First off, many thanks to those who reviewed this fic, I really appreciated it and this gave me inspiration to work on the next chapter and here the current story arc picks up where the last chapter left, as the summer festival is gearing up, and Natsumi is making preparations that would involve Naegi…

Ch. 46: Natsu matsurinojunbi
Hope's Peak Academy.
It was summertime, and the headmaster officially announced the beginning of the vacation, and he also announced that the academy has unveiled an expanded swimming pool area inside the campus, much to the students' delights. This was in response to a student who suggests that they should have another one since some more and more transfer students came, and some who are attending summer classes, and with the heat wave kicking in, the students are starting to complain about the bad heat and sweating in their school uniform.
"WOW! THE SWIMMING POOL'S BEEN EXTENDED! A SEPARATE ONE! NOW WE WON'T HAVE TO HOG THE SPACE!"
"WOOHOO!"
"I'M GOING SWIMMING!"
"YEE-HAH! NOW I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO HAVE SWIMMING AFTER CLASSES!"
"COME ON, LET'S GO!"
"YIIPEE!"
"YAHOO!"
Some of the main course students flocked the new swimming pool and are pleased that they can do something after enduring the summer heat, and are wanting to enjoy this moment, and the students could not contain their excitement as they donned their swimming attires and jumped onto the pool.
"WOW! THE SWIMMING POOL'S BRAND NEW! AND IT'S A BETTER ONE! NOW WE WON'T HAVE TO HOG THE POOL ANYMORE"
"WOOHOO!"
"I'M GOING SWIMMING!"
"YEE-HAH! NOW I'M SOAKED! I'M GONNA DIVE!"
"COME ON, LET'S GO!"
"YIIPEE!"
"YAHOO!"
As the students leave for home and the others to malls, the scene shifts at Class 80's classroom, where Natsumi is preparing her things as she is about to leave, and there Akamatsu asked what her plans are, as she invited her to attend a summer festival, and Natsumi said that she coincidentally be going there as well, as she is going to sell hand towels as part of her contract with suppliers.
Akamatsu smiled and said it is a good idea, and suggested that she invite Naegi so that she can have a summer date and the two can go all lovey-dovey, causing Natsumi to blush deeply and tells Akamatsu to knock it off.
"Wh-what…?"
"You heard me, Natsumi-chan!"
"…"
"You and Naegi-kun do the kissy-kissy poo…"
"Hey!"
"What?"
"We wouldn't go that far!"
"Hee-hee-hee…"
Akamatsu giggled and said its natural since Natsumi and Naegi are dating, though Natsumi admitted that they are dating in secret, due to the fact that Fuyuhiko would surely make a fuss about it. She then left as she has OTHER THINGS TO DO.
Akamatsu followed, where she found out that Natsumi met up with Naegi and invited him to go with her at the summer festival, saying that aside from a date, he can work there part-time to earn money, and the Luckster asked if it's okay for him to work with her, which she said that it is okay as he would get to earn money and that they can attend together.
"Eh? Are you sure?"
"Yeah, I'm sure."
"But that's…"
"It's fine."
"Really…?"
"Yeah."
"…"
"…"
However, Fuyuhiko showed up, having overheard the conversation and tells Natsumi that she should not bring Naegi with her reasoning that he might dupe her into showing her BOOBS to him, eliciting snickers from passing students, and Natsumi to blush in embarrassment and this resulted in a loud bickering between the Kuzuryuu siblings.
"You fucking freckled-face!"
"Freckled-face? "
"What the hell were you thinking?!"
"I'm just protecting you!"
"What you're doing is harassment!"
"That pipsqueak with the ahoge is just duping you to show your boobs!"
"Naegi is not like that!"
"I bet he is!"
Naegi sighed as he sees that Fuyuhiko is being overly too protective and assured to him that Natsumi is in good hands and will not impose himself on her. Fuyuhiko glared and said that if the Luckster goes too far like stealing a kiss or peek at her panties, he will send his bodyguards to amputate Naegi's penis, causing Naegi to stare in shock, and Natsumi to smack Fuyuhiko on the cheek, knocking him out.
Naegi then pacified her and assured to Natsumi that Fuyuhiko is only worried about her, but she said that she can't stand her brother harassing the Luckster like that, and he saw that Natsumi is about to rant on more, so he gently hugged her so that she would calm down.
"Easy, Natsumi-san…"
"…"
"It's okay…"
"…"
"Everything will be okay…"
"…"
"Shh…"
"…"
Natsumi was speechless as this was the first time that she got hugged in a romantic way, and she slowly went silent as she lets him hug her. Peko saw this and smiled, seeing that Naegi really cared for her, and carried a knocked-out Fuyuhiko on her shoulders as they left the scene, while Naegi continued to comfort Natsumi.

