Yoshio drew in a breath, not bothering to turn to Kyoya.

"I know you do." he replied, much to Kyoya's surprise. "I'm not completely oblivious to what happens with my children. I may not acknowledge certain things to you and your siblings, but it doesn't mean I'm not aware of them. Don't misunderstand, I don't condone this..but I won't stand in your way."

"Father, I-"Kyoya began, shocked by the reply.

"There were many things your mother and I disagreed on. While I am more traditional, your mother had her own ideas. One of which was that if our children ever came to us and happened to tell us of their other...interests, as long as they were keeping up with grades, continued to be involved in some way, she always said we should try to be understanding. It's because of a promise I made to her many years before we had children that I say this to you. Though your mother is gone, I'm a man of my word. I may not like it, but you're almost an adult mow, that choice is yours. I've known for a while, since you started staying here with him for days at a time, the way you ran back here, how much it bothers you that his father hasn't been here, what else could it be?"

A long moment of silence passed between them before Yoshio stood from his seat.

"Your brother left you something to eat in his on call room. He'll be checking in with you before he leaves for the night. I expect you to try to eat something, it won't do you any good to refuse." He turned to leave, pausing, giving Kyoya a gentle pat on the shoulder and exited the room.

"What the hell was that?" The shadow king wondered out loud. He leaned back in his chair, glancing down at his phone. "It's now officially Monday, Tamaki. Everyone will be here in a few hours, they'll expect you to be awake, asking how everything went. What will you do?" Kyoya shook his head.

"Did you hear what my father said, maybe there is a heart in there somewhere. Since you've ill, things have changed a lot and I am most definitely blaming you for that. It's time you accepted responsibility and set things straight, don't you agree?"

"If you only knew, Tamaki..If you knew how much I miss you. The sound of your voice, arguing over the budget, Your kindness- While you sleep, the world around me keeps spinning, but my world is crumbling slowly. I'd give anything to be able to take this from you. The world needs people like you, the light that shines in the darkness. I've told you that before, but I believe it to be true. " The shadow king yawned, tilting his head back, listening to the steady mechanical beeps from the monitors surrounding the ill teen. He allowed his eyes to close.

Kyoya woke with a start to the sound of his cell phone ringing, he took a moment to stretch before looking down at the device. He pressed the button, holding the device to his ear.

"Hello?" He answered, rising to his feet sleepily and making his way to Tamaki's bed.

"Hey,"Haruhi replied. "You said to call you when we're getting in the car. We just landed a few minutes ago and we're getting in now, Do you want me to put you on speaker?"

"Yes, it's important that you all hear what I'm about to say." Kyoya paused as the girl did as requested.

"Okay, everyone's here, the speaker's on."She announced.

"Good, can everyone hear me?"

"We hear you, Kyo-chan." Honey said, raising his voice slightly.

"How's Senpai?"Kyoya was still unsure of how to tell the hosts the news. "Kyoya-senpai, is something-"

"I've asked the driver to bring you straight to the hospital. I'll make arrangements to meet with you all in my brother's office. It's best if we talk in person. I'll have Yuuichi on stand by in case there are any questions but for the most-"

"That doesn't sound good."Hikaru interrupted. "can't you just say it?"

"I'll explain when you get here, for now there's no reason to-"

"H-he's not-"

"Hikaru."Kaoru hissed, silencing his brother.

"You can't just say something like that and expect us to not think the worst, I've seen enough of those shows. You get bad news in person-"

"Shut up." Kaoru demanded quietly. "Don't say things like that."

"That's enough. I'll see you when you get here. Go right up to the office and I'll meet you there, until then, just calm down." Kyoya ended the call, unable to hear anymore. He turned to Tamaki.

"You're really going to make me do this, aren't you. You've given me a nearly impossible job. No one holds our family together like you do. They're already starting. You brought us all together, you should be here to keep us that way. They'll be here shortly and I'll talk to them, tell them what to expect. I'm sorry, Tamaki, I need to go talk to my brother and get some coffee before they arrive. That's the only way I'll be able to handle this conversation. I'll be back soon and they'll probably be with me." He kissed the ill teen's head lovingly.

"I love you." He said softly. "Reconsider joining us, won't you, and above all else, be here when we get back." He made his way to the door, turning to take one last look and continued into the hall to find his brother.
