The blonde watched on through the window of the car as the many pedestrians walked on the sidewalks of central New York city's streets, the city buzzing as usual with the many people, events, and traffic going on. The sound of a woman groaning in annoyance caught his attention, breaking him out of his bored trance to look over at the direction the sound came from.

A beautiful red-haired woman, dressed nicely with an annoyed expression, was sitting next to a handsome blonde-haired man who was also dressed well. "We've been stuck in this traffic for the last hour, damn it!" Kushina vented in frustration.

"That's New York traffic for ya." Minato jokingly replied. Though, it did not work out the way he hoped it would, as his wife gave him quite the unamused look at his comment. The sight made Naruto chuckle inwardly at his father's predicament.

Kushina dropped her unamused and intimidating stare at her husband to shake her head in frustration. "At this point, we'll be late for the event!" Her voice was laced with slight panic and worry.

Minato reached over and took hold of her hand to calm her down. "Hey, don't worry. We left earlier to make sure we got there time. There is still an entire hour left for us to make it there." The reassuring words thankfully did help resolve her worries somewhat. Meanwhile, Naruto smiled at seeing the sweet moment between his parents and seeing his mother worrying less now.

The mother's attention turned to her son seeing him. She decided to push back her annoyance at the traffic and asked her son, "Anyway, Naruto, how was your first day of university?"

The question caught him a bit off guard, but he turned his body around to get more comfortable before replying, "It was alright, nothing too special."

"That's it?" Kushina queried, disappointed with the lame answer she got, having hoped for a better explanation that gave her more. "You didn't meet anyone new?"

"Uhh, no."

"Seriously? You didn't make friends with someone else, a girl perhaps?" She asked with a wink, a cheeky grin on her face.

"A girl?" The blonde asked with an amused expression, his eyebrow raised at his mother's question. "It was just a day for them to show us the campus and give some more info about the course. I didn't interact much with anyone else other than the usual."

Minato decided to join in the conversation by asking, "Did you-" The sound of a bomb going off in the distance interrupted their chatter as car alarms started blaring.

"What was that?" Rolling down the window, the young adult peeked through it to see what exactly was going on but had to pull his head back to avoid a person sprinting in panic hitting his head. A second later, he looked outside again to see a lot of panicking people abandoning their cars as they ran away in a panic.

'What's going on?'

Minato turned around to address their driver but flinched when multiple shots were fired right at the driver, instantly killing him, causing Minato to turn around immediately, taking the case with him and looking at both his concerned and panicking wife and son with a serious gaze. "There is some sort of attack going on. We need to get out of here quickly."

The mother and son did not object to his suggestion at all, as they quickly moved to exit the vehicle. The doors were pushed open relatively quickly, the incoming smoke from the explosion hitting them at full force, causing them to start coughing, not being prepared for it. Minato took hold of his wife and son's hand to drag them out of the smoke but was halted by something crashing in front of them, causing them to fall down on the ground.

A ringing sound filled Naruto's ears as his blurry vision caught the sight of a person walking towards them. His blurry vision caught the faint outline of a bulky man wearing a mask before the ringing sound started getting louder and his eyes closed from him, slowly losing consciousness.

A blonde with striking blue eyes shot up in a sweat from his bed, his breathing quick, and his expression one of panic, shock, and confusion. Looking around the place, he quickly deduced that he was just in his room.

'Just a nightmare.'

Just then, his door opened up, showing the same red-haired woman in his nightmare. "Naruto, you have to wa-" She stopped when she saw what kind of state her son was in as her face and tone shifted into one of concern. "What happened? Are you alright? You're sweating so much?!" Being the doting mother she is, the young adult was not surprised by her barrage of questions.

"I'm fine, mom." The blonde reassured the worried mother. "Just, just had a nightmare, is all."

The woman sighed in relief, having thought her son had gotten sick somehow someway. "Alright then. I just came here to wake you up and tell you to come down. Breakfast is nearly ready."

Nodding at her comment, the blonde replied, "Just let me wash up and get dressed, and I'll be downstairs."

