pulling on his own. "Goodnight, Gemma."

Gemma grinned again after they left. She locked the door, per their request, before grabbing her phone and dialing. "Hey, do you wanna come over and hang out? Maybe watch a movie?"

"I missed this." Olivia admitted, sitting in the passenger seat.

"Me too." Elliot grinned, digging into the box of Chinese takeout he had ordered. He sat behind the wheel and joined Olivia in looking out at the river over the hood of the car. Instead of having the pressure of a formal date in a crowded restaurant, they decided to get their favorite comfort food and eat like they used to on stakeouts. "Did they pack the egg rolls?"

Olivia dug through the bag until she found the longer container near the bottom. "Yes." She set it down on the counsel between them before stabbing her chopsticks back into her meal. "This is when I usually thought of her." The confusion was clear on Elliot's face. "Gemma. It was the hours of stakeouts in the silence. Whether we were on good terms or not, were laughing or arguing, I always thought of her when we were like this. I mean, I thought of her a lot despite my tries not to, but this was always it."

Elliot nodded. "Me too. I thought of her a lot more than I probably let on. Jesus, I thought of her everyday."

"Me too." Olivia whispered.

Elliot turned to her, resting against the locked car door. "Would it really have been so bad if we kept her? What I feared would happen then still happened now. If I had known that, I would've fought to keep her like you wanted to."

"I don't know." Olivia sighed, letting her food rest in her lap. "Part of me thinks it would've been better. I would've loved to raise her. But then I think about where we might be now if we had kept her. Without all of our years of partnership together. We had just started as partners when I got pregnant. If we kept her, who knows? You could've grown to resent me and Gemma for breaking up your marriage. I might've resented you for assumptions made by other officers about how easy I was to sleep with, not that you'd ever brag about it. Our relationship would've turned out very differently if we kept her, El."

"I might not have left like I did." Elliot stated, mostly to himself.

Olivia shrugged her shoulders. "Maybe not, but you might have left a different way. We're never going to know. It could've all turned out great. We could be married for fifteen years now with two other kids if we kept her. We have her now. Let's be happy with that."

Elliot smiled gently. "We have her and her dirty mind."

"Dear God, she's incorrigible." Olivia chuckled. She stabbed into her food again before meeting his eyes. "I wanna be with you, El. I'm done holding back. I'm done being guarded. I'm sick of protecting myself against everyone."

"You don't need to protect yourself around me." Elliot reassured her.

Olivia smiled before leaning over the counsel and kissing him. She bit her lip when she sat back and saw him stunned by her sudden display of emotion. "Good. You have all of me now. I'm not saying it'll be easy, but I want to be all in."

Elliot smiled one of those cocky shit eating grins that either excited her or irritated her depending on her mood. "We could go all in if we hop in the backseat." He laughed when Olivia chucked a piece of broccoli at him with her own giggle.

"Alright, I brought a couple movies. I didn't know what Olivia had in her collection." Carisi said as Gemma let him inside the apartment and locked the door behind him. "I don't know if you've seen any of these, but-"

The second he turned to her, she was flush against him. He grabbed onto her hips to keep upright as her lips pressed against his. Her arms wound around his neck, and he felt her smile between kisses. He grinned himself before she backed him up to the couch. His knees buckled, making him fall back on the couch. Gemma didn't seem fazed by the sudden movement. Her legs swung over his, and she straddled him before her lips met his again. His hands found her hips again, but they didn't stay there long. He ran fingers up her back, tracing her spine, grazing her sides. After a few moments over her lips moving over his, he gained the confidence to move one hand down to her ass. He was rewarded when she opened her mouth to him, allowing his tongue to seek out hers.

His other hand moved to her jean clad thigh. It took everything in him not to move things further along, and even more when her hands sought out his belt. He tore his lips from hers and grabbed her wrists gently. "What are you doing?"

"Um," Gemma frowned slightly, "I was hoping to get some clothes off of you."

"I don't think that's a good idea." Carisi panted with a shake of his head. It was his turn to frown when Gemma flung herself off of his lap and sat beside him, curled into a ball. "What's wrong?"

Gemma ran her hand through her hair. "Is it because I fuck people for a living or because I'm eighteen?"

"What?" Carisi asked, confused by her question.

Gemma rolled her eyes. "Why you won't sleep with me? Have I been with too many people for you to be with or am I too young for you?"

Carisi reached for her hand, grabbing it even when she tried to pull away. "Gemma, look at me." She looked the other way. "Look at me, baby." He didn't know if it was the pet name or the lack of breath, but she met his eyes. "I want to sleep with you. You have no idea how badly I want to continue what was just happening, but we haven't even gone out on a date yet. I don't want to be another guy who sleeps with you like it's no big deal. I really care about you, and, if we do sleep together, I'd like it to mean something more than just a few minutes on a couch." He leaned over and pecked her lips. "I'm not going to treat you like every other guy in your life has. I want that emotional connection. Because, sex isn't just sex once you have that."

Gemma bit her lip before nodding. "I get that." She dropped her forehead to his and caressed his cheek gently, a stark contrast from her rush attack on his body when he arrived. "You're nothing like those guys anyway. You're nice and sweet. It makes me nervous."

"My being nice to you makes you nervous." Carisi repeated back to her. It broke his heart to think that she had been handled roughly so many times that she was more comfortable with that than with a gentleman. He wrapped his arms around her, kissing her hairline. "I don't want to make you nervous."

"It's a good kind of nervous." Gemma smiled before leaning up and kissing him gently. "I've never had this kind of nervous before, the butterflies in the stomach feeling. It's exciting." She bit her lip before glancing towards the front door. "Sorry for jumping you like that."

Carisi chuckled and shook his head. "You don't ever need to apologize for that. I'd rather you greet me like that than the girls from my old neighborhood do. I'll take a makeout over being ignored because of a soap opera on TV every time."

Gemma dropped her forehead to his chest with a smile. She slowly met his eyes again, suddenly feeling tired. She could see his lack of sleep under his eyes too. "So when can I plan on that emotional connection."

"Well, the common number his after date three." Carisi shrugged.

Gemma's scoffed. "Date three? We might as well just get married at that point. That's a long time to go without sex." She saw the amusement on his face and rolled her eyes. "But, I guess that's normal for other people. What are we supposed to do in the mean time?"

Carisi snickered. "There's kissing, making out, touching over the clothes. It's called foreplay. I have a feeling you haven't experienced much of that kind of treatment." He saw another eye roll from her before kissing her again, laying her down on the couch. "It makes the end result better."
