"No wonder she wanted us to get a hotel room for the night. She had plans of her own." Elliot scoffed as he and Olivia walked back into her apartment. Carisi was sitting on the couch with his feet propped on the cluttered coffee table. Like Gemma, he was asleep with his arm wrapped protectively around her and a blanket draped over both of them. From what he could see, all clothes were still on and presentable. When Olivia hugged his arm and leaned against his side, he gazed down at her. "I have the strong desire to rudely kick him out."
Olivia muffled her laugh in his shoulder, squeezing his arm gently. "Let them be. He's a good guy, and he cares for her." She tugged on his hand, walking towards her bedroom. "C'mon, let's go to bed. We can embarrass her in the morning or at least attempt to."
Elliot followed her even as he continued to glare at the couple on the couch. He didn't stop until she pushed him inside the room and closed the door, leaning back against it heavily. "Liv, she was on the verge of a breakdown yesterday. Now, we're letting her have sleep overs."
"They are on the couch where any of us can walk in at any moment. If they were fooling around, I'd think they would hide it better." Olivia stated. She swallowed hard though when Elliot started to angrily unbutton his shirt. The amount of times she had imagined the sight was enough to send a pulse to her core. "She's an adult. She can make her own choices."
Elliot nearly tore his shirt off before tossing it in the corner. "I get that. Her experience is extensive. She knows what she's doing, but we are still her parents. Don't we get some say in whether or not she has her boyfriend over." He looked back at her, frowning when he noticed she was biting her lip with a smirk on her lips. "What's wrong? Why are you looking at me like that?"
Olivia shook her head, crossing her arms over her chest. "Nothing's wrong. I just. . .this is a little embarrassing." She closed the space between them, running her hands from his chest up around his neck to clasp behind. "I've always been a little attracted to angry Elliot. So, seeing you get so worked up over this-"
"Turns you on." Elliot concluded softly, resting his hands on her hips. He caressed her through her dress in circles and leaned in, skimming he cheek with his lips. "Just for my own curiosity, how turned on does it make you?"
Olivia smirked and pressed her hips against his, earning a groan from deep in his chest. "Enough to make it hard to keep taking things slow." She pressed her forehead to his. "Part of me just wants to say to hell with all of it. I've spent more than half of my life wanting you. We've got a grown daughter who won't shut up about us escaping to hotel rooms or sneaking off to broom closets."
Elliot spoke before he even realized the words were coming out of his mouth. "I've always wanted to pull you into the interrogation room."
"Well, now we know where her dirty mind comes from." Olivia whispered before kissing him. She held him close, wanting as much of his body against hers as humanly possible. She clung to him until the back of her legs hit the bed and she was falling back on the mattress. When he didn't follow to climb on top of her, she frowned. "What are you doing?"
Elliot ran a hand down his face. "Hopefully not leaving myself with blue balls for the rest of my life." He kneeled down between her legs and pulled her to sit up. "Liv, you said you wanted us to go slow. This is the complete opposite of that."
"We've been going no where for twenty years. Screw going slow." Olivia smiled before kissing him again. "Don't tell me I have to convince you."
"Please don't try." Elliot gulped, his Adam's apple bobbing in his throat.
Olivia chuckled darkly. "So, you don't want to hear about how I used to get myself off thinking about you angry." She kissed each of his closed eyes. "I thought it was the sexiest thing in the world: you getting angry. The things I imagined you doing. El, you had me touching myself to you when I already slept with you years earlier. I could feel you when I laid back on this very bed."
Elliot gripped her thighs, but he resisted pulling them further apart. Deep breaths, bad thoughts. "You're torturing me."
"I can give you sweet relief if you take off your pants and join me on the bed." Olivia reassured him, kissing along his jaw. Her hands were back on his shoulders and neck, sending goosebumps all over his body. "There's nothing stopping you. I am giving you permission."
Elliot captured her lips for a brief moment before standing. He took a few steps back from the bed and closed his eyes, trying to block out the visual aid in front of him. The woman he loved more than anything sat on a bed in a sexy dress and was giving him permission. He pinched the bridge of his nose though. "As much as I want to, I can't do this. I don't feel like I've earned the chance to be with you. I mean, I fucking left you. You want to take things slow, and I respect that. I need to gain back your trust. And, I want that before we do this."
