The view showed the distant horizon behind the city. The sun was starting to appear from behind the mountains. Illuminating the white clouds over the bay, and the flocks of seagulls flying out over the skyscrapers of the city...

The view changed to the Common Room kitchen.

"Oh, what a beautiful mornin', oh what a beautiful day!" Cyborg was singing to himself as he grilled bacon, pancakes, and other foods on the stove. He was totally ignorant of his surroundings with his eyes closed, and with his spatula up to his mouth like a mike. The view showed the Common Room doors slide open behind him. And a certain blue cloaked person entered.

"I got a beautiful feelin' everything's goin' my-"

"Cyborg?" Raven asked in a puzzled tone.

"Augh!" The view showed a smaller anime Cyborg jump straight out of Cyborg's head in fright. Then it went back into himself and pulled the anime zipper over itself. Cyborg's head was back to normal.

Cyborg turned around, a look of anger on his face. "Yo, what have I told you about sneaking up on me like that Rae!?" He asked angrily.

Raven shrugged, floating past him. "I was just curious why you were singing offkey while burning your breakfast." She said dryly, getting her herbal tea kettle ready.

Beep! Beep! Beep! Beep!

Cyborg opened his mouth to defend himself. But then the smoke alarm went off behind him. He quickly turned around, and the view showed his bacon on fire in the pan.

"No! Not my applewood smoked bacon!" Cyborg yelled hysterically as he started to put it out. Only, he never took the grease out, so the water he threw in made the little grease fire burn hotter. "Aughhhhh!"

Raven rolled her eyes to herself.

The view showed the doors open again, and Starfire came floating in alongside Robin. "Oh isn't it just the most beautiful of mornings Robin!" She said cheerfully.

He looked to the kitchen then, seeing the smoke filling the air instead of the sun shining in the large Common Room windows. Cyborg was now using a fire extuingisher to put out the fire on the stove. "Yeah. It is." Robin said.

Starfire looked to the kitchen, just as Cyborg held up his pan of black charcoal and white foam disappointedly. "Oh friend Cyborg, it looks the delicious!" Starfire said happily.

Cyborg looked down at it in disbelief, and then back up to Starfire. Robin was behind her, using his hands to say 'you better not give that to her.' Cyborg smirked as he held it out to her.

"Sweet, you can have all of it Star." Cyborg said.

Robin went pale behind Starfire, and she happily came forward and took the pan. She used her long tongue to lick up one of the foam covered pieces "Delicious! Thanks friend!" She said. She was already opening the fridge and grabbing her mustard before heading to the table. "I can already tell how today will be the most fabulous of mornings!" She said as she started to pour ketchup over the rest of the foamy bacon.

Robin glared at Cyborg as Cyborg got another pan of bacon ready. He was whistling innocently to himself. "You do realize that I kiss her from time to time? Right?" Robin asked in a fierce whisper.

"Yes, I think we've all realized that by now Robin. With all the emotions you two let off towards each other." Raven said behind him dryly.

Robin went red in the face, and Cyborg smirked. "Yeah man, maybe what she eats will help to discourage you from taking half an hour to say good night to her near my room each night." He said, before laughing at Robin's even deeper red complexion.

Twee!

Raven's tea kettle whistled behind them. Raven turned to grab it.

Thmmm...

The view showed the doors slide open again.

It was like all activity stopped at the sight that walked in. The view showed the Titans stare in surprise. Then it switched to the two other Titans who walked in.

"Ugh..." Beast Boy groaned tiredly. He was being helped by a slightly better, yet equally as tired looking Adam. They both walked towards the couch. Neither of them spoke to the other Titans.

"The sun should never be up this early in the morning." Adam said lethargically as they both sat down on the couch.

"Great. We have another late morning person to deal with now." Raven muttered sarcastically.

Cyborg ignored her jibe. "Okay, I understand what's up with Adam, but what the heck happened to you B? You look like death ran you over." Cyborg asked confusedly.

Beast Boy shook his head. "I couldn't sleep well last night dudes." He said tiredly.

Raven raised an eyebrow. "I thought you were the most eager of us to go to bed last night?" She asked monotonously.

Beast Boy shook his head. Adam was already passed out next to him on the couch. "Let's just say it was a bad night." He said, almost deadpan.

The other Titans looked at each other, but decided to leave it alone. The activity in the room resumed.

"If you asked me, I would have said it was a great night of learning." A voice spoke.

Beast Boy looked around at that, seeing if the others had heard it or not. "Do remember now that I'm in your mind. Only you can hear me Garfield." The voice said.

Beast Boy put his head in his hands. "I think it's going to be a longgggg day." He said to himself.

"Remember, we start training in an hour." Robin said from the kitchen.

