Chapter One: Rogue Shinobi, High School Student
Obito groaned in annoyance as the sun rays bore down on his face through the small gaps in the blinds. He hated every morning that he was forced awake by the sun, alarm, or even the couple nice enough to give him a place to stay. When he closed his eyes every night he expected to disappear from this nightmare. He wasn't supposed to be alive, yet here he was laying on a bed that wasn't his. This was not the end fit for the criminal he is.
He rose from the bed, once again being hit with every emotion imaginable. Why was he still alive? It's the same question he's asked since he has woken up in this strange place.
He sleepily walked into the bathroom. He thought when he's body crumbled into pieces after Kaguya's attack hit him, he would wake up in the afterlife. Clearly he didn't. When his eyes opened he didn't find himself in the endless torture of hell, instead he was laying in the middle of a park, soft lamp light shinning on him. His thoughts were a jumbled mess for months after, even as he tried to understand this new world.
As he stood in front of the mirror of the bathroom, the most shocking thing that he experienced when he woke in this world, was the fact that he now looked the way he did when he was sixteen. Whatever happened made his body younger. He still had the scars that littered his right side, and even the synthetic Hashirama cells.
Whatever happened didn't put him in his sixteen-year-old body, it just made his body younger. Another thing he noticed was that his chakra was dangerously low, even his infamous sharingan was deactivated for the first since he awakened the eyes.
Obito still staring at his reflection activated his three tomoe sharingan. The one comfort he had about being in this strange world was that he still could use chakra. Even the six paths chakra that he acquired after becoming the Juubi jinchiruki was still within him. As the time passed it had perfectly mingled with his own chakra to the point that it was truly part of him now.
He sighed loudly, as much as this world was a shock for him and no matter what it threw at him this was his new home. Unfortunately or fortunately Obito was never going to return to the Elemental Nations. He could only hope that Naruto, Kakashi, and the rest of their team were able to defeat Kaguya.
A knock on the door tore Obito from his thoughts, "Yes?" he asked.
"Obito-kun, are you almost done?" The small female voice of one of his caretakers asked.
Obito opened the door, "Yeah I'm done," he responded to the always worried hazel eyes that stared back at him. Her dark brown hair was tied in a ponytail again, it's the only hair style he's ever seen from her.
"Are you excited, Obito-kun, today is your first day at school." She said with a smile, "oh that's right here is your uniform." She held out the folded clothes ignoring the twitch in Obito's right eye when he saw the black blazer.
He had fought with the two adults who took him in, about going to school. Obito was over thirty years old, a criminal, one of the strongest shinobi in history, and they wanted him to go to school. More importantly Obito hated school, that was one part of his original personality that always stayed with him. Even when he had to study jutsu scrolls and other information Madara left for him. Every moment was spent learning with a burning anger.
Eventually he relented, he did owe these people. And thinking how Naruto would have handled the situation, helped make his decision.
Obito took the uniform from her and with a forced smile, "Thank you Miki-san." Remembering her question Obito forced his smile to widen, "and yes I am excited about going to school." Obito groaned inwardly when his annoyance was clear in his voice. He usually is so good at putting on a mask, even a false joyous one.
Miki just responded with a sad smile, the same one she's given him since her and her husband Gorou took him in. It was one of pity. By the time Obito came across the lovely couple he has spent three months living on the streets. He tried to get some kind of job, however it was hard without any form of identification.
He ran into the couple after the manager at a grocery store refused to give him a job or any expired food. The manager chased Obito out with a broom. Obito was debating on burning the store down with a Katon jutsu when the couple offered to buy him something to eat. After that wonderful meal they offered him a place to stay, saying they always wanted another kid. Especially one who wasn't a lecherous fiend. He didn't understand what they meant at first until he met Issei, their son.
Obito in all his life never expected anyone to out pervert Jiraiya of the legendary Sannin, but the brown haired teen is the one who could. From the first day he has stayed in this house, Issei would tell him all about his perversion in attempt to find a new friend with similar interest. Even when Obito didn't respond to it, he still forced himself to want to be Obito's friend. Obito deduced even though he is a pervert, he is kind; or lonely.
