A/N If you read my old fic about my OC TTTE fangirl, you'll see I decided she's on the autism spectrum, but like me. However, that's just my head-canon on her, that she's high functioning without speech delay. She has and does some things I never had or did that are TTTE related, but is loosely based on me as a small child. My head-canon on her's based on her ability to combine words even as a toddler and TTTE love.
Autumn, a toddler a few months shy of 3 was on a flight across the pond. She lived in Pennsylvania with her mom and dad and they were going to England, where her dad was from, to visit his relatives. Her favorite toys and a coloring book were with her, due to being packed in their carry-on luggage and she was listening to children's songs. This would be the first time the girl and her cousin met, but all she could think about was the "choo-choo twain", as she called it, she was now coloring.
Autumn's dad said, "My homeland, the UK, invented choo-choo trains."
"We see one?", Autumn asked.
His reply was, "If we go near a heritage railway or some place that does tourist trains."
Autumn's dark brown curl covered little head nodded and her deep brown eyes closed after that. It was naptime for her. When she woke up 2 hours later, they had arrived.
Autumn's dad said to his daughter, "Now, we're in Daddy's old country.". They did everything they had to do at the airport and then her dad drove the car he rented to the town his sister lived in and they got settled.
Autumn's Aunt Mandy told her brother, "Maybe she'd like Drayton Manor. They've got a Thomas section for kids."
His reply was, "I thought, being a girl, she wouldn't be into it, but I've had to reconsider. She's got mostly real girly things, but her last coloring book was just a general one and she really enjoyed coloring the train picture. Her TV and video viewing so far's been puppets, like Sesame Street along with girl targeted kids programming, CocoMelon and other kiddie singing videos. Her mom thinks unless she's molded really girly, she shall think she's a boy someday."
"I shall talk to my sister-in-law," was the reply. "I'll tell her what actually causes girls to think that way."
So Mandy talked to her sister-in-law and eventually convinced her to let Autumn go to Drayton Manor. Then, one day Autumn and her parents, aunt, uncle and cousin went to the park. Autumn was in a stroller due to her toddler legs needing a rest from walking after a bit. She saw the model train display and said"Choo choo. Cute choo choo.", while pointing at a little blue model tank engine, her face lit up.
"That's Thomas," her cousin said. "He's a book, TV and even movie character. They've even mass produced toys of him and his friends. It's a whole franchise."
Autumn asked, "Wazat?", referring to a franchise.
She was told, "It's a way to distribute something, like DVDs or toys or anything branded. DVD's are a way movies and the like are played."
Autumn and her family moved on from the "choo choo twains", as she called the display. She and her parents were there until she got cranky. They went to where they were staying and the child had her nap and they went on with their evening routine.
Autumn asked her dad for a bedtime story saying,"Choo-choo twain book?" referring to The Railway Series books her cousin had outgrown. After falling asleep, she had a dream about Sodor.
In Autumn's dream, she was in the shed with Edward. "Hi Edwawd", she said. Thomas, Henry and Gordon were there, too and everyone was just waking up. After a while, as the engines were puffing out of the shed, she came out of her dream. The day went by and a few more. Then, it was time for Autumn and her parents to go back home.
A/N She won't have daydreams of Sodor like in the other story, but I can give her night dreams of her imaginary friends, which is how they are to her more or less. Her cousin's older than her. She doesn't dream about them all the time, but those times just don't appear in the story.