"Ugh..." Beast Boy groaned, leaning back into the couch.

The view flipped over, changing the scene.

Raven was walking down a hallway. Her face was deep into a green covered book. The title Inheritance was on it.

Around the corner, Beast Boy was standing with a piece of blue string in his hands. He snickered tiredly to himself.

"Oh dude this is like the best prank idea ever. Once I pull this string, this baby will release the mother of all stink bombs." He whispered to himself, as he looked around the corner. He saw Raven coming down the hallway.

"Hehehe, here goes nothing." He whispered. He readied to pull the string.

"You know that's a rather horrible idea." The voice said.

Beast Boy stiffened. "Oh no." He groaned.

"I mean we both know she's your friend. So why would you ever do something like that to her? Don't you want her and the others to be your friends?"

Beast Boy looked back at his contraption, the string fell from his hand. "I, I guess." He said.

"If you treat her like this, it's no wonder why she and the others barely tolerate you. Much less, like you." The voice said.

Beast Boy sighed tiredly, and he turned around and walked away. "What was I thinking?" He said sadly.

The view showed from the bottom his backside walking down the hall. The blue colored string laid motionless on the ground...

A pale hand appeared in the view, picking up the string. The view shifted, showing Raven looking down at the string connected to the contraption. Then she looked back up the hall, where Beast Boy had disappeared. "Why did he just leave all of this here?" She said dryly while looking at the rather simple, yet complex looking contraption.

"Especially when he put so much work into this prank..." She finished.

The view flipped over. This time it showed Beast Boy, Adam and Cyborg from the front on the couch. A better, healthier looking Adam was sitting on Cyborg's right. A controller was in each of their hands, and the two were looking intently at whatever was in front of them. A worse for wear Beast Boy was on Cyborg's other side without a controller.

The view shifted to behind them, showing the three of them facing the window/TV screen. Two robots, a blue one, and a red one were decking it out with each other. "Yo, I know you're new to this game and all man, but that doesn't mean I'll be going easy on you!" Cyborg yelled. His robot on the screen started to do a combo against Adam's.

Adam stuck his tongue out the side of his mouth in concentration. His robot was steadily blocking strike after strike to it. Getting hit every couple times. "You mean like how that pudding didn't take it easy on my gut?" He asked.

Cyborg laughed at that, which made him lose focus for just a few seconds. It was enough that it got him to stop his combo fury attack. Adam instantly moved in on the screen, his red robot beating up Cyborg's blue robot faster than what Cyborg had been doing. Cyborg stopped laughing as he saw Adam's robot uppercut his, bringing it down to the ground with an empty health bar. Cyborg went slack jawed. His jaw landed on the floor beneath him.

Adam sat back with a smirk on his face as the word 'Victory' appeared on the screen. "Thanks for taking it easy. I don't know why, but the game felt familiar." Adam said.

Cyborg's jaw snapped back into place. "Yo, you cheated!" Cyborg said angrily.

"No, I distracted you with something funny. There's a difference." Adam said back, looking calm, but downright gloating that he'd managed to beat the cybernetic teen on his first try.

"Alright that does it man. I won't be going easy on you this time. Rematch!" Cyborg said angrily.

Beast Boy opened his mouth to speak over their arguing.

"Why do you even play video games? Don't you realize how much your friends think less of you when you gloat and childishly whine at them for winning or losing?" The voice said again in his mind.

Beast Boy looked up at the screen again. The two robots were already duking it out again. True to his word, Cyborg wasn't holding back anymore. The view showed the two trash talking each other to the side, but their words weren't registering. Beast Boy sighed to himself, and got up off the couch.

"There, now get out of the room. Your time would be better spent training anyways. Maybe then your teammates might actually find you worthwhile." The voice said.

Beast Boy started to sadly walk out of the Common Room.

"Hey Beast Boy, you can take my spot after this match." Adam offered from the couch. His robot was losing badly to Cyborg's at the moment.

The view showed Beast Boy turn back and try to smile. It didn't quite seem like his normal one though. "It's okay dude, you two can play. I'm just going to train on the treadmill or something." Beast Boy said, before walking away.

Cyborg turned to look at his friend. "Are you sure B? I'm about finished kicking his-" He was saying.

"Victory! New champion!" The screen blared out.

Cyborg turned just in time to see he had been distracted for too long again. Adam's red robot stood triumphantly over Cyborg's on the screen. "That does it! No more distractions!" Cyborg yelled.

"Dang, and I was just getting the hang of this." Adam said.

The view shifted, showing Beast Boy as he exited the room. He hesitated in the doorway for a second. Then he sighed sadly before he left.

The view showed Raven watching from the kitchen counter. A cup of her herbal tea was in her hands. She raised an eyebrow at what she had just observed.