The mother nodded back and went to close the door but stopped just before it closed entirely and peaked inside again. "Are you sure you're alright? If you're sick, it's better to stay home instead of going to campus."

"Mom," Naruto gave her a deadpan look. "You don't need to worry so much. I'm completely fine. It was just a harmless nightmare."

"Fine." Kushina conceded with a huff. "If you say so. Don't take too long." She called out before closing the door to his room, leaving him to stare at it for some seconds, his mind going back to that nightmare he had.

'Harmless nightmare…' His mind mulled over the weird dream. While nightmares weren't exactly something unusual, this one was much more vivid and felt as if it was more than just a nightmare, and it rubbed him the wrong way. 'Maybe I'm looking too much into it?' Shaking his head off those thoughts, he pushed off his blankets and went to wash up and get dressed before starting a new chapter of his life.

It was sometime later when he came out of his room, dressed accordingly for the day while going downstairs, already hearing his parents talking to each other.

"Good morning." Both of his parents looked in his direction before smiling at him.

"Good morning to you too. You came right on time."

Pulling back the chair to sit on it before taking up a plate for himself to fill up with the food, the Uzumaki replied, "I wouldn't miss breakfast on a day like this."

"First day of university, hmm. How are you feeling about it?" Minato questioned.

Shrugging his shoulders. "I'm not sure. I don't really know what to expect. I just hope it's better than High School." While his memories of High School weren't exactly something terrible, they weren't anything special either. Having grown up with intelligent parents who were one of the most brilliant scientists had been a pretty good help, and while he had inherited his parents' intellect, he had not inherited his parent's love for science or anything school-related.

"Oh, trust me, it's certainly different from High School. I still remember my first day of university and the rest of my university year. Oh, Minato and I had so much fun during those years…." Both father and son merely shook their heads as Kushina started going down a memory lane again, which was a habit of hers that she didn't realize she had.

"Mom, you've said this before, you know."

"Oh," The mother finally realized what she was and chuckled sheepishly. "Haha, I did, but as I said, it is completely different from High School."

Minato nodded in agreement with his wife. "Yes. It is. But maybe we should tell Naruto here of the plans for today."

"Plans?" Naruto asked midbite, not having heard anything about this. "What do you mean?"

Swallowing down his food, Minato set down his utensils to focus on his son. "I'm sure you remember when we were asked to do some more research into mutants."

"Yeah."

"That research involves today's plans."

Tilting his head to the side, showing a confused expression, Naruto asked, "I thought you didn't accept that request?"

"We didn't," Minato answered, getting an even more confused expression in return for his reply.

"Minato denied the request due to his paranoia. His reasoning was they were going to exploit whatever was discovered and use it to their advantage." The mother quoted, shaking her head at her husband.

Ignoring his wife, Minato continued on. "Your mother convinced me to accept it. I was skeptical, but she thinks it could help us better understand them and, in turn, get closer to them and accept each other."

"When was this even decided?"

"Some days ago." The answer surprised him since it had only been a week since his parents had gotten the request, and he knew how stubborn his father was when he made a decision. Though he chuckled inwardly, knowing his father's most significant weakness to his stubbornness was his mother.

His mind went to another part of what his father had said.

"Accept each other, huh?" Naruto pondered back to the previous reply, thinking it over for a second. "Would they even be willing to let themselves get tested to find out more about them?"

Minato caught his wife giving him a look, putting him on the fence on providing the answer or not. His father's hesitance and his mother's look caused his eyebrows to raise at their sudden weird behavior.

"That…," Kushina began. "Actually, your father and I had done research before some years ago but decided to stop back then, and now we just started again, ya know." The mother answered cryptically.

Raising an eyebrow at the unusual secretive manner his mother responded with, Naruto asked, "When did this even happen?"

Kushina opened her mouth to respond, but her husband decided to answer before she could. "It was years ago when you were very young to remember it now. Don't worry about it." The older blonde stated, quickly putting an end to it before it could go on further.

Naruto slowly nodded his head, although he was still not sure why they didn't explain it in more detail but didn't want to pester them with questions at the moment and ask them again at a later date. "So, everything is already done then, and you just need to present it?" Both of his parents nodded yes to his question.

