Author's Note: Hey everyone! Well, I'm back from an untimely death! A while back, I put up at notice for a fourth fanfic, and here it is. This is a crossover between Destiny and Fire Emblem: Three Houses.
To let my audience know, the FE:3H stuff will be a Crimson Flower story, with a bit of Verdant Wind for certain parts, as well as this being an AU where both male and female Byleth are twins. (Female Byleth being named…well, Byleth, while Male Byleth is going to be called Berith.) As for the Destiny stuff, it is set after the events of the House of Wolves storyline. There will also be lots of shipping (at least in the Fire Emblem stuff,) but those will be revealed as the story goes on.
Anyway, I hope you guys enjoy my return into fanfiction!
GUARDIANS OF FODLAN:
A Destiny/Fire Emblem: Three Houses crossover
Written by Maxdude1995
Chapter 1:
Guardians In a New World
The Tower, The Last City, Earth
"What the friggin hell! I still haven't got the damn Elder Cipher to drop for me!"
"Well, have you tried shooting Skolas with a rocket launcher?"
"Hell no! Everyone knows that Machine Guns do more damage!"
"No, they don't!"
We find two Guardians, Cade-1 and Richard, arguing with each other after going through a run in The Reef's Prison of Elders. More specifically, facing the, so called, "Kell of Kells," Skolas. They were arguing about a great way to farm for an Elder Cipher, which could be used to grant one of three Exotic weapons that Variks, the Prison's warden, was giving away as a prize to anyone who found the Cipher.
Unaware of their surroundings, a sudden gust of wind blew through between them. The two Guardians stopped their argument and turned to where the gust came from. They looked to see it was the third member of their fireteam, Amora.
"You boys gonna bicker, or are we doing something worthwhile?" Amora said in a bored, but annoyed tone. Both male Guardians sighed and sat on the steps of the Tower balcony that led to where Lord Saladin would be usually, with Amora sitting near the steps with them.
Cade-1 sighed as he looked up to The Traveler and said, "You know guys, ever since we took down the House of Wolves, things have gotten a bit…well…boring to say the least." Richard looked to Cade-1 and replied, "Yeah, other than the occasional bounty from the Vanguard or one of the factions wanting some old Golden Age tech or some location to be captured, things have gotten quiet recently."
Amora looked to Cade-1 and said, "Look, bored or not, we are Guardians of The City and we are gonna do what we always do, drive back the Darkness and get some sweet loot!" Cade-1 and Richard looked at Amora with an odd expression on their faces as Amora was never one for expressing herself that greatly. Amora took notice and change her expression to one of boredom and said, "Or something like that." Both Guardians chuckled at Amora's quick changing expressions and, after a long discussion, all three of them decided to go to Venus and muck about and gather some materials for their weapons and armor.
-Much Later-
Ishtar Sink, Venus
We find our three guardians in the middle of a public event, helping out they're fellow Guardians fighting a Fallen Walker. Cade-1 was busy tanking the Walker with his Abyss Defiant auto rifle while Richard provided cover with a Titan Bubble using Weapons of Light to give his fireteam and the Guardians around them a buff to their weapons.
It took a while, but the large group of Guardians managed to take down the Fallen's mechanical beast. Sadly, the loot from the event was what one could say…lackluster.
"Of course, it's a bunch of blues!" Cade-1 yelled in an annoyed tone. Amora walked up to Cade-1, putting her hand on his shoulder, saying, "Well, better than getting a bunch of armor materials I'd say." Richard, dusting himself off, replied, "Your one to talk, I got jack shit!"
"Ok! Let's not tear each other's heads off about what we got or didn't get." Cade-1 said as he walked up to his fireteam. Both Richard and Amora looked at each other and nodded silently in agreement. All three then summoned their sparrows and rode off to where ever their sense of adventure took them.
It was a good bit of driving around the Ishtar Sink when suddenly, Cade-1's Ghost, which he dubbed Red Eclipse, made a pinging sound. "Hey Cade," Amora said, turning to her Exo companion, "looks like Red's found something." Cade-1 then stopped his Sparrow, pulled out his Ghost, and said, "What's up Red, found something interesting?"