The view flipped over again. Starfire and Robin were walking down the hallway hand in hand. Robin for once seemed to not be paying attention to his surroundings as he talked to Starfire in what sounded like mumbles from the distance.

The view moved back, showing Beast Boy around a corner. He had a bag of marbles in one hand, and a camera in the other. He was grinning for what looked like the first time in a while, despite looking really tired.

"Oh boy, if I manage to make this work, I'll have better blackmail here on bird boy than on Cyborg." He whispered excitedly. He got himself in position to let the marbles roll out over the hallway floor.

"And I thought that you were a hero?" The voice said in his mind again.

Beast Boy stiffened again. "Can't you just leave me alone for one moment." He whispered. "It's not often I get the chance to pull something like this on my leader-" He was saying.

"Why? You're about to trip up two of your good friends for laughs. I'm pretty sure that isn't what a real hero would do Garfield." The voice said chastisingly.

The view showed Beast Boy look down at his hands. A look of realization and regret came onto his face. "Dude, I really am a horrible friend." He whispered to himself.

"You know they don't think of you as a friend now. Just think of what your leader would do if you goofed up. He'd probably kick you to the curb, just like your old team did when you left them." The voice said.

Beast Boy set the bag and camera on the ground. One of his hands formed a fist, and then he quietly walked back down the hallway out of sight. "They wouldn't... would they?" Beast Boy said.

He disappeared from the view into the darkness.

After a moment, the view showed Starfire and Robin walk right on by the hallway. "I swear, Adam could be doing a lot better if he put more effort into his training." Robin said.

"Don't push him boyfriend Robin. He's finally been feeling the well enough the last couple days to train. He'll need the time to figure out how his powers do the working." Starfire said calmly to him.

"I guess it doesn't help that he still doesn't understand how his powers work." Robin was faintly heard. The two of them walked away out of earshot again. The view still stayed on the hallway.

From the shadows, a pair of pale hands picked up the items on the floor. The view moved up, showing a stoic looking Raven looking down the hallway as her friends disappeared. She looked down at the items in her hands again, then behind her where Beast Boy had went.

"Something's definitely not right here." Raven noted to herself, before she disappeared into the ground. The view faded back into darkness.

This time the view finally changed to show a portion of the city. The sun was setting down in the distance. And rush hour was finally starting to get over. The view hovered over the scene for a few seconds.

The view zoomed in on a street full of cars.

"Rourgh!" The giant Cinderblock groaned as he sent the car in his hands flying towards Robin. He quickly used his grappling book to pull himself up and out of the way. The car crashed into another car behind where he had been.

From the air, Robin quickly threw a yellow disk down at Cinderblock. It exploded on contact, surrounding him in a cloud of smoke. The view showed Cinderblock looking around, trying to see in the thick smoke.

Whack!

A pole covered in darkness slammed Cinderblock in the face. He stumbled backwards, and then he moved forward to backhand the pale Titan wielding the lightpole with her powers.

Ksch! Ksch!

A starbolt and blue beam of sound hit Cinderblock in the back. Cinderblock stumbled forward from the hit, landing down on one knee.

"Now!" Robin ordered.

A green elephant appeared in view next to a wrecked car. It charged forward tiredly, yet determinedly through the smoke to take down Cinderblock.

"What is a weak pathetic thing like you going to do against a chunk of rock like that? You can hardly even stand." The voice sounded to the elephant. The elephant kept on trying to charge forward, but it had definitely lost momentum from the comment.

"You're just useless you know. You've been useless this whole fight. You've been useless the days before today. Heck, your teammates have probably seen you as useless since the day the team was formed." The voice said.

The elephant stopped just a couple feet in front of Cinderblock. It's wide elephant eyes looked to be in a trance. Cinderblock got back up, and looked down at the green elephant in front of it. A rocky smile appeared on his face as he picked up another car next to him.

"Beast Boy!" Robin said loudly nearby.

"What's the greenbean thinking?!" Cyborg yelled.

"See how little they think of you. You should just leave. No one cares about you. Heck, they care about the new arrival more than you. They'd probably be more than glad to be rid of you." The voice finished. Beast Boy turned back to normal, looking stunned.

"Roargh!" Cinderblock yelled, bringing the car down through the thinning smoke towards the stupored green animorph down below.

"Friend Beast Boy!" Starfire yelled as she moved to intercept.

Wham!

Another car covered in black appeared in the view, hitting Cinderblock hard back onto the road. The stunned Cinderblock landed directly on his back, stunned for the moment. The view showed Raven appear above him. Her eyes glowed white with energy.

"Azarath, Metrion, Zinthos!" She chanted, grabbing the steel beams from the back of a semi further back while Cinderblock was down. Before Cinderblock could react, he was wrapped around by seven separate steel beams. Trapping him in the embrace of cold hard steel. He struggled to escape, to no avail.

