It was going on three o'clock in the morning and Olivia was just now stumbling into the house she shared with her husband of seven years. She immediately kicked off her red bottom heels and once the door was closed behind her, Curtis flicked on the lights. "Where have you been, Olivia?" He asked, nearly scaring her to death.
Olivia ran her fingers through her silky pressed hair and chuckled, "I- I've been out. Obviously." She replied with a slight slur as she rolled her eyes and motioned her hands down her body to show off her skimpy dress. "Out where, Olivia?" Curtis shot, confused more by her disrespectful behavior than her late arrival and disheveled clothes.
"Damn, have you always been this nosy?" She asked while trying to bypass Curtis to get to the stairs. Curtis then grabbed her by the arm which prompted her to stop in her tracks and face him. "Curtis, get your hands off of me. Now!" She semi-yelled as she yanked her arm from his tight grasp and continued upstairs.
Once Olivia had reached their shared bedroom she went to the adjoin bathroom and gathered a few of her toiletries then she went into her closet and began to pack an overnight bag just as Curtis came into the bedroom. "Be- before you even ask, I am going to Abby's! We went out and something came up which is why I rushed home to pack. I have to go be with her." She explained as best as she could. Once her bag was packed with what she'd need she tossed the strap over her shoulders and attempted to stand, only to nearly tumble over, but she quickly caught herself with the wall and laughed loudly. "Oops!"
Curtis would've laughed too had Olivia not been trying to run off in the middle of the night, so he stood there, eyeing her down and seething with anger. One thing for sure though is that she wasn't going anywhere. "Olivia, you aren't going anywhere. You can barely stand! Put your things away and get into bed. Abby will be fine." He said as calmly as he could in this moment. Olivia paid him no mind. She was humming a tone while finding something a little more comfy to change into before her journey to Abby's.
"Olivia!" Curtis shouted causing her to jump this time. Olivia was clearly out of it. "What has gotten into you? Something's clearly wrong? Are you- are you high?" He hadn't realized it before, but now he could smell the stench of marijuana on her which angered him even more.
Olivia sighed in annoyance, so many things were going through her mind, and to make matters worse the damn room wouldn't stop spinning. "Nothing's wrong! I am oookaaay!" Olivia sang before cackling loudly and walking out of the bedroom door. Curtis allowed it as he tried to calm himself, then he followed behind her soon after. "Olivia, I'm not going to tell you again. Get back upstairs and-"
Before he could even finish his threats, their front door came flying open and a male voice came through, "Baby, is everything ok? What's the hold up?"
Curtis quickly turned to the guy standing in his doorway with his brows furrowed and fist clenched, who the hell does this guy think he is, barging into my house and calling my wife "baby", Curtis thought, but before he could even voice himself Olivia walked up to the guy and answered sweetly, "Everything's fine, Fitz. Wait for me in the car. Please."
"Fitz" then nodded his head with a smug smile plastered on his face and walked out the door just as smoothly as he'd come in, but not before placing a smacking kiss on Olivia's lips. Curtis stood there, stunned to silence in disbelief.
"Look Curtis, I'm tired. I want out of this marriage. I can't pretend anymore. You just- you just don't do it for me anymore. Never have, really. I want happiness. I want to live my life how I want. We're both still so young, go out there and find you some happiness too."
She took her eyes off of him and walked out the door, leaving him with fresh hot tears streaming down his face and a broken heart. As Curtis turned around from staring blankly at the door for at least two minutes their seven year old son sitting on the stairs caught his attention, he quickly wiped his face and tried to put on a cheerful smile. "Hey, buddy-"
"Is mommy coming back?" Isaiah questioned in a whisper and Curtis nodded with a smile, although it didn't quite reach his eyes, "Of course she is, Isaiah. Now let's get you back into bed."
But deep down within Curtis knew that was a lie. He saw the look in Olivia's eyes. She was done.
And scene! Let me know how you guys like it so far? Curtis and Olivia's story will unravel with time as well as how Olitz came to be!
