Alright. College started back up for me on Monday. So I'm planning on updating this every two weeks so as to not overload me on my schedule. Without further ado, hope you enjoy the start of the latest chapter!
Episode Summary: Red X has returned. And his targets are more valuable than ever. With the Titans pushed to the limit trying to defeat him and our new Titan going through some trauma of his own, will he pull himself together to help the Titans take down their greatest agitation, or will his fractured memories doom him to despair?
The scene showed the outside of the Tower. With the island and the bay around it. The sun looked to be in the mid-lower portion of the sky heading towards the horizon. Birds chirped a nice peaceful song on the rooftop, indicating a relaxing day...
The scene moved to inside the Common Room.
"Ahhh..."
Adam let out a sigh of contentment on the couch. No one else was in the Common Room. No one had bothered him all day actually. So he'd finally had a chance to catch up on his reading. He closed the finished book he was holding in his hands and yawned.
"You know it's a great book when your whole day passes right on by," Adam muttered as he set the thick book on his chest, and leaned back into the nice, comfy couch.
His eyelids drearily stayed open for a few seconds more, before they slowly closed. Adam's body relaxed into the couch. The pure, heavenly feeling couch.
A few seconds of peace were allowed to pass.
BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!
Adam jumped straight up from the couch, sending his book flying through the air. The klaxons on the walls blared red, and the main terminal a few feet in front of him beeped with them.
"Are you fetching kidding me!? Right when I was about to take a fetching nap!" Adam yelled angrily. "Fetching fetcher!"
He ran over to the console and started to mess with it.
Thmmm.
The doors slid open, and Cyborg ran in. Beast Boy and Raven appeared from the side hallways at the same time as Cyborg.
"Yo, just who's causing trouble now?! I was in the middle of waxing my beautiful baby!" Cyborg yelled.
An animated bubble next to him showed a small chibi Cyborg waxing his clean-looking T-Car. Then the chibi Cyborg smiled and hugged the shining car.
The view moved over to Beast Boy. "And I was busy rearranging my comic book collection!" Beast Boy yelled angrily.
An animated bubble next to him showed a little chibi Beast Boy next to a pile of comic books. He looked at the comic book in his hand, shrugged, and threw it on the pile. He walked away from the pile with his hands in his pockets, whistling.
The view moved to Raven. "Right." She said dryly.
An animated bubble next to her showed a little chibi Raven next to the mountain of comic books. A portal formed underneath it all, making them disappear.
The view showed Raven's plain face again. "Organizing." She finished dryly. Knowing she had been helping Beast Boy with his room at his request.
The view moved back to Adam. The others showed up behind him in the view. "Whoever it is. They're going to pay for ruining my nap." Adam grumbled.
Thmmm.
Robin and Starfire finally came running through the sliding doors. Their rooftop date having been interrupted by the alarm. The view showed the screen up above just as Adam finally got it to show part of downtown. A familiar looking symbol was blinking next to the museum.
Robin's face hardened. "Red X." He said.
The scene faded out.

The scene showed part of downtown Jump City from a side aerial view. The sky was gradually darkening up above with the coming of night…
'Return of Red X', appeared along the bottom of the view in big white bold letters for a few seconds, before slowly fading away.
The scene changed.
Boom!... Beep! Beep! Beeeeeee!…
The front doors of the museum blew off their hinges onto the ground. The alarms continued to blare inside as a figure walked out of the smoky entrance. He hefted a large looking red ruby in his hand.
"Heh. It's almost like taking candy from a baby." Red X muttered through his helmet's voicebox. He lifted the ruby to his eyes, examining the jewel. "Oh yes, this is definitely candy to my eyes."
He pocketed the gem in his suit. He then hit a button on his wrist, and then looked to the side.
Vroom!
A black, beast of a motorbike blazed around the corner of the museum. It had two criss cross red lines making an X on the front, with a narcissistic rendering of Red X's mask above the X.
Kcchhh!
The X-Cycle screeched to a halt in front of Red X. He got onto it and examined it.
"Wow, and there's no ticket for me parking this in a no parking zone." He chuckled to himself. "The police here must be losing their touch."
"I guess we'll have to fix that." A voice boomed. Red X looked up ahead of him.
The view showed Robin appear on his R-cycle. Cyborg and Adam then appeared in the T-Car behind him. Starfire and Raven floated down in the air above the T-Car, and a green eagle perched on a light pole next to them.
The view showed Robin's helmeted face. "Though in your case, I'd be more worried about getting a prison sentence than a ticket," Robin said lowly.
