The High Warlock's Vampires

The Life of High Warlock Jace Montclaire

Chapter 1: High Warlock Jace Montclaire

Jace was the High Warlock of New York City and he liked that gig a lot. He'd worked hard to climb up to that position, leaving his old life and awful childhood behind. Other people dealt with trauma by going to therapy or talking about it, Jace had done it by shedding everything about his old life, including his name, and becoming someone else. Someone powerful, respected. He was never going to let anyone hurt him the way his father had hurt him when he had been a defenseless child.

Only that being High Warlock also came with a lot of responsibility. He had people rely on him now, depend on him. He was their protector. And though the responsibility had scared him at first, it also gave him an actual purpose. He had someone to protect. Some of them as helpless as he had been back then, because they were literal children. Shadowhunters liked to push Downworlders around and Jace, he was now the one to stand between those bullies and his people.

He got himself a house worthy of the High Warlock. A villa, Victorian style, in white and a soft red color, with a little tower and beautiful stained glass windows. There was also a large backyard that he spent a lot of time in, growing roses and also his own herbs and flowers that he needed for spells and potions. Aside from his garden, the backyard was all for his babies though.

It had started small, with one. A pitch-black Doberman he had found in a back-alley and taken home. Just for the night, because it was late. And then the dog looked at him with those large eyes and snuggled up to him and Jace accidentally named him. Anubis. Since then, the Doberman had lived with him, the first of many dogs. Jace started bringing home homeless dogs. Those abandoned by the people they relied on. The newest member of Jace's fluffy family was a Golden Retriever puppy that Jace had found in a box labeled Free Dogs, the poor thing shivering and half starved. Jace had brought him home and hand-fed him. Now, Dale was the baby of the family.

His furry family was who usually alerted him to visitors too. Their ears perked up, the more curious ones would run toward the doors right away, curious to see who it was. Jace looked up from his book when Dale on his lap started whining until Jace helped the tiny puppy onto the ground. Immediately did the Golden Retriever run off toward the door. Anubis on the other hand barely grumbled, not moving from his spot next to Jace on the couch. Chuckling, Jace put his book down and reached out to caress Anubis' head gently, waiting a beat.

No one came in or knocked though. "Come inside, the door is always open."

The door opened and excited barking erupted in the foyer. Jace remained seated, rubbing the spot between Anubis' ears that always made the Doberman growl lowly and pleased.

"Hello, gorgeous. Who are you?"

The voice was pleasant and gentle as they spoke with one of Jace's dogs. Jace liked that. His many dogs also served as a quick test for the people's characters. Someone who was being rude or mean to innocent creatures did not deserve the High Warlock's help. Intrigued, he got up from his spot – much to Anubis' displeasure – and headed to the foyer himself. He found two Shadowhunters in his foyer, easy to recognize with the tacky runes adoring their skin. One of them, a dark-skinned woman, was sitting on the ground between Patch and Ace, one hand on each of the large dogs' heads. The other, an Asian looking man with a well-groomed goatee and fluffy, black hair, was holding Dale in his arms, gently, with the puppy licking his cheek. Many disliked that, but the man was laughing softly, caressing Dale. A man who was gentle with Jace's baby had Jace's attention.

"That's Dale. He's still new to the family," offered Jace casually.

The Shadowhunter smiled as he looked at Dale. "Hello, Dale. You are a very precious little thing."

Hng. Jace was weak for a gentle soul who was good with his dogs. He bit his lower lip hard.

"So, you Shadowhunters just here to cuddle my dogs, or is there something I can do for you?"

He needed to get the handsome Shadowhunter out of his house quickly before he got tempted too much. The longer he looked at the Shadowhunter, the more tempted he felt. Those tight, dark pants were already bad enough, but that thigh holster. Mh. Personally, Jace thought that these should be illegal, because damn, the way they hugged the Shadowhunters' thighs, drawing special attention to them. And on this one, in particular... Jace licked his lips a little.

"I'd be fine if we just cuddle the dogs, to be honest," offered the other Shadowhunter.