Red Eclipse looked at his Guardian and said, "Sorry to interrupt our tour of the Ishtar Sink Guardian, but I just picked up an odd signal come from outside the entrance of the Vault of Glass. Could be the Vex mucking about or the Fallen doing something shady." Cade-1 put his Ghost back and said to his fireteam, "Welp, look like we got something fun to do guys!" All three Guardians nodded and headed out to the entrance of the Vault of Glass.
Vault of Glass Entrance, Venus
Cade-1, Richard, and Amora soon arrived outside the Vault of Glass, a once mysterious location that once was the home of Atheon, Time's Conflux. Now it was an empty husk of a vault, though it still was outside the bounds of time, so gathering loot was an easy grind. But our three Guardians were not here to wreck Atheon for the fifteen thousandth time, they were here to investigate a mysterious signal appearing in the area.
"So, where is this signal being broadcasted from Red?" Cade-1 said to his Ghost as he and his fireteam were looking around. Red Eclipse was scanning the area until he turned to the direction the signal was coming from and made a 'ping' sound. "There!" Red shouted, "In that cave. The signal is coming from there."
The trio looked into the cave's entrance, making sure there were no Vex inside, and entered the cave. After what seemed like an hour, A dim humming could be heard from around the next corner. When the three Guardians turned the corner, they were shocked to see what they found.
"A Vex Gate, here!" Richard shouted in amazement.
The Guardians stood in awe of finding an active Vex Gate underneath the Vault of Glass. Of course, the first thing they needed to do is contact the Vanguard and inform them of the gate's activation.
Just as Cade-1 was about to get on the comms to Commander Zavala to inform him of the Vex Gate, Richard spoke up and said, "Now hold on guys. While I think it's a good idea to let the Vanguard know of this thing, shouldn't we see where this gate leads to?"
Cade-1 and Amora looked at Richard with a shocked expression. Cade-1 then spoke up, saying, "The hell do you mean 'where it leads to!?' Obviously, it might lead to the Black Garden. Hell, it could lead us to a trap by the Vex!"
"Then why would the Vex have some random gate active that's not even guarded by some Goblins or Minitours. Hell, not even a Cyclops is here." Richard said in response. Cade-1 and Amora stood there pondering, think if it was a good idea to enter a Vex gate with no idea where it might lead them. After a bit of pondering, Cade-1 sighed and said to his fireteam, "Well, guess you got us in a tight spot Dick." "Fine, well enter the gate. Maybe there's a chance we can record what we see and send the footage to the Vanguard." Cade-1 said in a defeated tone.
Richard laughed joyfully and replied, "Hah! Knew you guys were up for some exploring!"
After getting their bearings straight, the three Guardians stood in front of the gate, ready to enter it. "Whelp, as they say, 'nothing 'ventured, nothing gained." Cade-1 said with a combined sound of confidence and fear in his voice. Amora chuckled softly and replied, "Better words to be said Cade."
After her words, the three Guardians entered the gate, not knowing where they might end up, but they hoped it could lead to adventure and action. Hell, it might even lead them to somewhere that could help them benefit the City in any way possible.
Remire Village, Adrestian Empire, Fodlan
"Hey, Byleth! Wake up sleepy head!"
The girl known as Byleth was suddenly awoken by her older brother Berith. "Alright! Aright! No need to be so rough about it!" Byleth said in an agitated tone. "Sorry about that sis, but Dad told me that we're about to head out to our next job in the Kingdom." Berith said as he was gathering his supplies and preparing to leave.
Byleth was packing up her belongings, thinking about the odd dream she had before being woken up. It was of a battle between two armies, and how one the leader of the armies then brutally stabbed the other to death, then clutching the other leader's sword, calling it her 'mother.' Suddenly, the dream changed to that of a girl, asking who she was.
Byleth shook her head, deciding to put it in the back of her mind. Just as they were about to leave, one of the mercenaries from her father, Jeralt's, mercenary band came up to him. "Sir!" the mercenary said, "your presence is need." Jeralt looked towards his kids, motioning to them to follow them.
-Moments Later-
Byleth, Berith, and Jeralt were now in the presence of three young kids, ask the mercenaries for help. "What do a bunch of kids want at this hour?" said Jeralt. The blonde boy explained that the three of them were being pursued by a group of bandits, who were after their gold…and their lives. Jeralt was impressed by how calm they were, when he noticed their uniforms. Before he had a chance to speak, one of Jeralt's mercenaries walk towards the group, telling them that the bandits were just spotted outside of the village. Jeralt knew they couldn't abandon the village just yet.