"That's what today's plans are for. The presentation!" Kushina eagerly announced as she dramatically flailed her arms in a circling motion.

Naruto made a slightly annoyed face. "You couldn't have told me this beforehand?"

"Uhh, well, we were planning to tell you about this yesterday, but we forgot." Kushina sheepishly replied, getting a grumble from her son in return. "Why? Did you have plans for today?"

"I did." Naruto replied, his voice and face showing his disappointment before continuing, "Guess I'll have to cancel them."

"Oh, stop sulking like that. You're going to have to join us in order to learn everything if you want to be like us in the future."

Minato nodded in agreement to his wife's comment. "Your mom is right, Naruto. This will be a good learning experience for you."

Though he didn't like it much, the blonde relented but understood why. "Yeah, I guess so." His disappointment was clearly visible, which made the parents feel guilty all of a sudden.

"Hey," Naruto perked up, hearing his father calling out as he looked over towards him before the older blonde continued. "The presentation might not take that long, so you could maybe still go and do whatever it is you have planned."

Naruto thought about it as he finished eating his breakfast before nodding. "I'm not sure yet. We'll see how it goes." Fumbling through his pocket, the blonde pulled out his phone, unlocking it to see it was time for him to leave, causing him to stand up from the table and excuse himself.

"I gotta go now."

"Wait," Kushina called out, prompting Naruto to stop in his tracks and turn around to listen to what his mother had to say. "Do you want us to bring you over there?"

Naruto shook his head no. "That's not needed. We'd just get stuck in traffic, and I'd be late." The parents chuckled, knowing the possibility of that happening was extremely high. "I'll just go on foot. I'll see you both later. Love you!"

The parents watched him leave the house before the wife turned to look at her husband with a slightly worried and unsure expression. Minato, feeling as if someone was looking at him, turned to see his wife and instantly got worried, asking.

"What's wrong?"

"It's Naruto…" Kushina responded, her tone worrying.

Minato blinked before smiling at his wife. "You worry too much. Whatever he had planned for today, I'm sure he'll get over it-"

"No, no," The redhead interrupted while shaking her head. "It's not about that, but about what happened this morning." She sighed in worry before continuing, "When I went to Naruto's room this morning, he was sitting on his bed, all sweaty and looking around in panic."

Instantly, Minato's smile disappeared at his wife's words. Memories he'd rather not remember came rushing into his mind as a worried frown replaced the previous smile. Kushina, meanwhile, continued, "I'm not sure if it's coming back or not, but do you think we should redo what we did?"

The blond looked down, deep in thought about the situation, before looking back up at his wife, who was looking at him expectantly. "Let's just… let's just wait it out for now and see how it goes before making any rash decisions."

"I'm not sure about that, Minato," Kushina replied, her worry still not gone after her husband's words.

Minato took her hand in his, giving it a squeeze to try and calm her down. "I know it's hard, but it could be just a normal nightmare. We can't rush anything like this. Let's just wait it out and see what happens, alright?" Kushina bit her lip, thinking about it before slowly nodding her head.

Meanwhile, Naruto, who had just gotten outside, took a deep breath to take in the fresh air of the morning. 'Looks like the weather today is really good.' He observed before taking out his headphones while walking towards his destination. A second later, the sounds of the city were replaced by the music from his headphones.

Feeling a bit exhausted for some reason, he decided to head over towards the nearest Starbucks to get a coffee for himself.

Some minutes later, he came out of the Starbucks store with his coffee to suddenly get hit by the smell of fire, causing him to look around to see what was going on. He was pretty surprised when he found a building on fire with a small crowd surrounded by it. Just seconds after that, Spider-Man jumped out from the building with someone in his grasp before landing in the middle of the assembled crowd, getting a cheer from them.

It made him smile, watching the hero zip away from the spot while the crowd continued praising and cheering for the hero. He never understood how that man J. Jonah Jameson hated the Spider-like hero. He always liked the mutants and heroes, thinking they did a fantastic job out there.