Jace blinked, moving his eyes away from the eye-candy holding Dale. The woman looked up from the two dogs she was still paying attention to, smiling at Jace. It made him chuckle softly where he stood leaning against the arch connecting his foyer with the hall. Finally did the handsome Shadowhunter tear his eyes away from Dale and look at Jace. The soft, fond expression he had for the dog was replaced with a startled one as he stared at Jace. Startled and intrigued. How nice, so he wasn't the only one affected here. He liked an even playing field. Now he was relieved that he had taken the time to take care of his hair this morning, braiding some strands and tying them back to hold his other hair out of his face. He loved his hair, golden-blonde and smooth, reaching about his collarbone. It had a good length for pulling, which was why he had grown it out in the first place. He wondered if the Shadowhunter was the kind to pull hair. Mh.

"You can close your mouth, gorgeous," noted Jace with a wink.

He noticed the way the Shadowhunter was getting lost in his eyes. His primary warlock mark. Jace rarely hid it, never when he was at home. Whoever entered his home needed to live with the fact that he was a warlock. He wore his mark with pride. The liquid gold in his left eye, disrupting the sky-blue of his eyes. The Shadowhunter startled, embarrassed. How cute.

The other Shadowhunter drew Jace's attention again. "High Warlock Caelinus? Jonathan Caelinus?"

Jace smiled politely and arched one eyebrow. "Jace. Everybody calls me Jace. But yes. Good guess. Considering you are at the High Warlock's home, cuddling his dogs. Better question is: Who are you and why are you here, if it is not the dog-cuddling?"

"Again, would be very fine with the dog-cuddling," the other Shadowhunter chuckled. "But we are here on official Clave business. I'm Catarina Loss and this is my parabatai, Magnus Bane."

No surprises there. Alec had already called him earlier and warned him that a nosy Shadowhunter had bothered him this morning and that it would be a matter of time before one reached out to him, so Jace had been expecting some Shadowhunters to drop in on him.

Handsome – Magnus – still looked flustered as he held out a hand. "A... A pleasure to meet you."

"I do hope that the pleasure will be very mutual, Mister Bane."

Jace put on his most seductive smile as he accepted Magnus' hand and shook it. The flustered look on Magnus' face made Jace laugh as he turned around and motioned for the Shadowhunters to follow him toward the living room. He waited until the Shadowhunters sat, so he could pick the seat opposite them, facing them both. He watched the way Magnus adjusted Dale so the puppy was happily sitting on his lap, wagging his tail excitedly. It seemed the handsome Shadowhunter definitely had Dale's approval, which made Jace smile softly. Time to cut to the chase.

"You want my help fighting the Circle. What do I get out of that? And don't say 'he's your enemy too', I'm aware of that but I could protect my warlocks on my own."

"More say, politically. We want a... council. The head of the Institute and representatives of vampires, werewolves, Seelies and warlocks," offered Catarina.

That didn't sound half bad. "Mh... I wouldn't mind that."

"Tell us, what else can we throw in to interest you?" asked Cat. "We don't have to play coy, you're aware of how powerful you are, on your own already but your agreement would also entail that of other warlocks and you and your magic are clear assets."

The longer Jace stared at Magnus, the more he wanted the other. "A date with your parabatai."

The way Magnus' eyes widened was charming. "Me?"

"Not an expert, but far as I know, the parabatai bond is only shared between two people, so yes."

Catarina beat Magnus to an answer. "Perfect! We have an agreement then!"

Well, Jace definitely liked that woman. "I'll go and make us some drinks, you talk about it."

He left the living room to head over to the sitting room, where he kept his bar. With all the time in the world, he started preparing three drinks to give the parabatai the chance to talk about this. He didn't want to go out with Magnus if the Shadowhunter had no interest in it, but the way Magnus had looked at him made Jace think there was definitely some fire in the making. Picking up the tray with the three glasses, he side-stepped four of his dogs on his way back.

"Okay. One date," agreed Magnus the moment Jace entered the foyer again.

"Don't make it sound like such a sacrifice," Jace laughed. "I'll sweep you off your feet."

