Kyoya hurried through the hall, only one thing mattered, one thought had stuck with him since the night before and during the early morning flight. Finally he came to a stop at the nurses station, the nauseous feeling seemed to be worsening every second.

"Mr. Kyoya," The young nurse said softly. She stood and made her way over to him. "Your brother said you'd be coming, He's with him now, spent all night there. If you would follow me, I can take you to the room." Kyoya couldn't speak, instead he followed the woman silently, his heart sinking with each step he took. Though it had been only a short distance, it felt like an eternity to the shadow king. They stopped just outside the room, the nurse turned to him, lightly touching his arm.

"If you need anything at all, We're just over here. " The teen nodded, drawing in a breath. He entered the room slowly. His brother turned to face him. Kyoya however, focused his attention on the figure lying behind him on the bed. Tamaki was ghostly pale, the sight of the oxygen hose and additional monitors was nearly too much for the dark haired teen.

"Kyoya, why don't you sit down, we'll talk about-"

"What happened, he wasn't-"Yuuichi rested a hand on his brother's shoulder, meeting his gaze.

"Kyoya, sometimes, things happen and even doctors don't get the answers, little brother. A few hours after Shima left, I came in to check on him and he said he was feeling really sick, he had some pain and it was hard for him to stay awake while we were talking. After about five minutes, he lost consciousness and his heart-"

"He's going to be fine, I mean y-you can-"

"Kyoya, listen to me, please. As much as I want to promise you that I can give him some kind of magic medication that would make this whole thing go away, I can't. As a doctor and you know this, medicine can only get you so far sometimes. You did everything you possibly could. I told you, it had a pretty good head start."

"Did you call his-"

"Yes, apparently his father's away on business. We've been calling his cell phone but I haven't gotten a call back."

"Bastard." Kyoya spat. Yuuichi pulled him close.

"I know this is difficult for you." He said. "I can't imagine-"Kyoya pulled away.

"Is Tamaki going to-"

"Brother-"

"Yuuichi," Kyoya said, his voice cracking as tears threatened to fall. "Is Tamaki dying?"

"It doesn't look good. He's still fighting but you can only go for so long with so much against you. At this point I don't have a clear answer for you. As you've seen, things can change in a split second. hope for the best, but don't expect things to turn out in his favor." Yuuichi removed his hand and moved toward the door.

"I'll leave you to it. I'm sure you're tired from your flight back, I've put some extra blankets and a couple pillows over on the recliner for you. Our Father's working late tonight, I'll keep him out unless there's an emergency. "

"Thank you...and Thank you for staying with him last night. I know you weren't supposed to be here that late and with your hours-"

"It wasn't a problem, it was only until you got here. If you need anything, you know I've never been the greatest at comforting others, but please call me at any time. It doesn't matter if it's noon or three in the morning, I'm here." The elder brother closed the door quietly behind him.

Kyoya moved closer to the bed, gazing upon the motionless figure on the bed.

"T-Tamaki." He whispered. "I am so sorry I wasn't here with you." Kyoya softly kissed the ill teen's forehead. "I can't imagine what you've been feeling all this time. what you must be going through. You've been so brave, my love. You've been so strong for us and I really need you to continue. You and I have so much more to do together, a life to build, I meant it when I asked you to marry me. You showed me so much, how to truly love and care for someone beyond anything I could have ever hoped to understand. Please, don't show me what it feels like to lose you. I could never-" Kyoya kicked his shoes off, lying down next to Tamaki, resting his head on the teen's chest. "You're the only one I've ever loved and I-I need you, we all do. Give me a chance to show you just how precious you are to me. Live for me, Tamaki and I promise you that I will never let a day go by that I don't show you how much I love you. Only you could make me this emotional. I have never been this way. You're one of those rare people, the ones who completely turn your life around and leave a lasting impression on everyone around you. The world needs people like you." Kyoya wiped away a tear as it began to fall.

"You're the sun that came into my life and chased away the darkness. I can't live without you, please,Tamaki, I am begging you, for our family...Mostly for me, be strong enough to be here with us. If you can't find the strength you need, take it from us. " He pleaded. "I have every intention of keeping every single word I'm saying to you, whether or not you can hear me, but if you die...I'm going to have to kill you."