Olivia waited for him to open his eyes, but he looked as if he was in actual pain. "El, baby, come here." He shook his head. "Just come sit by me." He finally opened his eyes to that, slowly sitting down beside her. She took his hands into hers as he stared down at them. "I know that you feel guilty about leaving, but you're making up for that. You're here now, aren't you?"
"I should've been here." Elliot breathed. He squeezed her hands. "None of this was supposed to happen."
"El, we can't change the past." Olivia stated, pressing her forehead into his temple. "But, you've shown me that you're here; you're committed. I trust you. If you were anyone else, I would've thrown you out on your ass. You aren't just anyone though. I'm actually happy with you. More than everybody on this planet, I trust you with my life." She stroked the back of his head. "Now, why is it that you're feeling guilty after I tell you I'm ready to be all in?"
Elliot kissed the back of her hands, caressing her fingers. "I guess I thought that I'd be spending the rest of my life trying to earn back our friendship, your trust, just to be in your presence. I thought it'd be an eternity, but I've underestimated how unbelievably amazing you are yet again. I guess I just never thought I would get the chance to be with you like this. I was prepared to fight for you, but I didn't prepare for your forgiveness and love." He turned his head to kiss her lips. "And, you deserve for us to take things slow. You might kill me making confessions like you just were and kissing me like that. Hell, I half think someone spiked your soda from the restaurant, and it makes me nervous to wake up in the morning and find out what you think. But, I want to give you everything you want by taking things slow."
Olivia pecked his lips. "I'll try not to kill you."
Elliot smiled in relief, letting out a breath of a laugh. "At least, I'd die happy."
Elliot wanted to turn around and go back to bed when he walked into the kitchen to see Carisi sitting at the counter with a cup of coffee. He took a quick glance over at the couch to see Gemma was still asleep, and it made him happy to see she was catching up on the sleep that had scared her the past couple nights. Grabbing his own mug from the cabinet, he filled it from the cooling coffee pot and turned to Carisi. "Sleep well?"
"My back is a little stiff, but I can live with it." Carisi shrugged. He paused when Olivia entered the kitchen next to repeat Elliot's routine. "Nothing happened last night. We just watched a couple movies."
"I can see my daughter's teeth marks on your neck." Elliot stated plainly, his jaw becoming tense. "Something happened."
Carisi saw the questioning look from his captain and sighed. "I came over, and she wanted to. I told her we should wait. Not that it's any of your business." He shook his head behind his coffee cup. "I should get an award. She knows how to get what she wants."
Elliot leaned back against the counter, glancing at Olivia as she filled her mug. "I know where she gets it from." He jutted his chin towards Gemma. "How did she sleep? She didn't wake up at all last night, did she?"
Carisi shook his head. "No, she slept like a rock. Still is, as you can see." He smiled to himself, staring into the swirling brown liquid in his hands. "I'm happy she is. She mentioned that sleeping had been causing problems since her encounter with Jimmy at the club." He glanced between the two of them. "I haven't listened to the tapes."
"Don't do it." Olivia breathed. "For your sanity. Just. . .don't do it." Carisi nodded before Olivia's phone started vibrating on the counter. He hopped off his stool as Olivia answered. "Benson."
"I assume this is Olivia Benson."
Olivia's blood ran cold. The voice was all too familiar, and it made her fingers itch to reach for her gun. "Yes, this is she. May I ask who this is?"
The voice on the other end chuckled. "I'm sorry. Where are my manners? My name is Jimmy Kirk. I'm Gemma's boyfriend." He was cocky with a layer of fake charm coating his words like frosting on cake. "She told me that she found you and her father, and I was just thinking it might be nice if we all got together for lunch."
"Lunch?" Olivia's eyes widened, but she kept her voice neutral.
"Yes, whatever day suits you." Jimmy reassured her. "If you need to talk with Gemma's father or with Gemma about it, I'm more than happy to leave my number with you and wait for proper arrangements."
Olivia met Elliot's eyes, and she knew her fear must've shown because he was immediately alarmed. "I'm sure Gemma has it. I will talk with her, and we can coordinate something soon."
"Excellent. I look forward to hearing from you."
Olivia didn't have the chance to speak again when the line went dead. When she pulled the phone away form her ear, Elliot was quick to offer help. "Liv, baby, what's wrong? Who was that?"
"It was Jimmy." Olivia breathed, setting her phone down on the counter. "He wants to have lunch with us and Gemma."