And that was a promise he intended to keep. Magnus intrigued him a lot. Smiling charmingly, Jace put the tray down on the table between the couches, picking one of the glasses up himself. He waited for the two Shadowhunters to pick up their own glasses and raise them.

"To a good business arrangement," offered Jace, smirking at Magnus. "And hopefully more."

Magnus looked flustered again, avoiding his eyes. Oh, Jace was going to have so much fun with this one, he could already tell. Jace laughed a little as he finished his own drink and sat down again.

"Give me your phone, gorgeous," prompted Jace, holding out his hand.

"Magnus. He's talking to you," Catarina elbowed her parabatai.

"Oh. Uh. Okay," Magnus got his phone out of his pocket and unlocked it.

Jace had to smile a little as he saw the phone background. Magnus and Catarina, as teenagers, smiling brightly and showing off their matching parabatai-runes on their chests, below the collarbone. Close to their hearts. With quick fingers did he save his number and take a quick selfie to add as the contact picture, smirking seductively into the camera.

"There you go. So you can text me the details of your little... cabinet thing. And tell me when you're free for our date, okay? Don't make me wait too long," Jace winked as he handed the phone back.

Magnus made a small noise as he saw the name Jace had saved his number under, though he simply pocketed the phone and didn't change it. Jace chuckled as he leaned back in his seat. He did hope his handsome Shadowhunter wasn't going to leave him hanging though.

/break\

Magnus was laying on his bed, an arm behind his head, his phone in his other hand. The pretty warlock was smiling at him from his phone, the contact photo Jace had set for himself. Beneath the picture, the name glared mockingly at him. Boyfriend. Very optimistic. Then again, everything about Jace had been... so self-assured. The warlock knew his own worth, not just his good looks but also his power and position as the High Warlock.

Which, honestly, the High Warlock of New York. He was powerful, incredibly powerful – not just his magical power, but the power that came with leadership. And both of that, Magnus found that to be quite the turn-on, but he also found himself slightly envious of that. Not necessarily the power or even the magic. Magnus was a small cog in the machine that was the Clave. The Bane family was respected, yes, his father Asmodeus was a big name, practically royalty, with that came pressure, but still he was just a soldier. He held no special powers that made him stand out. He worked hard, he was a good fighter, he was strong. But in the end, they were all just soldiers.

Sighing, he dialed the number; time to face the music. "High Warlock Caelinus?"

"I told you to call me Jace, gorgeous. I'll take 'babe' or 'love of my life' too, but let's give those some more time and get to know each other better first, mh."

"You're a lot," commented Magnus with a small huff.

"I am confident you can take it," Magnus could picture the smirk on Jace's face.

Magnus shuddered at the lewd implication to Jace's words. What a dirty little warlock.

"I have Saturday off. I will... come pick you up at five, we go to Taki's Diner. My treat."

"Mh... Surprisingly bossy. I like that. Five works for me. I'll see you then, gorgeous."

Magnus loved the way Jace called him 'gorgeous'. His heart was racing as the call disconnected. Jace definitely was a lot, but the kind that seemed exciting. A challenge that Magnus was happy to tackle. He had never made one sane decision when it came to dating. He'd hooked up with Downworlders before, men – men alone should not have been on that list, because the Clave frowned down on homosexuality. What Magnus was, the Clave didn't even acknowledge. Mundies called it bisexual. He liked that. To the Clave, it just meant he was normal enough to suppress the unnatural urges he had. Magnus wasn't a fan of suppressing any part of himself, so here he was, setting up a date with the handsome High Warlock of New York.

"At least there are cute dogs in my future," mused Magnus with a small grin.

Even if the date was a failure, he'd get to see the precious puppy again. Dale. What a cutie.

/break\

"That is absolutely cheating," declared Magnus offended.

Jace grinned in an unapologetic manner. "How? He likes you. He insisted on coming along."

"You knew I wouldn't resist this precious baby and definitely not bail immediately if you brought him," Magnus glared at Jace while cradling Dale against his chest.