Cinderblock was trapped.

Cyborg walked up next to the villain, a grin on his face. "Man Rae, why can't we start with that at the beginning of a fight?" He asked.

Raven slowly and gently glided back down onto the ground. "Because I just noticed those steel beams were there." She said dryly. She moved to approach Beast Boy.

Beast Boy finally blinked. He looked around himself, seeming surprised that the fight was already over. "What the heck happened?" He asked confusedly.

Before he could move, Robin instantly charged up to him. He cut Raven off, and he looked pretty angry.

"What the heck were you thinking!? Why did you stop in front of Cinderblock!? Do you realize you could've gotten yourself hurt again!? Or even worse, killed!?" Robin instantly started to grill. He didn't look or sound the littlest bit happy.

Beast Boy stepped back in surprise. "Dude, I'm sorry, I'm just-" Beast Boy tried to explain.

"Just what!? You just stopped in front of a dangerous villain!? You just got distracted by some stupid little thing!? You just almost got hurt again and jeopardized our strategy in taking down a villain again!?" Robin continued to grill Beast Boy. Starfire, Cyborg, and Raven were shown behind him, looking shocked as Robin's head seemed to grow with his anger.

"I told you so." The voice said to Beast Boy in a sing song boice. Beast Boy's hand turned into a fist. The tech band stood out on his right wrist. A crackline ran along the middle of it.

"You're lucky Raven interfered this time! Otherwise this whole thing would have been one big-" Robin was yelling.

Beast Boy's head grew bigger than Robin's. "SHUT UP! JUST SHUT UP!" His voice roared on the empty street.

Robin's head shrunk back down to normal size, a look of surprise was on his face. Beast Boy shrunk back down to normal too, looking angry. His arms were taut in front of him. "I don't want to deal with this. If you need me, I'll be alone." He said harshly, before morphing into a cheetah and running away into the streets. He disappeared from view.

The view moved back to Robin, who after a moment, made a fist with his right hand. "Come on Titans, let's head back to the Tower." Robin said, turning to head back up the street.

"I'm going after him." Raven spoke up.

Robin turned around. "Why? He told us he wants to be left alone." He said angrily. The other Titans looked to her.

Raven looked them in the eye. "The Beast Boy you and I know would have blown you off there with some dumb joke. But he didn't." She said to him, then looked to the others.

"He hasn't played video games lately, he's been training a lot more, and to top it all off, he's actually not playing pranks on any of us." She said.

Robin rolled his eyes behind his mask. "Are you telling us that Beast Boy is finally maturing or something? And you're worried about it?" He asked.

Raven looked calmly at them all. "You haven't been paying attention to him Robin. You're too busy focusing on the new hero... and your girlfriend." She added lowly.

Before Robin could angrily retort, the view showed Cyborg. "You know, Rae has a good point Rob. B has been acting a little different lately." He said.

Raven nodded, then pointed to the bracelet on her wrist. "And I have a good feeling as to why." She finished monotonously.

The view blurred...

The view came back into focus, showing the inside of an abandoned mall. A rat appeared on a raptor up above. Chewing on a bone from another rat. The place looked like it hadn't seen crowds of people for years.

"Urgh! Stupid villains! Stupid friends!"

A frustrated looking Beast Boy appeared down below. He looked even angrier than he had earlier as he wandered through the abandoned mall. He grabbed a dust covered countertop off the floor, and threw it at a wall.

Crash! Ktchch!

The countertop went through a glass window, spraying glass all over the ground.

"Wow, I can't believe you had the gall to run away from your teammates like that. You really made yourself look like even more of a fool than before." The voice said to him in a mocking tone.

Beast Boy growled, and his hands changed into claws. He looked almost feral. He wandered into an old sports store.

"Oh, is the poor teddy bear getting it's feelings hurt? Do you want your cymbal monkey from your closet to make you feel better?" The voice continued in the same mocking tone.

"Argh! Where are you!?" Beast Boy yelled in anger. He slashed his claws against a line of old footballs.

Pop! Pop! Pop!

They all popped loudly. Beast Boy continued to look around.

"I'm sick of hearing your voice in my mind! Come out and show yourself you coward!" Beast Boy yelled.

"Really... you think of me, as a coward?" A different sounding, familiar voice said.

Beast Boy turned to his right. The anger drained from his face, and was replaced by fear.

"No..." Beast Boy said.

The view showed a hooded figure in the shadows. He walked forward, pulling his hood back. The face of Bro. Blood was revealed.

"Hello, my new student." He said smoothly.

The view showed Beast Boy's fear stricken face. Then it went dark...