Red X chuckled. "Sounds fun, but I have a busy schedule. You know, places to go, things to steal." Red X gripped the handlebars of the X-Cycle. "So I'll decline the offer and say, see ya later." He finished.
Krrrrr!
Red X sped around on his X-Cycle down the street.
"Titans, after him!" Robin yelled.
Krrrrr!
The R-Cycle and T-Car's tires screeched as both sped off. The eagle immediately took off, with Raven and Starfire behind it.
The scene showed an empty side street with a downward slope.
Vrrrr!
The view showed Red X up close as he appeared out of an intersection at the top of the hill and veered down the road. Grabbing air before hitting the ground speeding down the empty street. The Titans vehicles had the same reaction coming around in the view behind him.
Ksch! Ksch! Ksch!
Green starbolts exploded on the street all around Red X. He didn't move and merely glanced back. "Is that really the best that hottie can aim?" He asked himself.
"Kee!" Vrrrrr!
The green eagle screeched and started to dive for Red X. At the same time, Cyborg floored it in his T-Car. He passed Robin's R-Cycle and sped towards Red X. Cyborg rolled down his window, and put his left sonic cannon out.
Red X looked back at them. "I wonder if they know they can get in trouble for hurting protected species?" He asked, before facing forward again. He pressed a button on his dashboard.
Sssss…
Just as the eagle was about to grab him, the X-Cycle released a large cloud of dark black smoke behind it from its exhaust pipes. The green eagle was obscured in the black smoke. It's outstretched talons knabbed for Red X.
The view showed the eagle come out of the front of the smoke cloud. It flapped its wings a couple of feet above the ground. It looked around itself confusedly as it coughed out the smoke from its lungs.
The view showed Cyborg and Adam on the inside of the T-Car. Cyborg still had his sonic cannon out and aimed.
The T-Car sped out of the cloud of smoke.
Bam! "Ahhhhh!"
The green eagle smashed comically spread eagle (pun intended) into the windshield. Cyborg and Adam both screamed like girls in fear as the car veered sharply to the right.
Crash!
The T-Car smashed into a light pole and came to a halt. Cyborg brought his arm back in.
"What the fetch!?" Adam yelled.
"My baby!" Cyborg cried.
"Ohhh..."
The eagle morphed back into Beast Boy, who groaned on the windshield.
"Puhhh..."
The hood of the car released its own black smoke from under the hood.
Red X sped out of the cloud of smoke his cycle had made. "Better luck next time." He taunted as he sped by.
Robin's R-Cycle came out of the smoke next, along with Raven and Starfire. Adam looked to Cyborg.
"You're dealing with that." He said pointing to Beast Boy, before pressing a button.
Pbbth!
The roof opened above Adam, and he and his seat were ejected high above the T-Car. Adam jumped off the seat getting a little extra height and proceeded to glide through the air behind Starfire to continue the pursuit. The seat landed on the ground next to the T-Car.
"Did he just really use my eject button?" Cyborg asked angrily.
"Dude! What the heck!? You almost killed me!" Beast Boy yelled angrily on the hood of the car.
"Hey man, it's not my fault you tried to become a hood ornament!" Cyborg yelled back in anger.
"Well, it's your fault for not paying attention Rust Bucket!" Beast Boy yelled back.
"I too was paying attention grass muncher!" Cyborg replied.
The scene shifted to show Red X from the side speeding down the street again. He moved his bike to the left.
Boom!
A metal trash can covered in black hit the area beside him.
He swerved his bike to the right.
Boom!
A large postal mailbox hit the road on the other side of him.
Red X looked back again. Raven had several more objects covered in black above her. She thrust her arm forward, and an old yellow Aztec flew through the air.
Boom!
Red X swerved to the side, dodging the projectile and wove his way down another side street. Raven and the others appeared, and she prepared to throw her next object. A large dumpster. "The goth girl has better aim than her hottie friend."
Red X looked down at his bike. "I think it's time I take this thing for a little offroading." He said. The end of the street was shown in front of him. A tall building reached up into the sky at the end.
Red X drove right for it. "I just need a boost." He muttered.
Raven threw her large dumpster towards Red X.
BOOM!
The dumpster landed diagonally in front of Red X. Making what could have been an obstruction in front of him.
"Those Titan girls really know when to provide what I need." He said as he picked up speed.
His bike sped up the diagonal curve of the dumpster. Treating it as a ramp. His bike flew through the air in slow motion.
Raven and the others stopped in surprise slow motion.