Since he has lived here, Issei always made it a point to hang out with him. If Obito was being honest with himself, it did feel like he gained a younger brother.
No matter how he feels about still being alive, even in a different world from his, he will always be grateful to the Hyoudou family for taking him in. The kindness they showed was the same kindness that his grandmother showed to everyone around her, even in her death bed she was still one of the kindest people he has ever come across.
They were even nice enough to get him his identification, unfortunately along with that came with the promise that he would go to school. He didn't know how they got him his identification or even falsified transcripts. He wanted to ask but thought it was better to not do so.
He's lived with this family for over nine months now, it was three months ago that they asked him to start going to school once Issei started his spring semester of his second year.
Obito returned Miki's smile, "I really am excited Miki-san." Obito bowed low, "thank you for this and everything else you have done for me, I'm truly grateful." When Obito stood back up he was quickly engulfed into a hug by the middle-age woman.
"Awww, your so adorable!" she squealed, "there's no reason to thank me. You are just like a son to us." She released Obito from the hug, before pointing her index finger at him. "And how many times have I told to call me Kaasan or Kaachan. No more of this Miki-san stuff, okay!" She sneered with mock anger.
"Okay, okay." Obito responded waving his hand in front of his face.
OBITO DxD
Obito tugged at the collar of his shirt trying his best to allow his neck to breath. How he hated this constricting school uniform. Not only did he have to wear a white long-sleeved button-down shirt, but also an even more constricting black blazer along with a stupid black ribbon that had to go around his neck.
He turned to look at Issei who was wearing the same uniform, but both the collared shirt and blazer were unbuttoned revealing a red shirt. He tried to do the same but Miki refused to let him, saying she didn't want him to follow Issei on a path of degeneracy. Obito had to stop himself from saying he was more of a criminal than her son could ever be.
"Oh, man you're going to love Kuoh! There's so many breasticles that are just waiting to be seen!" Issei yelled while throwing his fist in the air, "not only that but Matsuda and Motohama know of the best peeping spots. We are going to see so many jugs!" Issei continued while a small stream of blood trickled down from his nose.
Obito gave him an awkward smile, "I'm good, I'll just try to get through the day without being called a pervert."
"Come on Obito, your no fun." Issei responded folding his arms. Before his eyes lit up, "There's my friends I'm going to go with them and see if we can catch some bouncing fun bags while the athletic girls finish their exercise." Issei said with a wave, running towards his two friends.
Obito sighed, Miki asked Issei to show him around the school. He should have known that if any opportunity to stare at women came up, Issei would ditch him. Guess he'd have to figure out where his class is by himself. Shouldn't be to hard, he never found himself lost when he was wandering the Elemental Nations.
He slowly walked through the gates of the school, avoiding the other students around him. He could tell immediately that being around this many people was going to make him anxious. He hated being around multiple people. Even the large group within the Akatsuki made him uncomfortable. Which was a reason he enjoyed putting on the Tobi mask. Not only did it hide who he was, but the personality he developed from Swirly helped him deal with others easier. However, he was sure that wouldn't work here. Or could it?
Loud squeals brought him from his musings, turning towards the loud noise he saw a group of girls yelling loudly. Their faces were flushed, and their pupils were comically large pink hearts. They reminded him of the girls who would surround Bakashi during their days in the academy. He noticed the blonde hair of their adoration. The boy smiled at the girls with both his mouth and his blue eyes. Great another pretty boy with a fan club. Obito sneered to himself. Guess somethings will never change even in a different world.
Obito ignored the group and went and found his classroom. As soon as he stepped inside he watched with amusement as the ten or so kids inside stopped talking and stared at him. With the enhanced hearing that most shinobi enjoyed he could hear whispering about the scars on his face. He never minded the scars, they were a physical proof that his world was a tragic black hole of tragedy.
He walked to the closest person who was still gawking at him, "are the seats assigned or do we just sit anywhere?" Obito asked with a forced smile.
The girl shook away her surprise, "they're assigned. There's a sheet posted next to the blackboard that will tell you where your seat is."