Sometimes he wished he himself had been a mutant. 'Mom and dad's plan might fix it,' He hoped. With those thoughts in mind, he continued his way towards his campus before arriving at the place.

Taking out his phone, the blonde checked out the time. "Still 10 minutes left." He muttered as he waited for his friend to arrive. It was only a couple of minutes later when a luxurious car pulled up next to him, and his friend hopped out, walking towards him with a small. Naruto grinned back at him as he held out his fist for a bump.

"You were nearly late, you know."

T'challa chucked while bumping his fist with his friend's fist. "You know how New York traffic is."

"That's why I just came on foot," Naruto responded as they started walking towards where they were supposed to gather around. "By the way, we gotta cancel our plans for today," Naruto informed him sadly, his mood souring slightly.

The prince of Wakanda nodded his head, "I already know. I was about to tell you the same."

"Huh?" Naruto's head turned to look at him in surprise. "You already know?"

"Yes," T'challa responded. "My baba told me about him going to the event held by your parents." Naruto was a bit surprised to hear that someone as important as his friend's Dad, who was a president.

'Mom and Dad must have something really important to showcase then.'

"If your father is attending it too, then that means a lot more important political figures will be there." Naruto sighed in disappointment, confusing his royal friend. Seeing the confused stare he got, the blonde decided to elaborate. "I thought that maybe if the event was over quick enough, we could still continue what he had planned tonight."

"Oh, I see what this is about." The prince realized as he smirked at his friend. "It's about you wanting to spend more time with that girl you met, my friend."

Naruto grinned, remembering that. "Felicia and I were hitting it off so well too. Besides, you can't really fault me for actually trying to start something with her." The blonde argued back in his favor as he shrugged. "She was interested, and as I said, we were hitting it off pretty well."

T'challa patted his shoulder in mock sympathy. "You'll get over it, my friend." Naruto gave him an annoyed look back in return before swatting his hand away and grumbling to himself, drawing a chuckle from his friend.

"But about that event, do you know what exactly it is?" T'challa questioned curiously.

"The event, huh?" Naruto repeated before answering. "All I know is that it's got something to do with mutants and that it might bring us closer to them, but that's about it. Mom and Dad were oddly secretive about it."

"Mutants, you say?"

"Yeah," Naruto replied back as they were standing aside with other students waiting for the guide to arrive, who arrived at that moment exactly. "We'll see what it is exactly later, but for now, it looks like they're about to start talking." He added, motioning his head towards the person standing in front of the students.

XXXXXXXXXX

"Well, that was boring." These were the first words that left Naruto's mouth as the duo of friends exited the building.

"It's only the first day. I didn't really have high expectations either." T'challa replied with a shrug. They came to a stop near the luxurious car that the prince of Wakanda had arrived in as they bumped fists with each other again.

"I guess you're right. It'll probably get better, but I'll catch you later at the event." Having said that, Naruto watched his friend hop into the car as it sped off. Turning around, Naruto started heading back home. It did not take him long to get home, looking around to see where his parents were.

"Mom? Dad?" He called out.

"Naruto?!" The voice of his mother came from upstairs. Seconds later, he heard footsteps coming down the stairs before seeing his mother come up to him with a smile of her own. "You got here at a perfect time." She stated, turning around and motioning her son to follow her.

Raising an eyebrow at the statement, Naruto followed her upstairs while asking. "Perfect time? What do you mean?"

Kushina looked back as she replied. "We're gonna go early to make sure we don't get stuck in traffic. Your father is taking a shower right now, and I was about to get dressed. You, mister, have to get yourself ready too because the driver will be here soon." She explained, getting an 'oh' expression from her son as they came up to his room upstairs.

"Alright, I'll get ready," Naruto answered back as he nodded his head. "By the way, about that event, I heard from T'challa that his dad will be there too, and it got me curious," Kushina raised her eyebrow in expectation, prompting Naruto to continue. "If someone as important as him is attending, how big is this event?"

The mother gave him a cheeky, secretive smile. "You'll see who else will be there. Now go get yourself ready for it." She told him, getting a nod in return as she turned around to "Wait, Naruto," She called out to her son, having turned back around wanting to ask something.