Red X hit a button between his handlebars. Spikes came out of his wheels as he came within feet of the building.
Thunk!
Red X's bike stuck to the building. The slow-motion stopped. He started to drive up the side of the building. Using the spikes on his wheels to help him climb up despite every law in the book saying a scenario like this should have been improbable.
Raven recovered from the shock first and levitated through the air after Red X. "Of all the cheap underhanded tricks." She muttered.
Adam shook his head repeatedly. "How is that even possible?!" Adam asked behind Starfire. "The physics don't add up!"
She shrugged and grabbed his hand, knowing her friend couldn't fly upwards by himself. "I don't know friend Adam." She said as she flew up after Red X too with Adam in tow. "I am simply doing the chasing."
Robin stayed at the bottom and activated his lasers on his R-Cycle. They came out the sides of his front wheels, and he looked up the building after Red X.
"He's not getting away that easily," Robin muttered as the screen in front of him showed a lock on the X-Cycle.
Poom! Poom!
Two yellow blasts came out, hurtling through the air towards where Red X was.
The view showed Raven get in the way. The yellow laser blasts approached in the air behind her. "Azarath, Metrion-" She was chanting.
Boom! Boom!
Both blasts hit her back, sending her surprisingly through a window into the building. Starfire and Adam continued on past the hole in pursuit of Red X.
Robin gasped down below, and slowly backed his R-Cycle away to hide. "I'm dead. I'm so dead." He muttered to himself.
The scene shifted to show Red X finish climbing the building. He continued riding along on the roof. He was chuckling to himself as the spikes retracted back into his wheels. "Now that was just some dumb luck there." He said mirthfully. "The goth girl getting in the way of Robin's lasers. I wish I could say I planned that out."
Ksch! Boom!
A green starbolt hit his front tire halfway across the roof, launching him off of his bike. He skidded across the roof and stopped with his legs spread beneath him in a defensive pose, his cloak billowing out behind him. He looked up just as Starfire dropped Adam onto the rooftop. He held a sword and had a shield on his other arm. Starfire landed beside him, her fists covered in more green energy.
"Was that part included in your plan?" Adam asked.
"I'm sorry. Who's the angel?" Red X asked curiously.
"None of your business," Adam replied.
"I'm sorry, I was talking to the angel." Red X said back tauntingly.
With that, Adam charged forward to slash at Red X.
Pow!
Red X ducked the strike and hit Adam under his shield back with his boot. Adam landed hard on his back.
Red X raised his hand towards Adam to fire a contraption from his suit.
Ksch!
Red X rolled to the side, dodging the starbolt from Starfire. She flew forward through the air towards him. Her green eyes blazing.
Red X raised his hand to her instead.
A giant red X came out. Wrapping around Starfire and bringing her to the ground. Starfire groaned and tried to stretch her arms to break the bands.
Red X chuckled. "This is just too easy." He said.
"How about a challenge then!?"
Adam appeared in the view without his shield, using both hands to bring his sword down. Red X quickly turned around to face him, the X-Blades in his wrists coming out.
Chi!
He deflected Adam's sword with his X-Blades. "You know. I'd really love to see a challenge for once." Red X taunted. The X-Blades on his wrists started to spin.
Adam got an 'oh fetch' look on his face. But he either bravely, or stupidly brought his sword up in front of him with both hands to face Red X one on one.
Kch! Tck! Chi! Kch!
Adam was hard-pressed defending himself. He backed up as he used his sword in a defensive maneuver. Blocking Red X's quick strikes to his midsection and head.
"Rule number one. You can't win a fight being on the defensive kid." Red X said.
He feinted low, and Adam brought his sword down to block it.
Slash!
Red X's other X-blade made a small gash along Adam's left arm. Adam hissed through his teeth as he backed away.
"Rule number two. Don't show weakness to your opponent."
Slash!
Red X took advantage of Adam trying to back away to slice a gash on his right leg.
"Urgh!" Adam yelled as he jumped forward bringing his sword down.
KTH!
His sword interlocked with Red X's two X-Blades. The blades stopped spinning. The two stood there for a moment, both of them pushing back on each other for the higher ground. Adam grinned, thinking he had him.
Then Adam started to get pushed back, and Red X became the one to bear down on him. Adam stared into the bored eyes behind Red X's mask. "Come on kid, you can't be this weak! Put in some effort!" Red X yelled.
Adam gritted his teeth and pushed back harder. Trying to regain the ground he had lost. He started to inch back up.
Then Red X disappeared. A streak of orange filled the view.
Pow!