Obito nodded before saying a quick thank you. He found the paper when the class groaned. Obito turned to find the source of their annoyance when he saw Issei walk in with his two friends. Of course, he'd be in the same class with him. He liked the guy but sometimes his blatant perversion was too much for Obito. Almost to the point where he has nearly used a genjutsu to remove the faulty trait.
"Obito-niichan!" Issei yelled with a wave, "I didn't know we are in the same class. That's awesome!"
"You never asked," Obito responded.
"What the hell Issei?! You didn't say that your brother was a chick magnet, we could've used him to score some girls over the break." Matsuda yelled.
"I did offer, he isn't like us. He doesn't know how great bouncing betties are." Issei replied with a shrug.
"Ew gross, I can't believe the new guy is related to that pervert." A girl whispered to her friends.
Obito sighed, he wanted to stay under the radar while attending this school. It would seem just being associated with Issei was going to cause him to be in people's sights. Troublesome, Obito thought.
Obito woke up when the annoying sounded through the speakers set throughout the school. He ended up sleeping through the entirety of the morning class. He tried to pay attention but found it tedious. He used a genjutsu to gain the knowledge from the boy sitting next to him when he asked him a question during one of the breaks. Thankfully the kid was one of the top of his class.
He noticed everyone getting up, some left and some stayed in the classroom pulling out bento's. He quickly deduced it was time for lunch.
Obito stood up and wandered the halls trying to find a spot void of people to eat the bento that Miki made for him. He found a spot to get up on the roof, however the door was locked. He stretched out his senses, not sensing anyone around him Obito phased through the door. He walked to the edge of the roof, sitting down with his legs hanging off the ledge he began to eat.
He casually watched groups of students eating together, when he noticed Issei and his friends giggling to themselves as they tried to look through a window. Obito groaned, he knew exactly what they were doing. Fucking perverts.
Obito set his bento box to the side, taking a deep breath he slid off the ledge. He landed lightly on the ground without making a sound. He calmly walked over to the perverted trio. He reached over and grabbed Issei by the back of the collar pulling him away from the show he was enjoying. Ignoring Issei's shout, Obito kicked the barrel the other two were standing on. With the loud crash the girls they were spying on immediately began yelling about someone peeping on them.
Obito dragged Issei away before the girls from the kendo club descended on his two friends with violent fury. He couldn't stop himself from chuckling at Issei's tears.
Rias and Akeno were currently staring out the window of the occult research club when they noticed three boys peeping on the kendo club's changing room. She would have stopped them when she noticed the one in the middle. She couldn't figure out why he seemed to stick out, but something about him was tickling her senses.
"Akeno do you know who that boy is?" Rias asked her queen.
"His name is Hyoudou Issei-kun from class 2B. Does something about him interest you?" Akeno replied.
"Maybe." Rias continued to stare at Issei trying to figure out why this pervert was garnering her attention. She began to sense more around her, thinking that maybe someone else had their attention on him. A bright flame caught her attention. It was something that she had never felt before. She turned towards the flame noticing a boy with spikey raven hair, staring at Issei with a annoyed look. His face twisted into a scowl, deepening the scars on the right side of his face. His onyx eyes narrowed. She watched the boy release a sigh before setting his bento box aside.
She let out a surprised gasp when he pushed himself off from the ledge and landed softly on his feet, unharmed.
"Ara ara, I wonder who he is." Akeno exclaimed.
Rias ignored her queen because she thought the same thing. They watched the boy go up to the perverted trio and pull Issei away from the other two. With a quick movement of his leg he kicked the barrel the two were standing on. He quickly dragged Issei away as the kendo club began beating on the other two.
"It would seem there are two who interest you now, ne Buchou-Sama?" Akeno chuckled.
"You are correct, let's find out more about them. But let's focus on Issei first, I'm beginning to think that the fallen angel girl is after him." Rias responded.
"Hai, Buchou-Sama."
OBITO DxD
Obito wanted to relish his first day off from school by sleeping in to celebrate the completion of his first week of school in this world. However, he wasn't the only one who was excited about the day off, Issei was currently in Obito's room talking about how much fun he was going to have on his date with Yuuma. He was exclaiming how he was going to lose his virginity while waving his phone around, a picture of Yuuma still on the screen.
"Do you have to talk about that here?" Obito growled.