"Hmm?" Naruto asked, opening his door once again to look at his mom curiously.

"How are you feeling now compared to this morning?"

"This morning?" Naruto looked confused at the question before understanding. "Oh, you mean that? I, uh, well, I feel fine."

Kushina still looked a bit skeptical after that. "You sure? You don't feel cold, no headaches or anything of the sorts?"

Naruto looked at his mother weirdly for asking all these questions. While he understood that his mother was very doting and someone who got worried about small things but she seemed to be even more worried about something he considered minor. "I told you, I feel just fine, mom. Where is all this coming from?"

The Uzumaki crossed her arms, shaking her head at her son in mock disappointment. "What? A mother can't be worried if there is a chance her son could be sick?"

Naruto shrugged. "I'm not saying that. It's just that you're being a bit weird with all these questions when I already told you I feel fine. Is there something I should know?"

The mother quickly shook her head and turned around to leave. "No, there is nothing. You can go and get ready now."

The blonde watched on as his mother walked to her room, leaving him standing there, confused as to why his parents had started acting so secretive today. First, it was when he asked about the mutants this morning, and now his mother asking about his health when all he had was just a harmless nightmare.

'I'll just ask them about it after the event.' He decided as he closed the door to his room and went to get himself ready.

Sometime later, the door to his room opened again as it revealed him having dressed up accordingly. He could already hear voices downstairs, which he recognized as his parent's voices. 'Looks like they're just waiting for me.'

Kushina and Minato both turned around once they heard footsteps coming down the stairs before they saw their son dressed up, causing Kushina to gush over her son, as embarrassing as it was for Naruto. The sight made Minato let out a chuckle before a notification from his phone distracted him. Looking over at his phone, he saw that their driver had sent him a message indicating his arrival.

"Alright, you two, we have to go. The driver is here." Minato commented, causing the mother to stop teasing her son, the latter sending his father a grateful look for stopping his mother.

XXXXXXXXXX

Naruto put his phone back into his pocket after scrolling through Twitter to pass up some time before looking out the car through the window. It had been about an hour and a half since they had left their home and about an hour since they got stuck in traffic. It annoyed him quite a lot.

His head turned to the side once he heard his mother let out an annoyed sigh. "We've been stuck in this traffic for the last hour, damn it!" She let out, showing her frustrations which Naruto instantly agreed with.

"That's New York traffic for ya." Minato joked with a chuckle, though he stopped when he didn't hear his wife laugh but only gave him an annoyed glance.

Ignoring her husband's poor attempt at a joke, she continued her rant. "At this point, we'll be late for the event!" She cried out in a slight panic.

Seeing his wife worrying that much made Minato reach out to take hold of his wife's hand in support. "Hey, don't worry. We left earlier to make sure we got there time. There is still an entire hour left for us to make it there." The words did help a bit as his wife slowly nodded her head and calmed down.

Having calmed down from her slight panic about being late, the mother turned her attention towards her son. "Anyway, Naruto, how was your first day of university?" She asked curiously.

Naruto blinked at the question before replying, "It was alright, nothing too special."

"That's it?" Kushina asked, disappointed with the answer she got."You didn't meet anyone new?"

"Uhh, no."

Kushina looked a bit disappointed before that disappointment was replaced by a cheeky smirk. "Seriously? You didn't make friends with someone else, a girl perhaps?" Naruto raised an eyebrow at her question.

"A girl?" He asked, his mind going briefly to Felicia before he replied, "It was just a day for them to show us the campus and give some…." His sentence dragged on before coming to a stop, his face turning from one of amusement to one of realization. Immediately, his mind went back to the nightmare he had this morning.

'What? This is exactly like back then….' Ignoring his parents looking at him weirdly for his behavior, he quickly brought down the window to peek outside, already seeing some people running away in the distance, causing his eyes to widen, remembering what happened next.

"Naruto?" He heard his parents call out as he stopped looking outside and looked at them with a panicked expression. "What's wrong?!"

"Don't ask. We have to get out and away from here. Quickly!" The panicking Naruto cried out, his voice conveying his panic and fear.