The puppy was eagerly licking his cheek again, whining happily. Jace smiled at him as he offered an arm. Admittedly, Magnus had thought about having Catarina call with a fake emergency about twenty minutes in. As handsome and charming as Jace was, he was also a very bad idea.

"How did you know that I would try to bail?" Magnus asked as they started walking.

"You were trying to worm your way out of this, even though you are clearly into me. I might not know why, but I know that you are torn about this," replied Jace with a smile. "It's okay. I know I'm a lot and that can... intimidate people. Chase them away."

Magnus' eyes softened as he looked at the High Warlock. He had a feeling that there was more to that. There was a deep pain in Jace's eyes, one Magnus didn't feel privy to pry into. Not yet anyway. He'd have to grow closer to Jace before he could ask the deep, serious questions.

"You weren't surprised that we came over the other day," Magnus picked as the first topic. "Why?"

"You Shadowhunters might now have finally realized that you can reach out to us, but we've been doing that for many years," Jace chuckled amused. "Alec – Alexander Lightwood, the leader of the New York clan – called me to give me a heads-up."

"You know the clan-leader," Magnus blinked a few times.

"Very, very... intimately so, yes," Jace winked a little. "He's also my best friend."

At that, Magnus made a small noise. He had never met the current clan leader, but he had heard the man was pretty intimidating. Magnus kept his eyes on Jace as the two walked calmly toward the diner. So casual about his past conquests. Magnus couldn't do that. The only relationship he'd ever been public about had been Dot Rollins, a woman and a fellow Shadowhunter.

"I envy you," admitted Magnus when they reached the diner.

"Not for my good looks, because you have those yourself. The dogs, right? It's the dogs."

Magnus huffed softly and shook his head. "I mean, those too. They are very precious, right Dale?"

He lifted the puppy up over his head for a second before lowering him against his chest once more. Jace slid into a booth and waited a moment for Magnus to sit down opposite him, putting Dale down right next to himself and patting the puppy's head.

"You... flirt with me, a man and a Shadowhunter, so openly. You so casually drop that you were with the clan-leader, who is also a man. I couldn't be... like that. I can't be like that. I envy how open you are with your homosexuality," clarified Magnus after a moment.

"Pansexuality, actually. I dig guys, but not just guys," corrected Jace with a half-smirk. "And yeah. I... I wasn't always able to. I was raised by a very conservative Shadowhunter myself, actually. Homosexuality was a hard no. I fought for this. I didn't just get to be this... open about it. I fought tooth and nail to own who I am. Being powerful helps. Both, my magic as well as my position. No one's going to call the High Warlock who can hex them with a snap of his fingers any slurs to his face, not even behind his back because he has allies everywhere."

"You were raised by a Shadowhunter?" Magnus looked up in surprise.

"We're not there yet, gorgeous," Jace shook his head and turned to look out the window. "Five dates minimum before I unpack the tragic childhood trauma. Gotta keep it interesting for you."

Magnus huffed a little, but nodded. "Fair enough. So, tell me something you are willing to share."

"I play the piano," offered Jace after a moment. "And I sing, in my free time and in my club."

"Your... Right. The Vesper Club. I've... heard of that," Magnus nodded slowly to himself.

"Heard of?" Jace echoed with raised eyebrows as he grabbed the menu. "You've never been to the Vesper? Oh, that can't stand. I am taking you out to dance on our second date."

"Bold of you to assume we'll have a second date."

Jace simply smirked at him as the waitress approached them, tapping her pen against her notebook. "Hey, Jace. New conquest is cute. What can I bring you?"

"Hello, Izzy," Jace grinned at the waitress. "And thanks, I know he's pretty. I'll take the bacon burger, the sweet potato fries, a strawberry milkshake and-"

"An additional serving of bacon. You've been coming here for years. I know your usual. The question was aimed at the cute one, not you," Izzy rolled her eyes at Jace.

Magnus cleared his throat. "I'll... take the burger with cheddar, regular fries and a coke, please."

"Polite. I really like you. You know, you could do much better than Jace-"

"Iz. Go away," Jace glared at her until she retreated with a chuckle.