Starfire's fist slammed into Adam's face, sending him flying back through the air. He landed with an 'oof' on the edge of the roof. His head rolled to the side, and his eyes closed.
Starfire stared in surprise, the red bonds which had held her captive were seen on the roof behind her. Broken in two. "Friend Adam-"
Pow!
The view showed Starfire fly through the air into the roof staircase. She slammed against it and fell to the rooftop.
Red X lowered his boot and chuckled. "And rule three. Never let anger cloud your judgment in a fight." He finished tauntingly.
"It was nice playing with you all." He said. His X-Cycle rode up next to him.
Robin finally appeared on the edge of the rooftop using his bat-a-rang. "But as I said, I have some business to take care of." He said, before mounting his X-Cycle.
Robin quickly pulled out a birdarang.
"See ya later." He waved.
He and his bike disappeared from view.
Kch!
The birdarang stuck out of the rooftop where he had been. A few seconds later, Robin pulled it back out of the roof.
The scene showed his solemn face before he looked at the two hurt Titans. "This is bad." He muttered to himself.
The scene faded to black.
...
Darkness filled the scene.
...
"Hey! Retard!"
Badum.
A heartbeat sounded.
...
"Why are you running from us, idiot?!"
Badum. Badum.
Two heartbeats sounded close to each other.
...
"Come on! Take it like a man you little sissy!?"
Badumbadumbadumbadumbadumbadum!...
Rapid heartbeats sounded. Heavy breathing accompanied it. Laughter sounded in the background. Along with the revving of some car.
"Run all you want! You can't get away!"
"You'll never get away you retard!"
"Idiot!"
"Wimp!"
"Weakling!"
"Pathetic!"
"Loser!"
"Worthless!"
...
"AL!"
Whack! "NOOOOOOOOOO!"
The view suddenly showed Adam thrashing on a hospital bed. He had a bandage around part of his head, and he was screaming his head off. The heartbeat monitor nearby was going off the charts.
Cyborg immediately appeared on one side, holding down his right side. Beast Boy appeared on the opposite side, holding down his left side.
"Adam, calm down! You're okay man! The fight's over!" Cyborg tried to yell over Adam.
"Let me at them! Let me the fetch at them!" Adam yelled angrily, looking enraged.
"Rae, get me the tranquilizer!" Cyborg yelled.
"Which them dude? There's no one else around." Beast Boy tried to say to calm down Adam.
"Let go of me! They all fetching hurt me! They all make fun and belittle me! Those idiots all deserve to fetching die!"
Cyborg looked down in surprise at that statement. But nothing but gibberish was pouring out of Adam's mouth now. Only a couple of words like 'bricks' and 'truck' and 'retard' and 'fetch' were discernible in the rhetoric that followed.
"Rae! I need it now!" Cyborg yelled.
"Here!" Raven said as she handed him a syringe with a blue substance in it. Cyborg prepared to inject it into Adam.
"Hold him steady!" He ordered.
"I'm trying!" Beast Boy said.
"Try harder!" Cyborg yelled.
"It would've helped if you didn't use me as your hood ornament several hours ago Chrome Dome!" Beast Boy yelled back.
Cyborg finally got Adam's arm still and injected the needle quickly into the crook of it before Adam could move.
After another moment of trying to get free, Adam gasped in surprise. He stopped thrashing under them. He was still heavily breathing, but the heart rate monitor nearby was starting to calm down.
...
The scene showed the Infirmary around Adam. Starfire and Raven were staring at him beside Robin. Who had a clipboard in his hand, and his jaw on the ground in shock at what he had just witnessed.
"Um, you feeling better now man?" Cyborg asked.
Adam mutely nodded his head. The heart rate monitor was now somewhat normal. Cyborg took the syringe out of Adam's arm and threw it away.
"Do you want some time to rest dude?" Beast Boy asked.
Again, Adam mutely nodded. He laid back on the bed, saying nothing.
Cyborg looked to Robin, who now looked normal. "Did you still want that report from him on what happened Rob?" He asked.
Robin shook his head. "I think that can wait," Robin said, looking down worriedly at Adam. "It looks like he was far more affected by that fight than I thought.
Adam's eyes were slowly closing. The view around him was steadily starting to go dark.
"Should I make the pudding of forgiveness for friend Adam?" Starfire asked.
"Something tells me that he wasn't angry at you Star," Robin replied.
The memories in his mind were distancing like before. But the words branded into his mind clear as day.
"Worthless."
"Idiot."
"Retard."
The scene went dark…