Kushina was greatly confused but at the same time worried, seeing how her child was acting so suddenly. "Wha-"

"Don't question it, Kushina. Let's get out!" Minato quickly interrupted, giving his wife a look that she instantly understood. They quickly got out of the car, hearing some shouts going on in the distance before explosions started going off.

Naruto was completely surprised by what was happening. He didn't expect his nightmare to become a reality. He wasn't even sure if he could call it a nightmare anymore. 'Was that some sort of vision?' Naruto wondered before more explosions broke him off his thoughts. Before he could move, something landed next to them, causing the area to be rocked and for them to fall down to the ground.

He quickly stood up. His hearing was blocked off by the ringing sound as his hazy vision saw a couple of silhouettes through the smoke before something was fired at him, causing his eyes to widen. Instinctively, his hands stretched out as a shield formed in front of him and blocked off the attack, which caused him to be completely surprised.

'What was that?' Did he have some sort of power he didn't know about? His entire mind was going crazy with what was happening. The nightmare or more so the vision this morning, his parents acting secretive and asking all these questions, them getting attacked, and now him having some sort of ability.

"Stop joking around and get the case from them, you moron!" One of the attackers shouted at their accomplice, causing naruto to narrow his eyes through the smoke.

The sound of someone groaning in pain made him look around before finding his father standing up with some difficulty, "Naruto, are you alr-" The older blonde was cut off by someone landing next to him as debris flew up and smoke blocked Naruto's vision.

"Dad!" Naruto cried out in concern as he started running towards his father in concern, but his senses went off, causing him to turn around to see another projectile being fired at him. The young adult managed to get away just in time. He nearly breathed a sigh of relief when he heard police sirens in the distance but stopped himself from doing so when his senses went off again.

Before he could even do anything further, his vision went black, and he fell down on the ground, the silhouettes of a couple of people in the smoke being the last thing his vision picked up.

XXXXXXXXXX

Slowly his eyes opened to be greeted by the white ceiling. He blinked a few times, feeling his body ache in pain before trying to sit up, but a hand came up and pushed him back down on the bed. Looking over to his right, a woman smiled at him before she muttered something he couldn't fully understand and started checking up on him. He groaned in annoyance at the light being shined in his eyes before blinking it away.

"Where am I?" The blonde asked as his vision fully returned, and he sat up.

The woman next to him, who he recognized as a nurse, stopped writing down on a board before replying. "You're at the hospital. Your entire body was hurt pretty bad when you were brought in here, but everything seems to be in order now. You're completely fine now." She answered, her smile still in place, very surprised by how quickly he had recovered from his wounds.

Naruto looked down at his hands as the memories slowly started coming back to him. "How long have I been out?"

"Two weeks." She replied back, catching him completely off guard. He looked at her with wide eyes.

"I was out for two weeks?" Naruto asked in surprise, getting a confirming nod.

"Yes, after the incident two weeks ago, we had many patients come in with you being the last one left in here."

"Incident," Naruto muttered, finally remembering everything. "My parents, what happened to them? Are they alright?" He quickly fired off questions, overwhelming the poor nurse who cringed, knowing what had happened. But before she could give out an answer, the door opened, revealing detectives.

"Can we ask Mr. Namikaze here some questions?" The detective asked the nurse, who nodded in return before she left a second later. Naruto watched as the first detective picked up a chair before setting the chair in front of him and sitting down while the other stood behind him.

"Mr. Namikaze," The detective started off. "You're the last witness we needed to ask questions about from the incident two weeks ago." They got a nod in return from the young adult before they started asking their questions.

"We will keep this short. Can you summarize to us what exactly happened?"

And so, Naruto explained what had happened, though he kept the visions and powers part to himself for the moment before it was nearly done.

"You mentioned someone attacking you and your parents, right?"

"Yes."

Nodding, the detective held out his hand as the one behind handed over some documents to him before he showed it to Naruto. "Do you recognize these three as the ones who attacked you and your parents?"

Naruto shook his head. "I didn't see their faces. There was too much smoke there. Are these the ones behind everything?"