"Let me guess, an ex of yours?" guessed Magnus startled.

"No. Alec's sister. We go way back," replied Jace with a smile.

"But she's a warlock," argued Magnus confused, staring after her.

Long, dark curls, but he had seen her warlock-mark shine through. Golden-green scales, like a snake's. They shimmered every now and again, flaring up at different places. Her thigh, her arm, her shoulder next. It was fascinating and he doubted she had no control; she was deliberately showing off her warlock-mark, but not all of it. Drawing more attention with the change.

"Alec used to be a warlock too before he got turned into a vampire. The thing about vampires is that they aren't born this way. They are turned. They used to be someone else before," offered Jace.

Magnus hummed, intrigued. He had not known that the current clan-leader used to be a warlock. After a few minutes, the waitress returned with their orders, winking at Magnus. He politely tried to ignore it, instead focusing on the meal in front of him. At least until a cold snout started nudging his elbow. Furrowing his brows, Magnus turned to look at Dale, which was an absolute mistake, because the precious puppy was sitting with his front paws resting against Magnus' thigh, his tail wagging and his eyes about twice the size as before. A cute, pink tongue was hanging out his mouth as he stared pleadingly up at Magnus. Magnus just immediately melted into a puddle.

"...Jace, what do I do?" Magnus' voice was a little helpless. "He is hypnotizing me."

Jace laughed, a bright, warm sound, before he pushed the plate of bacon closer. "He takes after his dad, loves his bacon just as much as I do. You can give him one piece. But only one. I don't want my dogs to get fat, but I also have a hard time denying them too."

Without looking away from the puppy, Magnus reached for the bacon and took one crispy stripe. He held it up a little higher over Dale's head so the puppy had to sit on his behind and beg properly. How adorable those tiny paws were. Cooing at him, Magnus lowered the bacon.

"Yes, you are a good boy, a very good boy," whispered Magnus with a smile.

"I like that about you," Jace's voice was soft and warm, causing Magnus to turn to look at him curiously. "When you entered my home, you spoke gently to my dogs, you caressed Dale and were sweet and kind with him. You won't believe how many people are just... unnecessarily rude and mean to animals. But you're... warm and gentle and loving. The way people treat animals tells a lot about them and you are... a good and kind person."

Magnus' cheeks felt hot at that. How much this man had read him in such little time. And how fond and warm Jace's voice was he spoke. Smitten. Huh. Blinking a couple of times, Magnus regarded Jace, getting lost in his dual-colored eyes, Jace smiling back at him.

/break\

Jace was definitely trying to woo Magnus. On their second date, the two of them went out to a fancy, expensive restaurant, Jace's treat. The warlock clearly had a lot of money, but this didn't feel like Jace was trying to show off, it felt like Jace was simply used to a certain standard of luxury and wanted Magnus to share that with him. The third date was when Jace took him out dancing. And oh, he put on a show. There was a round stage down at the bar, with a beautiful, white piano on it. When Magnus entered the club, Jace was sitting behind the piano, wearing a white suit, his collar popped and the first three buttons of his shirt opened. He was playing like a god and his voice was so enchanting as he sang. The whole club was entranced by him.

"He's good, isn't he?"

Magnus startled. When he turned toward the woman next to him, he saw it was Izzy, the waitress, wearing a white short latex skirt and a pretty top to match. She sat next to a dirty-blonde woman.

"Isabelle," offered Izzy. "And that's my girlfriend, Lydia."

"Yes, Izzy, I remember you," Magnus smiled and took her hand to shake.

"So that's him? That's Jace's newest plaything?" Lydia peered over Isabelle's shoulder.

"I actually think he's pretty serious about this one," replied Isabelle with a teasing grin.

Flustered, Magnus turned away from them, instead focusing on Jace. "He's beautiful."

"The annoying thing is, he's also aware of that," offered Lydia with an eye-roll.

"So you did cave and give him a second date, mh? Just to check out the club?"

"Third date, actually. And... it's only partially because I was curious about the club," admitted Magnus. "Mostly, I'm curious about him. About... everything about him."

