A/N: This is a Mafia!AU story that's heavily inspired by Peaky Blinders. It will eventually turn into a Lucius/Narcissa fic, but for now, I just wanted to get some of the backstories out of the way. I hope you enjoy!

Bellatrix leaned back in her chair, casting her head up to look down her nose at the shabby, dark haired man seated in front of her.

"Tell me, why should I even consider this "deal" of yours?"

"I can offer you protection," Ayden Travers began, "I have the Department of Defense in my back pocket. You would never have to worry about some auror finding your little hideout above this pub."

Narcissa, who was lazily lying on a couch in the middle of the room, behind the pair, chuckled at his response.

"I can keep them from sniffing around down here all together." Travers continued.

"The aurors don't come here. Narcissa sees to that."

Bella was quickly becoming frustrated with the man in front of her. Not only had Travers come barging into the Black Candle and demanded to talk to her, but he had just insulted her by asking for forty percent of her business in exchange for protection that she didn't need. Even if she did, she wasn't even sure Travers would be able to hold up his end of the bargain. He had lost his territory in London gambling and now resorted to pimping out the men he still had on retainer as "protection". She wouldn't trust that for a minute. As soon as she agreed to his terms, she had a feeling that aurors would be here left and right trying to muscle her into leaving so that Ayden could take hold of the alley.

She wasn't bluffing about her sister's part in this either. When Narcissa had returned from France a few weeks ago, Bella had put her in charge of maintaining the front half of Knockturn Alley in order to deter the aurors from snooping around. Since then, she hadn't had a single incident with the magical law enforcement. Not that she had many problems before that, but the quieter, the better.

"You need to start thinking more realistically," Ayden said, looking over his shoulder at Narcissa, who was still laying on the couch, but now kicking her legs in a whimsical manner.

"If I were being realistic," Bella replied, leaning forward and resting her head on her hands, "I would string you up right now. Keep you alive long enough to harvest all your organs to sell to various healers, then I would drain the blood from your body and sell that. along with all the other bits the healers didn't want, to the potion shops, and finally, whatever's left of you, I'd grind that up and sell it as meat to some poor schmuck who only has a few knuts for some food.

"Could I have his bones? I could carve runes into them and tell fortunes for some extra sickles." Narcissa asked nonshalontly, not even bothering to shift her gaze from the ceiling.

"The point is, you should be very grateful I'm not being realistic." Bella continued to stare Travers down and she slipped her hands from under her chin to point at the door, "Now, fuck off."

Travers remained in his seat, glaring at the Black in front of him, "They always said the Black's were going mad."

"I said fuck off!" Bellatrix screamed, throwing her chair back to stand as she drew her wand.

Ayden jumped up from seat, surprised by the rapid change in Bella's mood as well as the wand in his face. Not feeling very confident anymore, he turned towards the door.

Narcissa began to laugh again at the defeated man as she got up from her position and moved to open the door. As Travers shuffled closer, she blew him a sarcastic kiss. Suddenly enraged by being mocked, he rushed Narcissa, grabbing her by the throat and pushing her up against the nearest wall. He expected her to be shocked, caught off guard even, but she met his threatening glare with an almost alluring look. He was intrigued, to say the least.

"I would love nothing more than to fuck some respect into you," he said leaning in close to her, looking her up and down for a moment, "but I don't stick my dick in crazy."

Before he could do anything else, he felt the tip of a wand against the side of his head.

"I suggest you move away from my sister before I have your body thrown into the street for the rats."

He withdrew his hands from Narcissa's throat and made his way out the door and down the stairs, passing a woman holding the hand of what looked like a child wearing a cloak with the hood up.

Bella was still checking Narcissa over to make sure she was truly okay when the woman and child entered.

"Aunt Cissy!" the child yelled excitedly, running so fast towards the sisters that the hood fell from her head, revealing little Nymphadora Tonks.

Andromeda stood in the doorway, giving a small chuckle as she watched her young daughter take a running leap at her aunt, "Dora, you can't just jump at her like that."

"Yes I can, Momma! Aunt Cissy always catches me!" She says with a toothy grin, being held securely in her aunt's arms.

Andromeda shifts her gaze to Bellatrix.

"Dora, you should have Aunt Cissy show you her room? She just got done moving everything in and I'm sure she'd be thrilled to show you." Bellatrix said, keeping her eyes on Andromeda.

Narcissa nodded, while playfully bouncing the young girl in her arms, "Come on, little love. You can jump on my new bed while the boring adults talk." She stuck out her tongue at her sisters as she carried her niece out of the room and down the hall.

Andromeda shut the door behind them and watched as Bellatrix moved over to her desk and took a seat. She then motioned for Andromeda to sit in the chair across from her.

"I assume you didn't come all the way here for a social call." Bella started, not breaking her gaze as her sister heeded her motion.

Andromeda shook her head, "No. I came to see how Narcissa was doing."

"Yet you conveniently brought your daughter here to distract her."

It was no secret that little Nymphadora adored Narcissa. Perhaps it was because she had only had brief visits with her Aunt when Bella would sneak her to the Tonks' residents during holiday. Their limited time together only made their meetings more meaningful.

"I knew Narcissa wouldn't tell me the truth if I asked. You, however, would. So I'll ask again, how is Narcissa?"

Bellatrix smirked, leaning back to contemplate her response. She knew Andromeda blamed herself for Narcissa's exile to France. Sure, their parent's had sent Narcissa away immediately when Andromeda had announced she was pregnant and engaged to a muggle-born, but neither sister had harbored any bad intentions over it. In fact, Bella had left the family not long after that and made a life for herself here in Knockturn Alley. Even though she stayed in contact with Andromeda, she knew her sister felt like there was some sort of resentment between them, but there just wasn't any. The only hate Bellatrix had was for their parents. Hate, which she was still debating taking action on.

"She's perfectly fine. She's safe here and she's doing wonders for my business."

"Does she need anything. I can—"

"Andi stop! She's an adult now. She can handle herself just fine."

"I know I just-," Andromeda sighed, "I feel guilty, ya know? I feel like I have to make it up to her in some way."

"It's been 4 years since it happened, you need to get over it. I don't blame you for what happened. Narcissa doesn't blame you for what happened. You shouldn't blame yourself for what happened." Bellatrix got up and moved over to stand in front of her sister, putting her hands on her shoulders, "You fell in love and were happy, we understood that. We're all back together now. That's all that really matters."

Andromeda looked up at her with a small smile and nodded, "Yeah, that's all that matters. We'll always stick together, right? Because we need each other?"

Bella nodded, "Now enough of all this, let's go see what Dora has managed to con Narcissa into giving her."

Andromeda laughed before getting up and turning towards the door. As if remembering something, Bellatrix quickly reached behind her, "Andromeda!"

Andromeda turned back towards her sister, just in time to catch a sack that Bella had tossed at her. She opened it to find roughly 100 galleons inside.

"Bella, I can't accept this."

"You can and you will. I know how tough things are right now for you and Ted and like you said, we all need each other."

"Really, I can't take this from you." Andromeda insisted, trying to hand the money back.

Bella raised her hands to resist, "Please. Consider it an investment in my niece's upbringing."

Andromeda just sighed, magically shrinking the sack and stowing it in her robes. She quickly walked back to Bellatrix and pulled her into a hug before the older witch could protest, "You're the best big sister, you know that right? And I'm going to pay you back for this, mark my words."

"Yeah, yeah," Bella remarked, awkwardly patting her back, "you can pay me back by forgetting about the whole Narcissa situation."

"I'll try my best," she laughed, keeping her older sister close to her for as long as she possibly could.