"Other eyewitnesses said these were the robbers who were planning a heist on the bank there-"

"Wait, wait. That can't be right." Naruto interrupted as he denied the fact. The detectives looked intrigued by the frustrated and confused face of the blonde patient as they let him continue. "They seemed to be targeting what my parents were gonna unveil. I remember them landing and attacking us with some sort of energy blasts."

"Energy blasts?" The detective questioned, narrowing his eyes. "So, you're saying that you were attacked by mutants who were after something your parents had?"

"Yes, they landed next to us and started attacking us. One of them even said they should stop playing around and get the case. But I couldn't do anything against them, and before I knew it, I lost consciousness and woke up here."

"Is that all you remember?" In return, they got a nod from Naruto, who looked at them expectantly.

The two detectives looked at each other for a bit before nodding and standing up. "Thank you for answering everything, Mr. Namikaze. We'll make sure to investigate this case further." They said as they went to leave.

"Hey, wait," Naruto called out, causing them to stop in their tracks and turn back around. "My parents, do you know what happened to them and where they are?" Usually, his parents would be already here by his side during times like these, but he was getting increasingly worried about them.

The detectives sighed inwardly, knowing the news would be devastating to the young man, but they knew they had to inform him of everything. "We're sorry to inform you of this. But your parents were one of the victims who unfortunately died during the incident."

Naruto opened his mouth to respond, but his words died in his throat hearing the revelation as he couldn't think of anything. His entire mind went blank hearing the sentence that came out of the detective's mouth. He didn't register the detectives cringing at his expression as they muttered "Our condolences" before they left the room, leaving the blonde sitting there as he looked at the now empty spot.

A chill ran down his spine as his hands started trembling, his heartbeat started racing as his breath became ragged, and his body started sweating. The machines began giving off loud beeps. His head started feeling dizzy, his eyesight becoming hazy once again. He didn't even register the nurses rushing into the room.

They quickly had the patient lay down as they figured out what exactly was happening.

"He's having a panic attack!" One of the nurses surmised as Naruto's vision slowly faded away before he fell unconscious again.

XXXXXXXXXX

He shot up from his bed in a sweaty mess as his breathing was ragged from the nightmare he had just had. Looking at himself, it was apparent he was still at the hospital. 'Did I lose consciousness?'

"Finally awake?" A voice called out, which he quickly recognized as T'challa's, who was sitting at the chair not too far from his bed.

"T'challa? When did you-"

"I've been visiting you every day for the last two weeks to check up on you, but you weren't awake until yesterday." His friend stood up from his seat to come to stand next to him. "I heard you had a panic attack yesterday. I came over as soon as I heard what happened." He placed a hand on Naruto's shoulder in support, knowing he needed it.

Naruto's head dropped down as he muttered. "I'm sorry for making you worry like this, man."

T'challa shook his head no as he squeezed his friend's shoulder in support. "Don't say that. I'm just happy you're alright." It was silent between them for some seconds before the door opened as they both looked over to see T'challa's father, T'chaka.

"Baba." T'challa greeted his father, who nodded back at his son before coming over to stand next to Naruto, who was planning to greet the older man in a respectable way, but the older man shook his head at him. "Lay down, Naruto. You don't need to stand up. You've gone through enough the past weeks."

It was silent for a few seconds before Naruto asked, "Did they catch whoever did it?"

T'chaka walked over to the windows as he stared outside before replying. "The ones in question were found to be killed 2 miles away from the bank they were planning to rob." He revealed, much to the surprise of both Naruto and T'challa."

"What?"

Turning around to face both his son and his son's friend, T'chaka continued. "They found all 3 of their bodies, but none of them were mutants."

Naruto shook his head in denial. "No, I'm sure that the ones who attacked us were mutants." The two Wakandan natives quickly detected the rage and rejection in his voice.

"I believe you," T'chaka replied as Naruto looked over at him. "I believe there is much more to this than just a normal robbery gone wrong as the authorities portrayed it."

"So they're just lying to everyone then?" Naruto scoffed, clutching the sheets in anger.

"I suspect they're keeping it a secret from the public. Mutants are not liked already, and if word got out that mutants were responsible for that, then innocent mutants will be dragged into the hate too."