"Him and this club are inherently linked," stated Lydia as she lifted her drink.

It was dark-red. Nearly black. Thick. Magnus watched closely, just to see a glint of fangs. Vampire.

"And I would like to know it all. From him," replied Magnus with a half-shrug.

"Hello, babe, you came," Jace's voice was excited and happy as he approached them.

Immediately did Magnus turn away from the girls to instead smile at Jace. He was pulled into a soft kiss that quickly deepened. By the time they parted, Jace got comfortable on his lap, resting his head against Magnus' shoulder. He looked exhausted. Not just from the singing.

"You alright?" Magnus asked concerned, tracing Jace's face.

"Warlocks keep disappearing. I keep having to deal with it. This war's been keeping me busy, even outside of your Institute annoying me about favors or requiring me to come to cabinet meetings."

"Poor baby," Magnus cooed softly, kissing Jace's forehead. "Want to go home?"

"My, Mister Bane, are you trying to seduce me?" Jace chuckled softly.

"Not like that. I meant that we don't have to spend tonight together, you could go home and rest."

"Gorgeous, this date was the only thing that kept me going these past few days," Jace slowly sat up more. "I was looking forward to seeing you tonight, Magnus, even if I'm tired, I want to be here, with you, I want to dance with you, okay?"

It felt much more impactful when Jace used his actual name. Magnus cleared his throat, feeling a bit overwhelmed by the things Jace made him feel. The next moment, Jace got off his lap and then held out his hands, quietly asking him to dance. How could Magnus possibly refuse?

/break\

By the fifth date, Jace finally got Magnus to go back home with him. They both knew where this was leading the moment they crossed the threshold. The problem were the dogs. Jace laughed softly as he side-stepped his dogs with grace and practice, leading Magnus along up the stairs.

"Don't mind the fluff-balls," Jace pushed one out of the way. "But let's close the door before they try to sneak in. I have a kinky streak, but I'm not into voyeurism."

Magnus chuckled as they entered the bedroom, immediately closing the door behind them. The next moment, Jace pinned Magnus against that closed door, kissing him heatedly. As their lips clashed, Jace started pulling on Magnus' clothes. When they parted, they quickly stripped each other, both eager for this. They had been building up to this for the past two weeks now. It hadn't been long, but oh it felt like so much more. Jace shuddered when Magnus latched onto his neck, kissing it and sucking a mark onto it. Jace's hands traced along runes, the one on Magnus' neck, down to his parabatai rune, over his very impressive chest. Once Magnus let go of his neck, Jace latched onto that chest. He kissed down, over soft skin and over rough, runed skin, toward nice, hard abs.

"Bed," gasped Magnus out, his fingers running through Jace's hair.

Jace's eyes rolled back when Magnus tugged a little, a gluttonous moan slipping from his lips. He did love that. Magnus looked startled, but in a pleased way. It was nice to see the way Magnus grew more comfortable around him, in their relationship. Slowly, Jace got off the floor.

"Right. Bed. Good idea," Jace whispered into Magnus' ear, catching his earlobe with his teeth.

He tugged only slightly, before pushing off the door and pulling Magnus along with him. The two of them settled down on the bed together, both naked. Once more, Jace pulled his lover into a kiss.

"Tell me what you want, Magnus," whispered Jace lowly.

"I want you, Jace," replied Magnus firmly, grinning a little.

"That is what I was hoping for," Jace grinned back at him. "But be more specific, mh?"

Magnus' hands wandered down Jace's chest, around his waist and resting on his ass. Squeezing tightly. Jace moaned into Magnus' mouth before resting his head in Magnus' neck. They settled in more and Jace pushed Magnus up against the headboard.

"What do you want, babe?" Magnus tilted his head as he got more comfortable.

"I want to ride you for all you're worth," stated Jace, the smirk on his face razor-sharp.

"That... That sounds very good to me, I am all for that," Magnus nodded slowly.

"Good," Jace chuckled a little. "Condoms are in the nightstand, think you can reach it?"

