This is my first ever big project, so hopefully this'll work.
I wouldn't be here today without these following stories:
"Welcome to the (Insane) World of Pokemon" by CaptainMoonshine
"Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality" by LessWrong
This story won't be for kids, so kids who read it are super cool.

Chapter 1:
Introduction
I've never been much of a believer in the unknown. Call it educated suspicion, but if I couldn't see it, I wouldn't believe it. Obviously, air had to exist, and I've read articles about the makeups of our universe and thought it was plausible. But I still couldn't wrap my head around some things without experiencing them.
You can imagine my shock and disbelief when I woke up in the middle of nowhere.
I stood up and scanned my surroundings. I felt like I had a brain tumor or something. My vision was hazy, but I could make out that I was in some kind of forest. There weren't any forests anywhere near my home in the city, and it seemed unlikely that I was abducted in my sleep, so what the hell happened? Ignoring this, I reassessed my situation. My pockets revealed a wallet with an ID card foreign to me. This brought my attention to my own appearance, which vaguely looked like my normal self.
I had the sinking feeling I knew what happened, though. I had watched enough anime to know I had been transported to another world. A loud rumbling noise passed overhead. Turning my eyes to the sky, I could see a commercial airplane in the air. That ruled out being transported to a medieval time period, so at least I had that. I decided to follow the direction the plane was heading because it was close-ish to the ground and probably landing soon.
I had to run, but I broke through the brush and thicket to an asphalt road that seemed to be in the countryside. The entire place was foreign to me. The signs weren't in English and were facing the wrong direction. I'm not a linguistic expert, but if I had to guess, I'm in Japan right now. I decided to follow the road for now in hopes of finding a town nearby. This gave me time to think. I'm probably not in a fantasy genre, so it's safe to assume I'm in a realistic world to Earth. I have an ID that could get me around with the locals, hopefully enough to establish myself a steady source of income and food.
I soon came to a cluster of roadside buildings. It seemed like there was a bit of an encampment set up here. I wandered around the area until I heard voices from the other side of the corner.
I can never be too cautious, so I peered around to see an assortment of people carrying huge guns, all wearing the same comically bad-guy gear. They were unloading supplies from the plane I had seen earlier. This was the exact moment I knew the kind of world I was in.

The dangerous kind.
…I heard the cocking of a pistol from behind me and cold metal pressed against my neck. I slowly put my hands behind my head and started thinking of how the hell to get out of this one.
"International Police, you're under arrest for the illegal interruption of a - what the hell?" a feminine voice sounded behind me. Nevermind, looks like she noticed I'm too young.
I turned around slowly to see the face of my childhood. Every muscle in my body locked up. I can't tell if I'm in a dream or a nightmare.
Monika's cold and calculating green eyes scanned mine. I put on my best innocent smile and faced her. "I'm innocent, Officer?"

Riding in the back of an undercover police car, blindfolded, was not nearly as enjoyable as I thought it would be. The seats were stiff, but that wasn't the main issue pressing on my back. Monika clearly didn't recognize me the way I knew her, and I was abducted. Not my proudest moments.
The car slowed to a stop at what felt like less than a mile away. Monika part shoved-part pulled me out of the backseat and forcefully escorted me inside a building. When we entered the doors, there was an elevator downwards. And down we went for a solid two minutes. This was when Monika finally removed my blindfold.
She moved swiftly with me trotting in cuffs in front of her. Eventually, we entered an office with a man sitting at a desk.
"Sir, I found him lurking around the Libitina Outpost. He has a student ID from a school within Kyoto, requesting permission to interrogate him, sir?"
At that point, my borrowed time came to an end, and I promptly collapsed.