"Of course, I do. I want to let everyone know that I'm going to be diving face first into fun bags!" Issei yelled, "you jealous?"
"No. More annoyed than anything, I wanted to sleep in more." Obito answered. "What time is your date anyways?"
"At one in the afternoon." Issei responded with a smile.
"Good then you can come with me." Obito rose from his bed.
"Where are you going?" Issei asked.
"To find a job." Obito responded.
"Eh? What do you need a job for? Don't Kaa-chan and Tou-chan give you an allowance from the money they get from the Orphan program?" Issei questioned.
"Yes, but I still would like to get a job. Can't live here forever you know." Obito answered.
"Okay, but why do I have to go?" Issei grunted.
"Because you woke me up. And if you don't want to, I could explain to Miki-chan about how you have to take supplementary classes because you failed three tests on the first day." Obito explained
"You have to take them too!" Issei yelled.
"No. I lied so you wouldn't feel that bad." Obito chorted.
"What? That's not right." Issei grumbled, "fine I'll go with you."
"Good let's go," Obito announced.
Obito groaned as he sat on a bench in the large park outside the shopping mall. He still couldn't get a job, even with the identification forms. Issei also didn't help with his constant yammering about women's breast. Many managers didn't want to even talk to him because of all the pervert's yelling. Yet even after Issei left for his date, he couldn't get a job. He figured some of the problem was he still couldn't find a valid excuse for his scars. The people here were constantly staring at them, he couldn't blame them really, they didn't have shinobi who were constantly riddled with signs they survived through hell.
He looked at the dimming sky. He should problem get home, Issei might already be there as well. The poor bastard more than likely scared that Yuuma girl off with his perversion. Which would mean that Issei is probably a bubbling mess of tears and snot right around now, and as a good older brother he should console him.
But, maybe he should stay out a little longer.
"Are you Uchiha Obito, Issei-kun's brother?" A voice asked from behind him.
Obito turned his head enough to see Yuuma, "Yeah, what do you want?" he asked. Years of being a rogue shinobi has taught Obito to trust his instincts and right now they were screaming that something wasn't right here.
Yuuma set her hand on his shoulder giving it a squeeze as she walked around the bench to stand in front of him. She gave him a devilish smile, "I just want you to forget about me." She said with low voice.
"Guess things really didn't work out with you and Issei. Don't worry I was planning on ignoring you even if you two stayed together." Obito replied.
Yuuma's brow furrowed, "that's good and all but just forget about me. I never asked out Issei. We never went on a date. I never existed."
Obito felt a strange energy enter his body trying to wrap around his mind. Obito quickly flared his chakra pushing all the weird energy from his body. Obito's eyes narrowed, she tried to use a genjutsu on him. Which meant she was an enemy. Obito kicked Yuuma away from him. He watched her skip across the ground until she managed to contort her body enough to stop herself. "You should have known that you can't use genjutsu on a Uchiha," he snarled, "you did surprise me though. I didn't know any other human could use chakra here." Obito extended his senses towards Yuuma, his frown deepened when he still couldn't since any chakra from her.
Yuuma stood up wiping dirt from her shoulder, "What are you?" she yelled. Obito didn't answer her. "Fine I'll just kill you like I did Issei." Black feathered wings erupted from her back as her clothes changed from a short black dress with a small, light purple jacket on top to black strap-like objects formed around and under her breasts, a thong-like piece formed around her hips by three thin straps, gloves ran right up her arms with small lengths of chains hanging from them, shoulder guard-like objects were on her shoulders with three large spikes sprouting from her right shoulder, and black thigh-high heel boots.
"What did you do to Issei?" Obito asked, trying to keep his anger in check. Even as guilt began to rise into his heart. Did he once again fail someone who was important to him? This world was supposed to be more peaceful than his. He couldn't lose someone again. He won't allow it. This time he'll protect the people close to him, even if he has to fight Kami himself to bring them back.
Yuuma's smile became malevolent, "this." A bright yellow spear like object formed into her hand, just as quickly as it formed, she threw it.