Suddenly, a loud humming sound blasted throughout the area. Everyone covered their ears until they all looked to see a triangular shaped doorway appearing in front of them. It was unlike anything they had scene in their lives. The doorway looked like some weird portal, almost like some form of magic. None the less, everyone readied their weapons, preparing for a fight.
After a few minutes, three figures walked out of the doorway. Byleth, Berith, Jeralt, and the three kids steadily waited to find out who the figures were, until the figures were in sight. The figures look very…different to say the least. They were wearing various forms of armor, but it looked like a mix of clean and dirty, but the armor didn't look like it was made out of steel or iron. But it was the weapons that caught everyone off guard.
The weapons theses strangers where wielding was nothing what most soldiers had in Fodlan. Byleth noticed that the weapons looked like extremely advanced crossbows. Suddenly, the three strangers looked disoriented for a second.
After the strangers got their bearings straight, Jeralt was the first to speak up and acknowledge them. He spoke up and said, "Excuse me, but who are you three, and where did that doorway come from?"
Shaking his head, one of the strangers, one wearing what looked like some advanced wizards robe, said, "Wait…what…where are we?" Everyone looked at the strangers confusingly, but it was the white-haired girl who spoke up next, saying, "You're in Remire Village in the Adrestian Empire. It seems that you three are not from around here, are you?" The wizard replied, "No, we're not. I mean, one minute we were on Venus, the next we're in some medieval village."
Everyone looked confused over his response. Byleth spoke up, saying, "Wait, what is a Venus?" The wizard looked at the group and looked to his companions and said, "Oh, I'm sorry. Let us introduce ourselves." The wizard and his companions then removed their helms, causing the group to be shocked at what they saw. The tall and burly one was human, but the wizard had a very 'mechanical' looking head, almost like he was a metal man, while the girl had light blue skin and was glowing a mesmerizing glow.
"My name is Cade-1. These two are my friends, Richard and Amora. We are Guardians from Earth." The group was shocked by the metal man's statement. Byleth and Berith both looked at each other and pondered the metal man's words. "Guardians', 'Venus', 'Earth?" Byleth whispered to her brother, "Have you ever hear of such words bro?" "Definitely not." Berith responded.
Byleth then walked up to the unknown strangers known as the 'Guardians' and asked, "Excuse me but, what is that doorway you three came out off?" Cade-1 turned to look at the doorway and said, "Oh, what you guys are looking at is a Vex portal." "It allows the Vex to travel in-between time and space." Cade-1 explained.
The group was even more confused. What were the Vex and what was a Vex portal. Suddenly, one of Jeralt's mercenaries came up to the group and told them that the bandits were fast approaching. Jeralt told the mercenary to prepare for a battle. After the mercenary left, Jeralt turned to the strangers or 'Guardians' as they called themselves and said, "Look, while we would like to ask you three a thousand questions, these kids are in danger from a group of bandits." Jeralt gestured towards the three kids as he explained the situation. "I suppose we could as for your help?"
The 'Guardians' looked at each other and all three nodded in agreement. "Alright then, we'll give you guys a hand. Afterword, we'll give you a thorough explanation of who we are." Everyone nodded in agreement. Jeralt then said, "Alright everyone! Prepare for battle!" As everyone prepared for the bandits to appear, Jeralt turned to his kids and said, "I hope you both are ready." Byleth and Berith smiled and nodded. "Don't worry father, we're ready for anything!" Berith said with confidence. Byleth snickered at her bother with Berith looking at her with annoyance.
Still, one thing was going through Byleth's mind. Who were these mysterious strangers who called themselves 'Guardians?' What were Earth and Venus? What was a "Vex?" Are these strangers' friend or foe? What ever the reason, that didn't matter. What mattered was protecting these children from the bandits. Then, came the time for questions to be answered.
Well, that's Chapter 1! I know it seems I rushed things, but I didn't want to go to long until we had the worlds of Destiny and Fire Emblem: Three Houses finally meet. Besides, what other way to have the two worlds meet then from some Vex shenanigans. Hope you all enjoy this fanfic folks! Chapter 2 is next, where the Eisner twins, Jeralt, and the three house leaders learn of our three Guardians and their world.
BTW, the Guardians are based on my Guardians on Destiny.
See ya'll next time!