Naruto understood that, though he didn't like that the real culprits were still out there. He took a deep breath to calm himself down before letting out a sigh. "Did," Naruto started off, getting the king's attention. "did you know what my parents were going to show?"

"It's best I tell you the entire story."

"Baba, are you sure now is the right time?" T'challa asked. He was curious himself, but his friend had just woken up and had already been through a lot. He didn't want so much to be dumped on him at this time so he wouldn't get overwhelmed.

"I understand that Naruto has already heard a lot, but it's best to tell him everything," T'chaka replied back as Naruto sent his friend a grateful look for worrying so much about him before looking back at the king.

"Let me start off by telling you about Wakanda…." The king proceeded to explain how he met his parents, when they helped him in Wakanda and the country itself. When Naruto first started showing off his mutant powers and how they were affecting him in a wrong way at first which brought them to create something that helped dampen/put his abilities to sleep for some time.

"Finding out about mutants was your parents' life's work, but once they had you, they understood the dangers that came with it and quit instantly. They did not want you to get caught up in any bad situation and kept their past a secret from you in order to make sure you lived a good life." T'chaka finished as Naruto looked down, his emotions all over the place.

He loved his parents for the fact that they went so far as to give up everything for him but did not know how to feel about not being told of everything even after he became an adult.

"Baba, maybe you should also mention the funeral." T'challa reminded his father as Naruto looked back up in interest after hearing that.

"Ah, yes." T'chaka nodded. "Naruto, I arranged for your parents' funeral to be held in Wakanda away from the world as that was their wish. I've also contacted your school to give you some time off and have already arranged everything for your housing back in Wakanda. You can stay there as long as you wish till you get back on your feet."

Naruto's eyes widened at the generosity as he opened his mouth.

"Do not even try to deny it, my friend." T'challa beat him to it as he shook his head. "We will not let you go through all of this alone. I've known you for years, and I consider you a brother of mine. I don't want you to leave you alone in a time like this."

Naruto smiled at his friend. Though, both the father and son could see that his eyes still held a lot of sadness in them.

"Thank you!"

It was some days later when Naruto had been allowed to leave the hospital and was picked up immediately by T'challa and brought to an airport where they entered a ship that took off at high speeds to Wakanda.

Hours later, Naruto was dressed accordingly for the small funeral, attended by himself and others too.

Naruto watched on as the coffin was lowered down while memories of him with his parents flashed through his mind. His eyes closed as tears slowly ran down his face before his shoulder was squeezed by T'challa, who stood next to him in support.

Sometime later, Naruto was still standing in front of his parent's grave. His empty eyes looked over the names on them.

"Naruto."

The blonde heard his friend, who was still with him in support, call out to him as his head turned to look at him, seeing the concerned look on his face. "I'm fine, T'challa. I just…" He sighed before turning around and walking forwards. "I'm alright."

In a vast blue spherical room with a small walkway leading to the middle where a large device rested, a bald man wearing some sort of helmet connected with lines to the large devices as hundreds and hundreds of holographic images of humans were scattered all over the room.

The bald man, whose eyes were closed, looked around as his head snapped from side to side before his eyes opened, taking in a deep breath. His hands came up to take off the helmet before he steered his wheelchair to start rolling away from the middle till the door opened up once he got close to it.

Once the door opened up, a beautiful dark-skinned woman with white hair an intricate black crown rested on her head. She was wearing a very revealing outfit that showed off her generous bust and her long supple legs. A two-piece leather custom, held together by a golden ring around her navel. Golden vambraces around her arms and a necklace with a red pearl finishing off her costume.

"Did you find the mutant, professor?" She asked, closing the door and following the bald man as he rolled forwards.

"Yes, I did, Ororo." The professor replied with a smile on his face. He had sensed the most significant energy source he had ever felt in his life two weeks ago but could never locate the precise location of the source. It was as if the energy had disappeared entirely, but he had finally found it after searching for a long time.

The now named Ororo smiled. "That's great. Where am I supposed to go?" She asked as they headed off to the ship.