Obito dodged the spear, and in less than a second, he appeared in front of Yuuma, "where is Issei?" Yuuma just stammered in surprised by Obito's speed. Obito grit his teeth in anger as sent his fist crashing into her face with a loud boom. Yuuma once again was sent skipping across the ground.
He didn't give her any time to recover, as he appeared beside her. He grabbed her by the throat raise her up and slammed her into the ground. The ground shook as her form indented the hard cement. Obito quickly formed wooden rods stabbing them into Yuuma's hands and feet.
"Where is Issei?" Obito once again asked, this time not hiding his anger. Ignoring her attempts to free herself and her painfilled yells.
"I already killed him. Y-y-you can find his body by the fountain." Yuuma answered.
Obito quickly made a wood clone, "stay here and watch her, I'll go find Issei." Obito looked at Yuuma, "if he his body isn't there, then I promise the torture I already planned will last longer than we both would like."
Obito jumped into the trees, pushing chakra into his legs as he sped towards the fountain he remembered seeing on the way to the bench. When he reached it, he found a woman with crimson hair standing over Issei's body. She was surrounded by another woman with black hair, and a short girl with white hair, and that pretty boy he saw on his first day of school.
He jumped and landed in front of them, "stay away from him," he barked. He activated his sharingan to punctuate his words.
"Ara ara, what nice red eyes!" The black-haired girl exclaimed.
"Don't worry, we were helping him." The girl with the crimson hair answered.
"What did you do to him?" Obito asked.
"I kept him alive. He should be fine when he wakes up. If not than I promise you can come and kill me." The girl replied.
Obito was about to respond when the memories of his clone entered his mind, "oh shit," he whispered. He turned towards the direction he came from. Two women with black feathered wings flew out of from behind the trees. Another person entered his senses, he quickly turned around to see a man with a fedora and the same black wings as Yuuma chucking another of those yellow spears at him.
His sharingan spun into his mangekyo, as the spear swirled out of existence. "What are these guys?" Obito asked himself aloud. He has sensed the life force of many people in his life, but nothing like the signatures of these people with wings. Even the four that surrounded Issei had an unusual signature, it was even different than the people with the wings.
"They're fallen angels." The crimson haired girl answered.
"What?" Obito stammered.
"You three understand that you are attacking the next head of the Gremory family. I am Rias Gremory!" Rias yelled at the three intruders.
"We have no quarrel with you Rias-Sama, we are only after the one who attacked our comrade." The man with the fedora responded.
"Any attack on someone within my territory is an attack on me. I suggest you three leave now." Rias ordered. Obito's eyes widened as a swirling dark red energy enveloped Rias.
"Fine. We'll retreat for now. But if we see him again without you there I can't promise we won't retaliate against him" The man said before him and his companions flew off.
"I'm sure you have questions, as do I. How about both you and Issei meet me at the Occult Research Club tomorrow after class. There we can have a conversation about what transpired today." Rias offered.
Obito glanced at the four in front of him for a few moments. The pretty boy and the white-haired girl were still in a stance awaiting a fight. The girl with the white hair studied him, trying to figure him out. "Fine, I'll meet you tomorrow." Obito sighed as he picked up Issei and threw him over his shoulder.
Rias smiled, "thank you. Hopefully we can have a productive conversation."
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
I know many of you are still expecting me to update my ObiRin story, Light of my Life, however I started rereading the DxD light novels in between classes, and I thought of this story. It stayed in my mind for a couple of weeks, so I just had to start writing.
I was originally going to have Naruto instead of Obito, but Obito is my favorite character and I thought it would be cool to see him trying to get over his past while trying to figure out this new world he found himself in.
I also want to say that in my AU where Obito came from, there is no Ashura and Indra reincarnations, I always felt that Kishimoto did that so Sasuke can have something that can help him have enough strength and chakra to fight against Naruto, even after he got six paths chakra.
Obito still had six paths chakra when he died, so I'm using some creative freedom to write in a way that it has joined together with his normal chakra.
IDK how often I'll update this, I'm still working on my other two stories but don't worry no matter how long it takes I'll finish all my stories. I hate it when I read a great story to only find out that it was last updated years ago. I'll make sure that doesn't happen with me lol.
Anyways I hope you guys will enjoy this story, let me know what you think.