Nodding sharply, Magnus reached for a condom, but before he could do anything, Jace took it from him so he could get to work. He smiled like a shark as he rolled the condom over Magnus' impressive cock. He was thick, Jace loved the way its weight felt in his hand. His dark-red magic swirled around his fingers as he used it to lube Magnus' cock up and then covering his own fingers in a nice sheet of lube. He moved his slick hand behind his back to ease into himself, quickly and roughly scissoring himself. He knew what he could take, he knew what he liked.

"I wanted to do this since you walked into my house," admitted Jace roughly.

He climbed onto Magnus' lap, holding the Shadowhunter's cock with one hand and guiding himself onto it. Both of them groaned when more and more of Magnus' dick disappeared inside Jace. Once Jace was fully seated on Magnus, he paused, gasping for breath. This felt good.

"Y... You feel so good," Magnus moaned, grasping Jace's hips.

"So do you," Jace smirked against Magnus' neck. "Ready for some action?"

Magnus nodded once more and Jace lifted himself up. He brought himself down hard, started rolling his hips. It earned him the most gorgeous sounds from his Shadowhunter, deep, dark moans and soft gasps as his hard cock slipped in and out of Jace's tight hole. Jace himself was busy enjoying the way Magnus spread him, filled him up. Jace picked up the pace, bouncing on Magnus' cock, needy for more. His arms were wrapped around Magnus' neck, holding onto him. Magnus' own fingers were scratching over Jace's thighs as he tried to cling onto the blonde warlock. It took Jace a lot of concentration to remove one arm from Magnus' neck and reach for his own cock. His fingers wrapped around his dick and he started jerking himself off in pace with his own movement. He brought himself down hard on Magnus' cock, just as he felt his own orgasm build up.

"I'm close," gasped Jace out as jerked himself more harshly, more vigorously.

"Hng-" Magnus threw his head back. "Yeah. Me too."

Jace lifted himself nearly all the way off Magnus' cock before slamming back down and just then, he came, moaning in a drawn-out way. Magnus was quick to follow as Jace's muscles contorted around him, still riding him. Both were panting hard, trying to catch their breath, Jace still in Magnus' lap, curling against him. Once Jace was calmed down a little, he climbed off Magnus and collapsed sideways onto his own bed. He snapped his fingers to clean them both off and make the used condom disappear. Magnus hummed pleased as he slipped down to lay on the bed.

"That was... nice..." offered Magnus softly, quirking his lips. "We should do that again."

"Agreed," Jace laughed a little as he snuggled up to Magnus. "Stay the night?"

"I have tomorrow off. That's why I picked tonight for our date," whispered Magnus.

"Mh... Mister Bane, you did deliberately seduce me," Jace chuckled pleased, kissing Magnus.

"Absolutely," Magnus looked at him seriously before cracking a smile. "I do want you. I wanted you from day one. I wanted you more with every date we went on."

"Good. Because the feeling is mutual," Jace smiled lazily at Magnus before yawning.

His Shadowhunter looked gorgeous. All spent, exhausted but satisfied, his skin glistering with sweat. Those pretty runes. Humming to himself, Jace reached out to gently trace the runes one by one. Magnus let him, he simply watched, a slightly bemused look on his face. The door creaked as one of the more cunning dogs finally managed to pull down the handle and open it. The door pushed open and feet patted over to the bed. Jace didn't catch much more beyond that, because he slipped into a peaceful slumber snuggled up against Magnus like this.

Author's note: If the opening scene seems familiar, that's because it's a POV switch of a Jagnus drabble I wrote for Writer's Month - "Magnus and the High Warlock"! I didn't want to make this multichapter Malace fic dependant on "read the oneshot first" and since it's very short, I figured I'd rewrite it from Jace's POV and put it into the story, though if you're curious to see Magnus' side of this meeting, go and read the oneshot!

I just had so much fun with the concept of Shadowhunter!Magnus and warlock!Jace, I really wanted to explore that world further so it kind of accidentally turned into a multichapter continuation also featuring vampire!Alec. Because every year, I like to write a lil something very self indulgent for my birthday. This is it this year, birthday present to myself, but you're all free to enjoy it too ;)