At the infirmary, you can see Fuyuhiko holding an ice bag and rubbed it on his cheek, as it is still swollen and there Soda and Pekoyama urged him to lighten up and be at least receptive towards Naegi, reasoning that the Luckster is the reason why Natsumi is behaving well now and that he won't do anything perverted towards her.
Fuyuhiko twitched his eyes as Pekoyama said that Naegi appeared to be the only boy that Natsumi is willing to listen and asked Pekoyama how can she be so easily trusting towards Naegi, as he believed that Naegi is using opportunistic means to make Natsumi lower her guard so that the Luckster can molest her.
"I can't believe that you are trusting that guy…"
"I'm stating the truth. Naegi is…"
"It's just an act…he's waiting for the right moment to peek under my sister's skirt!"
"I've been observing him…he is not perverted."
"…"
"He's a good boy."
"You can't be serious!"
"I am."
By then Hanamura passed by and urges him to relax, saying that Naegi wouldn't dare touching her given her rather violent streak, which somewhat pacified Fuyuhiko, but then noticed that the SHSL Cook is holding a donut and a banana, where Hanamura made perverted hints that Naegi and Natsumi would have sex somewhere within Hope's Peak Academy.
This causes the SHSL Gangster to panic and attempts to run off, but Soda held him and urged him to calm down. Fuyuhiko refuses as he cannot afford to let Naegi have his way with Natsumi.
"Whoa! Easy! "
"Let me go! Let me go!"
"Calm down!"
"I can't! That lecher's going to screw my sister!"
"I don't think it'll happen!"
"And how would you know?"
"If your sister was violated she would have made a ruckus or went to you for help! For the past few months your sister was behaving well."
"Grrr…"
Pekoyama smacked Hanamura on the head for causing this and urged Fuyuhiko to calm down, and said she will check on Natsumi to see how she is doing, and when he ordered her to beat up Naegi, she kindly refused, saying that this would cause Natsumi to get angry and assured to him that Naegi won't do anything to Natsumi.
The SHSL Gangster stared in disbelief at hearing this and slowly went into an emotional paranoia, and asked his classmates if Naegi bribed them to do nothing, and Soda sighed and tells him that Naegi did not do anything of the such and even told him that the Luckster is so harmless that he never once make a pass on her.
By then Akamatsu passed by after hearing the Gangster's outburst, and tells him that she saw Natsumi at the gymnasium, talking to Naegi about the summer festival at the said date which will take place in a few nights from now, laying out some plans.
Fuyuhiko asked Akamatsu what is Naegi doing to Natsumi, in which Akamatsu said that they are staring at each other, and Fuyuhiko believes that Naegi is using HYPNOSIS on Natsumi and he dashed out of the infirmary, with Soda and Pekoyama chasing him, and Akamatsu blinked her eyes as she never seen an elder brother becoming a nervous wreck over his younger sister.
Suichi Saihara passed by and asked what just happened, in which she said it's more of a sibling connection of sorts when it comes to boyfriends and stuff, which the SHSL Detective sighed as he wondered when will Fuyuhiko stop suspecting Naegi of being an indecent person.
"Fuyuhiko Kuzuryuu…he's such a worrywart."
"You think so, Saihara-kun?"
"You just saw it. He gets freaked out over his sister dating a boy."
"Yeah, he picks on Naegi-kun over shallow things."
"Well, it's not our problem."
"Really?"
"Yes, Akamatsu."
"…"

At the gymnasium, Fuyuhiko arrived where he saw Natsumi facing a whiteboard with Naegi looking on, and he demanded to know what they are doing, and there Natsumi was getting annoyed and tells him that she is teaching Naegi on what to do at the summer festival, as she is setting up a stall to sell hand towels to patrons as she is going to give Naegi a means to earn money.
Fuyuhiko appeared suspicious and wanted to make sure if that is the case, and he gave Naegi a stern warning not to overstep his bounds onto Natsumi, and the Luckster assured to her that he has no ill-intension towards her.
"Look here, pipsqueak…"
"I assure you…I have no intention of violating your sister…"
"Don't pretend!"
"…"
"I got my eye on you!"
"Um…"
"I won't let you take my sister to your bed…"
"Eh?"
By then, Chiaki Nanami came and told Fuyuhiko that a class meeting is about to take place as she proposed that Class 77 will go together as a group at the summer festival, and said that this will be beneficial to the class, and though the Gangster wants to decline, Nanami said his attendance is a must, as she have Nekomaru Nidai carry Fuyuhiko on his shoulder and the Gangster protested, but Nanami said it's time to go.
"Hey!"
"Sorry, Kuzuryuu-kun…we need to go."
"I can't!"
"Your attendance is required."
"I can't leave my sister!"
"Don't worry. She'll be fine."
"But…!"
"Let's go."
As the Class 77 members left, Natsumi sighed as she is relieved that she can have some privacy with Naegi, and the Luckster gently embraced her so as to help her calm down. Natsumi just sighed yet she accepted the gesture as the two teens locked in an embrace, and requests that he accompany her to the summer festival, which Naegi give his word.

Hope you liked this chapter, as this was mostly slice of life with a bit of comedy while Hope's peak Academy declared the summer vacation.
Two of Danganronpa V3 characters appeared and are playing some bit parts, but expect more of them to pop up in the upcoming chapters.
